It's a Gender-Reversed World, But I Don't Go Out Anyway - Chapter 41
Chapter 41: Two 6-star Characters!
* * *
[Why are you reacting like that? You should be happy about getting a 6-star!]
[Wow~ So jealous of the 6-star.]
[Daeju-nim, that character is really popular for its risqué outfit, even if the performance is a bit lacking~^^]
[Hey Daejun-im, looks like this is going to be your dinner side dish[1] tonight?]
[?? What do you mean by side dish?]
[I envy your innocence…]
“No… wow… 6-star!… This is really amazing.”
Even though I tried to maintain my composure and give a proper reaction for the sponsored stream, my voice was still trembling.
To be honest, I had somewhat expected this. Among the 6-stars, the male swimsuit series currently had increased drop rates. I thought it might come from this rainbow box, but I didn’t expect it to make such a dramatic entrance with that kind of dialogue and flashy appearance.
Thanks to that, I ended up cursing during a sponsored stream.
I was feeling the truth of the saying “words once spoken cannot be taken back” deep in my bones.
And of course, this had to happen when I had a record-breaking viewer count of 2,000 people watching.
It was a combination of my regular viewers, this game’s players, and some newcomers who had heard rumors.
[You know, 6-star characters have different voice lines depending on where you touch them]
“…Where I touch them?”
I have to touch this guy?
For a moment, when I looked at the character, it felt like our eyes met and I got goosebumps, but what’s this about different voice lines for different touch points? They want me to touch this? This thing?
And what do they mean by “points” – exactly where am I supposed to touch?
Honestly, I didn’t want to touch anywhere except the face, but this was a sponsored stream after all. I gritted my teeth and tried touching.
First, the head.
(Strangely, the face wasn’t responding)
“…Okay”
This much I could handle.
I could handle it. At least my heart wasn’t doing somersaults. Anyway, I needed to touch the next point but…
[Try pressing the chest lololol]
[Look at how the mouse is wandering around lololol You know exactly where you need to touch]
[Just click once lololol]
[You know hesitating actually makes this more weird, right?]
Right, hesitating over something like this might actually make it seem more strange. I confidently touched the chest area and a voice played.
(Ah… why are you making me feel so shy…)
“Oh for…”
[Hey now! lololololol]
[lololololololololol]
[Makes you dizzy, doesn’t it?]
[To crumble at just this level of dialogue… you’re still 10 years too early, kid!]
The dialogue was one thing, but I couldn’t help cursing when a male character made sounds like moaning just from having his chest touched. The problem was the final touch point, and since the full body of the character was visible, there was a very high probability that the last touch point was going to be that spot.
I boldly gave up.
“Well! Let’s continue with the gacha.”
[???]
[Click the di*ck before you go!]
[Just once! Just once!]
[Try touching it! See if it kills you!]
“What’s that? Ah! Everyone wants to see more gacha pulls right away?”
[We’re saying touch the di*ck! We want to hear the voice line!]
[Who cares about gacha? Hurry up and touch every inch of the 6-star character’s body!]
[Baby Daeju-dan[1] wants you to touch that!]
[That’s pretty mature for a Baby Daeju-dan…]
I lightly ignored all the viewers’ pleas. And then I said one thing.
“Well, for those who are curious, the drop rates are really high right now. Try pulling for yourself!”
[Oh right, this was a sponsored stream]
[Since Daeju pulled it, maybe the rates really are good?]
[Maybe I’ll try once.]
[Oh~ That actually sounded like a proper advertisement~]
[Sponsor smiling]
Actually, I just really didn’t want to touch it, but that one line made it seem like I had delivered a sensible advertising message.
I started doing gacha pulls again. As expected, the first 6-star must have been just luck because they weren’t coming out at all now. Never mind 6-stars, why weren’t even 5-stars coming out? Were the rates really increased? Maybe the event hadn’t started yet?
Just as I was thinking that, in the last box, along with a flashy animation, rainbow boxes appeared. Not just one, but two of them.
And there was even a yellow 5-star box that came with them.
[What the hell]
[????]
[Two rainbow boxes? I’m reporting this]
[Marriage registration?[3]]
“No way, what is this?”
Could increased rates make this much of a difference?
Or was I using up my future luck? Maybe I’m overreacting about just two rainbow boxes, but considering how I spent so much money last time and only got one 5-star, this kind of reaction seems justified.
[Yeah~ It’s going to be two male swimsuit characters~]
[Isn’t that good?]
[It might be good for us, but probably not for this person]
[I hope you get male swimsuit characters that are both excellent in performance and appearance^^]
To build up anticipation, I quickly went through the lower rarity boxes and opened the yellow box along the way.
(Meow)
“That’s cute”
A large-looking cat appeared.
It seemed pretty ordinary for a 5-star character, but the round and chubby cat seemed to heal my tired body and mind, especially my mind which had taken severe damage today. If only all characters were like this, I would have been happy.
The rainbow boxes seemed to be screaming at me to open them.
In a male voice.
“Well… hah… let’s do this.”
[Even when a 6-star appears, Daeju can’t smile anymore…]
[This god-tier game is too early for Daeju.]
