Picking Up An Alpha On Garbage Star - Chapter 26 Temporary Marking
During breakfast, Pei An’s gaze kept drifting towards Xie Yu, mainly looking at the apron. The dog-themed apron was tied around Xie Yu’s waist, and it gave an unexpectedly cute contrast.
Xie Yu noticed Pei An’s substantial attention and silently took off the apron. He had another apron, but for some inexplicable reason, he reached for the one that Pei An had given him this morning.
“Today, I need to make a trip to the administrative office, but I’ll be back for lunch,” Pei An calculated how much longer he could squeeze some home-cooked meals out of Xie Yu, as he was nearing his heat.
Xie Yu furrowed his brow, “Are you going alone?”
Usually, Pei An going to the administrative office alone wouldn’t be an issue, especially given the DS009 Administrative Officer’s attitude towards him. However, Xie Yu was concerned because Pei An was nearing his heat, and going out alone was dangerous.
“Don’t worry; I don’t plan on going solo,” Pei An answered, and he was already preparing himself for an extra day of home-cooked meals from Xie Yu.
Xie Yu relaxed a bit at this assurance. “Just let me know if you need anything, and I’ll be there in a heartbeat.”
Pei An gave an “OK” hand gesture, finishing his breakfast and then retreating to his room to change.
DS009 was getting cooler again, so Pei An needed to wear a coat. Out of all the ordinary windbreakers, Pei An picked a black one.
With a nod of approval from Xie Yu after their brief exchange, Pei An left the house and headed towards the base.
Today, Fan Wen had asked to meet him at the administrative office to discuss the disposal of Jin Feng’s group, but Pei An suspected that Fan Wen had other hidden motives.
The three-day time limit Pei An had given Fan Wen had already passed, and Fan Wen was feigning interest in discussing their disposal. Pei An’s patience was wearing thin, but his goal was clear – Fan Wen must be dealt with today.
He preferred not to make a solo trip to the administrative office, especially now, so close to his heat. Pei An knew it would be dangerous. Hence, he had plans to visit the base first and take equipment capable of dismantling the administrative office if necessary.
Xie Yu joined him for breakfast, and after Pei An shared his plans, he relaxed a bit.
As Pei An left, Xie Yu couldn’t help but feel a bit anxious. The fact that a unit from 286 Legion was en route to the Moran Star System with unclear objectives raised some concerns. Unsanctioned actions by a military unit could be a severe breach of protocol, and Xie Yu was determined to find out what was going on.
Today, Fan Wen had invited him, but Pei An was nearby, and it was just the right time to confront Fan Wen and his schemes. Pei An didn’t like trouble, but he wouldn’t avoid it when necessary.
Once at the base, Pei An went straight to the armory to select the weapons he would need. He chose four C1 bombs, a compact but powerful explosive ideal for sabotage, along with a sidearm pistol that he concealed expertly beneath his coat.
He also took one dose of suppressant, just in case.
Hedon arrived with the team leaders of the various squads for the pre-mission briefing. He had been tense all day, ready for this moment.
“Everyone, listen to my orders.” Pei An didn’t have much to say, just giving this command before his departure.
“Yes!” Hundreds of people stood in formation, their voices echoing.
Each one of them was armed to the teeth, having undergone rigorous training. Today wasn’t just another ordinary day; they were going to face the real thing. Everyone was a mix of nervousness and excitement.
Pei An, fully equipped, boarded a hovercar and set off towards the administrative office.
Hedon watched as Pei An’s car receded into the distance and checked the time. “Assume your positions!”
With that command, all the personnel behind him sprang into action, moving swiftly to their designated spots.
The administrative office had fortified its defenses since Pei An had kicked down the door previously. But regardless of how many more people they added, they couldn’t stop Pei An. Additionally, their guards had interacted with him before and lacked the courage to open fire when confronted with him. Even if they did open fire, they wouldn’t stand a chance due to their poor marksmanship compared to Pei An’s swift reflexes.
Today, the security at the administrative office was on high alert, and the personnel were increased, although most of the guards remained hidden. But Pei An’s psychic abilities quickly detected them, revealing their presence.
“Mr. Pei, you’ve arrived,” Fan Wen’s secretary, a man wearing plain black-framed glasses and pretending to be an amiable person, welcomed Pei An.
