After Admitting The Wrong God They Regret It - Chapter 73
After the demon race breached the Qimu Space Station’s defense shield, the demon starships outside ceased their bombardment.
The entire space station shook and then settled into an eerie calm.
Walking on the somewhat damaged pavement, there was a strange silence.
Perhaps because the demons had mostly developed the lower-tier races over the past few years, even though the entire alliance had become chaotic due to their meddling, their actual combat power was still limited. When they realized their weapons couldn’t harm the demons, they quickly searched for places to hide.
“I didn’t notice much else, but these guys definitely ran fast.”
One demon, carrying a heavy weapon casually on his shoulder, with his muscular frame visible under his military uniform, looked around warily while appearing relaxed.
“Originally, I thought these guys were something based on their online boasting about living comfortably without believing in the divine beings for five years. And they had a significant position in the Sky Organization. It sounded like they were formidable figures, but in reality, they are just scaredy-cats who run away when they meet us face to face.”
Yuanyuan, on the other hand, wasn’t carrying heavy weapons. His mental power was strong enough, and having grown up fighting and surviving, very few demons could match him in a real fight. Especially after Xinghui’s return, Yuanyuan only carried some small auxiliary weapons, since he needed his hands free to hold Xinghui.
At that moment, the tall demon stood beside Yuanyuan, scanning the surroundings.
“Boss, where should we go? These guys have all hidden away. Do they intend to drag this out?”
Although the Qimu Space Station wasn’t very large, about the size of a few demon starships, and was completely surrounded by demons with no way to escape, finding the so-called Commander Zhao in such a vast area was still challenging with their current personnel.
It mainly consumed a lot of time and energy.
Yuanyuan glanced lightly at Xinghui.
Who could know what these guys were really thinking?
A bunch of fools with something wrong with their heads, quite incomprehensible.
However, based on the previous situation and current information from the star network.
Firstly, even though Xinghui could resist the storm and the demon’s combat power, these guys still seemed fearless. Either they were mentally unstable or had some trump cards.
Also, the opponents were actually quite skilled at hiding, not lacking intelligence. Although the demons hadn’t actively intervened in the alliance’s affairs before, they had never ceased observing and monitoring the alliance.
As long as the opponent existed, there would always be flaws.
Moreover, the demon race had only been struggling to survive and hadn’t stopped developing. The opponent had underestimated the demons due to some rumors from the alliance, which just happened to create an opportunity for the demons.
Such a person, seemingly bold and arrogant, was careful in handling matters behind the scenes.
Yuanyuan’s gaze shifted from the highest building of the Qimu Space Station to a smaller, well-maintained building next to it.
“We’ll start searching from here.”
During the demon’s search, they managed to capture quite a few prisoners, who stubbornly yelled online claims about the divine beings, the abyss, and the demon race being just like them, but willingly acting as dogs for the divine beings.
These so-called divine beings and the abyss should protect them, but instead, they made demands, all because of the demon race’s flattery.
These prisoners, filled with righteous indignation, had likely been persuaded to join the Sky Organization with similar arguments.
However, when faced with the demons’ weapons, their righteous indignation quickly vanished. They obediently followed the demons to a corner for guard.
The demons watching their dejected and resentful expressions couldn’t help but sneer.
If they had maintained their attitude from the beginning, it might have earned them some respect, but now, they were just a bunch of spineless individuals.
Yuanyuan and Xinghui, along with a few demons, had entered the smaller building.
The building was indeed different from its surroundings. From the outside, it blended in, but inside, its decor was quite different from the rest of the Qimu Space Station.
The interior had been completely renovated, shifting from a leisure style to a cold, hard one.
The building was quiet, with no one present.
From the first floor to the third floor, they explored thoroughly. Finally, after kicking open a door on the third floor, they found no one inside, despite the room’s decor being clearly different from the other areas.
“This place has specialized communication devices, and there’s a signal booster nearby. Such equipment isn’t typically used for regular communication, and the high frequency might even reach near the desolate starry void. Who are they trying to contact?”
A knowledgeable demon examined the setup and quickly informed Xinghui and Yuanyuan.
“Boss, it’s basically confirmed that this is Commander Zhao’s room.”
One demon had examined the desk, and on the topmost document, the name “Zhao Xiyuan” was written in a flamboyant script.
“He must have hidden somewhere when we breached the shield, but all the exits have been sealed off, so it’s just a matter of time before we find him.”
Xinghui had walked over to the desk.
The black-haired deity, dressed in a sharp black military uniform, had his golden cufflinks reflecting the light from the window.
He thoughtfully glanced around, then shook his head.
“My mental power doesn’t sense anything wrong.”
Everything seemed normal.
Yuanyuan squinted slightly and scanned the surroundings as well.
Since Xinghui didn’t detect any abnormalities, they couldn’t be sure if the opponent’s confidence was due to sheer arrogance or if they had some hidden abilities.
