Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 12
“Fu Tingzhou, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”
The young man’s eyes had a touch of crimson, just like the scene he had seen that night, bright and captivating, evoking sympathy.
“Sorry,” Fu Tingzhou instinctively lowered his voice and, while apologizing, walked up to the young man with long strides.
“Let’s get in the car first and talk.”
The man’s outstretched hand was fair and slender, with distinct joints.
Without realizing it, Shen Yunxing’s hands, clasped on his knees, tightened involuntarily. Mentally comparing the hand in front of him to his own, he came to a conclusion—bigger and better looking. Such good-looking hands must feel warm to hold.
He stared at the man’s palm for a moment, and when he snapped out of it, his right hand was already held by the man’s.
“Go to Willow Spring Garden and tell Mr. Liu that we’ll schedule another dinner.”
After getting into the car, Fu Tingzhou said.
Secretary Yang nodded and glanced at the cute person sitting next to his boss. He pursed his lips and willingly took on the role of an accessory.
“Did you lose your business card?” Fu Tingzhou turned his head to ask the young man beside him.
Shen Yunxing’s body stiffened for a moment, then nodded somewhat nervously.
The latter understood.
Oh, it’s not that he lost it, he deliberately threw it away.
As Shen Yunxing regained his composure inside the car, he remembered the purpose of this visit. He looked up at the man with a serious expression.
“Mr. Fu, I came today to tell you something very important.”
Fu Tingzhou’s gaze passed over Secretary Yang, who was driving. “No rush, I also have something to discuss with you. We’ll talk while we eat later.”
Shen Yunxing glanced in the same direction. He almost forgot there were other people in the car. This matter was indeed not suitable for others to know, so he didn’t refuse.
Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of Willow Spring Garden.
The gatekeeper recognized Fu Tingzhou’s car and was already waiting at the entrance before the car came to a complete stop.
“Mr. Fu, it’s been a while since you last visited,” the gatekeeper opened the car door, sounding very familiar. Then, he noticed a young man following behind Fu Tingzhou and couldn’t help but look at him with a hint of curiosity and scrutiny.
He had worked at Willow Spring Garden for five years, and apart from that Dr. Liu, he had never seen this person bring anyone to the garden, neither male nor female.
Fu Tingzhou nodded, “I’ve been quite busy lately. Is your boss available today?”
The gatekeeper, who was discreetly observing the young man behind Fu Tingzhou, quickly nodded, “Yes, he is. I’ll inform the boss right away and have him prepare two signature dishes from Willow Spring Garden to be sent to your private dining room.”
“Thank you.”
“You’re very welcome.” The gatekeeper felt a bit uneasy, knowing that this person was deliberately testing him. He swiftly led them to a private dining room and hurried away like his backside was on fire.
“I chose Willow Spring Garden because you don’t look well,” Fu Tingzhou explained to the young man. “Their cuisine is relatively mild and suitable for those with a poor appetite.”
Shen Yunxing was momentarily stunned and then said, “Thank you.”
This was their third meeting. The first time, he had fled in panic and had only seen a blurry side profile of the man. The second time, it was at the foot of Wucheng Mountain, and the man had furrowed his brow while looking at him from inside the car. He had been in a bad mood at the time and had lost control of his emotions, cursing the man who had led to his current situation.
And now, this was the third time.
The man sitting across from him exuded an unmistakable air of dominance in every gesture and expression, impossible to ignore.
Of course, his good looks were equally impossible to ignore.
As Shen Yunxing discreetly observed the man while pretending to look at the menu, he was unaware that Fu Tingzhou was also quietly observing his every move.
A glass of warm water was placed in front of him, and Shen Yunxing accepted it with a nod of thanks.
As he sipped from the glass, he covertly glanced at the man. The impression he was getting was entirely different from their previous encounters. The man had sat in the car, his face cold and his brow furrowed, making Shen Yunxing think he had a bad temper. He had even worried that the man might instruct the security to throw him out when he arrived today.
The food at Willow Spring Garden was indeed excellent. Shen Yunxing hadn’t eaten much in the morning, and he couldn’t resist having a few extra bites of the dishes that suited his taste.
One bite followed another, and inevitably, he ended up overeating.
Hiding behind the table, he discreetly rubbed his overfilled stomach.
He thought the man wouldn’t notice, but little did he know that the man had already seen all these small actions through the mirror on his side, observing them quite clearly.
Fu Tingzhou noticed the young man’s hesitation and the shift in his expression, which was becoming more serious. He guessed that the young man had something to say.
“Mr. Fu, I have something to tell you.”
Shen Yunxing looked at the person in front of him, and due to nervousness and unease, his palms became sticky.
He rubbed his hands against the seams of his pants to get rid of the sweat, then mustered the courage to say, slightly embarrassed, “I’m pregnant, and the baby is just a few days short of two months.”
“Sorry, could you please repeat that? I didn’t quite catch it.”
Fu Tingzhou wanted to laugh. He did have some lingering thoughts about the young man, but it seemed that the young man’s intentions were not as simple as he had initially thought, given this fabricated story.
Shen Yunxing saw the sudden change in the man’s expression and his colder and more distant attitude, which made him feel an overwhelming sense of sadness and injustice.
He clenched his fingers, using the pain to numb himself.
“Although it sounds absurd, I’ve only had a physical relationship with you during this time, so the child is yours.”
Saying this, he took out a pregnancy test report from his pocket and placed it in front of the man.
