It's a Gender-Reversed World, But I Don't Go Out Anyway - Chapter 13
Chapter 13: The Outdoor Broadcast Challenge
* * *
[Let’s do a “Pick the President out of 7 Billion” game]
[Oh, that’s good]
[Perfect for trolling on stream]
“Not good. Something else.”
Absolutely not.
It seemed like a UMS map that would only cause controversy and negative effects, regardless of how it was played.
[How about a male butler stripping game?]
[I have lots of stripping maps]
[Is there one for stripping Daeju?]
[Want to try a lullaby UMS map? It’s nothing special, just plays lullabies]
“Come on, don’t you have any normal UMS maps? This is giving me a headache…”
[Just got here, did this guy give up on Mili?]
[ã…”][1]
[ã…”]
[Pretty hardworking for Daeju]
“I’ll just block some Zerglings and end the stream”
***
[Don’t get why this guy is so popular (thumbs up)]
That bastard Daeju
Been grinding my teeth watching his StarCraft streams so much, I’m looking into dentures.
[Comments]
– Is 400-500 average viewers considered popular?
ã„´ You looking down on 500 viewers?
ã„´ Considering how stagnant viewership is these days, it’s pretty high
ã„´ But isn’t it just riding on Yeonhoo’s popularity?
ã„´ He had that but switched away from her lol
– Pretty top-tier form for someone who hasn’t streamed much?
– Didn’t get this kind of hate when streaming LoL, but teeth-grinding starts as soon as he plays one StarCraft game. Maybe StarCraft is a disease game…
– But watching someone bad at StarCraft just makes my blood boil from deep inside my chest
ã„´ You even have a chest to feel that heat?
ã„´ I swear I’m dying
– Starting to get hate here? = Streaming is going well.

Went to sleep right after ending yesterday’s stream.
Actually, I couldn’t sleep much and woke up because it was too hot.
“Hot…”
My one-room apartment was like a steamer, heated up by my own body heat. The good news was that the item I ordered yesterday through rocket delivery[2] would arrive soon.
Once that arrives, I could say goodbye to this sweltering summer.
The greatest invention that turned out to be way more expensive than I thought, and slightly worrying about the electricity bill – an air conditioner was on its way. Right when the doorbell rang and I went outside, there was a rather massive box.
“Pretty big…”
It was an item too large to match my one-room apartment.
Installation? That was something I had to do myself. This wasn’t just any air conditioner, but what they call a window-type air conditioner. I chose this because talking to the landlady about installing an air conditioner in a monthly-rent apartment would be troublesome, and I’d heard scary stories about regular air conditioners where the installation costs more than the unit itself.
The installation method was simple.
Install the mounting bracket and screen on the window and place the air conditioner on top. Just secure it with an electric drill and boom – halfway done. All that remained was securing space for the water drainage hose.
Given my one-room’s layout, installing it on the window where the washing machine was would make the hose connection no problem.
Everything was going according to plan, but-
“What kind of studio apartment dweller would have a drill?”
Am I an idiot?
I memorized all the installation steps but forgot to buy an electric drill. Plus, there was no hose. Shouldn’t these things come included?
You get what you pay for – this is what happens when you buy at the lowest price.
“Should I order it…”
Even if I ordered now, it wouldn’t arrive until tomorrow morning at the earliest. But could I pass up the chance to finally sleep well through the tropical night with a cool air conditioner right in front of me?
This was absolutely unacceptable, even if the sky were to fall.
“…Let’s go out!”
This was an unavoidable outing.
I couldn’t just wait forever with the air conditioner right in front of me. That’s not how you treat an air conditioner, humanity’s greatest invention.
Where should I go?
Maybe just head to a large mart? A normal person might go out and check, but I planned to thoroughly research before heading out. Doing work twice is the worst.
“Should I ask…”
I happened to know a good community to ask.
I searched for and entered [Daeju Tgether].
Tgether[3] was a kind of community where streamers and viewers could communicate. I made it this time around. It was created about a day after applying. Even though I hadn’t told viewers I made it after creating it, it was both touching and slightly creepy that viewers had found it first and were using the board.
Entering Tgether, many viewers were actively posting today as well.
I was reading through the highly upvoted posts when.
“Upvote if you think Daeju won’t stream today?”
Clicking on this outrageous title, most responses were in agreement.
The notable comments were the temperature difference between my real fan saying [He should rest at least two days a week] and the crazy toxic fan saying [Want to lock up that bitch Daeju and do slave play six days with one day of streaming lol].
