It's a Gender-Reversed World, But I Don't Go Out Anyway - Chapter 35
Chapter 35: Package
***
“I actually have something to do while waiting for the Kimpitang.”
[What is it? Collecting money from viewers?]
[Lewd stream?]
[Gaming?]
[Another ad?]
“All of your guesses are wrong.”
I didn’t expect the right answer to appear in the chat either. That’s because even I hadn’t predicted this situation.
“Actually, two boxes of packages arrived at my address this morning?”
To be precise, one came yesterday evening and one this morning, but for some reason, they were just left there without ringing the doorbell.
When I checked, the delivery instructions said ‘Please don’t ring the doorbell,’ and the packages were from someone I didn’t know. At first, I thought they might have been delivered to the wrong address, but there was small writing on the side of the package saying ‘I’m a fan of Daeju-nim.’
The surprising thing was that although the two packages came from different people, they had the same delivery instructions, and both had small writing on the side saying they were my fans.
But one was written in round, cute handwriting, while the other was in red with terrible handwriting that looked like a curse.
“I think these packages are from fans.”
[Don’t you keep your address private though?]
[For real lololol what’s going on]
That’s what I’m saying.
That part was a bit creepy. The fact that two different people knew my address and sent packages was chilling, but honestly, I had a few suspects in mind.
I figured I could think about it after checking the contents. If the contents were curse dolls or something disgusting, I’d report it right away, but if they were decent, I was willing to accept the packages gladly.
“Anyway, let me open the packages”
[This guy doesn’t even have a webcam;]
[Let’s just buy a cam and show your face already.]
[Do you know what might be in the package? What if it’s used tissues?]
[Used tissues from what?]
[Too embarrassed to say hehe…]
“I’ll stream with my phone”
Of course, I had already prepared to stream with my phone for this. But regarding the suggestions to buy a camera, I had been thinking about it recently.
Rather than showing my face, I thought I might need a camera for unboxing like this or occasional mukbang streams, and I didn’t feel particularly uncomfortable when only my hands were shown during the last collab stream.
I decided to continue that thought later and ended the stream briefly before quickly starting up the prepared phone stream.
“Can everyone see well?”
[Yeah we can see]
[It’s shaking a lot, Daeju, are you je*king off?]
[No going back now]
I was trying to attach the phone to the prepared tripod-like thing, but it wasn’t working well, so I must have shaken the screen a lot while struggling.
After securing it completely, I adjusted the angle while getting feedback from viewers.
“Is this angle okay?”
[Yeah that’s perfect]
[But slightly up]
[No too high, down]
[Up down up up down]
ã„´ [You have been forcibly removed.]
[I really don’t understand the ban criteria in this stream lolol]
After getting the angle somewhat perfect, I brought the package in front of the phone camera. Given its relatively large size, it was quite heavy.
What could be inside?
Honestly, as someone living alone, I thought anything would be helpful, and truthfully, I was getting excited.
Even in this world, I’ve never received gifts like this from women. And this was also the strongest realization of my popularity as a streamer.
Of course, I occasionally felt those emotions when strangers would greet me saying they were my fans, but gifts were different.
“I don’t have a box cutter so… with this delivery knife…”
[??? Why do you have that.]
[Just keep a box cutter at home you crazy bastard…]
[For real how much could it cost lolol]
[No the tape cuts well! Better than a box cutter!]
[It’s not cutting at all though?]
[Are you torturing the tape? lol]
Honestly, I didn’t buy a box cutter because I was lazy.
Well, I would have bought one if I needed it, but I had this delivery knife (?) thing that accumulated from ordering delivery food often, meant for cutting vacuum packaging.
But now that I think about it, having one would be nice. This delivery knife could tear… rather than cleanly cut single layers of tape, but it was definitely struggling with double-layered tape like this. Still, if you keep working at it with the knife, the tape eventually becomes ragged and tears off.
When I opened the package, there were several boxes inside with some familiar wrapping paper, and one letter.
I read the letter first to check if there was any personal information or anything written in it.
[Why are you reading it alone~]
[Is it a love letter?]
[Could be a threat letter]
[Who sends a threat letter on pink stationery lolol]
“Ah, I can show you this.”
There wasn’t anything special in it.
They said they enjoyed watching my streams, and although they thought it might make me uncomfortable, they wanted to make a real-life donation. Looking back now, they really thought hard about how creepy it might feel to receive a package from a stranger at home, but they wanted to send it even if they might get reported.
That was roughly the content.
They succeeded in recognizing their own wrongdoing but sent it anyway.
“I’ll decide whether to report based on the contents.”
[Basically saying he’ll report if there’s no cash]
[The box is this big, there must be something good lol]
“First are some snacks.”
[Corn chips, Choco Pie, and Saeukkang[1]… classic]
[Yeah those are pretty universally liked]
[Actually, Saeukkang originally came from Japan…]
[Everyone knows frozen Choco Pie is the way lol]
They weren’t particularly special snacks.
