Dangerous Liaisons - Chapter-2-The two-faced man
The so-called mountain road was almost devoid of any well-formed path, just a dirt road worn out by long-term walking through the towering, dense forest. The only signs that people often passed through here were broken branches and trampled grass.
The group of men were all wearing military boots, walking on the mountain path as if it were flat ground. Chu Yu was glad she had worn sneakers today. Though she stumbled a bit, she could still keep up with their pace. After walking for about three or four hours, although the sun hadn’t set yet, the light in the forest became noticeably darker due to the dense tree branches. The second brother in front suddenly stopped, signalling to the people behind. The entire group immediately tensed up. Chu Yu was forced to crouch down with her mouth covered. She couldn’t make out what was being said in front, but after a signal from the second brother, the tension in the group eased, and they relaxed their guard.
It turned out they had reached a hidden checkpoint guarded by a sentry. Chu Yu felt a chill run down her spine. It seemed that the organization of this group was far more meticulous than she had imagined. After passing through the sentry hidden in the dense forest, they continued on and eventually reached a paved road. The first thing that caught her eye was a huge and peculiar wooden door, spanning across the road. The door was adorned with animal motifs, carved roughly in an ancient style with beautiful, earthy colors, giving off a solemn and mysterious aura. When they arrived, everyone respectfully took off their hats and bowed toward the door, before boarding a jeep parked beneath it, continuing deeper into the area.
Chu Yu had lived in Thailand for a long time and had heard of the Akha people living in the mountains to the north. The Akha people are known for their strong belief in guardian spirits, and this door was likely built to ward off evil, meaning no one could offend it. Looking at it now, it seemed she had been brought to an Akha tribe’s settlement.
She didn’t have time to think too much. In the distance, a large complex of buildings appeared, built according to the mountain’s terrain. The red pointed rooftops were hidden among the dense forest, and she could vaguely make out wide stone paths, pure white walls, and heavy wooden doors and windows. By now, the sun had sunk low, leaving only the last traces of its light. The torches around the buildings were burning fiercely, their flames blazing in the twilight sky, creating an eerie and strange sight.
As their convoy approached, they encountered sentries and machine guns set up along the road. The guards came over to inspect, saluting the second brother and Zimo, before allowing their vehicle to slowly enter the tribe, which resembled a small city.
Chu Yu had always thought the Akha people lived deep in the mountains, in conditions that must be quite primitive. She never expected this place not only to have beautifully designed architecture, but also to be very well-planned. They drove along a slightly inclined main road, flanked by commercial streets that were still bustling with business—restaurants, shops, and even casinos. Further up, there was a large plaza. In the center of the plaza was a dried-up fountain. The city was organized around the plaza, with four main roads branching out in different directions.
Their vehicle continued along the northern road and finally stopped in front of the largest and highest building in the city, surrounded by an iron gate. Sentries and weapons were still stationed around. The second brother got out, walked to the intercom beside the gate, said a few words, and the gate slowly opened before them.
Second Brother got back into the car. The jeep entered the courtyard, made a turn, and stopped in front of a sculpture in the garden. A group of people got out of the car. Chuyu was roughly shoved and also got out of the car. Second Brother turned around and glanced at her, then tilted his head towards the big man holding her. The big man understood, grabbed Chuyu’s arm tightly, and forcefully pushed her in a direction different from theirs.
A surge of intense fear rose in Chuyu’s heart. She knew he was going to take her to the second brother’s room. The words the second brother had said earlier, along with the way those big men looked at her with malicious intent, made her shiver. Chuyu struggled desperately, but the other party’s strength was overwhelmingly superior. The big man was growing impatient he simply grabbed Chuyu and hoisted her onto his shoulder like a chick, preparing to leave.
“Wait a moment.”
A slow, deliberate voice came from behind. The man carrying Chuyu immediately halted his steps, turned around, and respectfully looked at Zimo, who had spoken. Erge’s body also stopped at the entrance of the gate, turning around to glare like a hawk at Zimo, who had suddenly spoken.
“Second brother, you don’t lack women either. It’s rare for me to take a liking to someone. Why not be a good person and give this woman to me?”
Zimo got out of the jeep and exchanged a faint glance with Er Ge. For a moment, neither of them spoke. Chuyu’s heart was in her throat as she watched Er Ge’s eyes scan her and then land on Zimo, “If San Di wants it, just take it to his room. There’s no need for us brothers to fall out over a woman.”
“Thank you, Second Brother!”
Zi Mo smiled and glanced at the big man holding onto Chu Yu. The big man nodded, turned around, and strode off in another direction.
Chuyu watched as Zimo and Erge politely gestured to each other, and then their figures disappeared into the gilded carved wooden door. The big man walked quickly, bypassing the garden to the west, and after a short distance, they arrived at a separate courtyard. The big man carried Chuyu into this courtyard, took her upstairs, locked her in a room, and then left.
Chuyu rubbed her leg, which had been painfully slammed to the ground by the big man when she entered, and slowly stood up. The room was dark, with no lights on. It was very spacious inside. Apart from a huge and heavy wooden bed, a set of wooden tables and chairs, and a marble screen, there was nothing else. The screen was placed between the bed and the chairs, dividing the space in two. The floor was made of dark solid wood. Three sides were walls, and one side is a window. At this time, the windows were wide open, and the cool mountain breeze blew into the room through the open windows, making the plain curtains flutter.
