As they were not a real couple, Bai Xiangxing was assigned to the guest bedroom on the first floor. While it was slightly smaller, Bai Xiangxing didn’t mind, until the new clothes he had just bought were delivered, and he got ready to take a shower. That’s when his mood soured.

It turned out there was only a shower, no bathtub.

Bai Xiangxing could endure, but his idea of endurance meant for a short period, not for an entire year. Since he had already married Shi Zhen, they wouldn’t divorce within a year. “Who is it?” Shi Zhen’s voice came from inside.

“It’s me,” Bai Xiangxing replied.

“Wait a moment.”

Bai Xiangxing obediently waited at the door. Shortly, Shi Zhen, shirtless, with a T-shirt in hand, walked out from his closet.

His muscles were well-defined, strong and fit. His physique was impressive.

Oh, there were scars on his waist and abdomen, which added to his masculine charm. This was exactly the kind of body Bai Xiangxing admired.

Shi Zhen, who hadn’t expected his door to be unlocked, was initially surprised but then found himself feeling uncomfortable under Bai Xiangxing’s intense gaze. Unconsciously, he retreated back into his closet.

Once inside, Shi Zhen realized that something wasn’t right. Why had he hidden himself in the closet? He should just put on his shirt. It was only his upper body; he was wearing pants, after all.

Bai Xiangxing, watching this scene, rolled his eyes and said, “Are you hiding from me like an Omega?”

Shi Zhen: “…I’m not, but you are.”

Shi Zhen suddenly realized why he had hidden earlier. It was because Bai Xiangxing was now an Omega, and as the saying went, Alphas and Omegas couldn’t be in close proximity.

With that, Shi Zhen released Bai Xiangxing, went into his closet, messed up a few pieces of clothing, and came out holding them. Just before leaving, he reminded Bai Xiangxing, “Don’t borrow Xiaoning’s bathtub.”

Bai Xiangxing, who had poked his head out from the second floor, replied for Shi Zhen, “We’re switching rooms.”

Shi Ning responded with an understanding “Oh.”

Bai Xiangxing asked, “Xiaoning, can I borrow your shower supplies? They smell really nice.”

Shi Ning agreed, “Sure, I’ll go get them for you.”

Bai Xiangxing said, “I’ll start filling the bathtub. Just bring them to me later.”

Shi Ning happily said, “Okay.”

Back on the first floor, at the guest bedroom’s door, Shi Zhen gripped the doorknob tightly, causing it to snap. He had a deep sense of crisis. Was his decision to save Bai Xiangxing right? Could it be that he had brought a wolf into his house?

While Shi Zhen was struggling with these thoughts, Shi Ning had already taken his shower supplies and was heading to Bai Xiangxing’s, no, Shi Zhen’s room.

Shi Zhen hurriedly called out, “Xiaoning, wait.”

Shi Ning lowered his head in confusion, “Brother?”

Shi Zhen took the items from Shi Ning and said, “I’ll take them over.”

Shi Zhen entered the bathroom, where Bai Xiangxing was bent over, checking the water temperature in the bathtub. When he heard someone enter, he turned around to see Shi Zhen. In the process, Shi Zhen couldn’t help but notice that Bai Xiangxing’s shirt was wet over a large area, clinging to his skin, and two faint red marks were visible on his chest.

Shi Zhen’s eyelids felt like they were burning, and he quickly averted his gaze, facing the other way.

Shi Zhen said, “I’m sorry.”

Bai Xiangxing had seen Shi Zhen’s bundle of shower supplies and was curious. “Why are you apologizing? And why did you bring them here? Where’s Xiaoning?”

Shi Zhen’s eyelids were still burning, and he replied, “He had something to do.”

Bai Xiangxing said, “What could be so urgent? His room is just a few steps away.”

“Sure,” Shi Zhen said without turning around. He placed the items on a shelf beside him and quickly left, as if he were running for his life.

“Is he angry?” Bai Xiangxing scratched his head. “I told him I could borrow Xiaoning’s bathtub, and he didn’t agree. Now he’s suddenly upset. Such an unpredictable man. No wonder no Omega likes him.”

Outside the room, Shi Zhen felt his face and the part of his arm that had been touched by Bai Xiangxing were still burning. His mind was in turmoil.

In his subconscious, he still saw Bai Xiangxing as an Alpha. So when Bai Xiangxing got close to his younger brother, Shi Ning, he thought he was trying to take advantage of Xiaoning. And this guy had a history of chasing after Omegas, even back in high school. Shi Zhen didn’t look at him and was silently sipping his congee.

Bai Xiangxing remarked, “You can tell your family is really going bankrupt just by looking at this breakfast. It’s so frugal.”

Shi Zhen raised his gaze and looked at him, “Shi Ning made this.”

Shi Ning was just coming out of the kitchen with a plate of food, and when he heard his name, he curiously joined the conversation, “What’s going on?”

Bai Xiangxing, who had been critical just a moment ago, suddenly changed his expression, smiling warmly as he accepted the plate from Shi Ning. He praised, “All this food is made by you, Shi Ning. You’re really amazing to prepare such a hearty breakfast.”

Shi Ning blushed, not used to such direct compliments. “It’s nothing, just a few dishes I made. By the way, Big Brother said you’re not feeling well, so I specially cooked some nutritious congee for you. Try it and see if you like it.”

Bai Xiangxing replied, “I love it. This congee looks delicious at first sight.”

Wasn’t it just “frugal” a moment ago? Shi Zhen silently thought.

Bai Xiangxing pulled Shi Ning to sit next to him. “Come on, Xingxing-ge will serve you the congee.”

Shi Ning said, “I can do it myself.”

Bai Xiangxing insisted, “Xiaoning made the congee especially for me. Let me do something for you in return, or I won’t be able to enjoy it.” With that, he served Shi Ning a bowl of congee, placing it within easy reach.

Shi Ning was delighted. “Thank you, Xingxing-ge. You’re so kind to me.”

Bai Xiangxing replied, “What’s this? When Xingxing-ge earns money in the future, I’ll give you an allowance.” I won’t let you save money anymore.

Here it was again, the complete set of tricks Bai Xiangxing used to pamper Omegas back in high school.
