After being moved to tears by the sworn enemy's pheromones - Chapter 82
It’s not an exaggeration to say that the field Gu Yu studies has great potential; it’s one of the disciplines most likely to change the world in the next few decades. Most of his classmates will continue their studies after completing their undergraduate degrees. But Shen Jin, having grown up in a life of instability, only wants to graduate quickly, find a job, and start earning money. It’s understandable.
The paths they would choose are not entirely the same.
Even though Gu Yu carefully explained the situation, he didn’t think Shen Jin would accept it right away.
As expected, Shen Jin held back whatever he wanted to say, quietly nodding and finishing his meal before saying he wanted to take a nap.
Gu Yu put down his chopsticks and followed him into the bedroom. As he bent over and gently lifted Shen Jin’s stubborn chin from behind, he wasn’t surprised to see a face full of grievance, on the verge of spiraling into despair.
To be honest, if Shen Jin weren’t afraid of pain, he probably would have climbed onto the window ledge and threatened to jump if Gu Yu dared to leave him for a long-distance relationship.
So, Gu Yu cupped Shen Jin’s face with both hands and smoothed out the muscles around his downturned mouth. “Is this the reason you think we won’t last long?”
Shen Jin didn’t want to admit it. His voice was distorted to the point of being almost unintelligible: “When you get into grad school, is breaking up with me the first thing you’ll do?”
There are plenty of examples of this happening before, but for them, this was undoubtedly irrational. Still, Gu Yu gently held Shen Jin’s cool face in his warm palms. He leaned close to Shen Jin’s ear and whispered, “That’s progress.”
Shen Jin barely had to move, and their faces would touch, so he had no choice but to lower his head. “I’m asking you a question. What are you even talking about…”
Seeing Shen Jin trying to avoid him, Gu Yu forcefully pinched his chin and brushed their noses together. “I said, the senior has made great progress.”
“In your fantasies, not only will I break up with you when I get into grad school, but I’ll also look down on you for having a lower education level. When I meet someone better and more excellent, I’ll immediately ditch you. You’ll have to cling to my leg, crying and begging me not to leave—too bad, I’ll still kick you away and throw you out. Ideally, it would be raining that day to mirror that time you foolishly waited for me in the rain.”
Even after such a cruel description, Shen Jin’s last bit of stubbornness was only to grab Gu Yu’s sleeve and hold on. After a long time, he finally murmured, “That… that’s not impossible.”
“Just remember to kick lightly when you do it… In that kind of melodramatic plot, we’d probably already have a kid.”
“No way.” Gu Yu lifted him up in one swift motion, placing Shen Jin on his lap. “If there’s no blood on the spot, it wouldn’t qualify as true melodrama.”
Gu Yu silently counted to five, and Shen Jin finally reacted. “Who are you calling a dog?!”
—At least Shen Jin still had the energy to protest, which meant he wasn’t as weighed down as before.
Gu Yu pulled him closer and sincerely tried to comfort him. “If anyone is bullying the senior, it’s me.”
“You always have been…” Shen Jin mumbled as he tightened his grip on Gu Yu’s clothes, soon wrapping both arms and legs around him, burying his face in Gu Yu’s shoulder.
Their hearts were almost beating in unison. Gu Yu rubbed the back of Shen Jin’s neck and asked, “How long have you been overthinking this?”
Through the soft friction of Shen Jin’s hair, he could feel the faint tremor in Gu Yu’s breath when he spoke.
There was caution, but also a hidden urgency. Gu Yu didn’t seem to mind Shen Jin’s inexplicable emotions during his rut period; on the contrary, he treated him with care and gentleness.
For this, Shen Jin felt guilty as he leaned against Gu Yu, answering honestly, “If I had to say… it probably started when I first heard about your great grades back in middle school.”
On the way back to campus today, Shen Jin already felt a bit exhausted. His heightened sense of smell made the gasoline fumes overwhelming, giving him a headache, and his stomach and reproductive cavity ached intermittently. Being as honest as possible with Gu Yu now, and trusting him to calm his anxiety and disappointment, was probably all he could do.
As expected, Gu Yu turned his face, puzzled. “So, you’ve been thinking about spending your life with me since you were 14?”
“Is that not allowed?” Shen Jin, who had just been so downcast, now felt like his rabbit ears were about to perk up in indignation. He even threw two light punches at Gu Yu’s chest. “You not only have good grades but also come from a wealthy family. If I don’t punch you and break your legs, how can I catch up to you?”
