Ning Qinghong held Wu Jing from behind, soothing and massaging the back of his neck and gently touching his slightly swollen belly.
Before he pressed down, Wu Jing, already sticky with sweat, seemed to sense what was coming and began to cry out vaguely. Tears smeared his face and dripped into his open mouth. His nose was blocked with tears, so he could only breathe through his mouth.
He continued to struggle, shaking his head in panic as if losing his mind. He remembered only to try to escape, which led to more uncontrolled movements, gasping and twitching.
His eyes were nearly rolling back, but he continued to struggle.
Ning Qinghong kept soothing him with kisses and soft words, “Wu Wu? Wu Wu? It’s okay, it’s alright.”
Unfortunately, the boy could not speak or control his limbs, appearing completely dazed and unintelligent. He only curled up to refuse and, overwhelmed by pleasure, his whole body trembled uncontrollably, crying incoherently.
He couldn’t take in a single word, his vision blurred by tears.
Wu Jing struggled fiercely to reject it.
Ning Qinghong had to lift his fingers slightly and explained gently, “Brother wants to take Wu Wu to wash up, but we need to clean you up a bit first. Otherwise, the bath water will be dirty and you’ll be dirty again.” He reassured him, “Be good, Wu Wu. It’ll be over soon. Stop crying.”
Ning Qinghong spoke softly, but his touch remained firm.
He continued to press on Wu Jing’s soft belly, maintaining a calm demeanor, gently rubbing and coaxing him, regardless of Wu Jing’s struggles.
All of Wu Jing’s discomfort had been expelled. He was not in pain but could not handle it, his body overwhelmed by the lingering sensation of water.
He stopped moving his limbs and continued to tremble and cry more intensely, his breaths growing more erratic.
Ning Qinghong’s voice remained soothing, “It’s alright.” He released his fingers and gently massaged Wu Jing’s arched back, kissing his neck, ears, and face. “Wu Wu? Do you still recognize your brother?”
“Can you hear your brother’s voice?”
“If you still remember how to speak, say a few words.”
He waited for a while but received only vague cries, sighing lightly, “Why are you crying so hard? You’re almost out of breath.”
Wu Jing’s eyes were almost vacant, his breath hot and labored.
Ning Qinghong continued to soothe him, “Stop crying, stop crying, alright?” He said, “Since Wu Wu is ignoring his brother, let’s check you over and then we’ll go out.”
With that, he lowered his gaze, carefully inspected every part of Wu Jing, cleaned up with the clothes on the floor, and lifted him from his arms.
Without the pressing discomfort, Wu Jing choked out a few cries. As he gradually quieted down, he still made some whimpering noises when moved, kissed, or held.
Ning Qinghong’s clothes were still neat compared to before; he quickly tidied them up and then dressed Wu Jing.
Wu Jing curled up and started to depend on Ning Qinghong’s embrace, still trembling instinctively. Though he hadn’t fully recovered his senses, he remained fearful, continuously whimpering, unable to stop.
He looked both pitiful and distressed.
Ning Qinghong carried him out, and because of the thick fox fur rug, the dampness disappeared, leaving only some signs of dryness.
He had the servants dispose of the soiled items and replace them with new ones.
While walking, Ning Qinghong continued to rub Wu Jing’s soft belly to help him expel the remaining discomfort. Wu Jing, buried in Ning Qinghong’s neck, continued to moan softly, trembling but enduring, relying more on his embrace.
When they reached the bath, Wu Jing’s clothes were soaked, but those deeply stained needed special handling.
Ning Qinghong cleaned up the soiled clothes, folding them to hide any unsightly parts and preserving the boy’s dignity.
Despite Ning Qinghong’s gentle demeanor, his actions were ruthlessly precise. He held the crying boy and said slowly, “Let’s make Wu Wu happy once more, alright?”
Wu Jing couldn’t hear the words and couldn’t respond, struggling once again.
The excess moisture was rinsed out, and Ning Qinghong gently cleaned him from inside out.
Throughout, Wu Jing clung to him, only having moments alone while Ning Qinghong bathed and dressed.
Buried in Ning Qinghong’s embrace, Wu Jing wanted to see no more light. He continued to cry, the tears sometimes mixing with the residual moisture. It took a while for his vision to clear.
Still dazed, he hadn’t recovered from the alcohol and the earlier distress, so it was normal for him to remain emotional. Ning Qinghong wasn’t overly worried as long as there was no harm, and he took Wu Jing back to the bedroom, placing him on the bed.
Wu Jing never lifted his head from where it was buried. After the lights went out and the room quieted down, he fell asleep leaning against Ning Qinghong.
The next morning, Ning Qinghong was the first to wake. As he entered the room with the dust brush as usual, he asked softly through the screen, “Sir, it’s dawn. It’s time for the morning court session.”
Only a single response came from inside, “Go to the Ministry of Rites and ask for leave on my behalf, and also inform the Emperor. Have everyone wait outside the door.”
The attendant quickly acknowledged and left.
Wu Jing remained undisturbed by the noise, turning over and continuing to sleep. After a moment, he seemed to find the absence of someone comforting and turned back to cuddle.
