I Will Be Unrivaled With The Skill [Sewing]! They Said It Was A Bad Skill, But With Effort, I will Make It A Hit~ - Chapter 126
Episode 126. Teleportation
Seneca and Lucius were cooking.
Since then, they had wandered around, carrying the dismantled Minotaur, looking for a place hidden from the eyes of other monsters.
They transported the Minotaur meat on a cart. The cart was made by solidifying Lucius’s magic into a board, which Seneca then sewed together using her skill. Though it was a spur-of-the-moment idea, it turned out to be quite useful, and both of them happily pushed it along.
After walking for a while, they found a slightly elevated area and decided to make that their campsite for the night.
They weren’t sure if the length of a day in the Demon Realm was the same as in their original world, but since it was getting dark, they decided to align their rhythm accordingly.
Once they decided on a campsite, Lucius used his 【Blade】 skill to create a spade-shaped sword and started digging into the ground.
The ground in the Demon Realm often had layers of salt, like rock salt, but they couldn’t find any today.
Since there was no helping it, they had to settle for enjoying the wild, untamed flavor of their food for dinner. Seneca skewered some meat on her 【Magic Needle】 and heated the needle with fire magic. Soon, a juicy sizzling sound started coming from the meat.
It was a makeshift method of cooking, but it looked like it would turn out reasonably well. Seneca had a strong feeling that if they kept refining it, they could make decent meals.
Besides the meat, they had a vivid blue stalk. According to Lucius, it was an edible plant. He had thoroughly detoxified it, so it was probably safe—but to be honest, it was still off-putting.
Seneca grabbed a blue stalk and took a bold bite. She had decided she would try it first since Lucius was the one who could cure her if it turned out to be poisonous.
A sour taste spread through her mouth, and her saliva started flowing freely. Lucius looked at her anxiously, but to be honest—it was delicious.
“Are you okay?”
“I’ll spit it out once and rinse my mouth, just in case. It might have a delayed effect, so let’s wait a bit. But it tastes really good.”
“What kind of taste?”
“Kind of like Saitana. Sour, juicy, and with a hint of sweetness.”
“Sounds amazing.”
“I think you’d like it, Lucius.”
After confirming that there were no signs of poisoning, gathering and munching on blue stalks became one of their small pleasures during their journey through the Demon Realm.
They also ate the Minotaur meat cautiously. Maybe because it had been a weak individual, the meat was mushy and not very tasty.
Also, they’d been told since they were kids that eating only muscle wasn’t good for the body, so the two of them made sure to eat the tendons and cartilage parts as well.
They avoided the Minotaur’s innards this time since they weren’t palatable, but agreed they’d have to eat them if they couldn’t find better monsters.
Now that they had tried cooking it once, they could identify areas for improvement. Seneca planned to start experimenting tomorrow. If they could just find some salt, they believed they could have fairly tasty meals—and they were optimistic about it.
At night, they took turns keeping watch, but mostly relied on Seneca’s threads. Using 【Pin】 and 【Holy Magic】 , she created anchor points in mid-air and patch them together with magical thread to form a domed roof.
This served as both protection and an alarm system—any disturbance would send vibrations through the threads and alert Seneca.
While keeping watch alone, Lucius thought back to what had happened in Trias.
After getting word from Gradius, he and Moff had rushed to Trias with all their strength. But from a distance, they saw that the entire city was covered by a magical barrier, and powerful magic was being launched at regular intervals. It looked like everything was under control, so they decided their help wasn’t needed and instead headed toward where the monsters were coming from.
That’s how they arrived in the great Trias Forest.
There, many adventurers were already thinning out the monsters. When they asked one who seemed to be in charge, they were told to head toward a less-defended area.
As they moved toward where the monsters were thickest, they heard Plautia’s scream, which led them to rescue Seneca. And now, here they were, in the Demon Realm together.
Lucius had spent the last four years thinking about meeting Seneca again, putting in constant effort. He could never forget that final night when they watched the moon together and talked—it played in his mind over and over.
There were good things about going to the royal capital, but there were times when he questioned whether that decision had truly been right. Still, he told himself repeatedly that there was no point in regretting the past now.
He had thought about confessing his feelings many times, wondering what it would feel like. But now that they were walking side by side through the Demon Realm, it felt oddly natural—almost laughably so.