Pei An was too exhausted to maintain formal politeness. He simply said, “Lead the way.”
The secretary dared not object, afraid that if he led the way, Pei An would break his neck with a single twist if provoked. He led Pei An into the administrative office, feigning politeness.
“Mr. Pei, you’ve always cared about our DS009’s work, and the administrative officer holds your decisiveness in high regard. Even in decision-making, Mr. Pei’s opinions are always sought.”
Pei An’s lips twitched. Who would believe such nonsense? Was it necessary to maintain this false politeness?
The secretary continued with his fake smile, guiding Pei An to Fan Wen’s office.
Fan Wen’s office was no stranger to Pei An; he had visited several times before. Each visit left Fan Wen furious, thinking of ways to get rid of Pei An.
“Mr. Pei has arrived. Please, have a seat.” Fan Wen greeted Pei An with an unusually fake yet almost genuine smile, offering a warm welcome.
Pei An couldn’t help but think that Fan Wen had probably found a way to deal with him.
“Administrative Officer Fan said he wanted to discuss how to deal with Jin Feng’s group,” Pei An sat down leisurely. “Administrative Officer Fan, your pace seems a bit slow, don’t you think?”
Today, Fan Wen’s office was different from usual. It was filled with a pleasant fragrance. Pei An noticed an aroma diffuser on Fan Wen’s desk, which was likely the source of the fragrance.
“Mr. Pei, have you taken a liking to my aroma diffuser?” Fan Wen’s smile widened. “If you like it, I can give it to you!”
Fan Wen acted friendly toward Pei An, explaining at length how amazing this aroma diffuser was.
“Mr. Pei, don’t underestimate this aroma diffuser,” Fan Wen continued. “This is a limited edition model produced by Aphrodisia, one of the Empire’s top luxury brands!”
Pei An thought, “What’s inside Fan Wen’s brain? As an administrative officer from a distant star, he doesn’t seem like someone who can afford Aphrodisia. Why doesn’t he even try to hide it? Or is he trying to trap me here at the administrative office, unable to leave?”
In the midst of Fan Wen’s enthusiastic introduction of this super luxury product, he exclaimed, “Do you know how much a set of this Aphrodisia aroma with the diffuser costs?”
Fan Wen made a “5” gesture, exaggerating, “Five million, Lyte Coins, of course.”
Pei An could be certain that Fan Wen was genuinely insane. Who would spend 5 million Lyte on an aroma diffuser, regardless of how much they bragged about its value? But Fan Wen could produce 5 million Lytes for buying an almost useless aroma diffuser. That indicated a significant amount of money being collected secretly.
When he sorted out his business with Fan Wen, he would clean out his accounts.
Pei An thought to himself.
“Administrative Officer Fan, let’s get back to discussing Jin Feng,” Pei An interrupted Fan Wen’s talk about the aroma diffuser. He was no longer interested in hearing about the origins and consequences of the device.
Fan Wen was so absorbed in talking about his “five-million” Lytes aroma diffuser that when Pei An shifted the conversation, he hesitated for a while.
“This is the deal: I’ve already investigated all of Jin Feng’s henchmen. According to the Empire’s laws, these henchmen should be sentenced to imprisonment based on the severity of their actions,” Fan Wen said, glancing at his prized aroma diffuser.
Pei An couldn’t help but smile sarcastically. “And what about the clients? Are you only punishing the henchmen?”
“Well…” Fan Wen hesitated, “Mr. Pei, you have to understand, the clients you mentioned are all valuable contributors to our DS009. They are heroes with merit. How can they be punished easily?”
Pei An’s face turned dark instantly. These so-called heroes? People who let their lower instincts do the thinking? Heroes with merit?
“Mr. Pei, you’re just a commoner. Of course, you wouldn’t understand. These clients are significant taxpayers for DS009! The funding for DS009’s infrastructure, the salaries of administrative personnel – it all comes from their tax payments. Without their contributions, how could DS009 function?”
Pei An was furious, slamming the table. “Fan Wen! Are you saying these things with a straight face?”
Utterly shameless!
Fan Wen involuntarily shrank back a bit, looking over to the aroma diffuser. He was relieved to find it working perfectly, and his fear of Pei An diminished.
