Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 2
In mid-July, Qintian’s drama was set to begin shooting, and even before Shen Yunxing joined the crew, he had already become a hot topic within the group.
After lunch, the four friends returned to school to take their graduation photos. Xue Li, with sharp eyes, noticed a luxury car parked at the school gate. He excitedly kept pulling at Shen Yunxing, who stood beside him.
“Wow! The latest model of this year! Which parent is so cool to send their son to school in this car?!”
Shen Yunxing didn’t know much about cars, so he casually asked, “Is it very expensive?”
“More than just expensive. It’s a global limited edition of a hundred cars, the kind of expensive that even if you’re rich, you can’t buy it!” Xue Li was so thrilled that he kept rubbing his hands and his eyes were glued to the car. His expression suggested that he really wanted to go touch it.
“No wonder they say choosing your parents is a skill.” Xu Moyu’s sarcasm kicked in. He placed his hand on Xue Li’s shoulder and said, “You’re out of luck this lifetime, but you can try your best to find yourself a wealthy dad in the next lifetime.”
Xue Li gave him a disdainful look. “Who are you looking down on? If I can’t be the son of a rich person, can’t I be a rich dad myself? Not to brag, but with our intelligence, we could at least make it into the top ten of Forbes’ World’s Billionaires list.”
“Indeed, with your intelligence, you’re just a tiny bit away from the World’s Billionaires list.” Xu Moyu patted his shoulder, refraining from bursting his dear friend’s daydream bubble.
“Right, when the time comes, invite Big Brother to be a consultant in the company, invest in a few movies for Xing’er, let him pick any role he wants. As for you…” Xue Li put his arm around his own, not looking directly at him, “how about being my secretary? It just so happens we need someone to pour tea and water.”
Xu Moyu rolled his eyes. “Get lost. Dream on!”
Xue Li widened his eyes. “Hey, don’t be ungrateful. Big Brother, you decide!”
Zhai Zilin shook his head and laughed. He was used to these two arguing every day.
Turning his head, he noticed Shen Yunxing lost in thought. Following his gaze, Zhai Zilin saw that he was looking at the luxury car from earlier.
However, Shen Yunxing wasn’t actually looking at the car but the person inside it.
The rear window was open, and he saw someone he found familiar through the car window. But before he could get a clear look, the car drove away.
Inside the car, Secretary Yang glanced at the rearview mirror.
Her boss had quite the discerning eye. That young boy had a fair complexion, a strikingly beautiful face. Not only that, his academic performance was excellent. He was only two points away from being the top scorer in the provincial college entrance exam!
He was planning to apply to a film academy, and with that appearance, could he not make it big in the entertainment industry? Her boss was quite generous.
In the back seat, Fu Tingzhou paid no attention to the inquisitive glances his secretary was sending his way. He was frowning, lost in thought, contemplating what to do with this kid.
While he was hesitating, he didn’t outright reject the boy’s advances. If it were someone scheming, it’d be simpler; he could give them money and send them on their way. But this boy was simple-minded, and despite knowing that those who could afford to stay on the 26th floor of the Norton Hotel weren’t ordinary, he didn’t seem to want to associate himself with them.
As he watched the figure of the young man gradually disappear, Fu Tingzhou’s mind was inexplicably filled with images of the boy huddled in his arms, his breath ragged like a kitten when it couldn’t bear any more.
The youth’s clear eyes and bright smile, a touch of pink at the corners, were captivating.
It was a stark contrast to his appearance from earlier.
Lost in thought, Fu Tingzhou suddenly stiffened. He shifted uncomfortably, his long legs encased in his suit pants.
…
Time flew by, and it was already July. Zhai Zilin, Xue Li, and Xu Moyu had all received their university acceptance letters, while Shen Yunxing had not.
The three of them comforted him in the group chat for several days, until the day before he joined the crew in mid-July, Shen Yunxing’s acceptance letter finally arrived, making its way into his hands.
