- Chapter 56 - Are We Considered Together?
In the early morning, sunlight streamed into the room through the window, casting a warm glow on the entwined figures.
Shi Zhen slowly opened his eyes, squinting against the bright sunlight, then looked down at the person in his arms. Bai Xiangxing was still asleep, breathing steadily, cheeks flushed, eyebrows slightly furrowed in exhaustion.
Shi Zhen’s lips, which had been curved in a smile, suddenly tightened. Had he been too much last night? But Xingxing had said that if he wanted to keep him, he couldn’t stop, so he naturally had to do his best to keep him.
Had he succeeded? Shi Zhen’s gaze lingered once again on Bai Xiangxing’s features, his lips curving up again in a warm and satisfied smile. Although Bai Xiangxing hadn’t admitted it verbally, it should be considered successful.
“You jerk, I’ll bite you to death.” Bai Xiangxing muttered, rolling out of Shi Zhen’s embrace.
Shi Zhen chuckled and, once he was asleep again, gently pulled him back into his arms. Bai Xiangxing slept deeply, showing no reaction, and continued sleeping soundly.
Shi Zhen held him like that until there was some movement outside, indicating that Shi Ning had gotten up. Reluctantly, he let go of Bai Xiangxing and got up. The sunlight outside was shining directly into the room, and since there was no one blocking it anymore, Bai Xiangxing began to feel uncomfortable and squirmed under the covers.
Seeing this, Shi Zhen hurriedly went to the window and closed the curtains to block out the sunlight. They had forgotten to close the windows last night, but luckily, this was a standalone villa, so it wasn’t too embarrassing.
After closing the curtains, Shi Zhen returned to the bedside and carefully freed Bai Xiangxing’s head from the covers. Sleeping with the head covered wouldn’t cause suffocation.
In this position, Shi Zhen stared at Bai Xiangxing for a while before putting on his coat and heading out of the room. His clothes were still downstairs, so he needed to go down to freshen up.
Feeling good, Shi Zhen went downstairs, and halfway there, he saw Shi Ning standing on the first floor, looking at him with surprise. “Brother, did you… move back?”
Shi Zhen nodded with a smile. “Yes, I moved back.”
Thanks to Xiao Ning’s reminder, he would pack up and move back in a while.
Shi Ning seemed even happier than Shi Zhen himself, bouncing and cheering excitedly. Shi Zhen quickly stopped him. “Xingxing hasn’t woken up yet, keep your voice down.”
Shi Ning covered his mouth in a panic, then looked ambiguously at his older brother’s room on the second floor and, after a moment, gave a thumbs-up to his brother.
Shi Zhen sighed with a smile. “Xingxing is sensitive, don’t do this in front of him.”
It had been hard enough to get him, and if he got angry and left, he wouldn’t even have a place to cry.
“Understood.” Shi Ning nodded repeatedly. “I’ll cook for Xingxing myself today.”
Since they had a home robot, Shi Ning hadn’t cooked in a long time.
Shi Zhen didn’t object. After his brother ran to the kitchen, he returned to the guest room. After a simple wash-up, he began packing his things. He had packed and unpacked these things three times in the past week, so he was very skilled, and it didn’t take long to finish. After less than ten minutes, he carried two boxes upstairs. While Bai Xiangxing was still asleep, Shi Zhen arranged his own daily necessities together with Xingxing’s.
After doing all this, Shi Zhen thought for a moment, then sent a message to Wang Ping, telling him not to come over this morning.
He had thought Bai Xiangxing might sleep until noon, but to his surprise, Bai Xiangxing woke up around eight.
“Awake?”
As soon as Bai Xiangxing opened his eyes, he saw Shi Zhen’s enlarged smiling face. At first, he was a little confused, but then memories of last night came flooding back, and his body’s exhaustion came back with them. Furious, Bai Xiangxing gritted his teeth, “You jerk, didn’t I say do it only once?”
He had wanted to say this last night, but by then, he had no strength left and didn’t know if he had said it or not.
Shi Zhen coughed awkwardly, not sure how to respond.
“I’m asking you, are you mute?” Bai Xiangxing was angry. They hadn’t even been in heat last night, and he dared to treat him like this. Was this guy asking for death?
Shi Zhen dared not remain silent, feeling embarrassed. “You said not to stop.”
Bai Xiangxing was taken aback, remembering the phrase he had said last night, “Don’t stop,” and he became even angrier: “Was that a signal from me?”
He had said he couldn’t stop when he resisted, but later on, he clearly stopped resisting and even cooperated actively. This guy couldn’t possibly not feel it; he was deliberately taking advantage of him.
Shi Zhen’s expression was evasive. Well, he admitted, he knew that wasn’t a signal, but at that moment, he felt Bai Xiangxing’s initiative, and how could he stop then? If he could stop, he wouldn’t be an Alpha. Plus, Bai Xiangxing had said he felt uncomfortable, so he naturally had to use more actions to dispel that discomfort. He personally felt that once wasn’t enough.
Seeing him like this, Bai Xiangxing couldn’t help but laugh angrily, “What are you pretending to be dead for?”
Shi Zhen didn’t want to pretend to be dead either. He knew he should comfort him at this moment, but he really didn’t know how to comfort people. Seeing Bai Xiangxing’s face getting darker and darker, Shi Zhen suddenly took off his shirt and turned his back to Bai Xiangxing. “Bite me.”
Bai Xiangxing looked at the almost blood-stained bite marks on his dark shoulders, his face reddening.