“Pei An, you’re angry, but what can you do about it? This is the rule. I’ve tolerated you several times; do you really think you can challenge the rules now?”
Fan Wen took a deep breath and glanced at the aroma diffuser, making sure it was still running. His fear of Pei An had lessened considerably.
“Fan Wen, what did you do?” Pei An was furious. “Don’t tell me you’ve put something in that aroma diffuser!”
The Lyte Empire didn’t allow the production of drugs like the one mentioned, and those who secretly manufactured such substances were often involved in shady dealings. It was unclear which contacts Fan Wen was involved with.
Fan Wen touched something under the armrest of his chair and then, suddenly, numerous footsteps approached.
Pei An stood up and turned around. The office door had just been kicked open.
The arriving individuals were not part of the administrative office’s security; it was evident that these people were different from the regular guards. The guards were ordinary individuals with no significant professional training, whereas these newcomers carried an air of menace.
In their midst, a formidable-looking alpha strode forward. He had rugged features and a scar that ran from the upper left to the right side of his face.
“Just as I thought,” the scarred man assessed Pei An and expressed his satisfaction.
Pei An, influenced by the drug, had been sweating profusely, and the fine beads of sweat were rolling down his forehead. This made him appear less intimidating, despite his sharp gaze.
Fan Wen obediently ran to the side of the scarred man, ingratiating himself, saying, “You see, I told you Pei An is an exceptional omega, didn’t I?”
The scarred man’s eyes were filled with both greed and desire. There was no doubt that, as an alpha, he coveted this remarkable omega.
“It’s indeed a shame. You’ve caused me to lose a portion of my Jin Feng. So, I have to use you to make up for my losses,” the scarred man exclaimed with a sinister laugh.
Pei An’s expression darkened, and the aroma of anxiety filled the room. He was unable to suppress his sharp gaze.
“Is Jin Feng your operation?” he demanded.
The mastermind behind kidnapping and trafficking people?
The scarred man burst into a hearty laugh, “You guessed right! Indeed, Jin Feng is my business. Unfortunately, it was ruined by you. You’ve caused me to lose a portion of Jin Feng. So, I have to use you to compensate for my losses.”
Pei An raised a hand to wipe off the sweat-soaked hair from his forehead, revealing a pair of fierce eyes. “Then let me see if you’re up to the task!”
As he spoke, Pei An vanished from his spot. He extended his powerful psychic abilities, covering everyone within his psychic domain, precisely pinpointing his target: the scarred man.
The scarred man, no stranger to danger, had a wealth of experience dealing with threats. He was prepared for Pei An’s move and dodged the initial attack.
However, Pei An hadn’t intended to finish him off with a single move. With his opponents taken aback by his vanishing act, Pei An quickly retrieved a hidden handgun and fired, taking down several of the scarred man’s underlings.
The scarred man seethed with anger, eager to tear Pei An to shreds.
“No wonder Fan Wen is so afraid of you. Despite being in heat, you still have the strength to fight,” the scarred man said, his eyes gleaming with lust, undoubtedly lusting for this attractive omega.
Pei An’s face darkened, and his potent pheromones began to permeate the room, stirring the atmosphere. All the alphas in the room seemed to be inflamed by their primal instincts, converging upon Pei An like wolves on fresh meat.
Once again, Pei An’s psychic power surged, forming into an incredibly intense and tangible force. This visible energy collected around him, creating a formidable barrier.
“Scoundrel, remember this; it’s your ancestors who are sending you to hell!” Pei An wasn’t usually one to use vulgar language, but he had picked up some of these phrases during the end times, as his companions used them to boost their combat spirit.
Pei An couldn’t fathom how trash talk related to a surge in the desire to fight, but he had learned a few phrases for times like these, and they seemed to work well.
The tremendous psychic energy, gathered by Pei An, turned into sharp blades and surged outward from him, covering his surroundings.
The alphas who couldn’t evade in time were struck by numerous tangible psychic blades, and these blades penetrated their bodies, causing screams to echo through the room.
Pei An didn’t stop there; he allowed the psychic blades to remain within these alphas’ bodies, using his psychic abilities to agitate them.
Even the scarred man, who was the strongest among them, couldn’t entirely avoid the assault and ended up with some of the psychic blades piercing into his body, causing him considerable pain.
