After The Soft And Cute Beauty Marries The Wolf King - Chapter 23
“Xie Zhiqing, I love you…”
Lang Sa unabashedly confessed his love to Xie Zhiqing’s ear, his soft words wrapped in emotions so heavy they could almost drown a person.
Xie Zhiqing awkwardly responded to the fierce kiss from the Wolf King, unconsciously embedding himself in the embrace before him.
Lang Sa’s hands clasped behind Xie Zhiqing’s head, his soft hair enveloping his palms. Xie Zhiqing’s fair skin was contrasted even brighter by his ink-black hair. In Lang Sa’s eyes, the world lost its shades of gray; amidst the stark black and white, only Xie Zhiqing remained pristine.
With a twist, Lang Sa rolled over, pinning him beneath.
Xie Zhiqing’s lips were rosy, his long hair scattered on the pillow, with a hint of moisture in the corners of his eyes. He reached out to touch Lang Sa’s face, his hand damp with emotion.
He lay there, exposed, his clothes long discarded, his delicate neck bared. Yet as he looked at Lang Sa, his eyes held many emotions, but no defenses.
Lang Sa’s heart melted.
He leaned down, cradling his beloved prince in his arms, gentle as can be, fearing to harm him even with the slightest pressure.
In that moment, Lang Sa almost wanted to tell him where this enduring love came from, to assure him it wasn’t mere infatuation.
He longed to tell Xie Zhiqing that after losing him, he had lived in loneliness for so long.
But the words wouldn’t come.
Instead, he kissed Xie Zhiqing’s ear once more, whispering his love.
“I love you…” His voice was low yet firm. “Xiaoqing, I love you deeply. I’ve been thinking about marrying you for a long time…”
He still held Xie Zhiqing, thinking his little prince should live a life of pure happiness, shielded from pain and separation. As long as Xie Zhiqing was happy and safe in this life, nothing else mattered.
Xie Zhiqing also embraced him.
The prince’s soft hands wrapped around his shoulders, his cheek pressing against his face.
Xie Zhiqing nuzzled him, his breath carrying a sticky sweetness.
He lifted his head from Lang Sa’s embrace, his gaze dewy as he looked at him.
“Lang Sa, I…” Xie Zhiqing’s voice was shy. “I’ll always be by your side. We’ll be together forever…”
The little prince couldn’t express his love as directly as Lang Sa, so he conveyed his feelings with these words.
He timidly hugged Lang Sa, burying himself in his husband’s chest like a small animal. He peeked up at him, his gaze bashful.
“Lang Sa, I’ll always stay here,” he repeated softly, “I’ll always be by your side… We’re married now, and you’re, you’re…”
Xie Zhiqing struggled to finish his sentence, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment and shyness almost making him faint.
Grasping Lang Sa’s collar, he stuttered out the rest, “You’re my husband…”
The rest of the words were swallowed by Lang Sa, as he nibbled on Xie Zhiqing’s lips, stripping away his clothes.
Amidst the steam of passion, Xie Zhiqing caught sight of the strange marks on Lang Sa’s collar once again.
Dark lines twisted out from Lang Sa’s shoulders, this time spreading to his chest.
He reached out to touch them, asking, “Is this… the wolf pattern?”
Lang Sa grasped his hand, kissed it gently, and whispered, “Yes, it’s the wolf pattern.”
Xie Zhiqing asked again, “Did I remember it wrong? It seems like it’s not always there.”
Lang Sa hesitated for a moment, then, seeing Xie Zhiqing’s curiosity, he sat up straight, raised his hand, and took off his clothes, revealing his lean and muscular upper body.
Xie Zhiqing widened his eyes slightly.
The dark blue-black patterns spread across Lang Sa’s body, extending from his shoulders to his arms. The patterns were messy yet orderly, and Xie Zhiqing found them familiar. Upon careful thought, they resembled the patterns on Lang Sa’s wedding attire from the day they got married.
“Each of us has our own wolf pattern, unique to ourselves,” Lang Sa explained. “For those of us who have fully evolved into wolves, the wolf pattern is the only remaining wolf-like characteristic on our bodies. But—you’ve also noticed, it’s not always visible.”
Lang Sa hugged Xie Zhiqing’s waist, making him sit on his lap, their foreheads touching.
“Only…” Lang Sa cleared his throat, finding the words a bit difficult, “only during Rut will it show up.”
Xie Zhiqing swallowed nervously, his gaze shifting away discreetly.
It wasn’t like he had no concept at all, even though they had only shared a bed recently…
Lang Sa had always been vigorous, in various senses.
Xie Zhiqing instinctively looked down, and just that glance was enough to make him blush to the brink of explosion.
