It's a Gender-Reversed World, But I Don't Go Out Anyway - Chapter 20
Chapter 20: The Direction of YouTube
* * *
[Everyone and their dog is doing YouTube now lol]
Please show lots of love to Daeju
Subscribe please hehe
[Comments]
– Why subscribe to a game streamer who doesn’t play games
ã„´ It’s not like we watch Daeju for the games anyway
ã„´ Is that… so?
– Daeju’s fandom seems less active lately, is he failing?
ã„´ The Daeju fans moved their main base to TGD (Tgether)
ã„´ What? They betrayed our gallery (DCGallery)? Why did they move?
ã„´ Because Daeju occasionally reads and reacts to posts there
ã„´ Oh? That’s looking spicy…

“8,000 views for the first video… seems good, right?”
Though it didn’t seem high, thinking about it being just one day since uploading, it wasn’t bad considering it could grow more.
Someone even said it got picked up by the algorithm. Algorithm from the first video? It seemed odd, but I guess I should consider myself lucky.
I was shocked when I first saw the thumbnail, but since the results were good, it didn’t matter. Of course, there were some hate comments mixed in from people who came wondering what wrong I had done only to feel deceived, but surprisingly, my mental health wasn’t affected by this.
Because I had the excuse that I wasn’t the one who made this thumbnail, so it wasn’t my fault.
Seeing that 2,000 people subscribed despite having only 8,000 views, it seemed my viewers had come to subscribe.
“Strangely doing everything they should”
I prepared and turned on the stream. It felt awkward seeing myself efficiently preparing and starting without any particular nervousness, as I’d gotten somewhat used to streaming.
Finally feeling like a proper streamer.
[Welcome]
[Watched your YouTube well]
[Upload the next video]
[Editor get to work]
“Don’t pressure too much, there will be 4 uploads per week.”
That’s what we agreed on. I honestly thought about 3 or even 2 videos per week. Given the video style that not only adds subtitles to each clip but also enlarges chat windows, and occasionally finds and inserts photos and edits throughout the video, it seemed like it would need a lot of time.
But she said it wasn’t a big deal and offered to do 4 videos per week first.
[4 in 7 days, that’s kind of lewd]
[They’re really crazy]
[?? I don’t understand]
[Good to see at least one normal person here]
“Today… I haven’t thought about what to do at all.”
Though I turned on the stream, unlike usual, I had no particular plans today. I just turned it on because it was time.
[You didn’t prepare anything when this many viewers are watching?]
[Isn’t this like New Journey to the West?]
[This is dereliction of duty… master…]
[Tsk]
Speaking of many viewers, looking at it, there were definitely more than usual. Maybe people who watched the YouTube video came to watch the live stream too. It might really be the case. Still, I couldn’t say I had prepared content when I hadn’t, so I decided to just chat casually like usual.
[Are you going to play games today?]
Games were definitely the most time-efficient for broadcasts and nothing made time pass as well as that. But today I wasn’t really feeling it. Why? Because since starting YouTube, I’d been thinking about wanting to do broadcasts that could create what people commonly call “YouTube moments.”
Looking back at the video our editor edited, the game footage wasn’t really meaningful, and interactions with viewers made up the main content. That got us 2,000 subscribers. Which means broadcasts focusing on chat interactions rather than games might create better YouTube moments…
Games at this timing.
I hedged my words for now.
“I might… or might not, I’m not not wanting to play games”
[???]
[My head feels numb like I just ate shaved ice in one go]
[Anyone understand? Summary please]
[Summary: She’s not gonna play games you idiots, just subscribe to YouTube]
[Ah]
“Or should we discuss YouTube content ideas together today?”
[Need a summary for this too]
[Summary: Help me brainstorm how to make my YouTube succeed, you pigs]
[That summary’s spot on]
[Shouldn’t you think about this yourself?]
That’s true, but most of my channel subscribers are my stream viewers anyway, so wouldn’t it be somewhat successful if I just upload content my stream viewers like? I just want to grow my YouTube safely.
So that was my thought about directly brainstorming content with viewers.
“Any content ideas that are… fun and would get lots of algorithm attention?”
[If I knew that I’d use it myself]
[Guaranteed views = face reveal]
[Or We Got Married?][1]
[Could collab with famous YouTubers]
“Sigh, these are all impossible.”
[Then you suggest something]
When it comes to that, I have nothing to say.
[Then just react to video donations while earning money, it’s good for us and could make YouTube moments]
[For real lol but if you’re not careful you could get YouTube banned for copyright]
[Double-edged sword]
[Scared?]