He had no real reason to doubt or worry about their future. Yet, he would imagine the worst-case scenarios and fear that he was depriving Gu Yu of opportunities he rightfully deserved.
“Sometimes, I wonder, if you hadn’t met me so early in life when you didn’t know any better, you would probably find someone with grades as good as yours, someone with a high education, and… and mutual attraction later on.”
Shen Jin rested his head against Gu Yu’s chest, greedily listening to his heartbeat. “So I keep thinking, am I preventing you from choosing the right person after your mind matures?”
Breathing in sync, their chests rose and fell together, pressing close even through their clothes. Gu Yu could clearly feel that his omega was more sensitive and uneasy than usual. He patted Shen Jin’s back and asked, “When your rut ends in a few days, will you regret being all sentimental and needing to be comforted in the middle of the day?”
Shen Jin clung to him like an octopus, refusing to let go, his voice low and mumbly but with no intention of backing down. “Whoever regrets is a pig.”
Hearing how certain he was, Gu Yu relaxed and closed his eyes, answering seriously, “According to your theory, I could be in my 80s, sitting in a wheelchair at a square dance, meeting my so-called true love. So, should I wait until I’ve picked out my coffin before deciding who the ‘right’ person is?”
While listening, Shen Jin stretched his legs, wrapping them more tightly around him. It seemed he had no effective rebuttal, but he still wasn’t entirely convinced.
Gu Yu gently pinched his fingers and, after a moment, spoke again. “Besides, there are probably hundreds of universities ranked higher than C University. Even if each one has an average of 20,000 students, that’s a million people. Do you think I could attract all of them?”
As if ready for a debate, Shen Jin pondered for a long while before indignantly asserting, “But… out of a million people, there must be someone who’s a better match for you. You can’t deny that.”
Gu Yu barely raised his eyebrow before Shen Jin started struggling in his final, desperate resistance. “You frowned. You’re annoyed. You don’t want to comfort me anymore!”
Gu Yu quickly tightened his arms around him to steady him, then pulled him into his embrace, gently patting his back to comfort him. “What are you talking about? I just wanted to argue but didn’t dare to contradict you, senior.”
“Am I that scary?” Shen Jin pouted, completely unaware that his **self during this period, when angry, was even more heart-melting than when he was being cute.
The little bunny stared at him with soft, wet eyes, trying to threaten Gu Yu: “You can argue however you want. I promise to spare your little life.”
“Oh—” Gu Yu drew out his tone, bending down to match Shen Jin’s level. “Since senior thinks someone else might be more ‘suitable’ for me, I might as well tour around all the top universities globally for some matchmaking practice and see who’s right. How about that?”
Shen Jin held his breath, glaring at him, his cheeks looking like soft pudding that would jiggle with a touch.
Gu Yu couldn’t resist poking him with his finger, but Shen Jin still refused to back down. “Fine, I’ll buy you a plane ticket right after, but make sure you find someone with conservative values. I can handle being the ‘second,’ but I doubt they’d accept it.”
Seeing the little bunny so serious and sulking, Gu Yu instinctively wanted to pull his finger back, but before he could, Shen Jin burrowed into his chest like a drill, seemingly intent on crushing his ribcage.
Gu Yu gave up resisting, allowing Shen Jin to “attack” with both hands and teeth. After tormenting him for three full minutes, Shen Jin suddenly fell back, laying down like a little seal, slapping his limbs on either side and dejectedly saying, “What do I do? I can’t calm down. I’m more sensitive, serious, and pathetic than I thought. You might as well laugh at me.”
“Really?” Gu Yu didn’t hold back the laugh he had stifled for the past three minutes. Seeing the little seal go from flailing its limbs to lying still, he leaned down and gently stroked Shen Jin’s back, showing that he still had some conscience left.
He then pulled Shen Jin up, laid down himself, and let Shen Jin lie comfortably on his chest. As the fluffy head nuzzled against his chin, Gu Yu continued, “Why doesn’t senior consider that for every person smarter and more outstanding than you, there’s someone smarter and more outstanding than me to match? What right do I have to worry about someone else’s business? The only difference is that if I had met you a day later, I’d have had someone I liked a day later. That’s it.”
What Gu Yu emphasized was something they both already knew, but Shen Jin, lying on his chest, seemed to be moved as if he’d just received five million dollars, his ears turning a soft pink like peach-flavored mochi. “Really?”
“You really won’t like anyone else?”
“Mm, never did before, and definitely won’t in the future.” Gu Yu’s arms held him tightly, perfectly fitting. “Besides you, I only like Mianmian.”