“Top of the class. Xing’er, you’re amazing.” Shen Yunxing rubbed his little brother’s head and praised him with a smile.
Holding the acceptance letter, Shen’s mother was so excited she couldn’t find the right words.
“No need to worry. Our Xing’er is so outstanding. How could he not pass the exam?”
Shen’s father pretended not to care, shifting to the side to take a look at Shen’s mother, then sneakily took out his phone and snapped a picture.
A click sound, and Shen’s father’s face immediately froze.
The two brothers couldn’t hold back and almost burst into laughter.
Shen’s father quietly switched the phone to selfie mode, put his arm around Shen’s mother’s shoulder, and with an unchanging expression, said, “Why are you laughing? I’m taking a photo with my wife.”
And so, that night, Shen Yunxing saw these two photos in his father’s WeChat Moments.

A long line of comments followed from aunts and uncles, all praising Old Shen for raising his children well—one a professor and the other a future big star. It seemed the family was truly blessed.
Satisfied with showing off, Old Shen replied rather modestly: These two kids have been obedient since they were young, and they don’t need much discipline.
Implicitly, he was saying, “Admire us; it’s in our nature.”
Aunts and uncles: … Impressed by you, Bro Six!
After dinner, Shen’s mother packed luggage for her younger son.
Most of Shen Yunxing’s shots were taken on the mountain, and his mother was worried he might catch a cold. She stuffed two sweaters and two pairs of long johns into his suitcase, and when she felt that wasn’t enough, she directly pulled out a thin down jacket from the closet.
Shen Yunxing was somewhat amused and exasperated. “Mom, let’s skip the down jacket. It’s still summer right now.” Just looking at it made him feel hot.
“According to the weather forecast, it’ll be cooler in a couple of days. When you’re shooting in the mountains, be careful and bring one, just in case. Sweaters won’t block the wind, and it’s better to have a down jacket for extra protection.” Shen’s mother said with concern.
Shen Yunxing had always been an obedient child, and seeing his mother’s anxious expression, he couldn’t bring himself to refuse.
“Mrs. Shen, cheer up. In just half a year, you’ll be able to see your dearest younger son on TV.” He hugged Shen’s mother’s shoulder and playfully rubbed his head against her, just like he used to when he was a child.
“It’s a little late to be acting cute with Mom at your age.” Shen’s mother smiled and raised her hand to gently stroke his head.
“When you were little, you never traveled far from home. Mom is just a bit worried. When you go out, take care of yourself, get along well with your colleagues, don’t pick fights with anyone. But if someone bullies you, our family isn’t afraid of trouble. Don’t hesitate to fight back.”
Even the gentle mother would encourage her son to fight. Shen Yunxing was taken aback for a moment before he burst into laughter.
“Mom, have you been reading some random entertainment news again? Most of those are fake. The entertainment industry isn’t as bad as you think.”
“Do you remember Zhai Zilin? He’s the one who got me this opportunity this time, and the director is an elder of his. I’ll have to call him Uncle as well. So you can relax; I’ll be fine.”
No matter how much his mother worried, she couldn’t stop her son from pursuing his dreams. She pulled Shen Yunxing’s hand and reminded him a few more times.
The next day, with the entire family watching, Shen Yunxing left with his luggage. Besides him, there was another young man on the car, wearing a baseball cap. He appeared to be slightly younger than Shen Yunxing.
“Hello, you must be the ambitious Male Character Number Eighteen, right?” The young man flashed him a sunny smile, introducing himself, “I’m the actor for Male Character Number Seventeen, Lu Bai.”
After speaking, he looked at Shen Yunxing expectantly, using his eyes to signal: Brother, it’s your turn.
Shen Yunxing: “…Hello, I’m Shen Yunxing, the actor for Male Character Number Eighteen.”
Lu Bai furrowed his brows. “Not like that. You’re supposed to say, ‘Hello, I’m Shen Yunxing, the actor for Male Character Number Eighteen!'”
“…”
Sure, but it wasn’t necessary.
