After The Soft And Cute Beauty Marries The Wolf King - Chapter 10
Before going to sleep, they had this encounter, causing Xie Zhiqing’s cheeks to flush. That night, he slept particularly soundly.
The weather was getting colder, and it was becoming increasingly difficult for Xie Zhiqing, who was used to waking up early, to get out of bed.
His mind was fully awake, but his body didn’t want to leave the warmth of the blankets. Xie Zhiqing lay in bed with his eyes closed, thinking that he hadn’t been here for long, but Lang Sa had already made him inclined to stay in bed.
Thinking of this person, Xie Zhiqing opened his eyes and looked down.
Lang Sa was still sleeping on the floor.
Even though they had some intimate moments the night before, Lang Sa had ultimately only kissed his hair and didn’t take advantage of the situation.
The way they were now was actually quite strange… Xie Zhiqing closed his eyes and pondered.
In any case, they were already married. Marriage was about following parental wishes and matchmaking. How many couples really understood each other’s feelings before getting married? Wasn’t it about getting married and starting a life together?
As he thought about it, he opened one eye slightly and secretly glanced at the Wolf King sleeping on the floor.
Last night, Lang Sa had mentioned that he often secretly kissed him at night…
Xie Zhiqing rubbed his fingers together, blushing.
So, the previous incident wasn’t the first time. Lang Sa was really something; it seemed like his outward appearance of seriousness was just an act.
But even so, even if… Lang Sa didn’t hide his affection for him, he didn’t make any further advances. However, between husband and wife, was there really such a thing as going too far?
Xie Zhiqing shook his head, no longer dwelling on these thoughts.
He knew very little about matters of love. In theory, he should have been married two or three years ago, but because…
Because of his unique condition, it had been delayed until now.
Thinking about this, Xie Zhiqing sighed.
He wondered what Lang Sa would think when he found out about this in the future.
Xie Zhiqing had been lost in thought about many things. When he snapped out of it, Lang Sa was already awake, staring at him.
“You… you’re awake!” Xie Zhiqing jumped in surprise, speaking somewhat nervously.
Lang Sa nodded. “Yes, I’m awake. What were you daydreaming about?”
Xie Zhiqing quickly denied, “Oh, nothing, I just woke up and my head’s a bit fuzzy. Hey, why did you wake up so early today?”
Lang Sa said, “Fufu was calling.”
Time to change their food.
Xie Zhiqing had been lost in his thoughts and hadn’t noticed any movement in the rabbit cage. When he heard Lang Sa’s words, he hurriedly looked over.
There wasn’t much left in the cage.
“Oh no!” Xie Zhiqing slapped his forehead. “I need to feed them.” He quickly got out of bed. As soon as he sat up, he took a deep breath and said, “It’s so cold!”
“I’ll do it,” Lang Sa moved faster and said, “You just stay here and warm up.”
Xie Zhiqing didn’t hesitate and quickly got back under the covers.
He watched Lang Sa feed Fufu, who was still in the cage, with his full attention. It was a strange but harmonious scene – a wolf and a rabbit peacefully coexisting.
Lang Sa, on the other hand, was annoying. Fufu was trying to eat, but Lang Sa kept taking away its food, making it search for food in frustration. After doing this a few times, Fufu got annoyed and used its fluffy tail to face him.
Lang Sa continued to tease it, poking its ears and butt.
Fufu could only protest by shaking its ears.
Xie Zhiqing couldn’t help but watch this scene.
It was quite miraculous how, on the first day Fufu came here, it was terrified and running around because of Lang Sa. Yet now, they could coexist peacefully.
Xie Zhiqing rubbed his face and thought about how he was similar. He remembered sitting in the bridal sedan that day, shedding tears uncontrollably.
Thinking about his past self, he felt a bit embarrassed. He touched his nose and smiled sheepishly.
Lang Sa hadn’t turned around, maintaining his original actions. He asked, “What are you laughing at?”
Xie Zhiqing let out a soft “Ah” and said cautiously, “You can hear that?”
“My hearing is quite good,” Lang Sa pointed to his ears. “I am the Wolf King, don’t underestimate me.”
Xie Zhiqing chuckled and said, “I wouldn’t dare.”
Lang Sa just nodded and didn’t reply further. He continued to crouch down and play with Fufu.
Lang Sa had a good physique, and when he half-crouched on the floor, the contours of his back protruded slightly, forming smooth lines that extended to his waist and disappeared into his black pants. However, what Xie Zhiqing was more concerned about than Lang Sa’s impressive physique was…
“Lang Sa, aren’t you cold?” he asked in a hushed tone. “You shouldn’t catch a cold.”
Lang Sa’s movements halted for a moment, then he spoke with a hint of frustration, “I’m not cold. I’m actually quite hot.”
He quickly tidied up the cage and shooed Fufu back inside, then went outside to wash his hands. When he returned to the room, he resumed his position as if he had just woken up.
“I’ll take a little more rest,” Lang Sa said as he lay back under the covers.
But just as he lay down, he remembered something. “Oh, I forgot to change the water.”
He was about to get up again.
“I’ll do it, I’ll do it, I’ll go!” This time, Xie Zhiqing became more proactive. He quickly got up, rushed to open the rabbit cage, washed the dishes, refilled the water, and placed everything back efficiently. However, it was still cold, and he rubbed his hands together, visible puffs of breath escaping as he did so.
He also crouched down by the rabbit cage, watching Fufu drink a few sips of water before standing up. However, as he rose, he accidentally bumped into Lang Sa, who was behind him.
Lang Sa was a person who moved without making any noise!
Startled, Xie Zhiqing jumped and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Lang Sa, without saying anything, reached out and hugged Xie Zhiqing from behind. “You seemed so cold, so I’m warming you up.”
