I Will Be Unrivaled With The Skill [Sewing]! They Said It Was A Bad Skill, But With Effort, I will Make It A Hit~ - Chapter 83
Episode 83: “Uuu…”
On a day off, five students gathered at the training grounds of the Royal Adventurer Academy.
One of them was Seneca. At first glance, her face seemed expressionless, but those who knew her well could tell she was frustrated.
Another was Maior, standing near the wall of the training ground.
Beside her stood Secunda, a second-year student, both of them watching Seneca closely.
In Seneca’s line of sight was Menenia, a first-year from the S-Class. Just in case, Maior had called her here.
Menenia was currently using magic to heal a large-built male student. Despite receiving treatment, the man had a rare smile on his face.
“So the rumors were true,” Secunda remarked, speaking to Maior.
“Rumors?”
“Yes. I never imagined Seneca was this strong.”
“Well, that’s understandable,” Maior replied with a wry smile.
“We have a contract to keep this event secret, but just witnessing it was worthwhile.”
“We had our own conditions as well.”
“Still, I never would have thought that he—that Keith—would lose so easily.”
Secunda narrowed her eyes, gazing at Keith, who was still receiving treatment. To Maior, there seemed to be a hint of affection in her expression.
This fight had come about at Keith’s request. After his match against Maior, his interest in Seneca had grown, leading him to ask Secunda to arrange a bout.
The request was for a full-force mock battle. Keith didn’t care about rankings like “strongest in the school”—he only sought worthy opponents to sharpen his skills.
He knew that outside the academy, there were countless warriors stronger than himself, but among his peers, there were none. He had many abilities he still needed to refine, but as a close-combat fighter, he had hit a wall.
Then, he encountered Maior.
Maior’s strength was different—an unfamiliar power that Keith had never trained against. He saw potential in it.
Pulcher and Fabius’s fights had also intrigued him. Even though he had faced an exhausted Pulcher in the tournament finals, he found the match quite interesting.
That was when he decided—he wanted to fight Seneca, said to be the strongest among the first-years. His conviction that she was at the center of the first-year revolution led to his challenge.
When Keith asked Secunda to mediate, she immediately took the proposal to Seneca.
Seneca, in turn, involved Maior and set one condition—the mock battle had to be fought without skills.
To ensure secrecy, the four of them arranged to rent out the training grounds on a holiday. Since injuries could expose the event, Maior decided to bring in Menenia, who was skilled in healing magic.
Thus, the five of them gathered.
The first match, fought without skills, began.
Keith overwhelmed Seneca’s sword with his dulled poleaxe.
Seneca couldn’t put up a fight. No matter what she tried, he countered her precisely. She had no idea how to approach him. The gap in raw skill and ability was undeniable. She was witnessing firsthand the results of a warrior’s relentless training.
Next came the full-power battle with skills allowed.
This time, Keith lost without being able to do anything.
It had been a long time since he’d faced an opponent where he saw no path to victory.
A deep joy welled up in Keith’s heart.
I can still become stronger.
There is still so much room to improve.
His warrior’s spirit soared.
On the other hand, Seneca, despite winning the all-out fight, was bitterly disappointed.
She hadn’t expected such a massive gap when fighting without skills.
One troubling thought occupied her mind—if the difference between her and Keith was this great, how much further had Lucius left her behind?
Thus, the strange outcome—where the victorious Seneca wore a grim expression, while the defeated Keith looked elated.
“Uuu…”
Seneca had been groaning repeatedly for a while now.
Maior figured that Seneca must have been deeply frustrated. But she would calm down soon enough—after all, she was about to meet her best friend.
“Sene-chan! Maior!”
A cheerful voice called out.
It was Kito, slightly out of breath from hurrying over. Her face was flushed, giving her a charming glow.
The three of them entered a café, with Maior keeping Seneca company as she sulked. As usual, they then moved to Kito’s private room at the magic academy for an emergency meeting.
The topic was already decided.
It was about Maior’s level-up.
Many things happened during the latter half of the year, but the fundamentals remained the same.
Seneca, Maior, Gaia, and Plautia all dedicated themselves to training, honing their skills as adventurers.
The mock battles against Attalos became even more intense, and Maior had a single encounter with Gradius.
Plautia deepened her bond with Kito, leading to the development of several new techniques.
Gaia explored new possibilities by improving her coordination with Maior.
And so, as the long year came to an end, Seneca and the others began preparing to advance to their second year.
