After Admitting The Wrong God They Regret It - Chapter 100
After the storm ended, the demon clan had already connected to the star network.
In these past few months, even though the demon clan hadn’t deliberately publicized anything, once connected to the star network, information flowed freely.
Naturally, the information from the demon clan was also seen by the alliance.
From the slightly crude but genuinely joyful and lively deity’s day, to the pollution of the barren star systems gradually fading away, and the improvement of the environment, to photos of Xinghui in regular clothes with a laboratory coat and glasses for analyzing crop growth being spread around.
They felt victorious, but soon, the alliance, embroiled in interspecies conflicts, resource battles, and settling past grievances, began to descend into chaos and collapse.
Even though they no longer needed deities, with no more storms or pollution, they should have been living the life they longed for.
These doubts and confusions eventually returned to the abyssal directive—”The deities will grant you a place to live.”
Not only in reality but also in spirit.
Thus, calls to restore the deities grew louder.
More people believed that the wrong decisions were made by the leadership, and had nothing to do with ordinary people like them.
But probably those who could still be active on the star network were previously quite active.
Old statements were dug up by the demon clan and thrown back in their faces.
Their own words left them speechless.
Saying they didn’t want it but then wanting Xinghui to return?
Such a good deal didn’t exist!
Anyway, these matters didn’t require Xinghui’s attention, as everything was already over.
Even if Xinghui paid attention to these people, he would probably just glance at it, puzzled—he wasn’t their deity anymore. The storm was gone, the genetic diseases were gone, the pollution was cleared. What were they doing?
Were they just bored?
Thus, after the storm, the star systems calmed down, but the barren star systems continued to rise, while the alliance began the process of settling old grudges from their forced binding period. The turmoil and struggles were expected to last many more years.
*
In the demon clan’s laboratory.
The consciousness of Chuyue was somewhat chaotic, with the annoying beeping sounds of instruments in his ears.
He used to hear these irritating sounds in his sleep.
The young deity’s brow was tightly furrowed.
His thoughts were still confused, and he now felt the heaviness of his eyelids.
He struggled to open his eyes.
Once he woke up, he would make sure to crush each of those bastards’ heads—
He suddenly opened his eyes.
The fierce and irritable light in his brilliant golden pupils.
“Awake?”
A calm and steady voice came from above.
The black-haired deity peered down at him. His head seemed to have grown a bit, with his bangs swaying as he leaned forward.
Oh, it’s my brother.
Chuyue was stunned, his fierceness disappearing, his brow relaxing, his golden eyes bright and clear, with a watery look.
Like a tiger ready to bite but suddenly realizing it’s a caretaker, the bared teeth retracting into a soft, playful bite.
“How do you feel now? The readings seem to be fine. Just take it easy and recover gradually.”
Xinghui continued, opening the transparent door of the treatment pod. His white fingertips reached out to pat his head, looking earnest, with the reliability and trust of an elder brother.
Xinghui’s voice seemed to come through a layer, resonating in his ears.
Chuyue stared blankly.
Oh, it’s over. He was no longer a fragmented deity trapped in the lab.
Even the storm had disappeared.
“Take your time to get up.”
Seeing Chuyue unresponsive, Xinghui wasn’t surprised.
After all, Chuyue had been essentially reborn, with confused memories and various conditions.
He helped his brother sit up in the treatment pod.
Chuyue rested his hands on the sides of the pod, his golden eyes drooping and blinking, his bright golden hair flowing like light, warm and radiant.
There were several people standing behind Xinghui, including Yuanyuan.
Xinghui stood beside Chuyue for a while.
Finally, Chuyue slowly raised his head.
“Brother?”
The young man’s voice was full of youthful timbre, with a soft tone at the end. His voice was low and gentle, like a kitten just finding home, uncertain and timid.
“How long has it been? It couldn’t have been decades, right?”
He widened his eyes, observing his surroundings and then looking at Xinghui, speaking cautiously.
If it had been decades, he felt Yuanyuan would definitely have taken his brother away!
His brother was soft-hearted, and he could tell, especially towards Yuanyuan, Xinghui had lowered his boundaries.
“It’s only been four months. The remaining fragment’s power is very strong, giving a pre-birth feeling. A little assistance should be enough.”
Xinghui sighed in relief, pressing a button on his wrist to close the information about Chuyue and then smiled.
“Your wish has been fulfilled. See, you’re really here now.”
Xinghui smiled, looking almost radiant.
Chuyue stared, tears welling up in his golden eyes. The next moment, he leaped out of the treatment pod.
He threw himself into Xinghui’s embrace.
“Brother, brother, brother!!!”
Xinghui was knocked back a couple of steps by the golden cannonball, and Yuanyuan, standing behind Xinghui, reached out to steady him.
The tall demon clan’s dark red eyes watched the golden deity nestled in Xinghui’s embrace. Chuyue was shorter and more childish than Xinghui, which meant he was very good at acting spoiled.
Yuanyuan clicked his tongue.
He felt his swift actions were definitely justified.
If he had waited for Chuyue to wake up, he would have been the one to carry Xinghui away, causing significant resistance.
As expected, he soon heard—
“Brother, how are you now? How’s the star system? Are we going to live here from now on? Brother, you must be careful. That demon clan must have ulterior motives; he really wants to eat you and take you away. Fortunately, I woke up early. I’ll protect you!”
