It's a Gender-Reversed World, But I Don't Go Out Anyway - Chapter 45
Chapter 45: Among Us?
* * *
I woke up in the morning, washed my face, and awkwardly spread lotion on my face.
As someone who had never taken care of their appearance despite wanting to, a certain post caught my eye.
It said that having good skin alone can make a man appear well-groomed.
Of course, it wasn’t particularly credible and was just someone’s opinion, but looking at the comments, quite a few people agreed.
To be honest, skin was the only thing I was confident about.
Being cooped up inside all the time gave me particularly fair skin, though I could say I’d been going out more frequently lately.
Anyway, that’s why I bought lotion to enhance my skin, my strong point.
I was too lazy to buy multiple products, so I just got an all-in-one lotion that supposedly had toner effects or whatever.
“This feels weird.”
Ignoring my somewhat sticky face, I checked my YouTube channel after a long time.
“Hmm… it’s doing well?”
Actually, my editor always sends me the edited videos before uploading them with a message saying “Here’s the video that will be uploaded,” but since she was doing such a good job, I just skimmed through and gave praise without watching in detail.
So seeing all those videos uploaded to my YouTube channel with view counts much higher than before really showed how much effort my editor was putting in. The average view count was around 50,000, which was quite high. Considering how long I’d been doing this, it was probably very high.
After confirming the steady growth, I left a post on the board.
Today I decided to try a game called Among Us that I happened to see during yesterday’s stream. Viewers who knew how I usually chose streaming content had started making requests on their own without me asking.
Among the Tgether posts, there were occasional “Please play Among Us” requests.
When I clicked on such posts, they included personal information like their Among Us playtime and even their Discord IDs. Though the Discord part wasn’t really necessary…
Thanks to people who freely shared their information like this, funny incidents sometimes occurred.

[Who’s the bastard making prank calls on Discord with pantie jokes?]
I got a call and stupidly thought it might be Daeju, so I picked up all excited, but it was some girl deliberately making her voice husky who just said “your dad’s underwear was blue” and hung up, that bi*ch.
I tried to get back at her but she blocked me, f**k f**k f**k.
I swear I’ll kill her if I catch her.
[Comments]
– You too? I got one too
ㄴ Me too 22222
ㄴ F**k, I even put my phone number in my personal info so I got Discord, texts, calls, and KakaoTalk messages. Can’t I sue for this?
ㄴ Isn’t it partly your fault for putting that much information?
– This is so f**king annoying lol I even pulled down my underwear thinking it was Daeju
ㄴ Please pull them back up
ㄴ Taking off your underwear just from one call is a bit much lol
ㄴ For real, at least listen to their voice first

