Gender Reversed Geum Taeyang - Chapter 3
Chapter 3 – The First Broadcast
Viewers often call low viewership broadcasts “hakko-bang” (small broadcasts).
As much as these hakko-bangs deviate from the mainstream, various types of people gather there.
Among them, if we were to pick the two extremes:
One is the group who enjoys chatting directly with the streamer and watching the broadcast grow.
The other is the group who deliberately enters hakko-bangs where each chat is clearly visible and deliberately posts malicious chats.
Here, a viewer belonging to that malicious group, Jiyoung.
Her hobby is to enter broadcasts with almost no viewers and diligently chat using her signature rude language style before leaving.
There is a subtle aspect to her hobby, for example her personal rule of not entering completely viewer-less broadcasts.
This is because she has the psychological desire to show herself angering others, so she wants other viewers to witness her “work.”
And here, a male streamer caught her eye.
Nickname “Geumtaeyang” (Golden hunk). 15 viewers.
It seems he’s streaming a game called “Minecraft” but the screen only shows his face. What is this? Self-advertising?
The viewer count was too fitting to pass up for her “work,” so she immediately clicked on the broadcast.
A shocking broadcast screen.
His rugged blond hair made his outstandingly handsome face (even by national standards) look depraved, and the single piercing on his earlobe amplified that feeling.
His expression with one corner of his mouth curled up seemed not just overflowing with confidence, but containing some lewd desire. The leather jacket draped over his chair blatantly showcased his taste.
Jiyoung thought the nickname “Geumtaeyang” suited him too well.
If it had been a woman with that kind of impression streaming, Jiyoung would have immediately fled to another broadcast.
Then, a chilling voice was heard.
“Hey. Why are you staring with such disgusting eyes?”
Jiyoung immediately lowered her gaze from the screen, then awkwardly looked back up.
Now that she thinks about it, wasn’t this person streaming a game?
Normally streamers put a small window with their cam feed in the bottom right while streaming the game.
But what is this?
The fullscreen cam and a small game window in the bottom right corner. And of all games, the out-of-place Minecraft.
What is he trying to do? Doesn’t he get banned for this?
“Hey, your house look nice. Let me use it for a bit.”
What is he going to do by taking a single house in the village?
He stuck out his tongue slightly, licked his lips, and let out a nasty laugh.
He delivered a line while looking at a bed in the game.
“Heheheheh… Having to put a degenerate female on such a plump bed, isn’t life so sad? How about cuddling with my 180cm muscular body instead?”
At this point, one’s mind would go blank.
But Jiyoung was a pro at being malicious. She was confident she could break any streamer’s mentality.
-ã…‹ (Korean laugh)
It started with a single ‘ã…‹.’ This letter that undoubtedly gives off a mocking vibe has offered great cost-effectiveness against streamers trying to be funny.
“What? If you want to laugh, type at least five.”
‘?” The hakko is…talking back?!’
This is unacceptable. Imagine how fun it would be to toy with the emotions of someone who looks like a delinquent!
-You seem too sensitive
“A pitiful degenerate female…talking back?!”
‘?’
A ban notification filled the screen.
Having never experienced this before, Jiyoung tried to re-enter the broadcast to complain, but those who were banned were not permitted anything.
###
“Even malicious ones are coming in. My broadcast has become quite big.”
-Has it only been 1 hour since the start?
-Can 14 viewers be considered big?
“…? Are you guys talking back too?”
-Please let me in
-Please let me in, noona (older sister)
-ã…Žã…Žã…Žã…Ž (laughing)
“No, why… Why are you calling me noona! Choose your words carefully!”
……I’m not particularly angry. It seems they’re using gender-reversed terms in context, so I’ll understand it as a sign of affection or joking.
About 1 hour has passed since starting the broadcast, and except for the one person I just banned, no viewer has left yet.
This is a quite favorable situation. For hakko-bangs, retaining the viewers that do come in is important since not many new viewers join.
I bit on the handle of the eaten hot bar from this morning and briefly reflected on the earlier situation.
After turning on the broadcast, I realized my high-spec computer didn’t have any particularly impressive games installed.
And the only game installed on that computer was Minecraft, a famous game enjoyed by many but exponentially more popular among younger ages.
Being busy with part-time jobs and job searching, I didn’t have time for time-consuming games. I also lacked the skill for multiplayer games like League of Legends, and they were emotionally draining, so I normally enjoyed solo, relaxing games like Minecraft.
Of course, Minecraft isn’t exactly suited for low-spec computers either, but still.
A delinquent playing the peaceful game of Minecraft! It has its own charm, a decent choice, I’m confident.
At first, the viewers who came in didn’t chat, maybe because of my intimidating face, but as I kept throwing out light comments, the atmosphere loosened up.
-Aren’t you going to the caves?
-When will you mine diamonds?
-Golden hunk, stop!
-Stop ntr-ing the villagers!
Caves in Minecraft are environments where various ores and monsters appear, giving off an eerie vibe, but the graphics aren’t scary.
In fact, the main Minecraft content involves mining ores or making mines in caves, so visiting them is reasonable.
But I can’t just go in casually.
I said with a gloomy expression, “Um… Do I really have to go to the caves…? It’s a bit…”
-?
-?
-Why’s your reaction like that
-ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Scared?
“No! Who’s scared of those dumb caves! I’m just saying… they’re not fun, right…?”
-ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
-Lmao ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
-Did you actually get scared?
