- Chapter 6 - What happened to deep love?
Milk Tea: @Yu Nan, do you feel sorry for your online love?
Yu Nan: What happened to the Affectionate Guy again?
Dreams are everything: Did Love Guy change his code name?
Rain is quietly falling: But seriously @Milk Tea, every time you complain, it’s about how your friend treats his online lover so well. Calling him Pure Love Guy is fair, isn’t it?
Milk Tea: …
Milk Tea: I’m going to find Pure Love Affectionate Love Guy now.
Yu Nan laughed out loud, but the next second, Bei Yuye appeared. His laughter stopped. Knowing Bei Yuye’s complicated feelings, his view of him also became complicated.
Bei Yuye looked at the message his friend sent him and couldn’t process it for a moment. He had just been called a love-brained fool.
Pei Yunchuan: Pure Love Affectionate Love Guy.
Pei Yunchuan: Are you happy now?
Why the sudden compliment?
Bei Yuye asked: Why are you suddenly complimenting me?
After Yu Nan came out of the shower, feeling refreshed, he was ready to enjoy a good night, which, of course, involved reading some sweet comics.
Wait, he remembered he was supposed to draw some emoticons. He got out of bed to grab his tablet.
He opened an app he hadn’t used in a while and randomly swiped the pen across the screen. Everything was ready; he just needed to draw.
In high school, he was obsessed with comics. Since he was studying art, he practiced human anatomy diligently to draw all kinds of colored pictures.
Thanks to his past efforts!
He opened his photo album to find a reference picture. He had a collection specifically for Bei Bei’s photos. Drawing a few Q-style emoticons was easy; he didn’t even need the reference photos.
Raising his pen high, he felt that once he started, there was no turning back. Enthusiastically, he continued drawing the main figure, completely engrossed.
He finished drawing the body, feeling more satisfied as he looked at it. The anatomical structure, the broad shoulders, the narrow waist, the chest muscles, and the abs were perfect.
He quickly colored it roughly and added some shadows. Looking at it from a distance, it seemed like a masterpiece, boosting his confidence.
He took a picture with his phone and sent it to the group chat.
Dreams are everything: Master, more, more, we need more.
Rain is quietly falling: Master, more, more, we need more.
He hadn’t drawn in a long time. In high school, he would post his drawings in the group chat almost daily, drawing whatever came to mind.
Yu Nan: It’s been a while since I drew a brotherhood picture. I’ll check your outfits tomorrow.
Dreams are everything: Change clothes now!
Yu Nan lightly touched the screen with his pen. Should he draw clothes?
After some careful consideration, he decided not to draw them.
Finally, it was time for the colored tattoo. He always saved the parts he was most eager to draw for last.
Skillfully enlarging the area around the abs, he compared it to Bei Bei’s photo and drew the tattoo.
Hearing some noise from the other side of the room, he looked up to see his junior getting ready to sleep.
He put away his pen, planning to continue drawing during the day.
Realizing it was already midnight, he calculated that he had been drawing for over four hours.
He set aside his tablet and grabbed his phone, unlike his junior who had an early class. He didn’t have any morning classes.
Logging into the game, he completed his daily tasks and went to his manor to harvest his favorite large tomatoes.
Such games can become boring without someone to play with, but having a companion can make it last a long time.
Last summer, when this game was released, none of his friends played it except for him.
He hadn’t planned on playing it for long until he met Bei Bei, and the game became his regular pastime.
In the game, he had a brotherhood team with Bei Bei, but it was quite inactive, with everyone doing their own thing.
He played a healer character and was bonded with him.
After quickly finishing his tasks, he logged off and looked for a bedtime sweet story.
Yawning before finding one, he didn’t deprive himself of sleep. Feeling sleepy, he went to sleep immediately.
He was woken up by the sound of a voice call.
Groggily, he reached for his phone and tried to open his eyes to answer it, hearing Milk Tea panting.
“Guess what I’m doing? I’m on my way to my first early class!”
“This is my first early class, and I’m late. I wanted to record it, so you all can be witnesses.
Yu Nan finally opened his eyes at 7:58. He hadn’t woken up this early in a long time and didn’t want to waste it.
He immediately switched accounts to send a voice message to Bei Bei: “Baby, are you in the classroom?”
Bei Bei quickly replied: “Why are you awake so early today?”
Yu Nan, still not fully awake, responded softly: “Today is your first day of class. I was worried you’d be late, so I woke up to remind you.”
Sitting in the classroom, Bei Yuye looked at his friend who had just arrived a minute late and smirked.
His NanNan was so adorable.
Pei Yunchuan sat next to him: “Lucky I ran fast.”
“Baby, if you’re still sleepy, take a nap.” Class was starting, so Bei Yuye lowered his voice.
Pei Yunchuan, overhearing the sweet talk, immediately knew who it was for.