Xinghui: … Ah, this.
Yuanyuan: … I knew it.
The demon clan waiting for further examination looked confused.
What’s this about kidnapping and eating?
The boss? The boss wants to kidnap Xinghui?
“That’s a bit late.”
Yuanyuan laughed, reaching around to hug Xinghui’s shoulders from behind.
“It’s already mine.”
Chuyue : ???!!!
The surrounding demons were wide-eyed.
“Holy shit?”
“What’s going on?? Boss, you—”
“I told you! I said something was off about the way the deity and the boss interacted! You all beat me up and said it was out of respect!!”
Since when did respect involve coming out of someone’s room late at night?!
Chuyue paused, then looked up at Xinghui’s expression.
Xinghui’s face was stern but clearly red in the ears.
It was real!!
“Only four months?! And you’ve already made a move? What kind of beast are you???”
Chuyue squinted, astonished.
He tried to roll up the sleeve of his treatment robe, ready to confront Yuanyuan.
The demon clan, from their initial confusion, now started jeering and causing a commotion.
It was getting quite lively.
Yuanyuan’s intention was clear; this would probably be all over the star system by tomorrow.
“Alright.”
Xinghui pinched Chuyue ’s cheek.
“You still need to be examined.”
“Did you hear that? Stop making a fuss and go get checked.”
Yuanyuan kicked the loudest demon on the behind.
“Otherwise, you’ll end up like the communications department, training with me every day.”
The demons: …
No wonder the communications department had been struggling lately, especially the one named Yudi, who was rumored to have developed a strong physique from constant training with the boss.
“We’ve seen them. They need to be examined; we’ll wait outside.”
Yuanyuan took Xinghui’s hand.
Adjusting their positions a bit, they clasped their fingers together.
As his younger brother, hugging and comforting was fine, but his own claim to Xinghui needed to be clarified.
Chuyue , having calmed down from his initial excitement, was now somewhat fatigued. He was taken by the lab demons for further checks, his eyes still on Xinghui and Yuanyuan.
Xinghui, only holding Yuanyuan’s hand, didn’t move outside.
He was a bit worried about how Chuyue would adapt to the demon clan.
But Chuyue sat obediently, waving at Xinghui like a child.
Indicating he was okay too.
Finally, his gaze fell darkly on Yuanyuan.
Although he was furious about the sibling rivalry, he could tolerate Yuanyuan a bit because he had stayed with his brother during his absence.
Because his brother was willing and relaxed.
His brother was also exhausted. He wanted to see the world through his brother’s eyes. His wish was fulfilled, and he hoped his brother could live the life he wanted.
Finally, Xinghui and Yuanyuan walked out of the laboratory.
The hallway was brightly lit, and outside the window was the starry sky.
Xinghui leaned on the window, turning to look at Yuanyuan beside him.
The demon clan’s face was a bit grim, fiddling with something on the communicator.
“Are you really jealous?”
Xinghui laughed, reaching to tug at Yuanyuan’s sleeve.
“Not jealous of this.”
Yuanyuan put away the communicator, sounding a bit displeased.
“Just thought these little brats really didn’t see it coming at all. They’re all so pure, never imagined anything wrong until just now when the demons’ attitude made me fully realize this.”
He had just received a bombardment of messages from a bunch of people.
Had he been too conservative in his usual actions?
Yuanyuan touched his chin, pondering, then followed Xinghui’s gaze to the sky.
“Want to go to the rooftop to see the stars? The stars.”
Yuanyuan’s wings were now healed.
On the rooftop, he somewhat ostentatiously enveloped Xinghui.
Now, the news had exploded across the deity star system. The two involved had set all that aside, hiding on the rooftop to enjoy the starry sky.
Xinghui tugged at Yuanyuan’s wing feathers, marveling.
“You’re growing quite fast, not bald anymore.”
Yuanyuan supported himself on one side, wrapping Xinghui in his legs, his wings circling around to envelop Xinghui. It highlighted his dominant position, now not only daring but also making demands.
“Forget those images.”
Xinghui, uninterested, turned his gaze to the sky.
The starry sky of the star system was not just white and light yellow stars, but also various other colors, somewhat like when Xinghui first discovered he could see others’ mental powers.
“So peaceful, so unreal.”
Xinghui sighed lightly.
“By the way, I remember I once wanted to fulfill a wish for the first believer who trusted and believed in me, but it’s been so long I almost forgot.”
Xinghui turned his head to meet Yuanyuan’s gaze.
“It’s not too late now. My first believer, do you have any wishes?”
Yuanyuan immediately smiled, moving closer and snuggling.
“I think such a question is unnecessary.”
Let him hold his little star, as if the star system and its stars were theirs.
Always together, year after year, year after year.

Author’s Note:
The main text is finished!
Thank you for accompanying me here.
Starting tomorrow, I’ll update the extras. Tentatively: 1) A sweet short story about Xinghui and Yuanyuan 2) A short story related to Chuyue 3) A fantasy about raising a younger Yuanyuan in dreams. The first two should be quite short, and the total word count shouldn’t be too much. If there are any other extras you want to see, please leave a comment, and I’ll consider it.