Fan Wen was utterly terrified, cowering under his desk. He knew Pei An was formidable; his security guards couldn’t stand a chance. But even the notorious star system pirate, the scarred man, wasn’t Pei An’s match? The scarred man was known far and wide in the interstellar underworld.
The scarred man, suffering from the pain of the psychic blades, released his pheromones recklessly, attempting to use his own pheromones to overwhelm the omega in front of him, who had caused him harm.
Pei An didn’t give the scarred man an opportunity to turn the tables. He focused his psychic power even more, increasing the pressure on the scarred man.
“You piece of crap!” The scarred man, overwhelmed by Pei An’s psychic power, fell to his knees, unable to hold back his curses.
Pei An wiped the sweat from his face, recognizing that engaging in a fight during his heat period was no easy task.
Nonetheless, the battle was over.
Pei An didn’t hesitate. As he left the room, he threw a disguised C1 explosive device into Fan Wen’s office. Once he exited the office, he administered the suppressant drug to himself. The room soon resounded with a tremendous explosion.
The administrative building had been blasted with a gaping hole.
Leaning against the wall for a moment to recover, the suppressant drug wasn’t as fast-acting as he had hoped. The surge of his heat period was coursing through his body, making Pei An feel incredibly uncomfortable.
“These trashy methods are all you’re capable of,” Pei An muttered, sneering as he activated his neural implant and issued orders.
“Operation Dawn, commence.”
Within the administrative building, the security guards, well aware of the explosion that had just occurred, could make an educated guess about who was responsible. To ensure their own safety, none of them dared to approach the scene. They fled.
Pei An sprayed himself with a pheromone-blocking mist, but the effect wasn’t quite as effective as he needed it to be. His scent still lingered heavily. It was mostly due to his inability to control his glands, which were still producing pheromones continuously.
He got back into his vehicle, removed his jacket, and loosened the top two buttons of his shirt, breathing heavily. Something was wrong; he had injected himself with the suppressant drug, and it should have worked within half a minute to a minute.
But he was still experiencing the heat period symptoms. It had been two or three minutes since he injected the drug. Why wasn’t it working?
“Omegas’ emergency suppressant drugs usually take effect within half a minute to a minute,” he recalled Manzhu’s words.
Perhaps his condition was more severe than most omegas’? Did it take a longer time for the suppressant drug to work?
No, that wasn’t it. No matter how severe the heat period, the suppressant drug should have some effect, even if it was slow.
The only exception was the induction agent that Fan Wen used, which Pei An inhaled.
No one knew to what extent an induction agent could induce effects. It shouldn’t be less effective than an omega’s natural heat period state, considering it was a banned substance used to trigger heat period status in non-heat period omegas.
Unfortunately, Pei An had inhaled it, and he was already approaching his heat period.
It was his own momentary lapse in judgment that allowed Fan Wen to deceive him. The Dawn Plan had now begun, and he couldn’t afford to spend days in solitary confinement at this time.
Furthermore, he couldn’t let his subordinates know that he was induced into heat.
He couldn’t return to the base to get the suppressant; either returning like this or using a suppressant would raise suspicion.
So, his only option was to find an alpha to help him.
Pei An clenched his teeth and sent a message to Xie Yu:
【You should be at home, right? Wait for me; I’ll be back soon.】
After sending the message, Pei An immediately activated his hovercar and sped away.
He needed to act quickly; he had to resolve his heat period before the Dawn Plan concluded. He wanted to appear before everyone with a confident demeanor.
Xie Yu, who received Pei An’s message, was in the kitchen, busy cooking. There wasn’t much else for him to do, and the thought of leaving DS009 soon and not seeing Pei An again weighed heavily on his mind. So he felt quite lonely as he tied on an apron and began cooking.
【I’m making a stew; today it’s chicken and mushroom stew.】
Pei An didn’t respond; he was in a hurry, and he couldn’t afford to reply to messages from his Smart Brain.
Unfortunately, the suppressant didn’t work, and his heat period was progressing. It seemed that his condition had deteriorated because of the induction agent he had inhaled.
He had to rush back home, where he could get the help he needed.