They should really be more careful about posting personal information.
And the work decreased. I originally planned to write an announcement to recruit people, but now that they were volunteering like this, I decided to just pick suitable-looking people.
After picking a few times, I learned you need to have clear reasons for who you pick. Some viewers who weren’t chosen got upset and terrorized the board or the chosen people, causing chaos on the Tgether board for a while.
I was used to people acting up towards me by now, but I felt bad about viewers who took time to help getting harassed.
“Let’s pick this person first.”
People usually don’t complain if you pick the first person who applied. And I also picked the person who got pranked after posting her phone number earlier. People tend to be more lenient towards someone with such a funny episode.
Picking one by one, choosing people with good reasons, I managed to pick all 9 people needed for today.
Though the update allows up to 12 people, I didn’t want to forcefully increase the number when there weren’t more people I wanted to pick.
When I left comments asking about participation on the posts of the 9 people I decided to pick, they all replied within 5 minutes saying they definitely wanted to join.
Now I could start streaming with peace of mind.
When I start streaming now, 500 people gather immediately, and it soon approaches a thousand viewers.
Their first messages being “Speak up you bas*tard” and “You’re here but not talking, makes me wanna French kiss you lol” might be a bit excessive, but having so many people show up within 5 minutes of starting was a blessing for a streamer.
A thousand people.
Isn’t that like an entire school watching me?
Let me imagine all the students in a high school watching my stream in their classrooms.
I shouldn’t have imagined that.
“Hello everyone”
[Hi]
[You’re doing Among Us, right?]
[I heard you already picked viewers]
[For real, look how fast news spreads]
[Everyone please stop with the Tgether]
[It’s not easy, seriously]
Sure enough, those in the know already knew everything. Still, I felt I should explain anyway, though everyone seemed uninterested.
[Whatever, just start already]
[For real, explanation nerd out]
[But if the explanation nerd leaves, the stream ends since they’re the host]
“I’ll start inviting people”
After creating the room and sending invites to everyone I’d mentioned in the comments earlier, they started filling the empty spots one by one. As soon as they joined, some started showing off their flashy nicknames, which were all names of my body parts.
[Daeju’s right arm, left leg lol these nicknames are like f**king Exodia][1]
[lololol The ones with normal nicknames are the minority]
“If you don’t change to normal nicknames, I’m replacing you”
As soon as I said that, they briefly left and came back with changed names. They even memorized the password after entering once without my invitation, so they’re not completely stupid… but still…
Well, everyone came back with changed names.
There were still some questionable names, but since we’d only be using colors from now on anyway, I decided to let that level slide.
“Let’s start right away.”
I hadn’t played before, but it was so famous that even famous streamers had played it at least once. As someone who liked streaming, I knew the basic rules of this game too. The Imposters, like mafia in mafia games, can sabotage and kill crewmates, while crewmates need to either complete all tasks or find and vote out the imposters.
I like how simple it is.
First round, I was a crewmate.
With 2 imposters among 10 people, wouldn’t crewmates have the advantage if everyone had the same skill level?
At first, I just walked around doing tasks. During this process, some viewers kept following me at a slight distance which was annoying, but on the other hand, it made me feel secure.
“But is this person not doing tasks?”
[Maybe she’s actually an imposter?]
[If she were, she would’ve killed already]
[Come to think of it, whether she’s an imposter or crewmate, she’s trolling by not doing tasks]
[lol Since Daeju never goes out, he’s getting cyber stalkers lol]
Then with a beep sound, text appeared saying a body was found.
“What? Already two?”
Two people were dead in the short time it took to do just two tasks.
The cafeteria was right above where I last did my task. I think I saw a few people while going to do tasks, but I was so focused on Blue who was stalking me that I couldn’t remember what colors passed by. I asked Blue if she knew, wondering if she might.
I kind of expected this.
[These dumb and dumber[2] idiots don’t even know the colors of people who passed right by]
[For real lolol Didn’t you see Brown and Red passing together?]
[I mean, Daeju aside, Blue didn’t see either? While doing nothing but following?]
[This is Daeju-dan average]
Eventually, we skipped the first vote, and with Brown and Pink dead, 8 people remained.
The situation was still favorable for crewmates, but because people died faster than expected, the task gauge had barely moved.
“Blue… if you’re watching the stream, please do some work, you… person”
[You…?]
[He wants to say ‘you f**king bastard!’ but that’s too harsh so he says ‘you person’]
[lol But if Blue wasn’t following, the body in cafeteria would’ve been Daeju lol]
[Always be grateful…]
Either she was listening or felt the crisis from the barely-moved task gauge, but Blue didn’t follow me this round.
Well, since I was a crewmate, I was busily walking around doing tasks, when I noticed the CCTV light that was always on had turned off, so I headed to security where you can watch the CCTV.
“I knew this would happen!”
[There’s a dead body]
[What? Red died?]
[???? Then who killed Brown?]
[Was it Daeju?]
[Maybe?]
I hit report as soon as I found the body, but it seems I discovered it a bit late.
“What? Three people are dead?”

T/N:
1. “Exodia” is a reference to Yu-Gi-Oh! where Exodia is formed by collecting different body parts cards
2. The “dumb and dumber” (덤앤더머) reference is using the English movie title directly in Korean
