- Chapter 36 - A little addicted
Yu Nan pushed him away again, trying to catch his breath. He pointed at Bei Yuye’s nose and warned, “Keep your mouth away, or you’re going to get smacked.”
Bei Yuye pouted, looking at him with a hint of frustration. He wasn’t quite satisfied yet. Nan Nan looked so good even in women’s clothes, despite the drastic contrast from his usual self.
It seemed they had finally found a breakthrough. After kissing, Yu Nan had rediscovered their previous playful dynamic. Unconsciously, his hand wandered to Bei Yuye’s abs.
“I’ve read in novels that abs are hard when you bump into them, but soft when you rest your head on them. Why is that?” He squeezed his hand but found that he couldn’t really pinch them—too firm.
Bei Yuye asked, “Do you like them hard or soft?”
“Soft,” Yu Nan replied. But when he squeezed again, Bei Yuye’s abs had softened. Could he control them? He didn’t have abs himself, so he wasn’t sure.
Bei Yuye raised an eyebrow, clearly pleased with Yu Nan’s smile, and explained, “Normally, they’re soft, but when you touched them, I tensed up to show off.”
“I like how honest you are. Come here,” Yu Nan beckoned with a finger. He had to admit, after that first kiss, he might be getting a bit addicted.
After the movie, he suddenly realized he wouldn’t be able to go back to the dorm tonight. He messaged his friends in the group chat, asking which hotel they were staying at.
“What’s Nan Nan doing?” Bei Yuye asked, hugging him from behind and resting his chin on his neck.
Normally, Yu Nan would reject such a gesture, but he accepted it quickly this time. He turned his head and gave Bei Yuye a quick peck on the lips. “Looking for a hotel.”
“Ah, isn’t that a bit too fast?” Bei Yuye buried his face in Yu Nan’s shoulder, shy.
“Hmm?” Yu Nan was puzzled. “What are you thinking? I’m meeting my friends.”
Bei Yuye suddenly thought of a high school senior he once knew and pouted, “Okay, okay. I get it. We can’t go back to school at this hour anyway. Why don’t we just book a hotel together?”
Yu Nan hailed a taxi. On the way, Bei Yuye kept asking question after question, while Yu Nan chatted with his friends and dealt with Bei Yuye’s curiosity.
People are full of surprises—who would’ve thought that someone as cold and aloof as Bei Yuye could be so clingy and affectionate?
The weather was getting colder. As they got out of the taxi, Yu Nan shivered and said, “Bei Bei, kiss.”
Bei Yuye skillfully leaned in for a light kiss.
Yu Nan patted his cheek, satisfied. “Not bad, not bad.”
Bei Yuye, thrilled by the praise, immediately pulled him in for another deep kiss. Only when Yu Nan tapped his cheek again did he stop—he had learned that this was Yu Nan’s signal to slow down.
“Do you like skirts a lot, Nan Nan?” He asked.
Yu Nan simply responded, “Mm-hmm.”
“Then I’ll buy you lots of cute skirts. Will you wear them for me?” Bei Yuye asked, nuzzling Yu Nan’s face gently. He loved every bit of physical contact with him.
There were six of them total, and when Doggo and the others had booked rooms earlier, they had included Yu Nan.
Coincidentally, Bei Yuye’s room was on the same floor as Yu Nan’s. Before they parted ways, Yu Nan called out again, “Bei Bei, kiss.”
Ever since their first kiss, he couldn’t stop thinking about it. He felt a little obsessed.
“Why don’t you ever get handsy with me?” After the kiss, Bei Yuye asked seriously, “I see other people getting all touchy when they kiss.”
Yu Nan tentatively reached for Bei Yuye’s butt and politely asked, “Can I touch this?”
“Can we kiss a bit more in the room before you go?” Bei Yuye suggested.
Yu Nan glanced at the group chat one last time—no new messages, which was a good sign. Wrapping his arms around Bei Yuye’s neck, he relented, “Just for a little while.”
Bei Yuye wasted no time lifting him up and carrying him to the room. Once inside, he pressed him against the door and started kissing again. It wasn’t long before Yu Nan raised his hand to lightly tap Bei Yuye’s face.
His gaze fell on Bei Yuye’s collarbone, and he leaned in to try leaving a love bite.
Bei Yuye felt a tickle as Yu Nan sucked on his shoulder. He sat down with him on his lap, letting him do as he pleased.
Looking at his handiwork, Yu Nan beamed brightly. But it was getting late, so he said it was time to leave.
Reluctantly, Bei Yuye walked him to the door, following him even those few short steps.
“Kiss, kiss,” Yu Nan said once more at the door.
Bei Yuye quickly leaned in, then looked at Yu Nan seriously. “Now that we’ve kissed, aren’t you responsible for me?”
Yu Nan’s expression faltered for a moment. “Alright, alright. Now, head back.”
After finally dealing with Bei Yuye, Yu Nan watched him go into his room before heading to his own. Everyone was gathered there.
When Doggo opened the door, he quickly pointed at him and said, “Your turn! Word association game, go!”
“Uh… Me… Me… Magnificent!” Yu Nan’s brain raced to come up with a word.
Rain is quietly falling immediately followed with, “Gain and loss!”
“Loss… stone… perfect!” Milk Tea cheered, pumping his fist.
Yu Nan noticed that everyone had sticky notes with words stuck to their faces. It wasn’t hard to guess what game they’d been playing.