In the exchange of heated breaths, the little bunny nudged him with his bent leg. “…Try not to lump me together with a little turtle.”
“Haven’t you two been in the same group since the Tortoise and the Hare race?” Gu Yu tightened his hug, making no sense whatsoever. “And besides, you didn’t even outrun him.”
Shen Jin’s resistance was futile. He struggled, scratching at Gu Yu’s Adam’s apple for a while before saying, “I know you wouldn’t do that, but…”
“But what?” Gu Yu raised his head, stretching his neck to make it easier for Shen Jin to scratch. “This morning, senior was pretty firm, wasn’t he? Didn’t you tell my dad that if there was any abandoning to be done, it’d be you abandoning me?”
Shen Jin blatantly lied, “As if a great lover like me would say something like that…”
Gu Yu leaned in closer, teasing, “But you did.”
He only meant to tease Shen Jin, but Shen Jin, his brows drooping, seemed to take it seriously. Not only did he stammer without retorting, but he also crawled off Gu Yu and obediently showed him a pitiful expression. “I… I was just saying that. Don’t believe it, okay?”
Sensing he’d gone too far, Gu Yu was about to move when Shen Jin suddenly hugged his waist tightly, whining and mumbling in his explanation.
“I was lying when I talked to your dad. How could you not tell?”
“We’ve been apart for over a year. It wasn’t because I was lazy that I didn’t like anyone else. It’s because I’ve always liked you. I even made up my mind to live like a widow if I had to.”
“And I never liked your family’s money or wanted you to inherit the business, like I said.”
“I’m so pure and I like you so much. Even if you were so broke you had to live off the air in the Northwest, I’d filter the air quality for you. Where are you going to find someone like me?”
Gu Yu, of course, knew it was all a lie, but hearing Shen Jin sound so aggrieved yet sincere, instead of feeling sorry, he felt an even stronger urge to tease the other’s bashful nerves. “Really? Who calls themselves pure?”
Shen Jin, frustrated and about to explode, tightened his arms around Gu Yu’s waist like a punishment. “Doesn’t matter. You have to believe me.”
To Gu Yu, the omega in his arms felt more like a 200-pound boxer “acting cute.”
He quickly surrendered, assuring Shen Jin he believed him. Once Shen Jin was finally comforted, Gu Yu deepened his voice and said, “It’s fun teasing you, senior—but I’d rather you know that you’re cute and outstanding, someone countless people wish they could have.”
“Ever since we met, so many people have liked you. It’s honestly my honor to have been chosen by you and liked by you. And my degree and family background, they’re just some of the rare merits I have.”
“I think anyone you love will live a happy, joyful life. But for me, it’s different. I don’t even have the ability to live my life well on my own.”
He had seen Shen Jin at his most radiant and wild, but Gu Yu knew he could never have or deserve someone so pure and passionate. Back then, just coming to this school and seeing Shen Jin one more time had already been the extent of his hopes and obsession.
At that time, he never imagined Shen Jin would actually want to spend a lifetime with someone like him.
The moon had indeed once shone on him, but he was also painfully aware that he wasn’t the only one gazing at it.
Listening to Shen Jin’s steady breathing, Gu Yu lowered his gaze and pressed his lips together, quietly twirling a strand of Shen Jin’s hair in his fingers, content to just lie there with him.
But in just that moment, Shen Jin’s ears turned a deep red. He suddenly looked up at Gu Yu, puzzled. “What do you mean, ‘so many people have liked me’? Did you believe the things I said?”
Gu Yu snapped out of it, meeting Shen Jin’s gaze seriously for a full ten seconds. Confirming that Shen Jin wasn’t joking, he couldn’t help but respond with a bit of jealousy, “Your class’s sports captain, the glasses-wearing guy from the neighboring class, two girls from the dance team, that pair of twins who always hung out with you, and the senior downstairs, not to mention your neighbor’s son, and on and on… didn’t they all like you?”
At this point, Gu Yu thought it might even include Gu Qingqing, whom Shen Jin had never met.
The more Gu Yu thought about it, the angrier he got. He pulled Shen Jin back onto his chest, ready to accuse him one by one of his past “crimes.”
Shen Jin, his chin hurting from the impact, didn’t even have time to argue and could only express his confusion about Gu Yu’s accusations: “When did they ever like me?”
