Picking Up An Alpha On Garbage Star - Chapter 37.1
Xie Yu was a decisive man of action. He directly detained the administrative officer for interrogation. The pampered and changeable administrative officer was sent to a prison specifically designed for interrogation, where a stern military officer in charge of interrogation could easily extract the truth.
If one were to say that this person had a small heart, he showed no fear when engaging in illicit transactions for interstellar pirates. However, if one were to say that he had a big heart, Xie Yu scared him pale with just a few words. He looked as if he had been dusted with powder.
“I… I don’t know who’s behind the scenes. With my rank, I don’t have access to so many secrets. Besides the human trafficking every three months, I haven’t been involved in anything else!” The administrative officer, pale-faced, confessed, “DS009 is the only receiving point for human trafficking in the entire Moran Galaxy, and even that has been destroyed!”
The more the administrative officer spoke, the more agitated he became. He even reached out and grabbed Xie Yu’s pant leg, but Xie Yu managed to dodge in time.
“Whether or not DS009 was destroyed, it’s not your doing. Do you think you can escape?” Even though Xie Yu hadn’t been touched by the officer, he still brushed his pant leg as if trying to rid it of nonexistent dirt.
The administrative officer lost all hope, muttering to himself, “Am I going to die?”
Xie Yu raised his hand, signaling to take the man away. Before being dragged away, Xie Yu said to him, “As an administrative officer of the Moran Galaxy Administrative Office, a local official, colluding with interstellar pirates—death is your only fate.”
Afterwards, the administrative officer, fated for death, was dragged away. Knowing his fate, Xie Yu wouldn’t spare him. He couldn’t escape, so he stopped struggling, waiting for death to come.
Based on the information provided, it seemed that interstellar pirates smuggled people into the Moran Galaxy every three months. With the three-month mark approaching, this was an excellent opportunity to track down the pirates.
To smuggle people into the Moran Galaxy, interstellar pirates had to either disguise them as passengers or directly pose as crew members. Based on Xie Yu’s previous encounters with interstellar pirates, they were skilled at disguising themselves. So, both scenarios were possible.
Civilian spacecraft, unlike military ships, had performance limitations. Their shells were not as sturdy as military vessels, and collisions with celestial bodies could result in disaster. To ensure the safety of civilian spacecraft, they were restricted to designated routes, with specific speeds and jump points.
Therefore, intercepting the hidden civilian spacecraft would allow them to trace the pirates’ base. Following the route and searching methodically, even if it was a carpet search, they could uncover a significant number of interstellar pirates.
Xie Yu thought for a moment and sent a message to Pei An.
【Don’t you want your subordinates to gain more practical combat experience?】
Pei An responded quickly.
【You already have an idea? I’m all ears.】
Xie Yu removed his ostentatious white gloves and, while walking, messaged Pei An.
【I’ve figured out the timing pattern of interstellar pirates trafficking people to the Moran Galaxy—once every three months. It’s almost time, and I plan to lead a team to ambush and capture the pirates entering the Moran Galaxy.】
After capturing them, the plan was to interrogate them about their headquarters and usual roaming routes, aiming to suppress the arrogance of the interstellar pirates. These pirates were avoiding direct confrontation, and their daily patrols were useless. It was time to take the initiative.
【Do you want my people to join you?】 Pei An asked.
Looking around and confirming that no one was present, Xie Yu used voice communication directly, “Pei An, I have confidence in my leadership skills. Do you trust my ability to lead troops?”
After sending the voice message, Xie Yu continued toward the bridge of the Ghost King with long strides.
This time, Pei An took a bit longer to respond, several minutes passing before he replied, “Honored to receive Commander Xie’s guidance.”
And so, the two of them finalized the plan to ambush the interstellar pirates.
Ten minutes after the civilian spacecraft entered the Moran Galaxy’s checkpoint along its route, Xie Yu decided to ambush the interstellar pirates right at the checkpoint.
To avoid alerting the pirates prematurely, Xie Yu would disguise himself as checkpoint personnel. Using the pretext of detecting prohibited items on the spacecraft, he would forcibly stop the ship, preventing it from progressing. He would then personally lead a team aboard to retrieve the individuals, with the fleet outside ready to respond.
As the interstellar pirates had a ruthless reputation, Xie Yu couldn’t risk the lives of ordinary passengers. Thus, he had to adopt this method. If it turned out that the entire crew of a ship was made up of interstellar pirates, Xie Yu would not hesitate to use missiles against them.
While waiting for the interstellar pirates, Xie Yu remained active. After executing the administrative officer of the Moran Galaxy Administrative Office, he started cleaning up ML001. The cleanup process was swift, and just after finishing, they would be ready to go after the interstellar pirates.
When the interstellar pirates, disguised as regular passengers, approached the checkpoint, Xie Yu promptly issued orders to capture them alive, ensuring the safety of the passengers as a priority.
Every time the interstellar pirates arrived in the Moran Galaxy, they would contact the administrative officer via the AI system, asking to be released. In case problems were discovered during inspection, causing a conflict at the checkpoint, it could jeopardize their carefully managed human trafficking operations.
Xie Yu, wearing the uniform of checkpoint personnel, with a communication device on his ear and carrying a C1 bomb sent by Pei An, boarded the civilian spacecraft.
“This spacecraft is showing signs of carrying prohibited items. Please, all passengers, disembark and wait. Once we’ve finished our inspection, you can reboard,” Xie Yu played the role of a checkpoint staff flawlessly.
