Gender Reversed Geum Taeyang - Chapter 26
Chapter 26 – Semi-Forced Collaboration Stream (3)
Sometimes I’ve had thoughts like that.
‘What if I had a girlfriend?’
Ah. Of course, I’m talking about my previous world.
Objectively… though I’m not sure if that word applies, but anyway, objectively I was considered fairly good-looking. Not an incredible beauty, but definitely someone who’d be called handsome.
Well. Actually, being handsome or whatever didn’t matter since I was forever single.
While I was too busy with work to think about dating, that’s not what I’m trying to say here.
When I didn’t even have a single friend my age, wouldn’t it have been strange to have a girlfriend? The only people I was close to were older men.
Anyway, my conclusion is that it would have been hard to have a good relationship.
Because I didn’t have money.
Pasta? That’s crazy food. Restaurants charging over 10,000 won as a baseline for those mere noodles, eating them wouldn’t even give you energy for work.
Tteokbokki? That’s even crazier. Now we’re in an era where even tteokbokki costs over 10,000 won.
And it’s not like I particularly liked soup rice either. Even soup rice prices now exceed 8,000 won.
I learned to cook because money was precious.
In the previous world, being a man who could cook might have had some appeal, but everything within reason.
Who would want to date a man who only eats at home because he’s stingy?
Well, so I built up my cooking skills. Enormously. Through trial and error.
Cooking and eating alone in a one-room apartment, if you experience it yourself, you’d know how sad it is. At least it should taste good so it’s not too pitiful.
Especially with fried rice, which I loved, I dare say I reached a godly level.
Some might ask if I’m being too arrogant… but looking at Ari’s expression now, I don’t think anyone would say that?
“What… what did you put in this?! How can it taste like this?”
“I think I just added whatever I saw in the fridge appropriately. Can’t remember exactly.”
-The visuals are insane
-I haven’t had dinner yet ㅠㅠ
-You’re a cooking veteran lol*¹
Forget pasta, tteokbokki, and soup rice. In front of a mastered fried rice chef, they’re just slop.
“There weren’t many ingredients, right?”
“That’s true. But I’m not one to be constrained by ingredients.”
-The vibe of experience ‘shivering’*²
-How many years of experience does it take to make food like that
Hmm. Truly, it couldn’t be anything but a happy day.
Finally, my cooking skills got to shine in front of a woman.
Whether it’s due to my cooking or the time passing, Ari seems to have definitely gotten hungrier.
Judging by how her cautious movements are getting faster.
I should taste some now too. Though I tried bits while cooking to check, it wasn’t enough to fill me up.
Thousands of viewers in front, a stunning beauty beside me.
Perfect place to show off my manly eating broadcast.
I scooped up a big spoonful of rice and put it in my mouth.
As expected. My cooking is insane.
Pft!-
While I was eating enthusiastically, I heard a sound along with a piercing gaze from beside me.
Ari looking at me while trying to hold back laughter.
What is it?
“Khuheub! Aren’t you eating too quickly?”
-Cheeks are so full lololol
-Puffy chipmunk lololol
No. How dare they slander my manly eating broadcast.
I wanted to retort but my mouth was too full of food to speak.
I looked at her with a sulky expression, displeased with the situation.
Seeing me like that, Ari burst out laughing even more.
“Ahaha!!”
-Is this… gap moe?
-lololol
-Eating like an ajumma but why is it cute lololol
Is this what they call being a clown?
“You. I’m never cooking for you again.”
Well.
Still.
It was fun eating together.
###
For a healthy lifestyle, it’s not bad to move around a bit after meals.
But for us who make our living sitting in front of computers playing games, even that’s a luxury.
Moreover, where would we go when two streamers are doing a collaboration?
After the meal that ended quickly due to prolonged hunger, we concluded that while chatting was good, we needed something else.
So I brought out the Nintendo Switch.
Multiplayer games you can play on one computer are very limited, and honestly, I don’t even know what’s available.
In contrast, the Switch is very friendly to multiplayer gaming.
Plus, it has many games that are enjoyable not just for the players but also for viewers, making it suitable for broadcasting.
And there’s another reason…
It’s good for showing off my gaming skills…
Before getting this body, I wasn’t particularly good at games so I didn’t know.
But it turns out it’s quite enjoyable when others praise your gaming skills.
Well, being born male, that could happen, right?
Anyway, when I suggested Mario Kart, the racing game we played earlier, to Ari, she made an unsatisfied expression.
Certainly, my fraudulent body did work well then.
Getting first place so much that it seemed excessive…
She finally gave in when I used my killer move asking if she was scared of a guy.
.
.
.
Hmm.
Maybe winning 9 out of 10 races was a bit much.