Stopping his hovercar and turning off the engine, Pei An rushed upstairs and opened the door. He was cloaked in an alluring fragrance, and he headed straight for the kitchen, where he seized the hand of someone still holding a ladle.
“Xie Yu, mark me,” he demanded.
The ladle clattered to the floor.
Xie Yu was surrounded by Pei An’s potent omega pheromones, and Pei An had extended an invitation for a mark to him.
“Pei An, what’s going on?” Xie Yu wasn’t frivolous, and he wouldn’t simply bite Pei An when asked to mark him. He half-supported Pei An, who was obviously weakened, and led him to the living room.
The compatibility between Pei An and Xie Yu’s pheromones was exceptionally high, and Pei An had sent an invitation for a mark. However, he was too weak to participate actively in the bonding process.
“Xie Yu,” Pei An managed to choke out. His throat was dry, his voice hoarse, and his body was trembling.
“Quick, give me a temporary mark.”
Xie Yu hesitated, as he couldn’t take marking someone lightly, but he knew that Pei An’s pheromones were causing a maddening effect, and the frigid aura in the room was overwhelming.
“Pei An, I can’t just mark you casually,” Xie Yu protested. His resolve was waning, but he still held on to his rationality, even though his own mental discipline was on the verge of collapsing.
Pei An’s mind was growing hazier, his vision blurring, and his pheromone glands were pumping uncontrollably.
“Xie Yu…” Pei An’s consciousness was gradually sinking, his body was burning, and he felt like he had been pulled out of water.
Xie Yu asked, “Where are your suppressants?”
Pei An, with a hazy gaze, shook his head and replied, “I already injected them, but they didn’t work. Fan Wen administered an inducement agent.”
Unable to control himself, Pei An gave up the struggle. He clutched Xie Yu’s clothing and bowed his head, exposing his vulnerable nape. “Xie Yu, you have to help me. I have something important to do, and I can’t let the heat period delay it.”
Xie Yu’s hand trembled; his rationality had nearly collapsed. No alpha could resist Pei An in this state. The room was filled with a frigid atmosphere, and they were in the throes of extreme heat.
Due to ethical concerns, Xie Yu couldn’t casually mark Pei An. Their relationship was not the typical alpha-omega dynamic. At most, they could be considered friends, but Xie Yu’s primary concern was that marking Pei An now would be taking advantage of his vulnerable state, and it would be a disrespectful act.
But… If Pei An had not been desperate, he wouldn’t have sought Xie Yu’s help. Pei An was a strong and proud individual.
Pei An also had lofty ambitions, and this heat period might severely impact his ability to pursue those ambitions.
Xie Yu couldn’t bear to see Pei An discouraged. “Pei An, I need to clarify one thing with you. You want me to give you a temporary mark, right?”
Pei An opened his eyes, which were moist with sweat, and spoke with determination, “Yes, I want yours, a temporary mark.”
Xie Yu’s alpha attributes, which he usually kept under control, began to surface as he restrained Pei An’s body to prevent any erratic movements. His other hand brought Pei An’s nape closer, and he emitted a potent pheromone.
Alpha pheromones became more intense, and the room temperature plummeted as a frigid aura filled the space. Pei An felt his body temperature drop due to the influence of Xie Yu’s pheromones.
[Pei An]: *I’m not sure what’s wrong with me. You know that I have a temporary mark now; that’s all you need to know. The mark is not a complete bite; just a nip on the gland.*
Xie Yu bit him.
The duration of a temporary mark was much shorter than a permanent one, just a few minutes, but for Pei An, those few minutes felt like an eternity.
As his body temperature lowered and his pheromone glands were no longer frantically active, Xie Yu effectively calmed him down.
Xie Yu was experiencing intimate contact with an omega for the first time, particularly the act of marking the gland. If his father found out that he had marked an omega without being in a romantic relationship, he would undoubtedly chase him with a broom around the garden of their home.
It was a shame, as this marking was merely an act of assistance. This temporary mark wouldn’t bring about any changes for either Xie Yu or Pei An.
Thinking this, Xie Yu’s mood dropped for no apparent reason.
After being held in Xie Yu’s embrace for a considerable time, Pei An finally regained his composure, and the heat of the heat period was effectively suppressed.
“Xie Yu, thank you,” Pei An earnestly expressed his gratitude.
