The omega’s heat period was finally coming to an end, but the promised temporary marking, the Alpha’s pheromones, had not faded in the slighteST.
The boy exuded a sweet, berry-like fragrance that was intoxicating, and he hardly left the room, focusing intently on building a nest in the Alpha’s space. He knelt amidst a pile of Alpha’s clothes, saying he wanted to create a soft nest for Mr. Ning’s baby.
“Is Mr. Ning going out today?” The boy knelt on the bed, looking up at the person beside him with longing. His voice carried a hint of disappointment, and even his rabbit ears drooped sadly.
Ning Qinghong leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on the omega’s cheek. “I will be back soon.”
During the heat period, the omega wanted to be with the Alpha at all times. Ning Qinghong had tried to stay home with him as much as possible, but today felt different.
Wu Jing straightened up, leaning closer to wrap his arms around Ning Qinghong’s neck. His eyes were still slightly puffy from crying, and his lips were soft and swollen from kisses. His legs felt weak, but he still wanted to embrace the Alpha in front of him. With slender fingers, he held onto Ning Qinghong’s hand and said softly, “Then can Mr. Ning touch… touch our baby before you go?”
Ning Qinghong paused. Over the past couple of days, he had learned that his omega partner’s spiritual lineage often led to the illusion of pregnancy after going through a heat period.
Especially now, Wu Jing was not only experiencing his heat but was also affected by the Alpha’s pheromones, making it difficult to stay awake for even a moment.
Ning Qinghong picked the boy up and sat him on his lap. “Okay.”
The sudden movement made Wu Jing let out a soft whimper, and the fabric he was nestled in became slightly dampened.
With a calm expression, Ning Qinghong pulled out a corner of his shirt that Wu Jing had tucked in and began dressing him while sighing lightly, “I’ve told you not to stuff my clothes in like this. How many times do I have to say it?”
Wu Jing pretended not to hear, carefully glancing up before lowering his head, his rabbit ears drooping in a guilty manner. With teary eyes, he placed the Alpha’s hand on his soft, slightly flattened belly. “Mr. Ning, touch… touch the baby.”
Ning Qinghong gently reassured him, responding softly, “Do you want a kiss?”
Wu Jing’s rabbit ears perked up a bit, showing a mix of happiness and shyness. He nodded slightly, “Yes.”
Ning Qinghong placed the boy in the nest he had made, leaning down partially to shield him. He first kissed Wu Jing’s lips, then, through the fabric, kissed the omega’s soft belly, before rising and saying warmly, “The servants have all been sent away for the next few days. Only the machines are still running. Do you remember how to use the light brain?”
Wu Jing, still a bit dazed, nodded. “I remember.”
Ning Qinghong spoke softly, “The food has all been prepared and is downstairs. You can’t stay in the room all the time.”
Wu Jing obediently replied, “Mr. Ning should come back early to see the baby.”
Ning Qinghong chuckled softly, “Alright.” He leaned down again and kissed him, the Alpha’s pheromones instantly thickening.
Wu Jing’s gaze gradually became dazed.
Ning Qinghong slightly raised his hand, brushing over the boy’s head and catching something. In the next moment, he pulled back his hand and stood up to leave.
After a while, Wu Jing shook his head, feeling groggy.
Did Mr. Ning… leave?
When did he leave?
Soon, the omega began to busy himself again, stacking clothes—a black coat, a federal council uniform, a white suit… one after another.
After a short while, he grew tired and lay down in the pile of clothes to sleep, only to wake up from hunger.
Moments later, the door to the master bedroom opened, and the boy stumbled out. Under the surveillance, it was clear to see the omega moving in the corridor, with his rabbit ears prominent during the heat period, but today they had vanished from the camera view.
—
On the top floor of the Federal Council Building.
Ning Qinghong sat in front of the terminal, looking at the documents. He had indeed come for the busy affairs of the council today, but that wasn’t all.
He glanced at the transparent spiritual entity curled up on his conference table, barely the size of his palm, trembling continuously.
It was a fluffy, white, lop-eared rabbit.
The spiritual entity lacked self-awareness and was entirely a derivative of the self, even able to be considered a part of his own body.
This was because it maintained a sensory connection with his physical form.
Generally speaking, except for oneself, even the closest partners could not touch one’s spiritual entity.
But there were exceptions—
The tiny rabbit, no larger than the palm of a hand, was locked in place by a dense cage of spiritual energy threads. Ning Qinghong gently tapped the table with his fingers.
An endless stream of spiritual power flowed from his fingertips, and finally, several threads merged into a slightly thicker line of spiritual energy, playfully tugging at the rabbit’s ears tightly tucked against its back.
In the surveillance footage, the boy paused, feeling confused as he touched the top of his head, confirming that no one was around him before he continued walking forward.
Then, the normally curled-up, round rabbit tail was also slowly pulled out by the spiritual energy.
In the footage, the omega glanced back vaguely, his mind clouded by the Alpha’s pheromones, which acted like a hypnotic, combined with his own heat, making his head feel like mush.
He looked around curiously.
Why did he always feel like someone was tugging at his ears and tail? It was strange—was he too hungry and imagining things?
But he wasn’t that hungry.
Wu Jing shook his head and, after a few steps, suddenly whimpered, his legs going weak as he leaned against the wall and knelt down. Sticky liquid kept spilling out as he cried, “Why… why…”
Clearly, there was no one…
Why…
The surroundings were empty, with only the white fluorescent light above quietly shining down on an omega who was completely curled up in the desolate corridor.
The sweet scent of berry jam was almost overwhelming, and although his clothes were intact and untouched, the boy’s face was flushed, his hole continuously leaking with moisture.
He cried out desperately, rolling his eyes and gasping for breath, saliva almost spilling from his parted lips.
It was as if he had been driven to the point where he couldn’t even swallow.
There was no one to blame or call for help—only himself.
So scary… so scary…
Mr. Ning… he needed to find Mr. Nin, to be saved…
With no tangible sensations in front of him, only an overwhelming tide of pleasure, the omega seemed oblivious to his limits, whimpering as he leaned against the wall, standing up unsteadily.
Even as the threads of spiritual energy tightened around him, invading the hole of the little rabbit, the omega stumbled forward, bending at the waist, shaking with every step. Eventually, he crawled back to the master bedroom, reaching for the terminal that had been left unused during these days of heat.
With trembling fingers, he desperately but fearfully pressed Ning’s contact number.
As soon as Ning Qinghong answered the call, he was met with the heartbreaking, incoherent cries of his omega mate. Amid the chaos, the emotion was nearly collapsing, making it impossible for him to articulate a single word. All that could be faintly discerned through the sobbing were three blurred words.
—“Mr. Ning, help!”
