Let Me Go, I’m Not Pregnant - Chapter 2
Luo Shen maneuvered through the crowd, pushing his way up to the second floor of the Tianxi Building. The room he reached was somewhat secluded, and he noticed that it had a separate door leading to a staircase that went to the back courtyard. However, he found that the door was locked and it opened outward.
As he contemplated leaving, a sudden pain struck the back of his head, and he collapsed to the floor. Unbeknownst to him, someone had drugged him.
Shortly after, a servant named Guinu entered the room, performed a polite bow, and said, “Please wait a moment, dear guest. The person you are here to see will arrive soon.”
Luo Shen began to speak but was interrupted by the pain and dizziness. He didn’t finish his sentence before collapsing.
Guinu lifted him off the floor and placed him on the bed. The room was dimly lit with red candles, and an intoxicating scent filled the air. Luo Shen felt something was off and was about to leave when he saw Guinu lock the door. He grew uneasy.
Just as he was about to say something, Guinu’s partner signaled and left the room. Guinu proceeded to light more candles, and the room was filled with an enticing aroma.
Meanwhile, Gu Xingzhi was enjoying himself at a different part of the establishment, sipping wine and watching the entertainment. A familiar servant approached him, asking, “Sir, why did you come here today? Aren’t you looking for a lady to accompany you with drinks?”
Gu Xingzhi glanced at the servant and then turned his attention back to the performance, replying casually, “You’re here to make money. It doesn’t matter what I do.”
The servant’s smile faded slightly, and he gestured toward a private box across from them. “Our Miss Wen would like to have a conversation with you. Will you honor her with your presence?”
Gu Xingzhi glanced at the indicated box and noticed an elegant figure inside. He suddenly found the evening less enjoyable and stood up. “It’s getting late, and I have other matters to attend to. If it’s not something important, I won’t be going up.”
The servant’s smile stiffened, and he watched Gu Xingzhi walk away. However, he couldn’t resist adding, “Miss Wen is the most beautiful lady in the capital. Many people want to meet her. Today, you…”
Before he could finish, Gu Xingzhi had already walked away.
As Gu Xingzhi made his way through the crowd towards the stairs, he noticed a sudden commotion. A crowd was converging in his direction, and he skillfully avoided them, stepping near the edge of the stairs. The crowd fell momentarily silent, and then a figure rushed into him.
Gu Xingzhi was bumped, almost losing his balance and falling down the stairs. He quickly grabbed onto a nearby pillar and managed to steady himself, but he also pulled the person who had collided with him back into the crowd.
The young woman stumbled and ended up in the arms of someone behind her. Her face turned unusually red, and she looked up at Gu Xingzhi with embarrassment. “Thank you, sir…”
Following her, a few angry women approached. “Zhao Xiaoling! Come back with us!”
It seemed like the young lady named Zhao Xiaoling had run away from her companions and was now facing the consequences.
In the midst of their conversation, those several women also noticed something was amiss with Zhao Xiaoling and promptly took her back with them.
Gu Xingzhi had just turned to leave when he realized that the staircase had been blocked by someone. He couldn’t descend, so he looked up and finally understood the source of the commotion: Miss Wen, in her desire to dance, had flown down from the second floor with a silk ribbon.
A crowd gathered at the staircase, craning their necks to watch the performance on the stage. Gu Xingzhi had no choice but to take a detour and find another staircase to go down.
As he emerged from the crowd and started heading toward a different set of stairs, he suddenly felt a burning sensation on his skin. He raised his hand to examine it and discovered a thin layer of unabsorbed ointment, likely from the contact when he had collided with someone earlier. Not only his palm but also the area on his chest that had been touched felt sticky.
Realizing he had been drugged, Gu Xingzhi quickened his pace. He navigated through the corridors of rooms, trying to find an empty one to endure the initial effects of the drug.
Behind him, he could hear hurried footsteps closing in.
Gu Xingzhi walked by a room and noticed that the door was locked. In his hasty state, he decided to break in and pushed the door open.
Inside the room, Luo Shen had just woken up from his drowsiness and saw Gu Xingzhi standing at the doorway. Before he could react, Gu Xingzhi forcefully closed the door, and the sound of the lock clicking echoed in the room.
Locked in.
Luo Shen, still groggy, struggled to sit up and asked, “What’s going on?”
Seeing Gu Xingzhi’s strange expression, he instinctively felt a sense of danger and quickly got off the bed. However, his legs gave way, and he almost knelt on the floor.
Then, he felt a burning sensation around his waist, and the scent of the person in front of him overwhelmed his senses. His mind went blank.
Gu Xingzhi, with his eyes clouded in darkness, could hardly see Luo Shen’s face. He was struggling to control himself. “I will compensate you afterward.”