How would the world change with one less love-brained friend?
“I’ve been telling everyone about your online romance,” Pei Yunchuan said quietly.
Bei Yuye raised an eyebrow: “Did you tell the other six fairies?”
Pei Yunchuan turned red, angrily flipping through his book to vent his frustration.
After seeing their chat group name by accident, Bei Yuye had called him “fairy” for a while.
Pei Yunchuan said: “One calls you Pure Love Guy, one calls you Love Guy, and one calls you Affectionate Guy.”
“No wonder you suddenly complimented me yesterday; it was the other fairies who praised me.” Bei Yuye realized.
Seeing his friend’s smug look, Pei Yunchuan thought, does falling in love make people lose their minds?
“We only have this one class together.” He double-checked their schedules.
Since they were in different faculties, having even one class together was lucky.
Bei Yuye nonchalantly responded, “Yeah,” then went back to reviewing his chat history with NanNan, where every message was proof of their love.
The call from Milk Tea left Yu Nan wide awake. He got up, grabbed his tablet, and continued drawing.
He added a face, drew a stylish hairstyle, and admired it from a distance. It looked good but felt a bit plain.
Creating a new layer, he altered the original pose to a kneeling one with hands behind the back and head tilted upwards.
Now, this felt right.
Adding his favorite choker around the neck and finally drawing pants, he gleefully tweaked and refined the drawing.
Time flew by as he focused on his art, feeling he had barely done any detailed work before several hours passed.
With no classes in the afternoon except for a late one at six, he felt time moved faster since he started college. Reflecting on this, he opened the game.
He logged in, opened everyone’s character profiles, took screenshots, and decided to draw the brotherhood team. Drawing once in a while, he aimed to finish in one go.
He didn’t skip classes, even the less important ones, because he didn’t dare to. So, he headed out at 5:40 for his evening class.
Finding a corner seat, he signed in, completing the main task for this class.
After class, he went to the cafeteria for dinner. He liked the second-floor mala hotpot because they served iced sour plum juice in summer.
Not very tasty but not bad, he liked it.
“Is that your senior?”
Yu Nan looked up to see his junior and his friend.
He then looked down, feeling annoyed.
His junior’s friend whispered in his ear, seemingly speaking quietly, but loud enough for him to hear, making him look up.
It was a busy time in the cafeteria, but he didn’t want to share a table, hoping they would take the hint.
“Senior, can we sit here?” Bei Yuye asked, approaching.
Lacking perception, Yu Nan forced a smile: “Sure, go ahead.”
The junior was quiet, and so was his friend, and so was Yu Nan.
The three of them ate in silence, truly embodying the phrase “eating without talking.”
Walking back to the dorm, Yu Nan wondered if his presence made the junior and his friend even quieter.
Seeing couples reluctant to part at each dorm entrance, he realized he hadn’t seen Bei Yuye’s girlfriend yet. The junior’s girlfriend must be a beauty, he thought.
But Bei Yuye wasn’t very likable, he sighed inwardly.
“Senior, walk a bit further,” Bei Yuye suddenly said.
Yu Nan, confused but following, walked a few steps ahead.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
Bei Yuye: “I just saw a dog lying there.”
Remembering yesterday’s incident, Yu Nan wondered if the junior was afraid of dogs.
“Thanks,” he politely expressed his gratitude.
Back in the dorm, Yu Nan quickly went for a shower first.
He wanted to finish the drawing of Bei Bei tonight, so he wanted to clean up and start drawing as soon as possible.
After his shower, something was tossed to him, which he instinctively caught.
“I bought too much,” Bei Yuye awkwardly explained.
Yu Nan smiled knowingly and climbed into his favorite bed.
Daily check-in with Bei Bei: Baby, what are you doing?
Bei Bei: About to shower.
Nan Nan: Be careful, don’t slip.
Bei Yuye immediately messaged his friend: He even worries about me slipping in the shower, telling me to be careful.
Yu Nan continued refining the drawing, focusing on the tattoo. Once there was no place left to modify, he zoomed out to admire it, finding no flaws.
Saving the drawing, he sent it to Bei Bei with a drooling emoji.
When Bei Yuye received the picture, he immediately zoomed in on every part, scrutinizing every detail.
The choker was obviously something NanNan liked, so he added it. He quickly opened a shopping app to buy a choker for himself, and a leash to go with it.
He liked what NanNan liked.
The other end of the leash would surely be held by him.
One with bells, let’s get one. A pink one, NanNan likes pink too. What does this term mean? Asphyxiation? How thrilling, NanNan must like it too. Let’s get one.
Next time, he would take pictures and show them to him.
The character’s head in the drawing was tilted upward, but it was clear there was a red silk scarf over the eyes.
Keep shopping, he thought. What NanNan liked, he liked too.