Xie Yu wanted to continue hugging for a while, but his rational side told him it was time to let go.
After taking a deep breath that was filled with longing, Xie Yu released Pei An and placed him gently on the sofa.
“Have some water first,” Xie Yu picked up a glass and fetched some lukewarm water.
“Thank you,” Pei An took the glass and chugged the water, his throat parched and in need of hydration.
Xie Yu hesitated; they had been so intimately close just a moment ago, but now they had reverted to polite social distance. He felt somewhat uncomfortable.
Perhaps he should leave the living room.
“Soup’s still on the stove; I’ll check the fire,” Xie Yu left in a hurry.
After picking up the spoon that had fallen on the floor and cleaning it, Xie Yu stirred the chicken soup. The water had almost reached its boiling point, and it would be ready to serve shortly.
Once he finished checking the soup, Xie Yu stood still, lost in thought.
He knew he had only done Pei An a favor, and he shouldn’t dwell on the scent of Pei An’s pheromones. But he couldn’t help himself.
Pei An’s pheromone had a unique fragrance, different from any Xie Yu had encountered before. He couldn’t identify the particular flower it resembled, but it was refreshing, and he had never encountered this fragrance before. It was a scent that went well with Pei An’s clean and fresh aroma.
Little did he know that this scent was reminiscent of plum blossoms, which bloomed in the depths of a harsh winter. It wouldn’t blossom in places with a stable climate control system, but only in the frigid conditions that most people would fear.
Today, the plum blossoms bloomed on the ice and snow.
Pei An took a moment to rest on the sofa before he got up. After the chaotic events he had gone through, his entire body was soaked, and he needed a shower.
Before going back to the room, Pei An glanced quietly into the kitchen. Xie Yu seemed to be engrossed in his work, but Pei An felt a sense of loneliness.
He couldn’t quite describe this feeling.
Well, it was time to take a shower.
Pei An turned back, acting as if everything was normal, and retrieved a fresh set of clothes from his room before entering the bathroom.
After Pei An entered the bathroom, Xie Yu looked outside, managing a bitter smile.
The gland had been bitten, and now this was an unusual sensation for Xie Yu. Pei An looked into the mirror and noticed a deep bite mark.
Alpha pheromones would accelerate the healing of the gland, so Pei An wasn’t concerned about it. However, after this temporary marking, it was unclear who owed whom between him and Xie Yu.
Pei An tugged at the corner of his mouth, feeling somewhat displeased. In his view, he owed a debt to Xie Yu now.
His body was covered in pheromones, and no matter how long he washed, he couldn’t completely rid himself of the scent. It seemed that the markings were quite different from accidental exposure, primarily because of their high compatibility in pheromones. Even the slightest pheromone had a much greater effect than with other people.
He couldn’t wash it off, and he didn’t want to strain Xie Yu further. After spraying a couple of cans of pheromone blocker, Pei An changed into clothing and left the bathroom.
Fortunately, he had purchased plenty of pheromone blockers; otherwise, he and Xie Yu would be reeking of pheromones.
Pei An opened the chair, sat down silently, and stared blankly. Xie Yu’s attempt at making conversation made him feel uneasy.
With Pei An’s abilities, he shouldn’t have ended up in such a sorry state.
Pei An chewed his food with irritation. “Fan Wen is a scoundrel. Not only did he have connections with Unit 286, but he was also collaborating with space pirates. He hired them to attack me today, intending to set up an ambush. He even spent a fortune to buy a limited edition fragrance machine named ‘Ai Bao’ and filled it with an inducement agent. When I entered Fan Wen’s office, it already smelled fragrant, so he had successfully confused me.”
Xie Yu’s gaze darkened, and he clumsily fumbled with his chopsticks. “Did you say space pirates?”
“Yes, with a big scar on his face,” Pei An nodded.
“The Space pirate with a scar on his face is usually called Block, and people refer to him as Scar.” Xie Yu shivered; Block was notorious for human trafficking. He had tried to catch him several times but never succeeded; Block was incredibly cunning and always managed to escape. Fan Wen collaborating with Block…
“Jin Feng belongs to Block,” Xie Yu said without a hint of doubt.