Chuyu couldn’t care less about continuing to observe and rushed to the wide-open window, but looking down from such a height made her heart race. Outside the window, below, apart from a half-meter-wide stone cliff, there was an abyss that seemed bottomless. The twilight was lush, and the cliff was shrouded in the dense fog unique to the night, making it appear particularly ferocious. The longer she looked, the more it felt as if her body would uncontrollably fall into that deep darkness.
She knew that the window was not an escape route. Chuyu, disappointed, retreated back into the room and sat on the floor. After walking such a long way, her legs were already sore and aching. She was holding herself together with sheer willpower, facing the harsh reality of being captured, and that’s why she didn’t collapse. Chuyu looked around, and suddenly the door to the room opened. A woman entered, holding a pile of clean clothes. She smiled at Chuyu, placed the clothes on the bed, and then clasped her hands together in a Buddhist gesture before backing out of the room.
If she hadn’t known better, she would have thought she was in a five-star hotel in Bangkok! Chuyu forced herself to stand up and walked over to the bed, where she looked at the clean clothes—a thin, colourful Thai-style skirt. The fabric was soft and vibrant. As she was examining the clothes, the door opened again. Two muscular men, bare-chested, carried a huge wooden tub into the room and placed it in the empty space in front of the bed, directly facing the window. Soon, a line of women entered one by one, filling the tub with water, sprinkling flower petals, and placing towels, shower gel, and scented oils. Once everything was arranged, the group faced her, performed a Buddhist gesture, and then retreated.
Throughout the entire process, no one said a word. Chuyu didn’t ask any questions either. She knew that even if she did, these people, trained as they were, would not reveal a single word. She wouldn’t be foolish enough to try to rush out the door while they were preparing the bathwater. Given her current situation, crying or panicking wouldn’t help. Staying in this room was, for now, safer than being anywhere else. She might be able to escape, but certainly not now.
Chuyu glanced at the water in the tub, and without hesitation, stripped off her clothes and sat in it. After a whole day of struggle, she was filthy and needed to clean herself. As she soaked in the warm water, her nerves relaxed a bit, and she began to seriously consider her situation.
There is no doubt that she was in a devil’s den. The top priority is to stay alive. Thinking about her parents receiving the news of her predicament made Chuyu’s heart tighten, but she immediately forced herself not to dwell on it. It seems that losing her virginity tonight is unavoidable. If the man named Zimo is as cruel as these people, why did he save her life back then in the store?! Chuyu didn’t dwell on this question for long. In any case, having my innocence taken away by this man is better than being played with second brother and then being raped by those big men. If that were the case, she might lose her life tonight.
Chuyu simply took a shower, didn’t use any incense, and didn’t wear the prepared gauzy dress. Instead, she put on her own T-shirt and jeans. With her wet long hair down, she sat on the wide windowsill, squinting her eyes to look at the distant mountains.
I don’t know when I fell into a deep sleep due to exhaustion. In a daze, I felt my body lighten, as if being embraced by a warm hug. A warm breath brushed against my cheek, and I groggily opened my eyes to find myself being held by Zimo, who was gently placing me onto the big bed. My senses instantly returned, and I widened my eyes in shock, staring at the man in the darkness.
Zi Mo’s movements paused there. She was beneath him, he was above, their skin touching, and their bodies entwined. The scene was set on a large bed, the distance extremely close, breaths mingling. For a moment, the atmosphere was indescribably ambiguous. She stared at the man without moving, her eyes did not reveal much fear, but rather a calm and clear demeanour. Such a gaze intrigued Zi Mo; after a while, the corner of his lips curled into a smile, blending with the innate dangerous aura that he was born with. It was a bit evil, but it made people’s heartbeat fast.If it weren’t for this environment, if he didn’t have this background, perhaps she would appreciate this male beauty better.
“My surname is Lu.” His brief self-introduction seemed to assume that she already knew his name. Reciprocity. The teachings left by Chinese ancestors over thousands of years. Chuyu also curved her lips slightly, “Deng Chuyu.”
“Little Raindrop, that’s a nice name.”
Lu Zimo’s smile deepened at the corners of his lips, while Chuyu’s brows furrowed slightly, almost imperceptibly. Well, if she had to give herself to this man, what did it matter if he called her some strange nicknames? Whether it was “Cat” or “Dog” or “Zhang San” or “Li Si,” it didn’t matter. Her goal now was to make him happy. She needed to find a way to make this man her temporary protector.
After all, she is a doctor. Although she didn’t have any actual combat experience during her seven years in medical school, she knows and understands quite a bit. This kind of thing, as long as she endures it, will pass quickly. If he is skilled, she might even feel pleasure. She can treat it as if she found a one-night stand or hired a high-class escort. It’s just giving up her body, not a big deal for survival.
Chuyu was giving herself a strict psychological preparation. Lu Zimo, however, looked down at her from above, making no further moves. His calm yet playful gaze made Chuyu increasingly uncomfortable, and she finally couldn’t withstand his stare and turned her head away: “What do you want to do?”
“What can I do?”
Lu Zimo’s voice clearly carried a hint of mockery. Chuyu turned to look at him. What does this mean… Is he implying that he is a virtuous man who has never tasted forbidden fruit?!
“Didn’t anyone tell you?” Lu Zimo looked at Chuyu’s face, which was alternating between green and white, and the smile on his face grew even more pronounced. The words he uttered, however, sent a chill to the bottom of Chuyu’s heart: “I want women just to play with them for fun. I—cannot be humane.”
The sun! In the depths of her heart, Chuyu suddenly erupted with a civilized curse, saying it would be better to be raped by her second brother. This guy is actually a pervert!