Even in the one race I didn’t get first, I was second and Ari was 8th. For reference, 8th was last place.
My characteristically bad luck could be overcome this time thanks to earlier experience, which might be why I achieved such overwhelming results.
“Huuuh…”
Seeing her making strange sounds with her head on the desk made me feel somewhat sorry.
“Rete-nim…? Are you okay? I guess I was pretty good?”
-Rete-nim was grinding teeth while racing lololo
-Ah nothing happened lolol
-Why is Taeyang so good at games
-For real, he’s insane
“Rete-nim…? Don’t be mad… I’ll cook for you again next time.”
“Different game… Let’s play one more with a different game.”
Ari speaking in a low voice while grinding her teeth.
-Too ugly…
-Just give up Rete-nim ‘hehe’*³
-Taeyang-nim’s skills are no joke
-It’ll be different this time lololol
-For real lololol
“Mario Party. Let’s end with this as the last game.”
“…Ah.”
Mario Party.
A turn-based game where you roll dice to collect ‘Stars’ on the map.
The person with more ‘Stars’ at the end wins.
While the mini-games in between can be overcome with some skill, it’s basically a game dominated by luck.
Even if you have more ‘Stars’ at the end, first place can change due to luck.
A game of pure, endless luck.
My natural enemy.
“No… well, do we need to play again, Rete-nim? We’ve played a lot already… Let’s just chat and end the stream. Okay?”
Having just firmly established my image as a gaming veteran, I can’t accept this variable!
Seeing me trying to dissuade her with a panicked expression, Ari started to show a vicious-looking smile.
No. That’s my specialty.
In her previous broadcasts, Ari always maintained a certain level of seriousness, but now her expressions are quite varied.
While this would make the broadcast more entertaining…
“Scared?”
Oh my.
I can’t let that slide.
###
Although we only played one game of Mario Party since each round takes a long time, it was already time to end the stream.
I told my viewers I’d stream until 2 AM next time, so they should go.
How were the game results?
I don’t know. Anyway, I don’t know. I don’t want to know either.
How does it make sense to lose your ‘Stars’ the very next turn after struggling to get them?
How dare they make something like that and call it a game.
“Yuhan, are you okay?”
“Uh… no.”
Anyway, time passed and it’s 12 o’clock.
Although the last memory was terrible, today was really fun overall.
It was even more enjoyable since it was my first experience visiting a friend’s house.
The only problem is that I missed the timing to go home because we had too much fun?
From the start, doing a collaboration meant streaming together until night, but I was stupid not to realize that.
“Ah right. Yuhan, tell me when you want to rest and go home. I’ll drive you.”
No, did Ari not realize it either? I should take back what I said about being stupid.
Well, Ari probably didn’t think much about it since she could drive me even if it got late.
Hmm. Honestly, night driving is a bit concerning. I don’t know how good Ari’s skills are, but she’s only 23 and just finished military service.
She even forgot to wear a seatbelt earlier.
She did drive me during evening hours before, but it was still relatively bright then.
While my body boasts unimaginable performance so I’m not worried, Ari isn’t like that.
But a man staying at a single woman’s house… This is a reverse world.
Still, it feels a bit strange. Sleeping at someone’s house who has a boyfriend.
Moreover, I even gave them relationship advice recently. Though ‘advice’ might be too grand a term, but anyway.
I’m not that unconscionable a person.
While I was contemplating like that, it seems Geum Taeyang couldn’t hold back.
My mouth opens on its own.
“Ari, isn’t it dangerous to drive too late?”
“Huh? But I can’t let you go alone?”
It’s not me speaking.
I was still thinking.
This damn Geum Taeyang. His gentle tone makes me even more anxious.
“Um… I…”
“Yes?”
I really hope it’s not what I think.
For some reason, it’s easier to predict what lines will come out today, making me more anxious.
“Just… want to sleep with you…”
I knew it.
Perfect prediction.
Is this what they call experience.
Life.
(End of chapter)
P.s. 1. Here they are using ‘ㅋㅋㅋ’ which is more like “hahaha”/ “lololol”. It’s a harsher laugh than no. 3. ‘ㅋㅋㅋ’ literally means “kekeke” .
2. Here they are using ‘ㄷㄷㄷ’ – This represents shivering or trembling. It’s the first consonant of ‘덜덜덜’ (deol-deol-deol), which is the Korean for trembling. Often used to express fear or being impressed. I tried using 🥶. But it looked coarse to the eye. So instead ‘shivering’.
3. Here they are using ‘ㅎㅎㅎ’ – This is a laughing sound, similar to “hehehe” in English. It’s a softer, friendlier laugh compared to ‘ㅋㅋㅋ’. So, from now on I’ll be using ‘lol’ for the 1st one and ‘hehe’ for the 3rd one.