Pei An confirmed his suspicion. “That’s right. Fan Wen accused me, probably because he resented me for disrupting his lucrative business and came to DS009 to settle scores.”
“Did Block say anything offensive to you?” Xie Yu’s intuition told him that Block must have had a foul mouth.
Pei An replied, “He said he wanted to capture me and sell me on the black market.” He omitted the part where Block had infuriated him further.
Xie Yu’s chopsticks were thoroughly destroyed. “What about him?”
“What about him?” Pei An looked puzzled. “Naturally, I killed him.”
“In that case, I’ll go spread his ashes,” Xie Yu said.
Pei An froze and then burst into laughter. “Xie Yu, are you angry because of me?”
As Pei An smiled, Xie Yu’s anger dissipated by half, and he replied somewhat awkwardly, “Yes.”
Pei An chuckled and remarked, “There’s nothing to be angry about. I’ve already taken care of Block. Isn’t that right? You should go get a new pair of chopsticks and enjoy your meal.”
Xie Yu’s anger was completely extinguished. He walked to the kitchen to retrieve another pair of chopsticks, almost tripping over himself.
Pei An raised his eyebrows, feeling that after their conversation, they were back to their previous state, but there was something more now.
It appeared that everyone was eagerly anticipating the implementation of the “Dawn Plan,” so the pace was incredibly fast. Pei An hadn’t even finished his lunch when he received a message from his subordinates, informing him that they had successfully occupied all three small planets, and all key departments had been staffed with their people.
Pei An didn’t want to disrupt the lives of ordinary citizens, even though the scale of today’s uprising was impossible to hide.
Their people would take control of all official departments, including the administrative bureau and the police station, and they would no longer employ the previous personnel.
The subsequent work would depend on the organization’s leader, which was Pei An. After lunch, he sat at the smart terminal to send messages.
“First, control external communications signals. Do not make a public announcement until the Unit 286 threat is neutralized. We don’t want to alert the Moran Galaxy Central Administrative Bureau.”
“Publish the prepared statement and arrange personnel to answer citizens’ questions. Be patient.”
“Maintain defense measures as before and be vigilant for enemy movements. Don’t let your guard down.”
“After the battle, begin reconstruction of the infrastructure, replacing whatever was destroyed.”
After washing the dishes, Xie Yu returned to the living room and saw Pei An issuing instructions, with the pheromone scent of their earlier interaction lingering in the air, despite having used several cans of pheromone blocker.
Xie Yu took his eyes off Pei An’s gland and sat down in a direction where he wouldn’t see Pei An’s nape. Then, he contacted his subordinates through his smart terminal.
“How long until you reach the Moran Galaxy?” he asked.
His subordinates, who were particularly attentive to his messages, responded quickly. “Commander, we’ll enter the Moran Galaxy tomorrow.”
Tomorrow… Xie Yu rubbed his fingertips. It seemed that he wouldn’t have much time left with Pei An.
So, before their departure, he would handle the 286 Unit, this troublesome situation.
“What about the 286 Unit’s situation?” he asked.
“Our reconnaissance agents report that the 286 Unit is also approaching the Morlan Galaxy. They will be entering the galaxy from a different direction.”
“Once you arrive in the Moran Galaxy tomorrow, regardless of the 286 Unit’s intentions, intercept them if they open fire.”
“Yes, Commander!”
The 286 Unit came to the Moran Galaxy following Fan Wen’s request, but they didn’t have a formal pretext. Xie Yu could only use his presence in the Moran Galaxy to block them and report their misconduct to the military headquarters.
As members of the Imperial Army, they couldn’t engage in a full-blown confrontation with the 286 Unit. Therefore, the most he could do was to drive them away and ensure that they wouldn’t disrupt Pei An’s plans. After Pei An finished his work, he raised his head. He considered it best to tell Xie Yu about his actions.
“Xie Yu, I suppose you’ve noticed that I’m doing something that contradicts your position,” Pei An said with a clear gaze. There was no calculation in his eyes; he just wanted to convey this.
Xie Yu looked straight into Pei An’s eyes, his expression serious. “I know, but I won’t oppose you.”
marmar
i thought he was in a hurry, but then he took a shower, eat lunch, and then communicate with his smart brain??? then what’s all that about wanting to show up before the operation end???😀