He thought he’d be flustered, but instead, he felt an inner calm. Even now, with Seneca sleeping right beside him, he didn’t feel any earthly desire.
Maybe this was what love—or even true love—was, Lucius thought. At Padokia Magic Academy, the girls often talked about how “love and romance are different,” so he’d overheard it at least a few times.
He figured this must be the difference they were talking about. And with that realization, Lucius was finally able to smile in a way that matched his age and fully embrace his reunion with Seneca.
Lucius’s sense of romance might’ve been a little off, but thanks to that, the two of them didn’t rush headlong into a passionate romance. Instead, their feelings grew steadily and gradually, closing the distance between them little by little.
The next day, the two of them continued their journey through the Demon Realm.
Apparently, the Demon Realm had rifts in space that appeared and disappeared periodically. Most of the time, they led to other subspaces, but every now and then, they connected to the original world.
Lucius said that in order to return to their original world, they would either have to wait for a rift to accidentally connect to it, or reach a place called the “Root” and defeat its Master.
At first, Seneca thought the Demon Realm was a single world, but apparently, that’s not the case. According to Lucius, the Demon Realm is a world made up of many connected subspaces, and countless ones exist.
Each of these Demon Realms has its own Master, and when the Master perishes, the realm collapses with it. In other words, aside from the Demon Realm where Seneca and the others currently are, there are other realms with similar properties, where monsters are still roaming freely.
“Complicated…”
Seneca muttered aloud as she thought.
Hearing that, Lucius revised their plan and explained it to Seneca.
“For now, let’s aim for the ‘Root.’ If we can find the Master and it looks beatable, we’ll go for it. If not, we’ll just have to wait for a rift to open that leads outside. Though who knows how many years that might take.”
Defeat the Master. Wait for a rift to randomly connect to the outside. These seemed to be the basic methods of returning. However, according to legend, there was someone who returned by a different method.
That person was the legendary hero—the Sword God. Supposedly, after being trapped in a subspace, he awakened, and by cutting through the subspace itself, caused it to collapse from within and returned to the original world by his own power. Whether or not it’s true is unknown, but the power described is astonishing.
The two of them walked along munching on some blue stalks growing nearby. They had encountered one monster yesterday, but hadn’t run into anything today so far.
From what Lucius had studied, there should’ve been more monsters around, so perhaps this subspace was particularly barren.
After walking for a while, they came across several monsters letting out shrill “pii-pii” cries.
They looked like subspecies of Dark Ostriches—bird-like monsters that run on land. But these were quite small.
“Come to think of it, this is the first time we’ve seen birds in the Demon Realm, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, true. Didn’t even notice until now. They don’t look all that strong, but… there’s a lot of them, huh?”
“Right. Lucius, I’ll need you to support me.”
Seneca observed the ostriches carefully while drawing her blade. There were eight of them.
“Lucius, watch closely, okay?”
After emphasizing that, Seneca fired twenty 【Sewing Pin】 simultaneously like a scattershot.
A sharp squawk of “Gueeeeh!” rang out as all of the ostriches turned their eyes toward Seneca and charged at her.
Seneca carefully timed her movements, then consumed ninety percent of her monstrous mana reserves to sew the space she was standing in with the space behind the ostriches using thread-like mana.
Space warped. The distant area drew near. Then, as she stepped forward and released the skill, Seneca instantly shifted positions.
The three ostriches in the rear didn’t even have time to react before their heads were lopped off by Seneca. Five remained.
Seneca then sewed the air with her sword, accelerating her swing. When striking the enemy, she focused on sewing through the gaps between their cells and the material of their bones, cleanly severing their necks with precision. Two left.
Now that it had come to this, Seneca figured a straightforward approach would do. So, he moved quickly, swung her blade swiftly, and gave them no chance to counterattack—cutting down the remaining ostriches.
“Phew…”
Using teleportation had rapidly drained her mana, leaving her feeling hollow.
“Got a little carried away.”
It seemed she had tried too hard to show off in front of Lucius.
“Good work, Seneca. Your swordsmanship is as smooth as ever. It was like watching someone glide through the air. You’ve really polished your skill.”
Unexpectedly praised by Lucius, Seneca beamed with joy.
