I Will Be Unrivaled With The Skill [Sewing]! They Said It Was A Bad Skill, But With Effort, I will Make It A Hit~ - Chapter 22
Episode 22: Return
Maior desperately tried to stay on her feet as she drank a special potion made by Kito. This potion not only restored her stamina but also slightly replenished her magic.
Using 【Detection】, she noticed that the enemies’ presence had vanished.
Seneca must have defeated them.
However, Seneca’s magical presence was extremely weak. Fearing for her safety, Maior started running.
Though the distance wasn’t great, the weight of her body and her anxiety made it feel far.
She finally spotted Seneca.
Seneca was sitting on the floor, drinking a potion.
“Seneca!”
Seneca turned towards Maior and gave a gentle smile.
“We did it, Maior.”
With those words, Seneca fainted.
Seneca woke up.
She felt herself being carried on someone’s shoulder.
The rough texture suggested it was a man.
She shifted slightly.
“Hm? You’re awake?”
A familiar voice.
Opening her eyes, she saw Maior’s face.
“Seneca! You’re awake!”
“Yeah, I’m awake. Let me put you down, okay?”
Seneca nodded softly.
With gentle movements, she was laid on the ground.
Slowly, she began to move and stood up. There was no pain, and it seemed her injuries were healed.
Looking around, she saw Maior and the four members of Oak Branch.
It appeared Naeus was the one carrying her.
Julia approached her.
“Seneca-chan, are you okay? I healed most of your injuries with magic, but you were in a terrible state…”
Naeus and Julia both looked deeply worried. Maior, standing a bit away, seemed on the verge of tears.
Seneca clenched her fists lightly and stomped her feet. Though tired, her body seemed fine.
“I think I’m okay.”
“That’s a relief,” Naeus said calmly.
After Seneca had fainted, Maior performed first aid on her.
Though the potion had healed her somewhat, it appeared her internal organs were damaged.
With a frantic expression, Maior discarded her quiver and bow, carrying Seneca on her back.
She was found by Menon while running towards the city, tears streaming down her face.
Upon hearing the situation, the members of Oak Branch immediately sprang into action.
Julia treated Seneca and Maior, while Naeus and Menon checked the site and gathered supplies. Akars acted as their guard.
Thanks to them, they managed to recover Maior’s bow and arrows, as well as the fangs and tails of the Rampage Apes for proof of their hunt.
Julia’s healing magic saved Seneca’s life, though her prolonged unconsciousness worried everyone.
Seneca expressed her heartfelt gratitude.
After waking up, Julia insisted on further precautions, prompting Seneca to let Naeus carry her again. As she was carried, her condition gradually improved, and she asked to be set down.
Slowly, she approached Maior and gently hugged her.
“We made it back alive. Thank you, Maior.”
Seeing the two embrace, Naeus unexpectedly shed tears.
As they approached the outskirts of the Baet Forest, Seneca began looking around.
She spotted a small unicorn rabbit and swiftly beheaded it.
The group was accustomed to Seneca’s unpredictable actions, but her sudden move still caught them by surprise.
“Seneca, what are you doing?”
Maior asked.
“I felt like if I didn’t take it down here, I might be too scared to enter the forest again.”
Seeing Maior’s puzzled expression, Julia explained.
“After a near-death experience, once the tension fades, fear can strike. Some adventurers are so affected they can never face monsters again.”
Naeus added, “If you keep saying, ‘I’ll do it when I feel better,’ you might never enter monster territory again. In such cases, it’s better to face a monster sooner rather than later, even if it’s a bit forced. Seneca must have sensed that instinctively. Maior, why don’t you try it too?”
Prompted by this, Maior looked around. With Menon’s skill, she located a giant frog and sliced it in half.
Thanks to Oak Branch, Maior and Seneca finally returned to Baetica. After a brief report at the guild, they returned to their dormitory.
Although they had much to talk about, both were at their physical limits and decided to rest, leaving the conversation for another time.
Maior didn’t wake up for two days.
While Seneca had been the one severely injured, she was up and active the next day.
She went to the guild to give a detailed report, where Trulia expressed great concern. She also informed Julia about her condition and attempted to pay for the treatment, but was refused. Afterward, she visited Kito to thank her for the potion, among other things.
As she went about her activities, Maior finally woke up. Seneca, who had noticed Maior occasionally stirring, had anticipated this.
“Good morning, Maior!”
Seneca greeted brightly as Maior, still groggy, looked around, trying to grasp the situation.
“We returned to Baetica, came back to our room, and you’ve been asleep for two days! How are you feeling?”
Maior’s eyes widened as she processed the information.
“Two days?”
She whispered in disbelief.
As Seneca was about to reply, Maior suddenly stood up.
“Seneca, I’ve reached Level 2…”
However, standing so abruptly made her dizzy, and she stumbled back onto the bed.
With a radiant smile, Seneca said, “I knew it… Congratulations, Maior!”
Still emotionally unstable from just waking up, Maior started crying upon hearing Seneca’s words.
“I thought I was going to die. Facing an unwinnable fight, my mind went blank. I felt powerless. But when I recklessly pushed forward out of sheer stubbornness, suddenly the path cleared. If this was going to be my end, I couldn’t afford any regrets. I fought, and before I knew it, the Rampage Ape was down, and my level had risen.”
Seneca listened intently and then embraced Maior.
The usually composed Maior cried in Seneca’s arms, finding comfort in her support.
After a few days of rest, Maior and Seneca returned to the Baet Forest. Their goal was to assess the effects of Maior’s level-up, so they didn’t take on any requests.
On the way there, Maior noticed a significant improvement in her physical abilities. She felt lighter and more agile, even more so than Seneca. Her strength seemed to have increased, as indicated by the feel of her shield and sword.
Activating the 【Detection】 skill revealed that its range and accuracy had greatly improved. Additionally, she could now detect people, gaining information previously imperceptible through magic alone.
When she activated 【Subjective View】 , information that used to appear from a bird’s-eye view now integrated into her normal vision, making it easier to see at close range, which would be quite useful.
Finally, she activated 【Trajectory】 , asking Seneca to move around. From a bird’s-eye view, Seneca’s path left a dotted line behind, which Maior thought might be useful for archery. Combining this with 【Subjective View】 , the dotted line appeared in Maior’s vision.
She narrowed the skill’s range and infused it with magic. Her vision began to show Seneca’s afterimages, allowing her to track the trajectory of her sword swings and arm movements in detail.
Reflecting on the time she had instinctively used this skill to save her life, Maior realized she might have already been on the brink of reaching Level 2 then.
Testing further, Maior noticed an increase in her mental processing speed. Despite the increased flow of information, she didn’t feel overwhelmed. This, she believed, was another benefit of leveling up, enhancing her physical and cognitive abilities.
She sparred lightly with Seneca using swords. While she couldn’t match Seneca’s skill, her newfound strength gave her an edge. Maior felt the power and weight of her level-up, realizing the importance of staying grounded and not letting it go to her head.
She resolved to remain disciplined, knowing that neglecting the basics could lead to her downfall.
Seneca, filled with curiosity, watched Maior closely throughout the day, fascinated by everything she did.