Personally, whether I’d stream would probably depend on the air conditioner installation time, but I didn’t leave a comment. Why? Because I didn’t want to comment where that toxic fan had commented. I could clearly see her responding with [Stream you bastard!].
There were also many unique posts from StarCraft tutorials saying what beginners should do first after the StarCraft stream, to how to enjoy Daeju’s streams more.
[How to Enjoy Daeju’s Streams]
– Watch after taking a bite of Yeonhoo’s stream
– Watch while imagining Daeju has become a lewd male beast in your mind
[Comments]
– Daeju: This person’s completely crazy.
ã„´ OP: Oh lololololol Heaven lololol Daeju responding to my post… Is this sex?
ã„´ This is called a comment, not sex.
ã„´ Stream…
It’s scary to write comments. Ignoring the responding poster, looking through the active board sometimes had funny posts. There were enough that I could do a stream later just browsing this board if I had time while gaming.
Deciding to explore more thoroughly later, I focused on my question first.
I posted it as an announcement to draw as much attention as possible and hopefully get comments from people who actually know something, not just clueless viewers.
[Do they sell electric drills and hoses at H-mart?]
– Installing air conditioner but missing these two
Though it was a low-effort post, views quickly rose and comments started coming in.
[Comments]
– If you don’t start streaming soon, those won’t be the only things missing.
ã„´ You crazy bastard
– Bought an air conditioner? Now you can stream longer
– Air conditioner installation stream gogogo
ã„´ Oh nice.
– They sell drills but need photo of hose size
Thinking about it, the hose size would be important, so I took a photo of where the hose connects on the air conditioner with my phone.
Unexpectedly, the size was quite small – apparently there’s an evaporator motor or something inside so it doesn’t produce much water. The problem is it’s supposedly noisy because of that. But who cares when I’m about to die from heat? I’ll wear earplugs or earphones if I have to, as long as I can sleep cool.
I was satisfied since at least it wouldn’t cause noise complaints between floors.
After posting the photo, comments flooded in again.
[Comments]
– Oh lol Daeju finger photo this is rare.
– I’m turned on
– Your mouth is rough but your hands are surprisingly delicate, that gap moe[4] is real lol
– Ah this is that window AC maker. They sell 20mm hoses at H-mart that’ll work
– Daeju: 4 comments but 3 beasts and 1 viewer commented.
ã„´ Is this beast treatment roleplay? Give me a collar
ã„´ Get lost that’s my collar.
ã„´ Woof woof grrrr woof!
ã„´ One of them isn’t playing, they’re actually a beast?
Looking carefully, my thumb to middle finger was partially visible in the photo next to the air conditioner hose.
Reading useless comments made me feel my intelligence dropping, so I deliberately ignored them and started gathering my clothes.
Ironically, people who stay cooped up at home tend to worry less about going-out clothes. Three sets each for summer and winter was enough to last a year. Extreme? I admit it. But it’s all because games are too fun, the weather is too terrible, and I’m very shy by nature.
Only one of those three is my fault, so my responsibility is just 33%.
This time I chose a short-sleeve hoodie and shorts.
You might wonder about wearing a hoodie in this heat. First, it’s not that hot for a hoodie, and most importantly, I like it because it’s casual and comfortable. For reference, I wear hoodies when going out in fall, winter, and spring too.
This one is my fault.
As I was about to put on my shoes and head out, a thought occurred to me.
How many more times would I go out on my own?
I’m basically a shut-in, and there’s the terrifying news that this heat will continue for a month. The probability of leaving my room once I have air conditioning? Probably zero except for taking out trash?
Then what about outdoor broadcasts?
That means outdoor broadcasts would be at least a month away.
Would I still have this much buzz in a month? It would be lucky if people don’t get bored and run away.
Right now, giving the bait of an outdoor broadcast to viewers who are 90% weirdos who go crazy just seeing a finger would definitely get them excited. With donations and viewer count almost certainly increasing. It’s embarrassing, but it seemed worth trying for the sake of broadcasting.
I looked down at my phone.
The screen showed them still giggling among themselves just over my partially captured finger.
– The exposure is too much… bare hands, really
– Half of the thumb, index, and middle finger were captured, was this intentional? Saying he’ll finish in 3 seconds…
– Finger exposure… how profound…
– Instead of buying an air conditioner, do a strip stream and you’ll cool down.
ã„´ This is for real
“Should I try an outdoor broadcast?”