The reputation of the Rut period among the beastmen was well-deserved…
Xie Zhiqing’s embarrassed reaction was amusing, but Lang Sa didn’t say anything, just quietly watching the little prince struggle to maintain a normal expression.
He could even guess what Xie Zhiqing was thinking at the moment.
First, he would wonder if the beastmen would feel uncomfortable if they didn’t properly deal with the Rut period. Secondly, he would think…
Lang Sa chuckled and shook his head. The little prince was tender-hearted and kind; he would surely think that since they were already married, he should help his husband through every Rut period.
But that wasn’t what Lang Sa wanted.
He was the Wolf King, and he had experienced too much during moments like these. He didn’t want to force Xie Zhiqing if he wasn’t willing. Moreover…
During Rut, the beastmen were irrational, and he didn’t want to accidentally hurt Xie Zhiqing.
While he could still maintain his rationality and endure, Lang Sa was willing to continue enduring.
“Now that you know, the main reason I haven’t been sleeping with you all this time is because of this.”
Lang Sa hugged the person sitting on his lap tightly, his arm exerting a little more force to bring them closer.
Xie Zhiqing’s body pressed against Lang Sa’s abdomen, the vitality radiating from him making Lang Sa’s entire body feel weak. He hooked his arms around Lang Sa’s neck, his fingers gently tracing a pattern on his shoulder.
He still felt shy and didn’t know what to say. After thinking for a while, Xie Zhiqing lowered his head and planted a kiss on Lang Sa’s shoulder.
Lang Sa swallowed hard, his breath trembling.
He closed his eyes tightly, and when he opened them again, only one thought filled Lang Sa’s mind.
Screw it, I’m done enduring this!
He pressed Xie Zhiqing’s back down onto the bed, biting down hard on his chin.
Xie Zhiqing cried out in surprise, completely unprepared.
He didn’t dodge, just reached out his hand, tightly embracing the Wolf King’s shoulders.
Lang Sa whispered those surging words of love in his ear.
The oil lamp burned out, and the rustling sound in the room finally ceased.
Two hands intertwined on the bedsheet, Xie Zhiqing’s fingertips trembled, leaving behind a thin layer of sweat on Lang Sa’s back as they brushed over it.
Summoning the last of his strength, Xie Zhiqing reached out to touch Lang Sa’s eyebrows and eyes.
Lang Sa’s eyes were red, his face covered in a thin layer of sweat, and the veins on the inside of his arms were prominently raised. He propped himself up on both sides of Xie Zhiqing’s shoulders, wiping the sweat from his face.
He grasped Xie Zhiqing’s hand, pressing it against his own cheek.
On this cold winter night, the lovers who had just confessed their feelings to each other shared their warmth.
As the night grew late, Lang Sa woke up once. Xie Zhiqing was nestled in his embrace, sleeping deeply, with a portion of his neck exposed outside the blanket, clearly marked with a bite mark.
Lang Sa tucked him in and held him even tighter.
He looked outside—the sound of snowfall seemed faintly audible.
When Xie Zhiqing woke up, it was already late morning of the next day—surprisingly later than Lang Sa.
Xie Zhiqing rubbed his face in embarrassment, quickly getting up to get dressed.
With this movement, he felt sore all over his body.
Xie Zhiqing felt even more embarrassed.
Lang Sa was squatting in front of the rabbit cage, playing with Fufu. When he heard the movement behind him, he turned his head and said, “Get up, it’s snowing outside.”
Upon hearing this, Xie Zhiqing became excited again. Anyu was in the south, with a warm and humid climate, and in so many years, the number of times it snowed could be counted on one hand.
He didn’t even bother to put on his clothes properly, just threw on a coat and hurriedly got out of bed.
“Wow, it’s really snowing!” He pushed open the window, exclaiming in surprise.
Lang Sa untied his own clothes, wrapping him in his embrace from behind.
The two of them leaned against the window, draped in the same coat, admiring the first snow of the winter.
Xie Zhiqing reached out his hand to the window, the small snowflakes were pure and clean, feeling cool in his palm.
“I caught snow!” he turned back, excitedly telling Lang Sa.
Unbeknownst to him, the Wolf King behind him had no mood to appreciate the snow scene; he simply watched quietly as his excited little prince held in his arms.
Not to mention the snow scene, even the most magnificent mountains and rivers, the vastest seas, were not as beautiful as the smile on Xie Zhiqing’s face.
“Ah,” Lang Sa responded, “Xiaoqing caught snow.”
IamNobody
I’m confused one review on NU says that Zhiqing tops. But from this scene it doesn’t seem like it. The reviewer also said that that Zhiqing tops and also got pregnant. How would that work? If Zhiqing tops I would have assumed that Langsl Sa would be one who gets pregnant.
Zhiqing also mentioned of a deformity. He didn’t specify but maybe he is intersex.