“Continue searching the surroundings in teams.”
Yuanyuan quickly instructed and started rummaging through the room.
The other demons promptly exited to continue the search.
Xinghui took a final look around, then looked up at the top of the bookshelf in the office, noticing a small corner of something visible.
The room was quite tall, and the bookshelf was high. Typically, accessing the top shelves would require a ladder.
But there was evidently nothing nearby to climb.
“Yuanyuan, do you see anything up there?”
Xinghui pointed.
“Let’s take a look.”
Yuanyuan was frowning as he casually flipped through the paper plans on the desk. These plans detailed Zhao Xiyuan’s meticulous scheme to incite various races’ dislike for the divine beings and the abyss, causing them to lose faith in both. This included exploiting races like the easily provoked and volatile ones.
Seeing his plans and thinking about the races that had announced their departure from the alliance, it had to be said that his plan was quite effective.
Originally, the next step was to gradually integrate these races into the Sky Organization’s system.
However, they had arrived too quickly, preventing many plans from unfolding as intended.
Moreover, while paper documents still existed in space, they were rarely used in problem-solving compared to the efficiency of smart brains.
At this moment, there seemed to be an excess of documents on the desk.
As Yuanyuan pondered what this might signify, he heard Xinghui’s voice and turned to see the little deity standing in front of a tall bookshelf. Xinghui’s soft, slightly curled black hair was pressed by his military cap. He was looking up, pointing to something on the top shelf, unable to reach it and thus turned to Yuanyuan for help.
It was quite a predicament.
Despite the calm expression on his face, Yuanyuan felt as if he had a filter for Xinghui.
Even such a simple request seemed to carry a hint of endearing innocence.
It made Yuanyuan’s heart flutter.
He quickly walked over.
Xinghui was waiting for him to look up and retrieve the item.
But the next second, he was picked up by Yuanyuan, who really did lift him.
Xinghui’s gaze suddenly rose, and he instinctively grasped Yuanyuan’s small demon horns, his eyes widening slightly with a mix of surprise and displeasure.
“What are you doing?”
The slender young man was lifted and seated on Yuanyuan’s shoulder. Yuanyuan kept one hand on him to prevent him from falling off due to the unbalanced position.
Yuanyuan walked a couple of steps toward the place Xinghui had pointed to. He gently tilted his head, and the young man on his shoulder looked down at him while holding onto his demon horns.
He seemed quite innocent.
“I’m just helping you get the item.”
Isn’t there no ladder?
He could very well serve as the ‘ladder’ for the little deity.
After all, Xinghui’s weight was hardly a burden for Yuanyuan; it even felt somewhat light.
For a moment, Xinghui was unsure how to respond. It was precisely the case that neither he nor the demon could reach the item from below. With Xinghui lifted high, Yuanyuan could easily retrieve the document.
It wasn’t a very thick stack, but it seemed to have been there for a long time, as Xinghui could smell dust on the document bag when he touched it.
Once he held the documents, Xinghui examined them closely and his eyes darkened slightly.
—“Research and Inferences on Divine Powers”
—“The Interaction Between the Energy Levels of Fragments and Storm Powers”
Xinghui quickly skimmed through the thin documents in his hand.
The deity had obtained the answers to his questions and confirmed the Sky Organization’s connection with the merfolk. He was eager to read the documents and briefly overlooked his unusual position on Yuanyuan’s shoulder.
The content wasn’t extensive, mainly detailing the origins of divine powers, stating that divine beings emerged from the abyss based on divine power, and that their abilities were similar to the mental powers of interstellar races.
The other document was more detailed, describing experiments on why divine powers and storms were mutually restrictive. It included attempts to reverse this restrictive relationship and some conclusions.
But why did Zhao Xiyuan have these documents, and why did the merfolk specifically give them to him?
Xinghui pondered this, then snapped back to reality and, still holding the documents, patted Yuanyuan’s head.
“How long are you going to hold me up?”
Don’t sneak in extra drama while handling official matters.
Yuanyuan grinned and set Xinghui down.
“There should be many divine fragments with the merfolk, enough to support various experiments. Their research on divine power must have started long ago. They have contacts; let’s catch this guy first.”
Xinghui handed the documents to Yuanyuan.
Yuanyuan had just read a few pages when a crisp ding sounded from the office communicator.
Xinghui and Yuanyuan looked up to see the light screen in the center of the office flicker twice, displaying something before them.
**Author’s Note:**
Yuanyuan: Watch me lift high!
Xinghui: I feel like his thought process is a bit off. Is it just my illusion?

I had been taking medicine for several days, and my cough had stopped for two days. I thought it was better and stopped the medication, but it came back the next day. I’ll obediently continue taking the medicine. The update was delayed due to the impact on my condition, but there will be more updates. I’ll try to catch up during the day or possibly do a big update tonight.
