Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 32
“Not sleeping?” Shen Yunshu asked, a bit puzzled that his usually sleepy brother wasn’t tired.
Shen Yunxing glanced back at the black car that was one parking space behind them, a slight smile on his lips.
“Mm, not sleepy.”
Just the thought of Mr. Fu following him around kept him too excited to sleep.
“Xiao Xing’er, did you tell your friend about dinner at Liuchun Garden tonight?” Shen’s mother asked.
“Yes, I told him. He’ll be there on time.”
“That’s good.”
After another half hour of driving, Shen Yunxing suddenly felt a bit hungry and started munching on some snacks.
“Brother, is there another rest area ahead? I need to use the restroom.” He asked while eating.
“Yes.”
So, twenty minutes later, he “accidentally” ran into Mr. Fu again at the rest area.
“Are you alright? Is there anywhere you’re feeling uncomfortable?” Fu Tingzhou asked.
The man grabbed his wrist, his warm hand pressing against his stomach, which somehow gave him a sense of satisfaction.
Shen Yunxing shook his head and moved closer to the man.
“Mr. Fu, it’s the baby that misses you.” I miss you too. I don’t want to be apart from you, not even for a minute.
The boy’s dependent look and actions moved Fu Tingzhou’s heart. He gently stroked the boy’s black hair and teased, “I didn’t expect our baby to be such a clingy little one, can’t be away from people even for a moment.”
Shen Yunxing caught the implication in the man’s words, and his face turned beet red.
“Mr. Fu, I need to go back.”
He turned to leave but forgot that the man was still holding his wrist. Just as he took a half step, he was pulled back into the man’s arms.
“I’m not teasing you.” Fu Tingzhou patted the boy’s back, his eyes filled with genuine amusement, and his voice extremely gentle.
Shen Yunxing buried his head in the man’s chest. After only a brief hesitation, he raised his hands and hugged the man’s waist tightly.
“Mom, don’t worry. Yunxing is grown up; he won’t get lost.”
Shen Yunshu’s voice came from a distance, getting closer. Shen Yunxing was startled and quickly pushed the man away, pretending they had just run into each other. He said, “Mr. Fu, what a coincidence! Are you here to use the restroom too?”
Ah, what a lame excuse, how could you come up with that!
His ears turned red with embarrassment. Before his brother could come over, he raised his hand and fanned his flushed face quickly.
Hearing his brother’s voice, Shen Yunshu walked over and saw his little brother standing face-to-face with a stranger.
“Yunxing, who is this?” He asked while discreetly sizing up the man.
The man was dressed in tailored clothes, with cufflinks and a watch that looked quite valuable.
“Brother, this is Mr. Fu Tingzhou, a relative of a friend. He was the one who helped arrange Tingting’s heart surgery.”
Shen Yunxing had become quite adept at lying without blushing. After the introduction, he turned to Fu Tingzhou and said, “Mr. Fu, this is my brother, Shen Yunshu.”
Fu Tingzhou nodded and extended his right hand, “Hello, Mr. Shen.”
“So, it’s Mr. Fu.” Shen Yunshu shook the man’s hand and expressed his gratitude, “Thank you so much for your help with my cousin’s surgery.”
“No need to be so polite.”
“May I ask what you do for a living, Mr. Fu?”
“I just run a small business.”
“Mr. Fu, you’re too modest.” Shen Yunshu smiled insincerely.
Does he think I’m stupid? Just running a small business, yet knowing top experts in heart surgery? And why does this Mr. Fu’s voice sound so familiar, like I’ve heard it somewhere before?
Shen Yunxing saw his brother interrogating Mr. Fu as if he were a criminal. His palms were sweaty from anxiety. Turning to look at Mr. Fu, the man’s expression remained unchanged, handling his brother’s questions with ease.
As expected of Mr. Fu, caught almost in the act by a brother-in-law and still so calm!
But his brother, like their mother, was perceptive. If this continued, it might cause problems. So he tugged at his brother’s sleeve and whispered, “Brother, Mom and Dad are probably getting anxious. Let’s save the thanks for dinner tonight.”
Shen Yunshu, although suspicious, agreed that talking to their “benefactor” in a rest area wasn’t ideal, especially with the restroom just a few steps away. So, he followed his brother’s suggestion and politely said goodbye to the man.
“Goodbye, Mr. Fu!” Shen Yunxing habitually waved at the man, then hurriedly dragged his older brother away.
Shen Yunshu listened to his brother casually saying goodbye to the man and frowned slightly.