Luo Shen, struggling to regain his senses, felt a sudden chill. He pushed the person away and clutched his clothes, desperately saying, “No, I can’t!”
Even if he were slow to understand, he now knew what had happened.
Luo Shen turned to see the candles burning around him, with only half remaining. He rushed to extinguish them but found that his breath was hot, and the person behind him behaved uncontrollably, like a beast.
He managed to blow out two candles before he felt a force pressing down on him. In the blink of an eye, he was thrown back onto the bed.
Their eyes locked, and Luo Shen suddenly felt like prey facing a natural predator. He had no strength left in him, but the other person’s fingers were dangerously close to his belt, needing just a little more force…
Their lips collided in an urgent kiss, bodies pressed together, breaths ragged. The room temperature rose, and as consciousness wavered, Luo Shen struggled helplessly, his heart sinking into despair.
He missed the fact that, as an emperor, he was being violated by someone one day, and what was even more dangerous was that he himself had fallen into a trap. Perhaps this was all part of Luo Ming’s plan? But how could he have known…
Lost in thought for a few seconds, Luo Shen felt a sudden chill on his face. He snapped back to reality and locked eyes with a now-conscious Gu Xingzhi.
Tea from Gu Xingzhi’s hair dripped onto Luo Shen’s face.
Then, Gu Xingzhi released Luo Shen and stumbled towards the back door. He kicked it open with a sudden motion, causing the door to loosen, just a gentle push would open it.
Gu Xingzhi pointed at the door. “You need to leave now, or else, I can’t guarantee when I’ll regain my senses.”
Luo Shen was momentarily confused, looking at Gu Xingzhi and then at the door. Finally, his sluggish mind captured a few key words. He quickly got off the bed and ran towards the door.
As he reached the door, he heard a loud bang from behind.
Luo Shen turned around and saw Gu Xingzhi smashing a teapot and picking up a shard from the ground, ready to stab it into his own arm.
In an instant, his body moved faster than his consciousness.
Luo Shen quickly grabbed Gu Xingzhi’s wrist.
Their eyes met, and Luo Shen suddenly felt like prey facing a natural predator.
He had no strength left, but Gu Xingzhi’s fingers were already near his belt, a slight push away from…
Their lips collided urgently, their bodies pressed together tightly, their breaths ragged. The temperature around them continued to rise, and as consciousness ebbed and flowed, Luo Shen struggled helplessly, his heart sinking.
—
The next morning, the drug’s effect had mostly worn off on Luo Shen. He woke up suddenly, his whole body aching as if it had been beaten.
He blinked in astonishment at the bright sunlight streaming in from outside. Had it already been noon?
Then, he turned to his side and saw Gu Xingzhi’s face. His head throbbed again.
Gu Xingzhi’s body was fit, and despite inhaling an excessive amount of candle smoke and absorbing the ointment, his eyes were now tightly furrowed, as if he was about to wake up.
Luo Shen swallowed hard and remembered what had happened. He reached down and felt something he shouldn’t be feeling.
His face turned red, then anger surged. He quickly picked up his clothes from the floor.
As he moved, a crumpled piece of paper rolled onto the bed. He didn’t pay it any attention, got dressed, and then pushed open the back door to leave.
Behind him, Gu Xingzhi propped himself up, holding the back of his head with one hand. He slowly opened his eyes, taking in the chaos in the room and the figure of the man he had just met, tugging at his robes and fleeing with a painful body.
His head felt like it had been punched, and fragmented memories floated into his mind. Gu Xingzhi’s expression changed rapidly, and he quickly lifted the sheets.
Sure enough, everything had been done.
A fire of anger burned in his chest, and his gaze landed on that crumpled piece of paper, but with a gentle pull, it instantly turned into shreds.
Gu Xingzhi subconsciously knew it was something from Luo Shen, but he didn’t know who Luo Shen was, which family he belonged to. However…
He turned his head and pulled out a mask from under his pillow. His gaze then swept over the pile of clothes on the floor, where a small and sparkling jade pendant lay.
Gu Xingzhi got dressed and walked out through the back door.
At the same time, Luo Shen had just rushed out of the Tianxi Building but was intercepted on the side road by a carriage.
A familiar voice came from the carriage, saying, “Imperial Brother, today is the grand ceremony of Imperial Brother’s ascension to the throne. Why is Imperial Brother not in the palace but running around in this revelry?”
Luo Shen, upon hearing this, immediately approached the carriage and said, “Thank you for coming out of the palace to pick me up. No need for so many words.”
He climbed onto the carriage, pulling open the curtain and sitting next to Luo Ming. This surprised Luo Ming to the point where she couldn’t even move her fan and stared at him with wide eyes.
Luo Shen pretended nonchalantly, “What? You didn’t come to pick me up, did you? Or did you come to assassinate me?”
Luo Ming: “…”