Lang Sa was tall and strong, and he could almost encase Xie Zhiqing entirely within his embrace, with his chin resting on the top of Xie Zhiqing’s head.
Xie Zhiqing was indeed cold and just wanted to get back under the covers to warm up again. He didn’t think too much about it and poked Lang Sa with his elbow while turning his head. He whispered, “Quick, let go of me, I’m freezing.”
As he turned, his gaze met Lang Sa’s eyes.
Lang Sa was gazing down at Xie Zhiqing with unreserved affection. He held Xie Zhiqing tightly, his lips almost touching his forehead.
The close proximity suddenly made the atmosphere between them ambiguous. Their long hair intertwined, strands of hair entangled, and Xie Zhiqing’s hands were full of it. Lang Sa’s warmth enveloped him completely, and without realizing it, even his cheeks turned slightly red.
Xie Zhiqing mumbled, “Aren’t you cold…”
Lang Sa seemed to smile, and he said, “No, I’m not cold at all. My blanket is really warm. Do you want to feel it?”
With that, he pulled Xie Zhiqing back and, in a swift motion, they both fell backward.
Lang Sa’s bedding was quite thick, and there was no way Xie Zhiqing would get hurt. However, before he could react, Lang Sa covered his face with the blanket. Then, he slid his arm around Xie Zhiqing’s waist.
With his arm firmly around Xie Zhiqing, his fingertips began to entwine their hands, making them hold each other’s hands tightly.
They embraced each other in an awkward position.
Xie Zhiqing buried himself in Lang Sa’s arms, and without thinking, he reached out to hold the Wolf King’s waist.
His body was getting warm, but his feet were still cold. He stretched out his legs and placed them against Lang Sa’s shins.
Lang Sa, who hadn’t moved, frowned slightly and opened his eyes.
Xie Zhiqing was startled. Lang Sa usually walked silently!
Surprised, he asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” Lang Sa reached behind and hugged Xie Zhiqing tighter. “I see you’re still cold. I should have warmed your blanket up more. There are several warmers; I should have given you one.”
He adjusted Xie Zhiqing’s blanket and said, “Don’t move around too much, warm up a bit more before getting up.”
Lang Sa’s body was indeed warmer than the thick blankets, and Xie Zhiqing felt snug in his embrace. He closed his eyes, and for the first time in a long time, the prince who was used to waking up early took a midday nap.
When he opened his eyes again, it was already noon.
Lang Sa was awake as well, and he was propping up his head, watching Xie Zhiqing.
The scene was a bit overwhelming, and Xie Zhiqing rubbed his eyes, confirming it several times before hesitantly greeting, “Lang Sa, good… uh, good afternoon.”
Lang Sa playfully replied in the same tone, “Good afternoon.”
Xie Zhiqing smirked and didn’t say anything further. Initially feeling a bit awkward and uncertain, their interaction had actually improved thanks to Lang Sa’s playful remark.
He sat up on the bed, planning to get Xie Zhiqing’s clothes, and said, “Let’s go have some delicious food for lunch.”
Xie Zhiqing cheered, “Great!”
However, when they stepped out, they encountered a new problem.
Lang Sa didn’t know where to take Xie Zhiqing, and this time, it involved… horseback riding.
Xie Zhiqing blinked, hesitating as he asked, “Horseback riding? Is it far?”
Lang Sa misunderstood, thinking that Xie Zhiqing was too hungry and couldn’t wait to eat. After a moment of thought, he said, “How about we go in the evening instead?”
Xie Zhiqing clarified, “No, that’s not what I meant.” But he felt his explanation wouldn’t be sufficient and decided to remain silent. “It’s alright, let’s go quickly!”
Seeing Xie Zhiqing clumsily trying to get on the horse, Lang Sa realized what he meant.
“Oh, you meant this,” Lang Sa patted Xie Zhiqing’s thigh and said, “Wait a moment, get comfortable.”
He hurried into the room, looking for something suitable. Finally, he came out with his own cloak tucked under his arm.
Lang Sa grabbed Xie Zhiqing’s waist from behind, and he cleverly placed the cloak under Xie Zhiqing’s buttocks. The cloak seemed thin, but after Lang Sa adjusted it, it surprisingly became quite smooth and was almost as soft as that piece of fleece blanket from earlier.
After finishing this, Lang Sa also mounted the horse and sat behind Xie Zhiqing. In a hushed tone, he asked, ”
If you’re not comfortable… just tell me.”
Xie Zhiqing looked back, his expression mixed.
He held onto Lang Sa’s arm, gripping his fingers without realizing it.
The sun had fully risen by now and was shining directly overhead, making Xie Zhiqing feel lightheaded. His heart suddenly started beating faster.
“Lang Sa, I—”
However, Lang Sa didn’t let him finish speaking.
He pushed Xie Zhiqing’s shoulder into a comfortable position and intercepted the unfinished sentence. He embraced Xie Zhiqing from behind, placing his chin on Xie Zhiqing’s shoulder, and spoke gently, “If you don’t know how to put it into words, you can tell me later.”
He noticed Xie Zhiqing turning his head to look at him, his eyes filled with surprise.
Lang Sa smiled, using the side of his face to nuzzle Xie Zhiqing’s nose, then said, “You can tell me whatever you want at any time. If you don’t want to say it now, you can say it when you’re ready. Xia Qinger, let me be honest with you. Our marriage was not a sudden decision; it was a long-planned one. I know more about you than you might think. So—”
Lang Sa paused for a moment, shaking his head with a wry smile. “So, you don’t need to rush or force yourself. When you’re ready, you can tell me.”
He tightened his hold around Xie Zhiqing, and in that moment, everything seemed just right.
