After being moved to tears by the sworn enemy's pheromones - Chapter 85
On the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year, Shen Jin groggily opened his eyes, realizing that for once, he had woken up earlier than Gu Yu. The other’s fluffy hair was pressed against his shoulder, and his breathing was noticeably heavier than usual.
“Are you really that tired, little one?” Shen Jin raised his hand and gently poked Gu Yu’s cheek. “If I had known you’d be this tired, I would’ve used more suppressants during your heat—”
Just as he was lowering his head, about to kiss Gu Yu’s forehead, Gu Yu suddenly turned over and woke up, gritting his teeth. “…I’m not tired.”
Shen Jin froze for a moment, then raised an eyebrow, his playful smile full of disbelief. Seeing how the alpha was pouting stubbornly, he finally curled up into a cozy ball and snuggled into Gu Yu’s arms. “Alright, you’re not tired, but we can still sleep a little longer.”
Gu Yu snorted softly and held Shen Jin close. Shen Jin stretched out his leg, nudging his foot towards Gu Yu’s hand. “Cold.”
Gu Yu ran his hand down Shen Jin’s leg but quickly realized Shen Jin was lying. “You’re pretty warm, actually.”
Shen Jin insisted on tucking his foot into Gu Yu’s hand. “What, are you disgusted by me?”
Gu Yu grabbed his warm foot and said, “Yeah, and I’ll have to wash my hands with alcohol and disinfect them later.”
“You usually love touching me, and now you’re turning on me?” Shen Jin scoffed. “An omega like me even has feet that smell like milk. You should be grateful.”
It was rare for Shen Jin not to have cold feet, so Gu Yu chuckled and said, “Hurry up and sleep. We’ll have to get up later and make tangyuan.”
Cooking a bowl of tangyuan early on New Year’s Day is a common Southern tradition. Shen Jin tilted his head, deliberately teasing the strawberry-scented alpha. “Are there strawberry-filled tangyuan? I want some.”
Gu Yu looked down at him and said, “You can make them yourself, senior. Just don’t force me to eat them if you end up with a pot of bloody soup.”
“…” Shen Jin frowned, then forcefully moved closer, nibbling on Gu Yu’s Adam’s apple until he couldn’t resist and leaned down for a kiss. But Shen Jin turned his head away, denying him. “Didn’t you say I was forcing you?”
Frustrated at being rejected, the alpha stubbornly nudged him, making a show of it until the clock struck 11 AM. Only then did they slowly get up to prepare breakfast.
When Shen Jin picked up his phone, he saw someone in the group chat asking, “What did Gu Yu post on his Moments?” and “How could such a beautiful New Year’s Day end so abruptly on the very first day?” Shen Jin hurriedly opened the post and found that Gu Yu had uploaded countless “candid shots” of him over the New Year.
—There was one of him seriously counting orange slices while settling a bill, one of him angrily crouching on the couch with his back and butt facing everyone, one of him sneaking onto the balcony to eat ice cream, and one of him focused on his coursework with his phone in hand. The most recent shot showed him curled up in the alpha’s arms, and it was unclear if he was crying or laughing.
Of course, these weren’t the most embarrassing ones. The most humiliating one was a collage of seven or eight photos, each showing him playing video games, and in the top right corner, his negative in-game score was visible.
Normally, even when Shen Jin lost a game, his KDA (Kill/Death/Assist) ratio rarely dropped below 1.
The only person who could capture such embarrassing scores from the king of the jungle was clearly someone very close to him.
Oh, crap. Shen Jin’s ears turned red as he rushed to confront Gu Yu: “What did you post on your Moments?”
But his WeChat reply had already been quickly delivered to their close friends’ phones: “My baby loves me so much. How can we not show off our love on Moments during the New Year? I’ll kiss my baby later.”