He explained: “Yong just helped me grab some baked yogurt from the third window in the cafeteria every day because there wasn’t much of it, and he’s fast since he runs track. The girls asked me for help with math because, you know, I’m good at it. And those little bros of mine, they have to give me extra gifts for my birthday as a tribute. Sure, I’m not a fan of scarves, gloves, and crystal balls, but…”
As for the senior sister, it’s totally normal for her to ask me to check if her bow was messy during such an important event like hosting the May Fourth Youth Festival performance. And the neighbor’s son was only eleven or twelve at the time; he just liked to hug me while playing. How could you think that way about an elementary school student?
Gu Yu’s breathing gradually became shaky, almost wanting to toss Shen Jin off the bed. “That kid was already almost 1.7 meters tall!”
“I don’t care if he’s 1.7 or 1.8 meters tall,” Shen Jin retorted, pointing a finger at him. “Aren’t you just jealous and overthinking?”
Gu Yu pouted, turned his head away, and refused to speak to Shen Jin. “The senior doesn’t understand anything.”
Shen Jin, confused, reached out to try and turn Gu Yu’s face, but it was futile. He had to tilt his own head and move closer. “What’s wrong? Why so suddenly?”
He squeezed Gu Yu’s soft, stubborn lips with his fingers. “Come on, let’s talk this out, little strawberry.”
Just moments ago, the little strawberry was putting on a mature alpha demeanor. Now, however, he was throwing a tantrum right in front of his omega, saying, “I’ve been secretly stashing roasted yogurt in your desk every day, hoping that you wouldn’t hang out with the sports committee leader anymore. But now, you’re still calling him Brother Yong…”
“I didn’t even go find him,” Shen Jin was about to say that Brother Yong volunteered, but he quickly stopped himself and instead asked, “Wait, those roasted yogurts were from you? I thought someone was trying to poison me, so I didn’t dare drink them.”
The air was silent for a few seconds. Gu Yu clenched his teeth and denied it, “It wasn’t me. Drink it or don’t, I don’t care.”
“Come on,” Shen Jin tried to salvage the situation. “Don’t be mad… I didn’t know you sent those yogurts back then. I was planning to give them to you.”
Gu Yu glanced at him. “Really? Why were you planning to give them to me?”
Shen Jin squeezed his eyes shut. He knew he should say something like, “Because I’m so in love with you,” but instead, he blurted out the truth. “Because I thought they were poisoned, and giving them to you seemed like a good idea…”
With a smack, Gu Yu frowned and slapped Shen Jin on the lower back. Shen Jin couldn’t dodge in time, so he pleaded while admitting, “But I didn’t give them to you in the end!” He then leaned in, grinning, “Babe, you hurt me, how do you plan to compensate?”
Gu Yu usually didn’t mind Shen Jin’s cocky attitude, but right now, his gaze and tone carried a subtle threat. “Tonight, I’ll make sure you know that ‘husband’ isn’t a word you can call yourself. You’ll be the one crying for mercy.”
Shen Jin shrank his shoulders and muttered twice, “But it’s New Year’s,” before declaring his defiance. “If you think I’ll call you husband, you’ve got no chance.”
Gu Yu huffed coldly and swiftly flipped over to get up. “Just remember to get your absorbent blanket ready later.”
His sudden movement tossed Shen Jin, making him flip over like a turtle on the bed. Though Shen Jin was both angry and frustrated, his mind was filled with countless images flashing by.
Finally, Shen Jin cautiously asked, “That ghostly figure that kept sneaking looks at me in the hallway every day… Was that you?”
“Was it you who gave me an umbrella both times the forecast suddenly predicted heavy rain?”
“And that time we wore matching jackets… Did you do that on purpose? I thought you were trying to outshine me—”
The more he spoke, the more it didn’t feel right. Gu Yu covered his mouth with his hand, growling, “Who bought the same jacket as you? All men’s jackets look alike, you must’ve mixed them up. I wouldn’t wear a cheap jacket that only cost 168 yuan.”
Shen Jin couldn’t speak with his mouth covered, but his eyes were curved into trembling crescents, staring at Gu Yu with a smile.
When Gu Yu finally looked away and let go, Shen Jin sat up, teasing, “For someone so particular, you sure remember the exact price pretty well.”
It turned out that all those little joys he thought were coincidences during their youth were actually intentional, orchestrated by the person right in front of him.
A warm current flowed into Shen Jin’s chest, and the once impenetrable clouds seemed to part, letting light shine through, making his smile even more radiant.
Gu Yu was at a loss for words, and before he could come up with an excuse, Shen Jin suddenly hugged him, pulling at his clothes, and called his name softly. “Gu Yu… No matter how pessimistic I get, I believe we’ll always be together.”