Still, I could feel the thoughtfulness in sending snacks that anyone would eat, probably worried about whether I might dislike something.
When I set aside the snacks, there was a large box underneath.
“Oh!”
[Is it a keyboard?]
[That must be pretty expensive]
[How much?]
[Probably between 100 won and 2 million won?]
[You bi*ch]
Written in tiny letters on the side of the keyboard box was ‘To improve Daeju-nim’s gaming skills’
I’m actually satisfied with my gaming skills… but I was still grateful for the keyboard gift.
When I took it out and tried pressing the keys, both the touch and feel suited my taste.
The sound wasn’t too loud, and the feeling wasn’t too light or too heavy, but just right. It was a perfect gift as I had been thinking about changing my computer and peripherals.
“Thank you so much. I’ll show you great things with this keyboard”
[Nothing changes just because you change keyboards…]
[lolol right~ changing the pilot won’t help~]
[Who cares if you’re bad at games, you’re good at other things]
[Like what?]
[Like… what was it… um…. sorry can’t make anything up]
“But what if I get pro gamer offers after changing the keyboard? I want to focus on streaming though~”
[????]
[Stop bullshitting]
[Wanna fight?]
[Not streaming games lately but seems to have forgotten his skill level lol]
These viewers were always good at taking the bait.
The rest of the box’s contents were like seeing a collection of essential items for someone living alone. Things like shampoo, tissue paper, towels – stuff I already had but wouldn’t hurt to have more of.
This was definitely a helpful package list for me.
I wouldn’t need to report this.
Then my phone rang.
Checking the notification, it showed that the Kimpitang I ordered had already been delivered.
“Everyone, I’ll go get the food.”
[Looks like that hybrid dish called Kimpitang is here]
[Sounds weird but actually tastes good when you eat it]
[Just like Daeju]
[???]
[Like how Daeju sounds weird but might taste good when you eat him lol]
[???]
After bringing the food, I decided to use the box as a table for now.
Since the phone was already fixed at a good angle, the food was being captured well too.
The viewers were happy saying this was the first time they could see the food during my mukbang.
They were so happy it made me feel guilty. Come to think of it, seeing the food during a mukbang is normal, and these people who’ve stuck with my abnormal broadcasts might not actually be toxic after all?
[The meat in the sweet and sour pork looks so erotic lol]
[For real lol look at it seducing us while steaming lol]
[The cheese is already all melted and gooey lol]
[You crazy bastards]
Just when I was starting to feel affection, I became cold again.
“Let me try it”
The visuals weren’t bad.
Honestly, the image in my head was quite grotesque with sweet and sour pork stuck between kimchi, but when I first opened it, it looked kind of like a pizza covered in cheese, and the kimchi was somehow transformed into something like a sauce, so it looked better than expected.
But fried food with cheese.
It seems like it would be really heavy – wonder how much the kimchi would help with that.
“Hmm…”
[How is it?]
[Oh this must be good lol]
“Um… it’s not great?”
[????????]
[Yellowy…?]
[Who are you? Our Daeju isn’t the type to say food isn’t good!]
[Did your taste buds come to their senses after eating that burnt food in the last collab?]
It’s not that it tasted bad.
But considering the price of this food, and personally, I dislike soggy sweet and sour pork and cheese.
Actually, the two things I can’t eat are spicy food and greasy food. In that sense, this was quite challenging for me.
The reason I like Sol’s Eye and mint chocolate is because I like the refreshing taste that has no greasiness at all, but this was too greasy.
“Isn’t this too greasy? Ah… should I drink the Sol’s Eye I have?”
[Is this bastard deliberately trying to piss us off?]
[Dislikes Kimpitang for being greasy, but likes Sol’s Eye for being refreshing… interesting]
[And you’re going to eat Sol’s Eye with Kimpitang?]
[Really makes me want to commit domestic violence]
In the end, I only ate the Kimpitang with Sol’s Eye until I finished the 250ml can of Sol’s Eye.
I would probably eat it all later just because it would be a waste, but at least not today.
For the last part of the stream, I opened the remaining box, but this one was somehow suspicious.
It was full of nutritional supplements.
“What is this?”
[Could it be drugs?]
[Incheon drug lord born;;;][2]
[This medicine might have side effects so take it through your nose?]
[lolol why would someone send a whole box of medicine lol]
Moreover, the writing around the supplement bottles was in English so I couldn’t even attempt to check the ingredients, so I posted about it on the forum.
[Whoever sent this please explain]

T/N:
1. “Saeukkang” (새우깡) – A popular Korean snack made by Nongshim, similar to shrimp-flavored crackers.
2. The reference to “Incheon drug lord” is related to Incheon being known for drug-related incidents due to its port city status.
