After Admitting The Wrong God They Regret It - Chapter 13
Xinghui felt utterly bewildered, surrounded by the radiance of his own spiritual power, making Little Deity Yuanyuan feel like he was standing in the center of a spotlight. It was light pollution!
He tightly closed his eyes.
The hand around his waist was firm, and his head was pressed into Yuanyuan’s embrace.
His nose was filled with the bold, aggressive scent typical of a mighty demon.
Yuanyuan’s muscles were robust, causing Xinghui’s nose to ache slightly from the impact. However, the sensation of Yuanyuan’s warm and soft embrace felt like burying into delicate and gentle feathers.
Unable to resist, Xinghui rubbed his hand against it, and the pressure on his waist increased.
“Hiss—”
A dangerous tone emanated from the man.
“Could you please stop moving recklessly?”
The areas he touched seemed to actively evade his fingertips.
Xinghui instantly stiffened.
Finally realizing what it was.
In the Upper Star System, including the splendid Star Imperial Palace and the records of the Krara tribe, the wings of higher-ranking demons were described as black crows with filthy hues, repulsing people.
Xinghui couldn’t see the color of Yuanyuan’s wings, but the feathers on them were very soft, feeling smooth and warm, not at all disgusting.
The surroundings finally calmed down.
“Boss! There are remains of a high-level exotic beast buried here. The residual spiritual power just now might be from it.”
Yuanyuan’s pitch-black wings opened a seam.
Through the opening, one could see the tall man protecting the slender deity in his embrace. His originally dark red eyes had not faded, and the cold and fierce aura in his eyes instinctively made everyone who glanced at him retreat.
Everyone knew that Yuanyuan getting excited was far from normal; he turned ferocious to the point that many demons were left with psychological scars. In such moments, everyone tried to avoid him as much as possible.
“Boss, we detected it! There are plenty of high-grade energy ores in this area! Judging by the depth, it seems to have collapsed and buried during the cosmic storm. Additionally, a powerful exotic beast perished nearby during the storm, but its spiritual power, nurtured by the energy ores, didn’t dissipate quickly. Instead, it covered this energy ore deposit, making it undetectable for us!”
A demon excitedly reported findings from the instruments, raising his head to share the discovery.
This might not be an isolated case.
All the demons’ eyes focused on Xinghui.
The deity was finally released, and as the dust settled, he frowned and coughed a few times. The blood from the cheek wound had smeared on Yuanyuan, probably wiped off during their contact. The contrast of that hue on his overly fair face was especially striking.
He seemed exceptionally delicate.
“I’ll take him up first,” Yuanyuan said, looking at Huanzi.
“You handle things here.”
Huanzi, just recovering from the shock of the energy ores, opened his mouth to say something.
Yuanyuan didn’t give him a chance to speak and, with a few leaps, brought Xinghui back to the ground.
Xinghui’s feet finally touched the ground.
Little deity looked up, with blood on his face, disheveled clothes, and a bit of a mess in his soft, pitch-black curls. One strand, distinct from the rest, curled up slightly as he moved.
When those black eyes glanced over, the previous distant and unapproachable demeanor faded a bit, making him seem somewhat cute for an instant.
Xinghui stamped his feet on the ground, feeling his legs go a bit weak.
Too exhilarating.
This was the first time in five years that he felt this stimulated, to the point of not caring about his own image.
But no, he had to stand tall, maintain a proud posture—
Beautiful little deity Yuanyuan hadn’t fully confirmed the completeness of his divine majesty when he couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
The cape was destroyed, exposing that beautiful face, like a fragrant rose, to the most intense sunlight in the desolate star system.
In just a few seconds, the heat surged, and his face instantly became fiery under the scorching light.
The fair skin gradually blushed.
Then, a garment carrying Yuanyuan’s aura draped over him.
Judging by the feel, it should be Yuanyuan’s coat.
Yin Fan quickly approached Xinghui, tending to his wounds and spraying a soothing agent on his exposed skin to minimize the impact of the intense light.
“This won’t do; we need to return as soon as possible.”
“We’ve already found the energy ores.”
Yuanyuan stood behind Xinghui, protecting him as they boarded the vehicle. He pondered, wondering if Xinghui’s strands of hair were actually effective. Also, why did Xinghui, who had been cold, suddenly smile at him in the pit?
Strange.
Oh well.
He raised an eyebrow, gently supporting Xinghui, finally remembering to control his strength and be extra careful.
This damn deity was truly a precious puzzle!
“Let’s go, back to our camp—Lord Deity.”
The vehicle carrying the deity left first, and the quiet place gradually filled with discussion.
“Is it really energy ore?! Does that mean my sister can be saved?”
“I told you he must have some real abilities. He looks different from other races, claims to be a deity, and can sense energy ores. That’s definitely a deity! I don’t know what you guys were arguing with me about just now.”
“…Why do I suddenly feel that the deity looked a bit dazed earlier, quite… cute.”
“It seems a bit… Oh my, why is your big man blushing? It’s weird!”
Back at the camp.
The news about the new energy ore had spread.
From the moment Xinghui got off the vehicle until he was escorted back to his room, everyone’s eyes along the way couldn’t help but focus on him.
Complex, bewildered gazes followed his departing figure, like a child who had suddenly found a place to belong after being without a home. It seemed he hadn’t fully come to terms with it.
What excited the demons the most wasn’t the high level of the energy ore or how long it could sustain them. It was the hope born out of gradually diminishing resources, witnessing the demise of their kin.
Yin Fan followed Xinghui into his room.
Yuanyuan took a few steps and coincidentally met Xie Ya, who was waiting outside with an excited expression.
“Got the news?”
Yuanyuan still only wore a vest and casually glanced at Xie Ya.
“I was going to continue telling you the information I gathered from the upper star system. Boss, you really dropped a bomb on me; I almost fell off my chair.”
Xie Ya adjusted his glasses with a raised hand. “What information?”
“Although the deity from the upper star system hasn’t appeared publicly, the codename for that deity is Moon God. According to the praise hymns sung by the Clans, the Moon God is described as a golden radiance, which doesn’t match with Xinghui.”
“Is this important?”
Yuanyuan burst into laughter.
What nonsense about deities!
Xie Ya chuckled too.
This matter was utterly unimportant. The demons never acknowledged deities. What mattered now was that Xinghui had become a precious puzzle for them, and they needed to take care of him!
Yuanyuan pulled out a few strands of Xinghui’s hair from his pocket.
“Let someone research if these can suppress the genetic disease.”
Excitement drained from Xie Ya’s face as he stared at the soft, pitch-black strands of hair. He wondered if it was okay to cut off someone’s hair after just realizing they were a precious puzzle.
“And also,” Yuanyuan’s smile turned somewhat fake, “inform the alliance that I’m done with this business. Whoever wants to wear the dog collar can wear it.”
Author’s note:
Xinghui: I really want to escape.
Yuanyuan: I’m so happy; this is my precious puzzle! *boasts*