“Yunxing, are you very familiar with Mr. Fu?”
Shen Yunxing paused and stammered, “Not really familiar, just met a few times.”
“Really?” Shen Yunshu stared at the back of his brother’s head and asked again, “Didn’t you say your friend’s relative was a construction worker?”
“Huh? Did I? Brother, you must have heard wrong.”
Shen Yunxing thought: As long as I don’t admit it, you can’t do anything about it.
In fact, Shen Yunshu really couldn’t do anything because he wasn’t sure if he had heard wrong. He could only let his little brother brush this off.
For the rest of the journey, Shen Yunxing behaved himself, stopped eating snacks, and didn’t look back. He covered himself with a small blanket and slept all the way to the neighborhood gate.
…
At five in the afternoon, the family drove to Liuchun Garden.
“Why haven’t Yuhua and the others arrived yet?” Shen’s mother frowned.
They had agreed to meet at the entrance, but now there wasn’t a person in sight. Both Shen’s father and mother were looking a bit displeased.
After all, this wasn’t their family’s business. Helping out to this extent was already going above and beyond. They couldn’t be expected to convey the gratitude on behalf of others, which would make them a laughingstock!
“I called Aunt, she said there was no one to take care of Tingting, so they’ll be a bit late,” Shen Yushu said after hanging up the phone.
Shen Yunxing was puzzled, “How could there be no one to take care of her? Didn’t cousin come?”
“It’s not about having no one to take care of her, it’s obviously because she’s afraid we’ll ask her to pay.” Shen’s mother said.
She had already paid tens of thousands for the surgery, so how could she care about the cost of a meal? If Shen Yuhua was the type to repay kindness, even if she took advantage a bit, it would be tolerable. It wouldn’t escalate to the point of falling out.
But compared to her elder brother Shen Hong’an, she was worlds apart.
“Let’s go inside first, we can’t keep our guests waiting.” Shen’s father said.
Shen Yunxing deliberately walked last and secretly sent a message to Mr. Fu.
**[Yunxing]: Mr. Fu, have you arrived?**
The reply came instantly.
**[Mr. Fu]: Almost there.**
**[Yunxing]: Okay, I’ll wait for you upstairs.**
The family waited in the private room for about five minutes before today’s main guests arrived.
“Uncle, Aunt, and Brother Yunshu, long time no see.” The stand-in Zhai Zilin greeted them enthusiastically and then introduced the two people beside him.
“This is my uncle Fu Tingzhou, and this is my uncle’s friend, the deputy director at the Central Hospital. You’ve met him before.”
“Fu Tingzhou? Why does that name sound so familiar?” Shen’s father muttered quietly. Shen’s mother kicked his foot under the table before he began the formalities.
“Uncle and Aunt, Zilin and Yunxing are friends, so there’s no need to be so formal. You can call me Xiao Fu or Tingzhou.” Fu Tingzhou said with a smile, his tone exceptionally approachable, which made Liu Huaijin click his tongue in admiration.
“Tingzhou is right, we’re all family here. Uncle, Aunt, you can call me Huaijin.”
Before Shen’s father could respond, Shen Yuhua arrived late with her husband.
“Sorry for being late, we’ll punish ourselves with three drinks first.” Zhang Sheng said, picking up a wine glass and downing it in one go.
Shen’s mother frowned but didn’t want to spoil the atmosphere, so she held back.
After a brief introduction, Zhang Sheng raised his glass to Fu Tingzhou and his companion, saying, “Thank you both for Tingting’s matter. You must accept this drink.”
“You’re too kind,” Fu Tingzhou replied with a smile.
Zhang Sheng, being adept at social drinking, had already toasted several rounds of wine before even exchanging a few words.
Shen Yunxing, worried about Mr. Fu getting drunk, kept glancing over at him.
“Zilin, I heard before that your uncle owns his own company?” Shen’s father said, “One running a company and the other being a deputy director at a hospital. Truly impressive.”
“You flatter me,” Fu Tingzhou replied with a smile.
“By the way, Xiao Fu, do you know about the stock market? I want to make some investments these days, but I don’t know where to invest.” Shen’s father, not a heavy drinker, was already calling Xiao Fu and Xiao Liu nonstop after two drinks.
“I have some understanding. Fengshang Pharmaceuticals and Jiancheng Manufacturing are both good. The former is an established brand, and the latter, though a new industry, has a great development outlook.”
“Really? Then I’ll follow your advice and invest in Fengshang and Jiancheng. If I make a profit, I’ll treat you to a big meal!” Shen’s father said heartily.
