Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 29
After dinner, Shen Yunxing, carrying a large sum of money, went shopping with Mr. Fu. Seeing their hands intertwined, his heart was bubbling with joy.
“Look, there are two guys holding hands and shopping together,” a girl pulled her companion, squealing excitedly. “The shorter one looks so delicate, and the taller one is so handsome!”
“No wonder I can’t find a quality handsome guy, they all have cute little partners already!” her companion wailed.
Fu Tingzhou noticed the boy zoning out and gently shook their clasped hands.
“What are you looking at?”
Shen Yunxing shook his head, the blush on his face not fading.
“Nothing. Mr. Fu, do you want to buy something?” He leaned closer to the man, hiding his face behind his body, a bit embarrassed. “Let’s buy it quickly and go back. People are watching me.”
Fu Tingzhou looked up and saw two young girls in front of them, excited yet shyly glancing their way. He gave them a friendly smile, then patted the boy’s black hair, smiling as he said, “October 1st is just in time for the Mid-Autumn Festival. Let’s pick out some gifts for Old Master Tang.”
“Old Master Tang?” Shen Yunxing looked up, puzzled.
Shouldn’t it be Old Master Fu?
“Yes, my parents passed away early, and Old Master Tang has always treated me like his own grandson, helping me a lot over the years,” Fu Tingzhou explained.
Hearing this, Shen Yunxing’s heart ached. He tightened his grip on the man’s hand and said seriously, “Mr. Fu, I’ll always be with you.”
“Even after having the baby, you won’t leave?” Fu Tingzhou asked with a smile.
Seeing the boy lower his head without saying a word, but his ears turning exceptionally red, his smile deepened.
“Let’s go, let’s buy something,” he said in a good mood.
“Okay.” Shen Yunxing nodded, following behind Mr. Fu like a puppet, his gaze wandering, not daring to meet the man’s eyes.
What did Mr. Fu’s words mean just now? Does Mr. Fu… like him too?
No, he can’t think about it anymore.
He shook his head, his face burning red, as the man led him into a clothing store.
“Here come two handsome guys!”
“Don’t fight me, you went last time, this time it’s my turn!”
“Fight for what? Can’t you see they’re holding hands?”
“Wow, really! They’re a couple!”
The two female shop assistants got even more excited seeing their hands tightly clasped, showing standard smiles with eight teeth, and greeted them warmly.
“Hello, gentlemen. Do you need any assistance?”
“We have many new arrivals in the store. Feel free to browse~”
Fu Tingzhou nodded, “No need, the kid at home is quite shy. We’ll just look around ourselves.”
“Alright, sir.” The shop assistant smiled properly. Once they turned around, she excitedly did a little tap dance with her companion.
“Mr. Fu, I already have a lot of clothes. There’s no need to buy more,” Shen Yunxing whispered into the man’s ear.
This store’s style wasn’t what Mr. Fu usually wore, but it was similar to what he wore. So, he guessed that Mr. Fu was going to buy him more clothes, but there were still many from the last time that he hadn’t worn.
Fu Tingzhou didn’t respond, pointing at a sweater and asked, “Do you like this one?”
Shen Yunxing nodded. The style was simple, and the color was his favorite, but he already had more clothes than he could wear.
Mr. Fu is too extravagant. Baby, you shouldn’t learn from him.
He touched his belly, murmuring in his heart.
Although Fu Tingzhou didn’t know what the boy was thinking, he could guess a bit from his facial expressions.
“The temperature has dropped these past few days, and you only brought back thin clothes. Since we have time today, let’s get you some thicker ones,” he said with a smile.
“But I have thick clothes at home.” Shen Yunxing blinked.
Fu Tingzhou’s gaze lingered for a moment on the boy’s small belly, hidden by his clothes, and said with a smile, “Are you sure those clothes still fit?”
Shen Yunxing lowered his head, glancing at his slightly bulging belly.
A three-month-old baby wasn’t very big, but he was so thin that his belly looked bigger than the average pregnant woman. Even if the previous clothes fit, they could easily expose his secret in front of his family.
Fu Tingzhou gently pushed the boy’s back, “Go in and try it on.”
Shen Yunxing nodded, his cheeks flushed as he took the clothes from the man and entered the fitting room.
Two minutes later, the boy with red lips and white teeth reappeared in front of Fu Tingzhou. The off-white sweater seemed to add a filter, making the boy look even more gentle and charming, making one want to hold him in their arms.
“You look great,” he said with a smile.
“Thank you.” Shen Yunxing beamed, fully accepting the man’s compliment.
“Mr. Fu, why don’t you pick one too? I received so many red envelopes for the baby today, I don’t think the baby would mind if we secretly spent some,” he said, showing a mischievous smile.