Ning Qinghong stayed with him, allowing him to rest.
After some unknown amount of time, Wu Jing was finally roused. He heard Ning Qinghong’s voice near his ear, “Wu Wu, if you sleep any longer, your head will start to ache.” He sighed, “Shall I apply some medicine for you?”
The medicine should have been applied yesterday, but Ning Qinghong had avoided it, fearing it might further agitate Wu Jing. Now, with Wu Jing awake from the effects of the alcohol, he continued with it.
Wu Jing opened his eyes and, upon seeing Ning Qinghong, hesitated for a moment before burrowing back into the blankets, covering his face and trying to shake off the confusion.
He peeked out and instinctively said, “You cheated yesterday and tricked me into drinking your cold wine.”
Ning Qinghong, holding the medicinal ointment, asked, “Wasn’t it Wu Wu who first acted up?” He continued, “Did Wu Wu come out on his own, or did his brother help?”
Wu Jing was stunned for a moment. He had crawled out on his own; he did not suffer from amnesia. The confusion of last night was still fresh in his mind. His body trembled instinctively upon seeing Ning Qinghong and felt weak. Even just seeing the ointment was overwhelming.
Still disoriented, when Ning Qinghong embraced him, Wu Jing instinctively tried to resist but soon stopped.
Ning Qinghong paused and asked, “Wu Wu?”
Wu Jing, with his upper body wrapped around Ning Qinghong, closed his eyes and turned his head. After his removed clothing was set aside, Ning Qinghong could see his trembling legs.
Ning Qinghong saw a hint of moisture before he even applied the ointment. He dabbed his fingers in it, paused, and gently asked, “Wu Wu cried so hard yesterday, I didn’t expect it was due to pleasure.”
Wu Jing’s unpleasant memories were triggered. He hesitated to think that last night’s actions truly represented him. He wanted to say something but had to hold back because the ointment was already applied.
Fortunately, Ning Qinghong didn’t tease him further. He spoke softly, “It’s just a bit red, not swollen, and there’s no open wound. Apply this medicine for two days and eat light food, and you’ll recover completely.” Without the medicinal jade nourishing, Wu Jing might have felt much discomfort.
Once the medicine was applied, Wu Jing quickly put on his clothes while Ning Qinghong wiped his hands and tried to curl back into the blankets. Before he could move, Ning Qinghong said, “Yesterday, Wu Wu said he liked me, but today he’s avoiding me.”
Wu Jing was taken aback, swallowing nervously. “I… I…” He sat there, “I wasn’t lying to you yesterday.”
“Even though you made me drink, what I said was sincere.”
“But, but…”
Last night was too much…
Wu Jing lowered his head and began to anxiously pick at his hands. Even after the ointment was applied, he could still feel the stickiness and almost believed he was reliving last night. He felt he couldn’t tolerate it. “You… you were too much.”
“I’m not unwilling to… do that with you.”
“But…”
Ning Qinghong placed the ointment back into its box and asked, “But what?”
Wu Jing watched his actions, looked at him, and then lowered his gaze, gaining courage. “Move that unsightly thing to another place.”
He had already discussed it with Ning Qinghong last night, and Ning Qinghong had agreed. Since they were together now, it should be reasonable to move their belongings.
He had the right to make this request.
Wu Jing held his breath, watching Ning Qinghong.
Ning Qinghong closed the box and casually asked, “Where would Wu Wu like it to be placed?”
Wu Jing moved a bit closer. “Just not in such an obvious place.”
He softened his tone, wanting to show he wasn’t being unreasonable but was trying to negotiate.
Wu Jing watched Ning Qinghong put the items into a drawer in the desk and moved a bit closer. “But you can’t be so unreasonable.”
Ning Qinghong chuckled softly, “If I hadn’t done much, Wu Wu wouldn’t have been able to bear it.” He embraced Wu Jing and, with his temples touching, asked gently, “Isn’t this request a bit too demanding for me?”
Wu Jing felt a tingle from his ears to his neck and blushed. “I… I…”
Ning Qinghong gently kissed him and asked, “Hmm?”
Wu Jing was lost in the kiss, forgetting what he wanted to say. His head became warm, and he was dazed for a while before coming to his senses. He pushed Ning Qinghong away and turned his face. “No more kissing, you’re not allowed to kiss me.”
“You just want to coax me again!”
“Now that we’re together, you have to listen to what I say. I don’t want to be kissed, so you can’t kiss me.” He added softly, “That too.”
Ning Qinghong asked, “What about that?”
Wu Jing’s face turned red. “You’re doing it on purpose!”
Ning Qinghong chuckled softly and asked, “So what does Wu Wu want?”
Wu Jing, still confused, suggested, “Let’s agree on a word or signal. When I say or do it, you have to stop.” He brightened up, feeling this was a good solution, “No more continuing.”
Ning Qinghong paused and nodded in agreement.
“What word?”
He asked.
**Author’s Note:**
Wuwu: Serious agreement on a safe word
Qinghong: Anyway, if I can’t speak later, I’ll just coax first
