I Will Be Unrivaled With The Skill [Sewing]! They Said It Was A Bad Skill, But With Effort, I will Make It A Hit~ - Chapter 39
Chapter 39: The Meteor Adventurer
The next day marked the start of classes.
Seneca woke up early, practicing her sword swings with excitement.
Meeting Gaia and Plautia yesterday was fun.
Both of them possessed unique skills and were highly intelligent.
They had lived in a world completely different from Seneca’s.
Who would she meet today?
Would there be strong friends among them?
Before she knew it, her swings had become more intense.
When she returned to her room, Gaia was already awake.
“Good morning, Seneca. You’re holding a weapon… are you training again?”
Gaia looked at her as if she had seen something unbelievable.
“That’s right. But I took it easy today since it’s the first day.”
Looking at Seneca, Gaia could see her hair damp with sweat.
“I don’t see how that was ‘taking it easy,’ but it’s still early. Why don’t you freshen up? I heard this dorm has a shower room.”
“Really? I’ll go right now!”
As Seneca grabbed a towel and a change of clothes and left the room, someone else stepped out from the neighboring room. It was Maior.
“Good morning! Maior, are you heading to wash up too?”
“Good morning! You just finished your morning training, didn’t you? Let’s go together.”
Maior, drenched in sweat, flashed a bright smile at Seneca.
“I was practicing my sword swings in the grove beside the dorm, but where were you, Maior?”
“I was in the open plaza on the opposite side. There were a few people there. Were there any on your side?”
“No, I was alone.”
“Maybe I’ll try that side tomorrow.”
Chatting as they walked, the two of them headed for the showers.
The Royal Adventurers’ Academy boasted an enormous campus.
At the center stood large school buildings where most students spent their time. However, there was an exception—
The S-Class students.
The S-Class had its own exclusive building, located on the edge of the academy.
Since it was on the exact opposite side of the girls’ dormitory, Seneca and Maior decided to run there.
Dressed in their school-issued uniforms and carrying only their essential weapons, the two made their way across campus.
Many students moved gracefully through the grounds, none of them running like the two of them were.
People might think they were country bumpkins—but since they actually were, Maior didn’t mind.
Seneca, used to drawing attention, seemed unfazed. Instead, her eyes sparkled as she eagerly observed her surroundings.
“Seneca, look! That’s our building.”
Seneca followed Maior’s gaze and saw an old, stone-built structure.
“That’s our school building?”
“Yeah. Apparently, when this school first started, that was the only building. To preserve the original spirit of discipline, only top-performing students are assigned there.”
It seemed that no one else was around.
Maior took a deep breath and stepped inside.
Upon arriving at the first-year classroom, they found several students already present.
“You two must be S-Class students as well?”
A young man who had been speaking at the center of the room approached them.
He had long, golden hair cascading down his shoulders—a rather flamboyant look.
However, there was not the slightest hint of weakness in his presence. His stance was impeccable, exuding an air of unwavering confidence.
Seneca and Maior slowly nodded.
“I see! I’m Pulcher Cluris, a Bronze-ranked adventurer! Nice to meet you!”
Pulcher extended his hand, and Maior shook it.
“I’m Maior, also a Bronze-ranked adventurer.”
“Oh! So, you’re Maior! It’s an honor to meet another scholarship student. That means this lady here must be…”
As their eyes met, Seneca spoke.
“Seneca. Nice to meet you.”
Her words were slightly stiff due to her shyness, but Pulcher didn’t seem to mind at all.
“I knew it! Two scholarship students from the Baetica branch—that’s amazing. Are you two a party?”
“That’s right. We’ve been adventuring together.”
“I see. You must have been quite popular. Two beautiful and skilled ladies like you!”
Maior decided to nickname Pulcher “Prince Charming” in her mind—half as a joke, given how overly familiar he was.
Seneca, on the other hand, thought of every man except Lucius as nothing more than potatoes, so she felt nothing at all.
“Hey, Pulcher! Introduce me too!”
A boy with perfectly styled brown hair approached.
“I’m Stolo Aedis, a Bronze-ranked adventurer. Call me Stolo!”
He was brimming with energy.
Pulcher introduced several more classmates, but Seneca realized she wouldn’t remember all their names, so she simply stopped paying attention. Bold move.
Maior, meanwhile, joined in on the conversations.
As Seneca looked around the classroom, she noticed a girl sitting by the window, quietly gazing outside.
She felt like their wavelengths matched, so she decided to approach her.
“I’m Seneca. Nice to meet you.”
The girl turned her round, gentle eyes toward Seneca and slowly replied.
“I’m Nina. I’m from Trias. Nice to meet you.”
Seneca grinned, thrilled by the encounter.
As class time approached, everyone took their seats where they pleased.
Seneca sat toward the back, with Nina to her left and Maior to her right.
Pulcher and Stolo, sitting at the very front, were chatting about who their homeroom teacher might be.
It was said that S-Class homeroom teachers were usually famous adventurers.
Maior had been grinning for a while, but Seneca didn’t know why. She figured something fun must have happened and let it go.
Soon, footsteps echoed through the hallway.
For a normal person, the sound was quiet—but for an adventurer, it was loud. Maybe it was deliberate.
The classroom fell silent, and all eyes turned toward the door.
A tall, lean man, radiating the presence of a battle-hardened veteran, stepped in.
“Ahhh!!!”
Seneca suddenly shot up from her seat and shouted.
Maior, unable to hold it in any longer, burst out laughing.
The man glanced around the classroom and then spoke.
“I’m Attalos Pergamon. I’ll be your homeroom teacher.”
Seneca froze, pointing at him.
Then, Pulcher and Stolo jumped to their feet, shouting in unison.
“Attalos the ‘Meteor’! The hero of the last war, the legendary Gold-ranked adventurer, is our teacher?!”
“He’s the greatest master of Magic Swordsmanship! This is unreal!”
As the classroom erupted in murmurs, Attalos gave a wry smile and motioned for silence.
“This year’s S-Class has five scholarship students. That’s an unusually high number. It’s great to see so much talent, but it also means expectations will be high.
As your teacher, I’ll do my best—but adventurers are responsible for themselves. You all have talent, so use this environment to reach even greater heights.
Some of you were personally evaluated by me. Back then, I never imagined I’d end up as your teacher. But I was chosen because I was deemed the best fit to guide you.
Honestly, I don’t think I’m suited for the role—but as your senior, I’ll train you well. I look forward to working with you.”
Attalos scanned the twelve students in the room.
“Vice Homeroom Teacher Mitoa will explain the details later, but S-Class meets at this time every week for my lessons.
The curriculum is up to me. There will be lectures sometimes, but primarily, I’ll focus on practical training.
This class naturally attracts hot-blooded individuals. Since it’s the first day, we’ll start with some mock battles.
There’s a suitable spot behind the school building. Let’s move.”
With that, everyone stood up and headed out.