-Looking all tough but ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
Of course, the reaction is good.
Showing this side occasionally really helps build the reversal charm. I feel like I’m deceiving the viewers, but isn’t that just how the world works?
Still, I made sure not to overdo it before finally heading to find a cave.
Upon reaching the cave entrance, I opened a 1.5L bottle placed on the desk and drank some water, as if tense.
Oh? Why is it spilling onto my clothes instead of my mouth?
“Oh shit… Gulp.”
-ㅗㅜㅑ (Surprised reaction)
-ㅗㅜㅑ
-Wow
-Oh
Looking at the cam screen, the chest area of my t-shirt was slightly see-through from the water, and water was dripping from the corner of my mouth.
I didn’t expect this… Well, something good coming out of it?
I quickly put on the leather jacket draped on the chair and wiped my mouth.
“Haa… Do guys really like the male chest that much?”
-Nay
-Yep
-I like it bro
-Take the jacket off the chair again? Reveal
“Tch. You’re all malicious too.”
Not malicious. Just cute friends with a bit of lust.
Anyway, I have to continue the game, so I started exploring the cave.
As I progressed, I occasionally showed lewd gestures, filling the chat with ‘Oh’s, and jumped a little whenever a monster appeared, which they seemed to love.
About 15 minutes into exploring the cave.
“Diamonds!”
Diamonds are the goal and purpose for Minecraft players exploring caves and mining, yet they are difficult to find based on their utility value. Just finding them makes me unintentionally burst into laughter.
“Hehehe… How’s that, isn’t it awesome? Are you impressed?”
…?
“Huh? What’s this. Did the broadcast freeze? What’s going on? …Hey, someone type in the chat.”
-Wow you’re insane
-You’re crazily handsome, seriously
-Please don’t do the tanned blond delinquent look?
-Laugh one more time
Being so bluntly called handsome makes my face flush. I am handsome, but it’s a compliment I’ve never received in my life.
Acting nonchalant, I say, “Hehehe. First time seeing a handsome guy? I was wondering what was going on.”
-Your lip is curling up
-ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
-But you feel good, don’t you?
“Alright, shut it.”
These cute brats. The viewer count that had reached 27 made me smile inwardly. This good of a situation on the first broadcast.
After mining all the diamonds, I looked at the chat and moved forward. The charm of hakko-bangs lies in direct communication with the streamer, doesn’t it?
If I give game tips, they thankfully say they already knew. If a follow notification pops up, I react to that too as I stream.
“Even if I get big, I’ll make sure to remember you 27 guys… Haaaam…”
Did exploring the cave make me yawn so long?
Tap tap tap tap
Huh? The sound of something burning.
-Look at the screen look
-Noona I’ll remember you too ahahurtahurt
-Ahh stop yawning and reveal
-Oh
-Oh
-ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
-ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
-ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
“? What are you guys doing.”
Why are they suddenly acting like this? Did someone spam the chat? As I was intently checking the previous chats, something caught the edge of my vision.
With an ominous feeling, I looked at the game screen and…
In that brief moment when I yawned, my character had fallen into lava and died.
The feeling of dejection quickly turned to rage taking over my body.
“Ah! Ah! No, seriously no!”
Bang! Bang!
The act of forcefully hitting the keyboard with my hands, an industry term called “shotgunning.”
I’m not usually someone who handles things this roughly… But I couldn’t stand the fact that my 1 hour and 30 minutes had disintegrated into thin air.
I grabbed the handle of the already eaten hot bar and snapped it in two.
“Ah… Damn it… That damn degenerate lava pig… Huuu…”
After taking 5 seconds of deep breaths and looking at the broadcast screen, I saw my menacing expression.
Showing anger with this visual pierces through the screen with an oppressive aura.
Oh, the laughter in the chat is subsiding. There’s a limit to how fun raging can be before the atmosphere gets too negative. I relaxed my expression before it went too far.
“Laugh. Aren’t you laughing? Can’t you read the situation now?”
-H…Heheh
-Oppa your face is so scary
-Heh…
“…Why are you mocking me. Do I look funny to you?”
-?
-?
-ptsddddddd
“Heheh… I’m just kidding guys. Haa… Life really sucks.”
To cool off, I gulped down some water and held the bottle against my cheek, then closed the lid and tossed it behind me.
I think I pulled off quite the fun moment. If I get angry at every little thing, streaming will be tough.
I think I handled it well enough… Right? Well, thinking positively is good!
-Woww
-Is this for real?
-A broadcast genius, insane
-Forbes’ #1 hakko-bang blessed by god
I can’t keep up with the chat at all. Every time I glance away for a second, they’re saying something different.
“Why are you guys having conversations I can’t follow? Let me in too.”
-Forbes’ #1 densest streamer
-Behind
-On the bed
What happened? If I’m slower to react than the chat, it becomes difficult to control the broadcast… Am I really that oblivious? As I turned to look behind me thinking that…….
The bottle I had just tossed was standing upright.
On the bed… More accurately, on my pillow.
With the cap facing down.
“Oh…? Heheh… Hahahahah!”
God is helping me.
I hit a legendary moment on my very first broadcast.
Is this a buff from the gender-reversal world’s special ability?
The laughter doesn’t stop. How did this situation come about?
I took off the leather jacket and tossed it away, got off the chair, and bowed in the direction of the bottle.
Then I returned and shouted facing the webcam.
“This is me!!!”
Golden hunk’s broadcast. Day 1.
The broadcast is smooth sailing.