Fu Tingzhou found the boy’s animated expression both amusing and endearing. He smiled and agreed, satisfying Shen Yunxing’s little desire to spend the baby’s pocket money.
“Excuse me, could you please bring a larger size of this one he’s wearing?” he called to the shop assistant.
“Of course, please wait a moment.”
“Mr. Fu, this size fits me perfectly. Any bigger and it would be like a sack,” Shen Yunxing joked.
Fu Tingzhou laughed, “Didn’t you just say I should pick one too? Changing your mind so quickly?”
Shen Yunxing froze.
Mr. Fu choosing the same one as him… wouldn’t that mean… couple’s outfits?!
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but smile. He quickly nodded, “This one looks great. Mr. Fu will look incredibly handsome in it!”
For the next half hour, the two picked out another pair of “couple’s outfits.” At checkout, the shop assistant’s eyes were glued to them, unable to look away.
“Gentlemen, we have a special couple’s promotion today. If couples spend over 3,000, they can enter a raffle for prizes ranging from 100 to 10,000. If you’re lucky, you might even win a special mystery prize sponsored by our boss,” the shop assistant said sweetly.
Shen Yunxing was instantly intrigued by the mention of a couple’s promotion. But he and Mr. Fu weren’t a couple, though the temptation was too great. Blushing, he tugged on Mr. Fu’s sleeve before he could say anything.
“Mr. Fu, there’s a deal,” he whispered.
Afraid of being rejected, his heart pounded with nervousness and unease until the man squeezed his hand, giving tacit approval. His emotions quickly turned to joy and excitement.
“What’s the mystery prize?” he asked, blushing.
The shop assistant replied, “Our store manager sponsored it, so we don’t know either.”
Shen Yunxing nodded. The prize didn’t matter; he was there for the “couple’s promotion,” not the prize.
Thinking this, he reached into the box and pulled out a colorful ball.
“Pop—”
At some point, the two shop assistants had grabbed party poppers, showering the two of them with confetti.
“Congratulations, gentlemen! You’ve won the special mystery prize sponsored by our store manager!”
Shen Yunxing, his head covered in colorful streamers, was still in a daze when a palm-sized gift box was thrust into his arms.
“The mystery prize must be opened at home. This is the manager’s advice for the lucky winners,” the shop assistant instructed.
Shen Yunxing nodded obediently, holding the gift box.
The most valuable thing he’d ever won before was a 1.5 yuan children’s ring. This was the first time he’d won a mystery prize, and his hands trembled with excitement.
Back in the car, Fu Tingzhou saw the boy holding the gift box without any intention of opening it. Just as he was about to ask, Shen Yunxing extended the prize to him.
“Mr. Fu, I have bad luck. You open it,” Shen Yunxing said, blushing.
“A couple’s promotion” – it wouldn’t be right if only he participated.
Fu Tingzhou didn’t refuse. He smiled and said, “Okay,” then took the gift box. Under the boy’s expectant gaze, he opened it.
“What is the prize?” Shen Yunxing stretched his neck, looking curious.
Just as they were about to see what was inside, Mr. Fu snapped the gift box shut with a “snap.”
“It’s a secret. I’ll tell you when we get back,” Fu Tingzhou said, placing the box out of the boy’s reach. Thinking about what was inside, his Adam’s apple bobbed involuntarily.
Shen Yunxing stared at the man suspiciously for a few seconds. Seeing that he was determined not to let him see, his curiosity grew even stronger.
What on earth was inside that made Mr. Fu act so strangely?
“Shall I take you home?” Fu Tingzhou asked.
Shen Yunxing lowered his head without a word. After a moment, he quietly said, “I haven’t seen the prize yet.”
Fu Tingzhou’s lips curved slightly as he drove back to his residence in the Xinlan Villa District.
Half an hour later.
“Mr. Fu, you’re back. A young man with the surname Fu came looking for you the other day. I told him you weren’t home, but he didn’t believe me and almost forced his way into your house,” the security guard said worriedly. “Mr. Fu, you should check if anything is missing. If there is, you might need to call the police!”
Hearing “a young man with the surname Fu,” Fu Tingzhou guessed who it was. His expression turned cold for a moment, then returned to normal as he said, “Thank you, but that’s not necessary. Next time he comes, don’t say too much to him, just keep him out at the gate.”
“Will do.”
This young man with the surname Fu—was he related to Mr. Fu?
Shen Yunxing followed behind the man, lost in thought.
“We’re home.” Only a few steps and he was already daydreaming. Fu Tingzhou shook his head helplessly.
“Huh? Oh.” Shen Yunxing snapped out of it, standing at the entrance and surveying Mr. Fu’s home.
It was just as he imagined: the decor was so minimalist it was almost frightening, making it look like it wasn’t lived in regularly.