“Video donations, huh?”
It seemed like we could interact, and parts that might have copyright issues could be edited appropriately for upload. Plus I could earn money too. The question was whether YouTube viewers would actually like this.
“Should we try it?”
[Let’s go]
[Give us a bit of a discount]
[Got tons of videos to show]

“Wait, I made it to the final four in an ideal type world cup?”
[How did a Durahan get there?]
[Why did they pick him? Are they Daeju fans?]
[A company streamer with 3000 viewers is actually a Daeju fan? That sounds like a novel title]
An unfamiliar female streamer was contemplating between my photo and a handsome man’s photo. The video was of an ideal type world cup where you compare potential ideal types 1v1 to pick which one is closest to your ideal type.
And in the video, a streamer named Jia had advanced me to the final four, which came as a video donation.
I could understand if it was Yeonhee who had streamed with me before, but why this person?
[“I like easygoing guys and watching Daeju’s clips, he seemed really easygoing?”]
“Huh? Who’s been spreading my clips in her room?”
[Eh]
[Not just her room, Daeju fans were spreading them in almost every room]
[They’re like cultists]
“Then wouldn’t I be seen as really unlikeable?”
Viewers’ mistakes are as good as my mistakes.
Though viewers might have promoted me with good intentions, if it’s too much…
[Don’t worry, you were never likeable]
[For real lol we promoted you thinking we couldn’t suffer alone]
[Other rooms say Daeju fans are unlikeable, but Daeju is likeable]
Watching the video, I even made it to the finals. Without a photo.
“Wait, I won? Against that handsome person?”
[How did he win;;]
[How much did you pay her?]
[How underhanded of you Daeju, buying victory!]
Though I felt good, I was bewildered. Next came time for video donations of men dancing sexy dances.
“Oh please”
[Wow…hot…]
[When will our Daeju take off his cam and dance like that]
[For real, sexy dance is worth 100,000 won donation right away]
Never mind the money, I really wish they wouldn’t send videos like this. I watched until about the third one thinking about the sender’s money and effort, but I felt my mental health stat dropping continuously.
“From now on I’m skipping all videos like this.”
[But why!]
[We have the right to watch too!]
[Daeju’s possessiveness acting up again, wanting to watch men alone]
[Let’s try to understand.]
Looking at the video donation records, I deleted everything that seemed to be men dancing videos. Then I noticed familiar names frequently.
“Lots of donations from Yeonhee too”
It looked like an ordinary video but as soon as I played it, I was surprised to hear her talking about me.
[“Daeju is Gold 2? No way… I’m Gold 3 though…”]
“Huh?”
There’s one thing I absolutely can’t stand more than men trash talking.
‘You’re bad at games.’ That comment just now was similar to that. Though she didn’t say it directly, I caught it from her blank expression of disbelief and somewhat sharp tone.
And if I caught it, there’s no way viewers wouldn’t catch it.
[LOLOLOLOLOL]
[Wow… to be looked down on by Yeonhee…]
[But that girl gives advice even watching Worlds…]
[Yeonhee gives advice to pros, she gave advice to Daeju. Daeju is pro]
“Thanks to video donations, I’m encountering various events I wish I didn’t know about.”
I sighed, ruminating on facts I wish I hadn’t known.
The only small consolation was the steady income from video donations. Even that was offset by thoughts of men’s wiggling hip dances and Yeonhee’s pride-hurting expression and tone.
“This is the last video donation, we’ll watch this, play some games, then end stream.”
For games, I decided to just play one match each of LoL and StarCraft.
Sometimes I need to give them games to appease these rough viewers.
“Huh?”
The last video was concerning.
Titled [Daeju’s Sexy Highlights], it had a whopping 120,000 views. My channel’s video had 8,000… now 9,000 views, but anyway, it was infuriating that it had more views than the original protagonist’s video.
Plus it seemed to have been up for over two days.
“What’s in it that it has views like this?”
Looking at it, it wasn’t much.
It was just clips cobbled together of sounds of me eating ice cream, my first IRL stream moment, and occasions where I spoke a bit harshly to viewers. It wasn’t even properly edited.
“Why does this have such high views?”
[Because you’re doing sex appeal]
[For real lol can’t believe you don’t know]
[Sucking sounds, a man acting shy outdoors, domination]
[Just looking at the keywords makes me snort lol]
The chat was expressing nonsensical madness.
I thought no one would think like that, but—120,000 views. The people included in these views really watched this video for those reasons.
“Should I… take my YouTube in this direction?”
I fell into contemplation.
