Gender Reversed Geum Taeyang - Chapter 29
Chapter 29 – Rete’s Inflow (1)
-“Yuhan? What’s this?”
-“(Photo)”
-“Yuhan?”
-“You didn’t have to go this far.”
-“I was just so flustered.”
-“I’m really sorry.”
-“I’ll do better next time.”
“My words were strange because I was so flustered.”
-“Really, thank you.”
“I’ll enjoy eating it.”
“(Photo)”
-“Yuhan? What is this?”
-“Did you do the dishes too before leaving?”
-“No way?”
-”why?”
“ㅠㅠㅠㅠ”
Good heavens. I was browsing other streams when I came back to find this situation.
Before starting my stream, I checked my phone and found an enormous amount of KakaoTalk messages accumulated. All from Ari.
I found it somewhat characteristic of Ari how she peculiarly put periods at the end of each message.
I understand her feeling grateful, but… was it too burdensome?
Thinking about it in reverse, Ari came to our house, did the dishes, and even cooked before leaving.
Hmm. I guess it could be burdensome.
But what should I do about this? Right now, I’m not the one feeling burdened.
Originally, people consider themselves the most important.
The mindset that it’s fine as long as it’s not me. I’m not feeling burdened right now, so it’s fine.
Well, putting aside these pointless thoughts. It’s 5:50 now, so it’s been almost three hours since those messages came.
I should quickly reply and prepare for the stream.
-“You’re welcome”
-“Lol”
No. This wasn’t what I intended to write.
Well, it probably won’t be a big issue. She won’t be hurt by such a short reply since I did quite a lot before leaving.
After sending the reply, I threw my phone, now on silent mode, roughly onto the bed.
Though it made a thud sound hitting the wall due to poor aim, my old phone won’t be damaged by such impacts anyway.
Now less than 10 minutes remain until stream start.
Yesterday, I ended an hour earlier than usual at midnight while streaming with Ari.
Today I plan to fill that hour, so the stream will end around 2 AM.
Usually, I’d worry if my meager streaming content could last that long, but today it won’t be a problem.
Actually, though not much time has passed since I started streaming, I’ve always played the same game, so I expect quite a good response to the new game I prepared today.
The Switch is divine.
###
[Running until 2 AM]
“Hu-hu-hu”
“Hu-hu”
“GH GH”
“Hu hu hu. Nice to see you all.”
Originally, as discussed on the day I first met Ari at the orphanage, I was planning to do a collab stream with her someday.
At that time, I did make that promise without much thought to ease her guilt towards me, but that’s not really important.
My expected collab date was after my stream grew a bit more.
I thought if I did a collab too early with such a major corporate streamer, my stream might lose its unique color.
Well, looking at these chats, it seems that was a needless worry.
-“Looking big and firm today, teacher”
-“First time here but damn handsome lololol”
-“Thanks Rete for introducing someone like this”
-“Fr really thankful lol”
-“Let’s all bow once towards Seoul”
Already 300 viewers. Clearly more than usual. The number is still increasing in real-time.
Judging by their comments, as expected, they seem to be viewers from Rete’s stream.
I had heard that Rete’s viewers were generally mild-mannered. I even experienced it somewhat directly yesterday.
But why are they acting like this here?
Why do the chats feel similar to usual when there’s more than triple the normal viewers?
Were they originally from internet communities rather than Rete’s stream?
It’s not strange for viewers to have different atmospheres in different streams, and for one viewer to chat differently in each stream.
But this is too much.
During yesterday’s stream, I noticed Rete’s viewers chatting more comfortably, probably influenced by my stream viewers. Rete also loosened up a bit.
I thought they might have somewhat adapted to my viewers’ uniquely free atmosphere…
At this level, “infection” might be a better term than “adaptation.”
Why does everyone get weird only in my room? Am I secreting some kind of pheromone? Or is it a Geum Taeyang characteristic?
Well, I’m not sure. It’s beyond my domain. It’s best to just accept these things as they are.
Anyway. Let’s start streaming.
-“Taeyang-nim, please find our Rete”
-“Give Rete back ㅠㅠ”
-“Where did Rete-nim go…”
“No… what’s that about? You should look for Rete in Rete’s stream.”
-“Rete’s taking a break today”
-“Says she won’t come today”
-“Where did she go……”
-“Notice is up”
No wonder the viewer count was increasing much faster than I expected.
Besides the inflow, there seem to be many refugees who came because Rete’s stream disappeared.
“I don’t know where Rete went either, so I can’t answer. Stop asking.”
-“Rete’s taking too many breaks lately”
-“Fr way too many”
-“Taeyang-nim doesn’t know either? ㅠㅠㅠㅠ”
Hmm. Even though we’re close streamers, I should probably warn them to focus on me during my stream.
… But since we had a collab yesterday. I can allow this much.
First, I’m grateful they came to my stream, and above all, isn’t this stream known for its free atmosphere?
By the way, where did Ari go?
One of the reasons for yesterday’s collab was that viewers might explode with complaints if Rete took another break.
I haven’t received any contact about the break either.
Well, I probably don’t need to worry about Ari, who’s my senior in streaming and quite capable.
Someone at her level should be able to take care of herself.
I should just focus on my stream for now.
-“Why are these guys looking for Rete in our room”
-“As if he’d know why she’s taking a break lol”
-“Would she tell a fellow streamer about personal matters”
“Everyone, calm down a bit. I’ve prepared something fun for today, so let’s keep things nice.”
-“???”
-“What is it”
-“What did you prepare?”
“I’ll tell you later. Right now we need to decide today’s cooking menu first.”