He pulled off his wig, which he had worn for a while. His black hair was damp with sweat, and running his fingers through it made him feel much more comfortable.
“How was the date?” Kitty asked.
He sat down. The dinner and movie hadn’t been that exciting, but the kissing? That had been fun. He honestly shared that kissing had felt pretty great.
Milk Tea tried to picture Bei Yuye and Yu Nan kissing, but the image felt strange, like his close friends had grown up without him noticing.
Doggo asked, “We’re planning to go to the amusement park tomorrow. Want to bring the ‘deeply affectionate bro’ along?”
“I don’t want to wear a wig again. My hair’s too long, and it’ll just get in the way at the amusement park,” Yu Nan said. The long hair had been a hassle even today, flying everywhere during the kisses.
Kitty immediately raised her hand, “I brought a short wig! You should bring ‘deeply affectionate bro’ to the amusement park. I’ve already thought of your outfit for tomorrow!”
Watch the Sword then teased, “Still want to kiss? If you do, then ask him out again.”
Yu Nan hesitated. He did want to kiss again. He decided he’d ask Bei Yuye about it later.
“What’s the entrance score for your university?” Rain is quietly falling asked.
Milk Tea raised his hand, proudly flashing a number and grinning, “Don’t underestimate my intelligence; I got in with solid scores.”
Kitty chimed in, “Doggo and I are at the same university, and our cutoff score is about twenty to thirty points lower. You could consider transferring to our school.”
Rain is quietly falling turned to Watch the sword, “What about you,?”
He tapped his chin, pretending to be deep in thought, “Do you really want to know?”
Rain nodded.
Watch the sword still didn’t give a straight answer: “My school is the farthest from here; it’s across several provinces. By the way, do you guys have chants when you do exercises in high school? Like left foot this, right foot that?”
Yu Nan was the first to catch on and clapped excitedly, “Didn’t you spend a lot of time gaming too?”
Watch the sword scratched his head, “Well, I just focus on studying. I’ve been called a bookworm my whole life.”
Over the years, they had all faced college entrance exams. When Yu Nan got into his ideal university, he had celebrated in the group chat, but they had never revealed their schools.
“Let’s take a group photo; now I can say I have super-smart friends,” Kitty suggested, holding up her phone.
Doggo squeezed into the frame, and Milk Tea hopped in too. Kitty went to get a selfie stick and called over Yu Nan and Rain to join.
“Let’s find a variety show to watch,” Kitty said, clicking on the TV, landing on “The Scenery Along the Way” without a second thought.
Yu Nan rarely watched variety shows, but with so many people around, he settled in to watch.
The first guest on screen was a girl in a loose, long dress. He recognized her as Lin Shiyu, a former child star who had acted in a script written by his father.
“Lin Shiyu is coming back for season two,” Milk Tea mentioned while watching.
Rain is quietly falling nodded, “I grew up watching her dramas.”
Suddenly, their phones chimed simultaneously with a call from Dreams are everything. To avoid disturbing others, they let Doggo answer.
“How’s it going, my friends? Is Yu Yu’s date going smoothly?” Dreams are everything’s voice was as gentle as ever.
Watch the sword spoke up first, “He said the date didn’t feel right, but the kiss felt good!”
Yu Nan quickly intervened to stop him from saying more.
“Haha, if I weren’t busy, I would’ve gone too.”
“As long as he is happy. Alright, I’ll head over now. If anything happens, I’ll call again.”Â
The call ended abruptly, and the group dispersed, continuing to watch the show and chat idly. After finishing two episodes and a late-night snack, they eventually wrapped things up.
The room filled with the scent of snacks was left to the losers, Doggo and Rain, through a game of rock-paper-scissors.
“Did the ‘deeply affectionate bro’ head home?” Pei Yunchuan asked Yu Nan.
Yu Nan shook his head, “He booked a hotel, so he’s on this floor too.”
He was checking if Bei Yuye was going to the amusement park.
Bei Bei replied: “I’m going, I’m going! Are we just the two of us?”
Yu Nan typed back: “My friends are going too, but I can bring you along.”
Bei Bei: “Then will I meet your friends? I’m so shy!”
Pei Yunchuan held up some skewers he couldn’t finish: “No waste! Is he asleep? If not, I’ll take this over to him.”
They had all shared a late-night meal, ordering a lot, and by the end, they were stuffed. Not wanting to waste food, they resorted to rock-paper-scissors again, with the loser taking the leftovers home.
Pei Yunchuan lost badly and ended up carrying a pile of food out of the room.
“He’s not asleep,” Yu Nan replied to him.
Pei Yunchuan suggested, “Send him a message to come get the food.”
“He probably won’t eat this fried stuff,” Yu Nan recalled that even during their barbecue earlier, Bei Yuye only grilled the food and ate the veggies sadly.
Pei Yunchuan slapped his chest confidently: “Change your approach. If you send it, he’ll eat it.”
Pei Yunchuan knew how much Bei Yuye valued this online relationship; otherwise, he wouldn’t have complained about it in the group chat for so long.
Now he could only marvel at how every step in life seemed unexpected. He had to tell his brother: Bei Yuye had gone on a date and kissed!
Deadpan Face: “Are you jealous?”
Pei Yunchuan: “What are you talking about???”
Deadpan Face: “I received an interesting voice message today; you know what I mean.”
Deadpan Face: “He said you impersonated his online dating partner, causing great emotional distress to his young heart.”