Fu Tingzhou gazed directly at the young man, trying to detect any trace of falsehood in his face. Unfortunately, apart from stubbornness and grievance, there was nothing on the slightly pale face.
He lowered his eyes to the crumpled paper on the table, which had the words “Central Hospital” written on it. A faint furrow formed on his brow.
The man’s continued silence only deepened Shen Yunxing’s inner unease. Just as he was about to become too anxious to bear, the man finally reacted.
“Okay.” Fu Tingzhou looked at the young man, unable to help but imagine what it must have been like for him waiting alone in the hospital for the examination, just as anxious and fearful as now?
After leaving Willow Spring Garden, Fu Tingzhou didn’t let his secretary accompany them. Instead, he personally drove Shen Yunxing to the hospital.
“Do you have some time? I’m bringing someone over right now and I’d like you to help with a medical examination.”
On the way, he called Liu Huaijin. The latter rarely heard him speak in such a serious tone, causing any teasing remarks he had to swallow them back.
“I’m available before 4 PM.”
“Great, I’ll be there in half an hour.”
Fu Tingzhou hung up the phone and glanced at the person with a furrowed brow in the passenger seat.
The car window suddenly rolled down, and Shen Yunxing hesitated for a moment before quietly saying, “Thank you.”
The gentle breeze outside alleviated the discomfort in his chest somewhat.
After enjoying the breeze for a while, Shen Yunxing suddenly remembered that he had a piece of sour plum candy in his pocket. He took it out, unwrapped the candy, and put it in his mouth. The sour and sweet taste made a faint smile appear on his face.
During a red light, Fu Tingzhou wanted to check on the young man’s condition. He turned his head and saw the young man with a faint smile on his face, looking delicately innocent and childlike.
The young man had never smiled at him like this before, so he couldn’t help but look at him a bit more before discreetly shifting his gaze away before the young man noticed.
Did I see it wrong?
Shen Yunxing looked at the man driving with a puzzled expression but was soon drawn to the ornaments placed inside the car.
There was a very small and exquisite model of a corner of the Forbidden City, so finely detailed that even the bricks and tiles appeared almost lifelike.
Shen Yunxing had loved assembling things since he was a child. When he was little, he could spend an entire day playing with building blocks by himself. Even as he grew up, he continued to buy various models to assemble. However, he had never seen one as exquisite as this before.
“Do you like it?” Fu Tingzhou noticed that the young man’s gaze was fixed on the model and asked.
Shen Yunxing nodded and couldn’t help but ask, “Where did you buy this, and how much did it cost?”
“It was custom-made, and you can’t buy it now,” Fu Tingzhou paused and then added, “If you like it, I can give it to you. I have another one at home.”
Shen Yunxing was slightly surprised and immediately declined, “Thank you, but there’s no need.”
Their current relationship wasn’t even that of friends, so he had no reason to accept such an expensive gift, especially a custom-made one.
Fu Tingzhou nodded and, ignoring the young man’s occasional glances at the model, focused on driving.
Ten minutes later, the car stopped at the entrance of the Central Hospital.
Shen Yunxing silently followed the man until they entered a familiar office. When he saw a familiar face, his footsteps froze in place.
“Weren’t you supposed to bring someone? Where is the person?” Dr. Liu Huaijin had just finished a six-hour-long surgery and was extremely tired. He yawned and turned to look at the person who had entered with Fu Tingzhou. His expression noticeably froze when he saw Shen Yunxing.
“Xiao Yunxing? Is it really you?”
Dr. Liu Huaijin was astonished. He looked at his friend, then back at the young man in front of him, finally pointing at his friend’s nose as if waking from a dream, “Well, so you’re the scoundrel!”
Fu Tingzhou furrowed his brow slightly.
As he had guessed, it was indeed Dr. Liu Huaijin who was supposed to perform the examination on the young man.
“Tell me, what do you want from me?” Dr. Liu Huaijin, now composed, crossed his arms and looked at his friend warily. “Let me make it clear upfront, I won’t help you terminate the pregnancy, even if you’re my best buddy.”
Shen Yunxing’s emotions were already unstable, and upon hearing this, the color drained from his face even more. He looked up at the man, his palms sweaty from nervousness.
The tiny bit of trust he had managed to build up had crumbled in an instant. Fu Tingzhou’s expression darkened, “When did I ever say I wanted to terminate the pregnancy? Liu Huaijin, if you dare to imagine things that haven’t happened, you can forget about the hospital’s investment for the next six months.”
“Come on, I’m just worried about Yunxing’s health,” Dr. Liu Huaijin said, retracting his casual demeanor and speaking seriously. “He has a weak constitution, and if he rashly terminates the pregnancy, it might lead to serious consequences.”
Shen Yunxing’s face, already pale, turned even paler. He looked at the man and felt his palms become even more sweaty.
Fu Tingzhou looked at his young man, pursed his lips, and replied without hesitation, “Raise it.”
Shen Yunxing’s eyes widened.
He—had agreed to keep the baby?!
“Since you came to find me and don’t want your family to know about this, and also for the sake of your and the baby’s health, I think it’s necessary for us to live together. That way, I can take care of you more conveniently. So, I’ll send you back home to pack your things, and I’ll come to pick you up tomorrow.”
Fu Tingzhou, the CEO, decisively settled the matter of cohabitation with just a few words.
Shen Yunxing, wearing a bewildered expression, was sent back home. It wasn’t until he began packing his suitcase and started to follow the man’s instructions that he realized—he was going to live together with the other father of his baby!
