After Admitting The Wrong God They Regret It - Chapter 12
“Are you saying it’s right here?”
The convoy had progressed to an even more desolate area.
This region lacked even the sight of many plants.
Yuanyuan’s footsteps came to a halt.
“Right below this area. Start digging from here.”
“From here?”
Someone questioned softly.
Yuanyuan glanced at the instruments they brought.
Not a trace of energy mineral was detected in this area.
Yuanyuan looked at Xinghui, whose complexion was even paler but determined, pointing his finger towards the ground.
He smiled for a very brief moment.
He raised his hand and tapped the brim of his military cap. The silver-white emblem on it kept reflecting under the intense light. His pearly white teeth bit the tip of the black leather glove, while the other hand assisted in removing the glove.
The black military jacket was taken off, revealing the vest underneath.
His skin was a healthy pale, and underneath the military uniform, his robust muscles were subtly evident.
“What are you still staring at? Didn’t you hear what Lord God said? Start digging.”
There were no mines here; they needed tools to dig down.
However, for the demon clan, it was still a relatively simple and easy task.
Their spiritual power connected to the machines.
Xinghui only heard a rumbling sound in his ears. The wind coming towards him was mixed with sand and dust particles, even stinging his face. Xinghui instinctively bit back, but considering how many people were watching him, he stayed put.
The little deity finally lowered his eyelids, not moving at all.
Yet the wind, carrying stones, mercilessly slapped against his face.
Xinghui stood strong in his place, but his eyes were lifeless.
After all, his face had gone numb.
He felt like he was challenging the harsh conditions of the desolate star system, either getting injured or battered by the relentless wind.
Staying here any longer, he wasn’t even sure if he could leave this place unscathed.
Damn it!
He wasn’t sure how long the voices around him had been sounding.
Xinghui watched as Yuanyuan’s spiritual power, belonging to Yuanyuan, borrowed tools to rise from the ground and finally leaped at a certain point, landing gracefully by his side.
“Boss, we’ve reached this depth. Should we continue? Normally, beyond this depth, there shouldn’t be any energy minerals.”
The instruments were correct; there was simply no energy mineral here.
“Take a break, all of you.”
Without waiting for further questioning, Xinghui took a few steps forward, his lifeless eyes constantly looking down at the ground. He then turned to look at Yuanyuan.
“Take me down to have a look.”
“It’s chaotic down there, full of debris and rocks. Be careful if you want to go down yourself.”
Just as Yuanyuan finished speaking, the little deity took a step forward. There happened to be a stone under his foot, which crumbled as he stepped on it, landing weakly on Xinghui’s shoulder, leaving a dusty mark.
Xinghui:…
My image!
In the eyes of onlookers, the deity who once quelled the cosmic storm to establish a new order now appeared weak and fragile in his actions. It strangely stirred a sense of melancholy.
Only Yuanyuan, who was close by, noticed something amiss as he saw Xinghui’s trembling eyelashes.
Xinghui retracted his foot, trying to forget what just happened, turned around as if nothing had occurred, and looked at Yuanyuan again, emphasizing the word ‘take.’
“Take me down.”
“Is this a request?”
The person spoke with a playful tone, stretched out his long arm, and his scorching breath instantly approached.
Xinghui felt a clamp-like hand around his waist, and then his feet were lifted off the ground.
The wind roared, and they descended straight down.
The cloak remained undisturbed, but the wind stirred the fabric, revealing the strands of hair that Xinghui had meticulously tucked away.
Xinghui’s body stiffened.
It wasn’t until his feet touched the ground, still a bit numb, that he pushed Yuanyuan away.
Completely numb.
Jumping from such a height straight into the ground?!
What a reckless fellow!
In the eyes of the other demons mining nearby, their leader descended with a deity.
The deity’s expression remained unchanged, decisively pushing away Yuanyuan and heading towards a corner.
He wasn’t willing to exchange unnecessary words with mere “mortals.”
Yuanyuan followed behind Xinghui.
Huanzi, who had just joined the excavation, along with others, was all covered in dirt. Seeing Xinghui’s return, Huanzi placed what he held aside.
“This area exceeds the deepest level of energy mineral reserves. There won’t be any more beyond this point.”
Huanzi stretched his muscles, feeling that the dust had settled, and he was not as aggressive as before.
“Boss, let’s go back and investigate properly. It’s suspicious how he managed to get on our airship, and it’s been two days. I find it hard to believe that he’s sitting still after losing the deity’s position in the upper-level star system…”
In the end, he shrugged at the demon companions nearby, joking, “Unless he wasn’t a deity from the upper-level star system in the first place.”
Xinghui squatted down without saying a word.
Although he really wanted to explode at Huanzi, he was right about this point.
He indeed had not gained any belief.
The deity’s already dark eyes became even more shadowed. He had no mood to tidy up his little curls. His hand emerged from the cloak, attempting to resonate with the energy stones he sensed using his meager spiritual power.
Everyone watched Xinghui’s movements.
After about three seconds, a faint red light emanated from Xinghui’s fingertips, spreading outwards and connecting into a unified glow.
All the demons were familiar with this light, the color produced when energy minerals were in use.
Huanzi’s words were still stuck in his throat as he stared at Xinghui, completely frozen.
“It’s indeed an energy mineral!”
“Continue digging! Behind those stones! Strange, why can’t the instruments detect it?!”
Although buried deeper than their conventional understanding of energy minerals, the instruments shouldn’t have shown no response.
Yuanyuan was the first to sense that something was amiss. The spiritual power, which had initially been restrained in Xinghui’s presence, suddenly surged out.
Stimulated, Xinghui closed his eyes as gusts of wind surrounded him, echoing the roar of an unknown beast.
Following closely, Yuanyuan grabbed Xinghui’s body and pulled him back.
Xinghui felt a cool sensation above his head, as if a strong wind had just grazed his scalp.
Yuanyuan watched as Xinghui’s cloak was blown away by the wind, and his raised strands of hair were cut in half.
From long to short.
Yuanyuan, still concerned about the items that could suppress genetic diseases, instinctively reached out, grabbed the strand of hair, and tucked it into his pants pocket.
Simultaneously, Yuanyuan’s spiritual power collided with the powerful spiritual power hidden in this place.
The surrounding stones collapsed with a thunderous roar.
Splintered rocks easily left bloodstains on the delicate face of the deity.
Yuanyuan observed Xinghui’s slightly dazed face, blood slowly sliding down his pale cheeks.
Demons were born battle enthusiasts, and the sight of blood excited them.
Yuanyuan’s dark red eyes gradually became more vibrant. He seemed to be restraining something, then raised his hand to press Xinghui’s head, murmuring, “Close your eyes.”
A massive black shadow unfolded from behind Yuanyuan, converging forward until it completely enveloped Xinghui.
Author’s note:
Demons: “What happened to the hair?”
Xinghui: “My hair!!!!”
Yuanyuan: “Very well, it’s mine now.”