-“me”
-“lock”
-“just go now”
-“me”
-“why drag this out”
-“I absolutely can’t wait, host”
-“lock”
-“Fr absolutely can’t wait”
These guys have zero patience.
The chat window is suddenly flooding with nicknames I’ve never seen before.
Have they already adapted to my room? They’re learning bad culture so easily.
While thinking about how to subdue the viewers, I decided to just put on a serious expression.
Other streamers might get criticized for not being able to take a joke, but… that’s not our stream’s style, right?
“Let’s keep it moderate.”
-“We’re sorry”
-“Sorry sorry sorry”
-“^^7^^7″*¹
-“^^7”
-“Are you angry, oppa?”
-“Damn scary why’s his expression like that”
Though these viewers act like there’s no tomorrow, they get scared when I look serious.
It’s kind of cute thinking that it’s women, not even men, acting like this.
“Khuhu. You got scared by this? Why would I be angry?”
-“Really scary oppa”
-“Shit ‘shivering’”
“Fr seriously scared tbh lol”
-“Don’t do that ㅠㅠ”
-“PTSD ON”
“Now. I don’t take opinions from obsolete women who get intimidated by men. Be quiet and recommend today’s dinner menu.”
-“Going too far lolol”
-“Sh…it…”
-“Will take revenge”
-“Aren’t there any alpha females here”
-“Would such people watch this stream lololol”
-“Fr lol”
The usual comfortable atmosphere. Anyway, it’s definitely comfortable.
The daily cooking stream follows a somewhat similar format.
Getting recommendations from viewers and looking up recipes if I have the right ingredients.
I originally had quite a sense for cooking, but after my body changed, I reached a level where I could follow cooking videos from NewTube after watching just once.
An ability perfectly suited for this amateur cooking stream. At this point, isn’t this body born for streaming?
-“Gordon Ramsay burger go go”
-“Lobster butter roast”
-“Let’s make eel jelly”
-“Please make sardine pie”
Hmm. This level of chat is common even usually.
Usually, if I play along appropriately, viewers start suggesting decent menus.
“Gordon Ramsay burger, can’t due to copyright. Lobster, I’ll make it if you bring it. Eel jelly, are you crazy? Sardine pie, 1-minute chat ban.”
-“Just saying no to everything ㅠㅠㅠ”
-“What copyright lololol”
-“Why ask for recommendations if you’re gonna be like this? Fr lol”
-“King crab shell sauce ice cream”
-“Stinky tofu go go go”
Today’s new viewers seem excited, throwing out unreasonable suggestions without any basis.
Well, at least they’re excited, which is better than an unnecessarily serious atmosphere.
“Hey guys, why are you having a mental breakdown today? That’s why you can’t get partners and become obsolete. Natural selection.”
-“Stop hitting oppa….it hurts too much….”
-“Why so many obsolete jokes today”
-“Fr mental breakdown lol…anyway mental breakdown….”
“Mental breakdown? Is that so? Is that why I didn’t have a girlfriend?”
-“lol”
-“This one was funny”
-“Showing the extreme of mental breakdown lol”
-“Ah lol”
No, this makes me sad too. Why is the reaction like this?
Why do they assume I definitely have a partner?
“Why are you reacting like this? I’m a man who pursues natural meetings and pure love. Not someone who dates just anyone.”
-“Sure you are ^^7”
-“Fr heh…”
-“Natural pursuit lol”
-“You mean naturally stealing other people’s women?”
-“I pursue natural NTR”
-“No girlfriend but have friends with benefits? hehehe”
Looking at the chat window that started going crazy, I made an expression of genuine incomprehension.
Seeing that expression, all sorts of reactions poured out.
Broadcasting is definitely fun.
Is this what it feels like to hang out with multiple friends? I’m not sure, but it must be similar.
Today, since there are quite a lot of viewers, the chat is much more active than usual -though it was quite active usually- and I feel my tension rising accordingly.
The back-and-forth with viewers continued for a while, and I received several 1,000 won donations.
I don’t know how other streamers think, but these are quite meaningful donations to me.
Though I’ve received 10,000 won donations before, having conversations through 1,000 won donations is another story.
Anyway, the conversation topic that had drifted to relationship talk came back full circle.
“So, what should I eat today? I’m getting hungry.”
-“Kujira-style ramen?”
-“Meat meat meat”
-“Gwaldonenemttin with pork belly”
-“How about spaghetti?”
“Oh….. What’s this what’s this. Just an idea bank.”
Unlike the unreasonable suggestions from earlier, quite decent and good ideas are coming out.
I recently stocked the refrigerator with all sorts of ingredients for cooking streams, so I can definitely make these kinds of menus.
But.
Actually, I already decided today’s menu.
For this moment.
-“Pasta’s not bad”
-“Fr Fr”
-“Would be perfect with tomatoes”
-“These guys having a mental breakdown earlier lololo”
-“lol”
-“Is pasta decided?”
-“Looks like it from Geum Taeyang’s expression”
“Hmm….. Pasta has the most votes today?”
This is when I’m happiest. When these cute viewers’ expectations are about to crumble. Maybe my taste has become twisted since becoming Geum Taeyang.
It’s not like I’m committing a huge crime, just playing a prank that will irritate them just enough.
I won’t do it again after today anyway.
“Isn’t pasta too masculine a food”
-“Taeyang-kun is a man though”
-“This is… a man?”
-“lol”
-“Let’s gooooo”
“Then. Let’s eat kimchi fried rice today.”
-“?”
-“?”
-“?”
-“Dude”
(End of chapter)
P.s. 1. ‘^^7’ – This is an emoticon salute. The ‘^^ ‘ represents smiling eyes, and the ‘7’ looks like an arm raised in salute. It’s often used to show respect in a playful way.