“What do you mean? Are you trying to act pitiful again?”Â
“No.” Shi Zhen shook his head. “If you’re angry, you can continue biting. I promise not to dodge.”
You’re the one dodging. When I bit you last night, you dodged!
Feeling defeated, Bai Xiangxing suddenly lost the heart to argue with Shi Zhen further. He realized that this guy had low emotional intelligence, and if he continued to argue with him, he would only get angrier.
“Get out, I need to change clothes,” Bai Xiangxing said.
Shi Zhen obediently put on his clothes and left the room.
Only then did Bai Xiangxing get up, and as he lifted the covers, he couldn’t help but curse again.
“Darn it, couldn’t you leave me a good spot?” Walking to the bathroom, brushing his teeth and washing his face, he didn’t take a shower. When he woke up, Bai Xiangxing felt refreshed. Shi Zhen must have already helped him shower, although he had no memory of it.
There’s some progress, at least he knows to help me shower. Otherwise, I’d have to divorce him.
Bai Xiangxing thought bitterly, reaching for his toothbrush cup. His gaze suddenly froze because he saw two toothbrush cups, and one of them he had only seen once before, belonging to Shi Zhen.
Looking elsewhere, towels, slippers, razors… all the daily necessities were almost doubled.
“Don’t pretend you don’t know, everything’s been moved in,” Bai Xiangxing cursed, but when he looked up at the mirror, he found himself smiling.
After tidying up and changing clothes in the dressing room, Bai Xiangxing noticed the extra clothes there. Shi Zhen didn’t have many clothes, only occupying a small corner of his dressing room, but the two different styles of clothes hanging together looked out of place, and he noticed it at a glance.
Bai Xiangxing stared at them for a while, silently thinking: Did I not notice before that Shi Zhen had so few clothes? Should I buy him some more clothes? And should the dressing room be expanded?
Once everything was in order, Bai Xiangxing returned to his usual self and went downstairs to eat.
In the dining room on the first floor, Shi Zhen, Shi Ning, and Xiang Rong were all waiting at the table. When Shi Zhen saw him coming over, he stood up and pulled out a chair for him. As soon as Bai Xiangxing sat down, Shi Ning piled up delicious food in front of him, almost tangible with joy from head to toe.
Bai Xiangxing knew that Shi Ning probably knew about it, and that was understandable. After all, living in the same house, it was impossible to hide it.
At the dining table, the only one who seemed relatively normal was Xiang Rong. He only glanced at Bai Xiangxing when he came down and then started eating. He had been hungry for a while, and since Bai Xiangxing hadn’t come down earlier and Shi Ning hadn’t let him eat, now that Bai Xiangxing was here, he reached out to grab a steamed bun. These were the steamed buns Shi Ning had made himself, and he hadn’t had them in a long time. But just as he was about to reach for them, the plate of steamed buns was pushed and delivered to Bai Xiangxing’s side by Shi Ning.
Xiang Rong pursed his lips, shifted his target, and reached for a flower roll, but it disappeared. Reaching for the poached eggs, they were gone too, reaching for the pickles, they were gone as well.
Xiang Rong was furious. They didn’t even let him eat pickles; this was outrageous!
“Are you pregnant?” Xiang Rong suddenly asked.
The table fell silent, and the first to react was Shi Ning. He remembered what his older brother had told him and glared at Xiang Rong anxiously. “What nonsense are you talking about? Don’t talk nonsense.”
“Not pregnant? I see you guys are so nervous, I thought he was pregnant,” Xiang Rong stared at the pile of breakfast in front of Bai Xiangxing with dead fish eyes.
The other three remained silent.
After breakfast, Bai Xiangxing insisted on going to work because Shi Zhen had notified Wang Ping not to come, so he had to act as the driver and personally send Bai Xiangxing to the company.
“Did you buy all the battle armor?” Bai Xiangxing asked.
“They’re all bought. They asked me to thank you,” Shi Zhen replied.
“It wasn’t much money. If you need anything else in the future, just let me know.” Bai Xiangxing was extravagantly generous.
Shi Zhen glanced at him, nodded, and didn’t refuse.
“And… about Grandpa…”
Shi Zhen’s gaze changed.
“Don’t kill him. Let him go to jail. Death would be too easy for him. Let him rot in prison until he dies,” Bai Xiangxing’s voice was calm.
Shi Zhen nodded. “I’ll have someone inform him later.”
Shi Zhen knew that Bai Xiangxing had softened his heart.
As the car drove along, they soon arrived at the entrance of the new company. When the car stopped, Bai Xiangxing unfastened his seatbelt, opened the door, and got out. “I’m leaving.”
Shi Zhen watched Bai Xiangxing’s leisurely departure, suddenly feeling an impulse. He got out of the car and shouted loudly to Bai Xiangxing, who was about to enter the gate.
Bai Xiangxing turned around, looking puzzled at Shi Zhen.
“Bai Xiangxing, are we considered together now?”
Although he had already guessed, Bai Xiangxing hadn’t mentioned divorce after waking up, but Shi Zhen still wasn’t at ease. Only when Bai Xiangxing admitted it himself would he feel at ease.
Bai Xiangxing wanted to say, Isn’t that obvious? If I hadn’t agreed, I would have killed you this morning. But facing Shi Zhen’s expectant gaze, he smiled. “Yes!”
Shi Zhen smiled, propped himself up on the hood with one hand, and without even bothering to walk around the car, he leaped over it and ran to Bai Xiangxing in two or three steps, sweeping him into his arms.