“This place is quite far from my office, so I rarely come here. But it’s very close to where you live, only a half-hour drive,” Fu Tingzhou explained.
Shen Yunxing nodded, slipping into the little bunny slippers the man handed him, his ears turning red as he sat on the sofa.
“Rest for a bit. I’ll get you something to drink.”
“Thank you, Mr. Fu.”
Seeing the boy was a bit nervous, Fu Tingzhou found the remote and put on “Tom and Jerry” for him, then calmly walked into the bedroom under Shen Yunxing’s surprised gaze.
Shen Yunxing: “…”
Do I really look that childish?
However, a moment later…
“Tom is so unlucky, hahaha—”
After watching two episodes, he finally relaxed a bit. Remembering why he came, he took out a photo album from his backpack and spread it open on his lap.
“These were taken when I was in elementary school.”
Mr. Fu’s voice sounded behind him. Shen Yunxing’s eyes lit up, and he pointed at a little girl with braids next to Mr. Fu, unsure. “Is this little girl Tang Ge?”
Fu Tingzhou laughed, “Yes, that’s him. He lost a bet with me and had to choose between getting close to our dog or dressing up as a girl. He chose the latter.”
“Who’s Wang Cai?”
“He’s a little mutt owned by Grandpa Tang’s neighbor. Only two months old, and every time he sees Tang Che, he chases him and tries to bite his butt.”
Imagining the scene, Shen Yunxing squinted his eyes and laughed. “So Tang Ge is afraid of dogs.”
“Mr. Fu, were you this naughty when you were a kid?” he asked, pointing to another photo.
In the photo, Mr. Fu was standing calmly under a banyan tree, looking at someone making faces at him from a tree branch. The person on the branch didn’t notice that young Mr. Fu was holding a stick, just a palm’s width away from touching a beehive next to him.
Fu Tingzhou shrugged. “Not my fault. Tang Che wrote a love letter to every girl in the class on Valentine’s Day, but signed my name at the end.”
“Hahaha—why is Tang Ge so mischievous? What happened next? Did the girls all come to find you?”
“No, I told Grandpa Tang, and Tang Che got a spanking. The next day, he had to be helped to school by the nanny.”
“Hahaha—”
After going through two albums, Shen Yunxing noticed that Mr. Fu’s parents never appeared in the photos, and it seemed he stopped taking pictures after starting university.
He didn’t mention this, but after putting the album back in his backpack, he asked about the mysterious prize he had won earlier.
“A pair of cufflinks?” He took the gift box from the man, looking puzzled.
Fu Tingzhou nodded, maintaining a calm expression. “Crafted by a famous foreign designer, valued at 120,000.”
Shen Yunxing’s eyes widened immediately.
120,000! He had spent nearly 10,000 on clothes, which means he still made a profit of 110,000!
“So happy?” Fu Tingzhou asked with a smile.
“Of course, this is the first time I’ve won such a valuable prize!” Shen Yunxing said excitedly, clutching the cufflinks.
However, he didn’t know that Fu Tingzhou had already swapped the prize behind his back. The real prize was locked in Fu Tingzhou’s bedside table, waiting for the right moment to make an appearance, depending on how their relationship progressed.
After the excitement wore off, Shen Yunxing started to feel drowsy. He clutched the cufflinks, his head nodding off like a pecking chicken.
Seeing this, Fu Tingzhou found it quite amusing. Worried that the boy might bump his chin on the coffee table, he gently supported Shen Yunxing’s shoulder and said softly, “Go take a nap.”
Too sleepy to keep his eyes open, Shen Yunxing instinctively tugged on the man’s sleeve and murmured, “Mr. Fu, come with me.”
The boy’s soft demeanor melted Fu Tingzhou’s heart. He couldn’t bear to refuse.
“Alright.”
Shen Yunxing rubbed his eyes and followed the man into the bedroom. After lifting the blanket and lying down obediently, he fought off sleep and blinked at the man standing by the bed.
Planning to put the boy to sleep before heading to the study to work, Fu Tingzhou couldn’t help but laugh and shake his head.
He lifted the blanket and lay down beside the boy. As soon as he lay down, Shen Yunxing snuggled up to him with his eyes closed.
It seemed that work was not an option today.
He patted the boy’s back, a tender and amused smile spreading across his face.
Half an hour later, Shen Yunxing woke up feeling thirsty. He carefully slipped out of Fu Tingzhou’s arms, reached for the water on the bedside table, drank it, and quietly returned to his original position.
Is Mr. Fu asleep?
He stared at the man’s long, thick eyelashes, his gaze moving over the prominent nose and finally stopping at the pink lips.
After a moment, he swallowed nervously, thinking: Stealing a kiss shouldn’t wake him up, right?