The prize he won at the little shop downstairs might not have been real, but Gu Yu made him realize that from now on, this happiness would be real.
The sunlight was warm, and Gu Yu pressed Shen Jin’s head down gently, turning it aside so they wouldn’t make eye contact. “Have you figured it out yet? No need for me to say it, I know.”
Shen Jin, however, insisted on looking at him. Gu Yu had no choice but to pull him into his arms, hiding his flushed face. After a long silence, he spoke earnestly, “I still have a few years to figure out which school to apply to.”
“I can’t bear to be away from you, but I also want to make the best effort for our future.”
“So, for now, all I can promise you is what I can control—even if we have to live in different cities for a few years after graduation, I’ll save all my money and time to visit you as often as possible, okay?”
Without the support of family or elders, Gu Yu couldn’t easily give up his education, and Shen Jin wouldn’t let him. This was likely the path they would choose.
Shen Jin would indeed have doubts and worries, even wondering if they could overcome all obstacles and stay together. But only Gu Yu understood that Shen Jin simply needed a sense of security, not that he was being unreasonable.
Right now, Shen Jin lowered his head and clenched his fist, nodding seriously twice.
He said, “Okay. Whether it’s long-distance or even in different countries, I can wait.”
“I can even give up joining the team I’m in touch with now. Wherever you go, I’ll find a job there. Even if you go abroad for school, I’ll find a way to join a team in Europe or North America.”
“Don’t worry. Actually, EU and NA teams are pretty open to hiring Chinese and Korean coaches, as long as there’s no major language barrier. I’ll start studying English next semester, and all the time I’ve spent trash-talking on the NA server won’t go to waste.”
After an earnest and confident analysis, Shen Jin began to emphasize how he’d been watching English shows without subtitles. Gu Yu, buried in his chest, couldn’t even feel down anymore. He raised his hand to cover Shen Jin’s mouth. “Whatever kind of shows you’re watching, it’s probably best if I don’t know.”
Shen Jin nodded quietly in his arms, muttering, “One more look from you, and you’ll throw me to the turtles.”
Even though Gu Yu knew he was pretending to behave, he couldn’t help but hold him tightly in his embrace.
Gu Yu could already imagine how Shen Jin would be alone—eating, sleeping, or even getting sick. If they really lived apart, with Shen Jin’s personality, he probably wouldn’t even tell him, not wanting to worry him.
That’s why, after a long silence, Gu Yu squeezed Shen Jin’s hand and said, “In this matter, I might owe you another debt.”
Switching teams, finding a job, or moving abroad wouldn’t be as easy and straightforward as Shen Jin made it seem.
No matter whether they’d face a long-distance relationship, on Gu Yu’s academic journey, Shen Jin would have to make sacrifices and compromises.
“Then you better treat me twice as well from now on.” Shen Jin gave him a light punch and continued, “You earn the money, do the housework, and if we have kids, you take care of them too. Before the marriage, give me three billion. Afterward, the house, car, and all the assets will be in my name. If we divorce, don’t even think about taking a single penny, and you have to leave me with two broken teeth as a souvenir.”
Faced with such excessive demands, Gu Yu still bent down, burying his face into Shen Jin’s soft, fragrant clothes, and agreed. Naturally, he held him tightly, refusing to let go.
After patting Gu Yu’s back for a while, Shen Jin took a deep breath and, with a half-complaining, half-comforting tone, said, “Alright, today’s matter is settled—if you don’t let go soon, my legs are going numb. Do you need me to feed you some milk before you let go, little one?”
Perhaps the future could only be left to time, but at least for now, he had enough reason to believe that the person in front of him would always respond to his love with tenderness, and neither of them would ever betray each other’s true feelings.
In the warm breeze, Gu Yu immediately jumped up, his face flushed red. “Don’t call me little one.”
Shen Jin returned to his usual self, quickly responding with, “Okay, wife,”—and before Gu Yu could grab him by the ankle, he rolled over and onto the bed, clearly teasing him and playing around.
After tussling for a while, Shen Jin’s voice softened, noticing Gu Yu’s eyes were no longer red. “Gu Yu… I want to rest a bit longer, so I won’t help with the New Year’s Eve dinner, okay?”
As he rubbed his tired eyes, Shen Jin was also thinking about when to give Gu Yu the jade comb his great-grandfather had left behind. Gu Yu, snapping back to reality, anxiously touched his slightly sunken stomach. “Is it… is it because the medicine I bought isn’t working?”