Considering the limited number of people traveling to the remote Moran Galaxy, this civilian spacecraft had a small passenger capacity and a compact space. To avoid inconvenience during the operation, passengers had to be evacuated quickly.
“What’s wrong with the passenger next to you?” Xie Yu, disguised with a slightly altered appearance, a rough black mustache, and large black eyebrows, asked, looking quite intimidating.
“My omega isn’t feeling well, so he’s asleep,” the alpha passenger replied. “Could we not disembark? My omega is in this condition, and it wouldn’t be convenient to get off the spacecraft.”
Quietly gesturing for a rapid passenger evacuation, Xie Yu approached the alpha passenger. “This passenger, please cooperate with our work. Don’t make things difficult for us.”
However, the alpha passenger remained unmoved and spoke with a hostile tone, “Our journey has been smooth all the way with no issues reported at checkpoints. Why do problems arise only when we get here? Are you trying to seize our belongings after we disembark?!”
After the alpha’s complaints, some passengers who were already leaving turned back, showing hesitation.
The Moran Galaxy was the poorest galaxy in the entire empire. People on this galaxy were undoubtedly very poor.
What if they really wanted to steal our belongings once we disembarked?
“I see you’re refusing to cooperate; that’s suspicious,” Xie Yu, now standing in front of the alpha, suddenly grabbed him, lifted him from his seat, and tossed him to his subordinates. “I suspect he’s carrying prohibited items. Take him away for investigation.”
Xie Yu’s reasoning was sound, and passengers who had started to leave turned to look. Some hesitated.
“Take this omega away to ensure his safety. If necessary, administer a sedative injection,” Xie Yu ordered, clearing out the second-class cabin. The first-class and executive cabins were next.
The alpha disguised as an omega had poor acting skills. Perhaps it was his first time being sent out.
What alpha would allow their omega, supposedly feeling unwell, to sleep leaning against the seat without asking a flight attendant for a blanket or lowering the seat slightly? The alpha hadn’t even glanced at the omega during the entire journey.
As an alpha, possessing their omega was ingrained in their nature. They would want to keep their omega close at all times. This alpha’s behavior immediately exposed his disguise.
Xie Yu, accompanied by his team, entered the first-class cabin again, using the same excuse. However, the first-class passengers were more cooperative. Still, some omega or beta passengers looked pale, trembling, occasionally glancing around nervously—clear signs of distress.
Kidnapped individuals dared not reveal they were abducted. Even if they did, it was doubtful anyone would believe them. Only by claiming to be a couple having a quarrel or cold war would people generally refrain from meddling, thinking it was a domestic matter.
Xie Yu carefully scrutinized all first-class passengers, confirming three suspects. He signaled the team outside to prepare for detaining the individuals, and he proceeded to the executive cabin.
This spacecraft was small, and the executive cabin had only a few seats. Moreover, interstellar travel fees were expensive, dissuading most people from buying executive-class tickets. The executive cabin was empty.
“Alright, you can go out now,” Xie Yu declared after a thorough inspection, double-checking the ship’s captain, vice-captain, crew members, and the entire course of the journey. Satisfied that no one had been replaced, he considered the inspection complete.
The three suspects were apprehended by Xie Yu’s subordinates.
“Why are you doing this? Why arrest us?”
“I’ll sue you for arbitrary arrests! Let’s see if the Empire’s laws allow your rampant behavior!”
“Innocents are being slaughtered! Innocents are being slaughtered!”
The three apprehended alphas loudly protested.
Coming out of the spaceship, Xie Yu removed the beard that had been bothering him, saying, “If you have something to say, come with me. Don’t disturb other passengers’ journeys.”
Lica removed her wig, running her hand through her natural hair. “Commander, the three omegas have been taken away.”
The unsuspecting passengers were petrified, as if they had encountered something extraordinary. The three alphas, upon hearing Lica’s words, changed their expressions, but they continued shouting in vain.
Xie Yu, feeling annoyed, commented, “Have you not learned anything? Faced with this situation, a swift knockout is all it takes.” The soldiers escorting the captives immediately understood, and with a swift hand chop, they knocked out the three alphas who were incessantly yelling.
“Don’t just stand there, take them back for interrogation!” Xie Yu waved his hand, instructing them to take the prisoners away.
Next, Xie Yu politely apologized to the bewildered passengers, “Sorry for the inconvenience. The three alphas taken away were involved in criminal activities, leading to their detainment. We appreciate your understanding during this journey.”
Who would dare not accept Xie Yu’s apology? Those three were criminals! They had been traveling alongside criminals for so long.
Thank goodness they were lucky enough to encounter someone who captured these three criminals.
Xie Yu graciously savored the gratitude of the public.
As they couldn’t linger at the checkpoint for long, Xie Yu quickly ushered the passengers back onto the spaceship and promptly exited the checkpoint.
He informed Pei An that the interstellar pirates had been captured and proceeded to interrogate the three pirates.
When dealing with interstellar pirates, Xie Yu had never heard of the term “humanity.” He ordered his soldiers to tie up the pirates and splashed a basin of icy water on them.
Just as the basin contained mostly ice and a small portion of melted water, splashing it down could feign death convincingly. The three interstellar pirates were directly awakened by Xie Yu’s splash.
Xie Yu had changed back into his military uniform, wearing elegant white gloves. The stars on his shoulders reflected a faint light in the dim lighting.
“Come on, confess where you’re from and who you’re working for.”