The latter smiled and replied, “Sure.”
Sure? Not at all.
Shen Yunxing poked at his bowl of food, feeling very depressed.
He considered Mr. Fu as his boyfriend, but Mr. Fu seemed to want to be his uncle.
He glanced at the man and didn’t find an opportunity to speak to him until the meal ended.
“Brother Fu, although I’m twenty years older than you, I felt a sense of familiarity the moment I heard your name. There’s a saying for this…” Before parting, Shen’s father, drunkenly patting Fu Tingzhou’s shoulder, said, “Oh right, instant familiarity! I feel an instant familiarity with you, brother!”
Fu Tingzhou smiled, “I feel the same way about you as I do about my father. You give off a very close feeling.”
“Pfft—”
Liu Huaijin couldn’t hold back his laughter, silently cursing him for taking advantage of his father-in-law.
On the way back, Shen Yunxing, still worried, texted the man on his phone.
**[Yunxing]: Mr. Fu, you drank a lot of alcohol just now. Don’t forget to drink some hangover soup when you get back, or you’ll have a headache tomorrow.
**[Mr. Fu]: Okay, you rest well too. See you tomorrow.
**[Mr. Fu]: [pat head]
Seeing the emoji sent by the man, Shen Yunxing’s lips slowly curved into a smile.
Mr. Fu never used emojis before. He used to send yellow face emojis, acting like an old cadre.
Speaking of which, when he first met Mr. Fu, he found him particularly difficult to get along with. Wearing a neat suit without a single wrinkle, he looked like a rigid old-fashioned man.
Unexpectedly, in just a few months, not only did he have Mr. Fu’s baby, but they were also living together. Most importantly, he had fallen for Mr. Fu.
It just goes to show that first impressions can be misleading. Mr. Fu not only cooked well but also knew how to cheer people up. He was a very gentle person.
He stared at the scenery outside the car window, silently counting all the good things Mr. Fu had done for him. With each count, his affection for Mr. Fu deepened.
At night, Shen Yunxing ran to the bathroom and vomited violently. His morning sickness hadn’t lessened but had worsened, making him vomit almost every night. Dr. Liu said this was normal, so to avoid worrying Mr. Fu, he hadn’t told him.
But strangely, he didn’t vomit the night he slept with Mr. Fu.
The next morning, he went downstairs with dark circles under his eyes, startling his mother.
“Didn’t sleep well last night?”
Shen Yunxing nodded, “Mom, I’m skipping breakfast and going out with a classmate to eat.”
“Okay, go ahead.”
Fu Tingzhou was sitting in the car and saw the boy yawning as he came out of the neighborhood, his brows slightly furrowed.
“Good morning, Mr. Fu.” Shen Yunxing opened the car door and greeted the man.
“You don’t look well. Did you vomit again last night?” he asked.
Shen Yunxing blinked and, facing the man’s concerned gaze, obediently nodded.
“Dr. Liu said it’s normal. Plus, I only vomited once last night, and my stomach doesn’t feel uncomfortable.”
Fu Tingzhou gently touched the corner of the boy’s reddened eye and looked at his slightly pale face, his heart aching.
“In the future, no matter what happens, don’t hide it from me, okay?”
Mr. Fu’s gaze was so tender that Shen Yunxing’s cheeks flushed after just a moment of eye contact.
“I got it,” he said, touching his nose.
Fu Tingzhou had an online meeting at ten in the morning. After breakfast, Shen Yunxing followed him back to Xinlan Villa.
While Fu Tingzhou was in the study for his meeting, Shen Yunxing sat in the living room, snacking and watching dramas, occasionally checking Weibo for reviews and fan messages about his web drama.
That morning, his Weibo followers surpassed 500,000, something he hadn’t anticipated. While he was happy, it also made him raise his standards for himself.
**[You slipped up, there’s a guy in a suit behind the tree]**
**[Sister, are you Sherlock Holmes? I had to rewind three times to see it!]**
**[Why do I feel like the guy in the suit looks a lot like Fu Tingzhou, the president of Fu Group?!]**
**[Damn, at first I didn’t think so, but after rewinding, he really does look like President Fu!]**
Reading these comments, Shen Yunxing was momentarily stunned.
After rewinding and looking, he indeed saw half of Mr. Fu’s body hidden behind the tree at the 3:40 mark.
He smiled.
How amazing, he had already shared a frame with Mr. Fu before he knew it.

Shen Yunxing (expressionless): Uncle Fu.