“Of course not.” Seeing him like that, Shen Jin made an effort to relax his expression and reassure him. “Sometimes no medicine will work, unless you castrate me—got it?”
Hearing this, Gu Yu sat there stunned for a moment before frowning and pulling the curtains. When he turned back, he looked as forlorn as an abandoned wolf pup.
Shen Jin reached out his hand, but Gu Yu grabbed it first, saying, “I’m right here. I’ll stay until you fall asleep, then I’ll go make dinner. Do you want me to give you a massage?”
“No need for a massage, and you don’t need to stay. I’ll just lie down for a bit; I’m not really sleeping.” Shen Jin wrapped himself tightly in the soft quilt and grinned. “It’s just the two of us; no need to make it too fancy.”
Gu Yu sulked a little but still had the energy to argue, “Oh, I suppose I could reluctantly leave out the spiciest dishes from the full-course banquet.”
Shen Jin could only chuckle helplessly and nod in agreement before relaxing and holding Gu Yu’s hand as he closed his eyes.
Even though Shen Jin said he wasn’t going to sleep, Gu Yu stayed by his side for a long time. Once he was sure Shen Jin wasn’t feeling too bad, he placed a phone next to his hand and said, “That geography documentary you liked has a new episode. If you get bored lying down, you can watch it. There’s also a list of movies in the favorites—you can check them out too. Is there anything you’d like to eat? I’ll make it and bring it over.”
“Uh…” Shen Jin racked his brain. “I’d like some fries with extra salt. But Danish pastries would be nice too, and those yogurt bars from last time—”
“That much?” Gu Yu pinched his cheek. “You think I’ll make every single thing just to spoil you?”
Before Shen Jin could get up and beg for mercy, Gu Yu scratched his chin and got up. “I’ll make small portions of each. You’re already feeling bad during your heat, so I don’t want you to overeat and miss dinner.”
Wrapped up in his quilt like a fluffy milk bun, Shen Jin hesitated for a moment before quietly mustering the courage to say, “Yeah, I’m not feeling great, but… there are other ways to ease the symptoms during a heat…”
“What ways?” Gu Yu paused, intrigued. “I’ve read a lot of material and consulted doctors—are there more effective methods?”
With this question, Shen Jin suddenly got nervous, regretting bringing it up in the first place. He felt it would’ve been better to just continue worrying about future troubles.
So, all he could do was secretly grip the bedsheet under the blanket, praying Gu Yu wouldn’t take his words seriously. But Gu Yu persisted, “Should I play some music for you…?”
“…” Shen Jin buried his face in the soft coral fleece pillow, hiding the flush of embarrassment spreading across his cheeks. He couldn’t bring himself to meet Gu Yu’s gaze, so he hurriedly changed the subject. “W-What music? It’s not like we’re doing prenatal education for a baby…”
Gu Yu, still puzzled, added, “But there are authoritative studies that prove music does have a certain calming effect.”
He thought back to a few papers he had read and analyzed briefly, but sensing that Shen Jin didn’t seem to like the topic, Gu Yu reconsidered and asked again tentatively, “Is it because it would cost a lot of money and you’re hesitant to spend it?”
At this point, Shen Jin was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan, his ears burning as he stammered, “Of course not… If spending money could solve it, I’d sell you if I had to!”
Now Gu Yu was even more confused.
He proposed several more ideas, each of which Shen Jin immediately rejected. This left Gu Yu licking his dry lips in frustration before helplessly asking, “Should we really go as far as castration…?”
Shen Jin was silent for a few seconds, then, suddenly turning red with anger, he kicked the blanket away, nearly hitting Gu Yu. “You might as well just finish me off right now! At least I could secure a good burial plot in the back of the university campus—”
Clearly… all it would take is a permanent mark to help alleviate the symptoms during heat and provide Shen Jin with more comfort. But Gu Yu, as an alpha, seemed oblivious to this and kept dodging the subject. Frustrated, Shen Jin curled up sadly in the blanket, muttering to himself as he tried to let it go.
“Forget it. It’s just some old wives’ remedies; probably wouldn’t work anyway. I think I’m a bit hungry now—you can’t let me starve…”
Gu Yu, thinking Shen Jin’s emotional shift was normal, nodded. He leaned down to give Shen Jin a comforting kiss on the forehead, unaware that the little bunny, already trembling with his tail tucked in, was feeling utterly miserable. Then Gu Yu turned and headed for the kitchen, planning to make some extra treats for him.