Without any need to hesitate, I clicked one immediately.
(Could you put some on for me?)
“No.”
[lololololololololol]
[Ah lol asking to put it on lolol]
[He’s really not going to put it on]
I immediately refused and opened the other rainbow box.
This time too, along with the flashy animation, a voice line played.
(I’m hot… hotter than summer)
“Ah…”
[Deep sigh]
[Only pulling male swimsuit characters;;;]
[At least these ones have good stats *shiver*;;]
[So hahahaha jealous lol yeah hahaha]
[Daejun-im this is a sponsored stream, hurry up and smile]
“Ah!.. That wow. Everyone, I got Yubin and Jackal in swimsuits! Amazing, amazing.”
[Could you put a little more soul into it?]
[This guy’s in a groggy state right now?]
[Daeju’s heated up… hotter than summer]
[lololololololololol]
Although I tried laughing and reacting belatedly, I was originally bad at acting, so the viewers started noticing and teasing me about my forced reactions.
After the gacha was over, I delivered the scripted lines for the advertisement and wrapped up.
The scripted lines weren’t anything special, just saying that this kind of event is going on, and the guild battle rewards are incredible so participate quickly. As far as sponsored streams go, this one wasn’t bad, and some viewers were even saying things like “if Daeju did this well, maybe I’ll try it too.”
After the sponsored stream ended, I-
“Games really have changed a lot”
[Are you talking behind the game’s back right after they sponsored you?]
“No, it’s not talking behind their back, it’s just… a game that used to be all about full plate armor suddenly came back full of men in swimsuits.”
Of all the games I’ve played, this was the first time I’d seen one make such a dramatic drift in less than a month. Usually when this happens, don’t players fail to adapt to the game’s changes and leave?
[That’s how they became popular]
[Otaku bait makes money you know]
[Want to wear a swimsuit yourself? Your stream would blow up]
[Fr lol if you learned anything from that game, you should buy a swimsuit and wear it]
[I’m good at getting the hint]
[What are we supposed to do with that;;]
“Right…”
At least my viewers didn’t seem to have any major complaints about this change.
Does that mean those outfits and voice lines aren’t a problem either…. Ah whatever, who cares.
“Before ending the stream, let’s check out the bulletin board. Counseling requests would be even better.”
***
[Daeju-nim, I have a worry.]
My boyfriend has been ignoring me recently
He used to laugh and accept whatever I did before, but these days he doesn’t even react to my loving suggestive jokes and just kicks me out ㅠㅠ sigh… what should I do?
[Comments]
– Are you possibly sharing my boyfriend?
ㄴ Fr my boyfriend does this too;;;
ㄴ Guess all men think alike ㅠㅠ
ㄴ Fr he doesn’t even play LoL anymore which he used to love ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
***
“That must be very upsetting. Try holding your breath for 20 minutes!”
[*inhales*]
[Oh? Master, this student is dead?]
[Problem solved!]
[Wow!]
Successfully completed the first counseling session.
I had somewhat expected it to become proper counseling, but I figured people with real concerns probably wouldn’t watch my stream.
Still, I checked the second concern.
***
[Daeju-ya]
I’m going to make a three line acrostic poem with “Dae-ju-ya”.
[Comments]
-Dae (대)
ㄴ Dae-ju-ya
-Ju (주)
ㄴ Ju-mal-e (On the weekend)
– Ya (야)
ㄴ Ya-seu ha-ja (Let’s yas)[4]
ㄴ (Too moved to continue speaking…)
ㄴ This is modern literature.
ㄴ I’m a science major but this poem made me stop hating liberal arts
***
“What is this.”
[This is poetry, this is literature]
[No need for counseling. People with real concerns don’t watch streams like this]
“What do you mean by ‘streams like this’?”
[Spicy streams?]
[Kind of like Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves type of stream][5]
[That kind of stream]
[You know what we mean!]
How my stream was being perceived by people.
Even hearing all this, I still couldn’t quite grasp it.
“Well… at least I’m not famous in a bad way, right?”
Setting aside the Daeju-dan’s opinion, I wondered what kind of image my stream had among regular people, but
[I… guess?]
[Yeah…]
[Well it’s not not not bad?][6]
[Hehe]

(End of Chapter)
T/N:
1. “side dish” (반찬) – fa*p material
2. “Daeju-dan” (대주단) – It is the original Korean word for the “Big Package Squad”. Here, it didn’t suit the sentence, so, I kept their original Korean name. I might just use “Daeju-Dan” from now on instead of “Big Package Squad”.
3. “신고” can mean both “report” and “registration”.
4. 야스” (yas) is a euphemistic way to talk about sexual activity, derived from “yaseu” (야스), which is itself a corruption of the English word “yes”. So, she’s basically saying “Daeju-ya let’s have se*x on the weekend”
5. The “Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves” reference is a common Korean internet euphemism for mature content streams. The number “40” (sa-ship) shares a sound with “adult” (sung-in) and thieves gather there to enjoy such contents.
6. The triple negative “not not not bad” (나쁘진 않지 않나) is a common Korean way of softening a potentially negative statement
