Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 46
As the weather grew colder, by the end of October, Shen Yunxing was already wearing the new sweater Mr. Fu had bought for him. As the baby grew, his old clothes, although still wearable, made his belly too obvious, so he had been wearing loose-fitting clothes to avoid being noticed.
After spending a few more days at home doing nothing, it was time to go with Mr. Fu to meet his parents.
On this day, Shen Yunxing got up early, washed up, and stood in front of the wardrobe, going through his clothes one by one but couldn’t find anything suitable.
He was going to meet Mr. Fu’s parents, and to show his respect, he should dress more formally. However, apart from sportswear and casual clothes, his wardrobe was empty of anything suitable. Compared to Mr. Fu’s shirts and suits, he looked like a child next to him.
Fu Tingzhou came upstairs to call the young man for breakfast. When he opened the door, he saw the young man standing in front of the mirror, sighing as he looked at himself.
“This outfit is very cute,” he said with a smile as he walked over to the young man.
Shen Yunxing looked down at his hoodie with cartoon patterns and said sullenly, “But isn’t this a bit too casual?”
“It’s just a family gathering, no need to be so formal.” To comfort the young man, Fu Tingzhou picked a matching hoodie and pants from the wardrobe and changed in front of him without a second thought.
Shen Yunxing was stunned for a moment, then his eyes widened slightly. His gaze followed the man’s hands as he unbuttoned his shirt, taking in his eight-pack abs and the line of his muscles. He swallowed hard and wanted to continue looking, but the man suddenly stopped.
“Looking any further will cost you,” Fu Tingzhou teased.
“Who wants to look!” Shen Yunxing said, his cheeks flushing. He turned to face the sea outside the window to calm himself. The sight of Mr. Fu in the mirror made his cheeks burn even more.
Mr. Fu’s…was really big. He had never seen anyone else’s, so he couldn’t compare, but it was much bigger than his.
He couldn’t quite remember that night, but he vaguely recalled it felt really good. Now, with the baby, he couldn’t exert himself too much, but after the baby was born…
Shen Yunxing, what nonsense are you thinking about!
He covered his cheeks, feeling the heat spread from his ears down to his neck.
Suddenly, someone touched the tip of his ear, and then he heard the man’s laughing voice.
“Your ears are so red.”
“I’m so hungry. Mr. Fu, let’s go downstairs and eat,” he said, his face completely red. Without waiting for a response, he hurried downstairs.
Watching the young man flee in panic, Fu Tingzhou smiled.
After breakfast, they packed up, took the gift prepared for Old Master Tang, and left.
The journey back was nearly three hours. Shen Yunxing closed his eyes and fell asleep within ten minutes of getting in the car.
During a red light, Fu Tingzhou took a small blanket from the back seat and covered the young man, adjusted the seat to a comfortable position, and smiled when he saw the young man’s frown relax.
Two hours later, Shen Yunxing woke up, rubbing his eyes as the car approached the foot of Wucheng Mountain.
“Mr. Fu, are we there?” he asked.
“Awake? There’s water in the back seat, have some,” Fu Tingzhou said, glancing at him. “We’ll be there in five minutes.”
Shen Yunxing nodded.
A few minutes later, the car drove into a farmstay. Shen Yunxing curled his fingers nervously.
“Let’s go, we’re home,” Fu Tingzhou said as he got out, carrying the gift and holding Shen Yunxing’s hand.
With Mr. Fu by his side, he felt less nervous. As they entered the farmstay, an elderly but spirited voice called out from the yard.
“Finally, I just wanted to see my grandson-in-law, and it took so much coaxing. You’re just like that rascal Tang Che, always making me worry,” Old Master Tang said, glaring at Fu Tingzhou.
When he turned to Shen Yunxing, his attitude did a complete 180. “This must be Yunxing. What a fine-looking child, you’ll surely be famous.”
Shen Yunxing was a bit nervous, but seeing the obvious favoritism, he couldn’t help but laugh.
“Hello, Grandpa Tang,” he said sweetly.
“Oh, good, good! What a lovable child, much better than you and Tang Che,” the old man said, glancing at Fu Tingzhou.
Fu Tingzhou shook his head with a smile.
Before the young man arrived, he was the favored one, but within two minutes, he was already on the same level as Tang Che.
“Grandpa, your favoritism is too obvious,” he said with a smile.
“You’ll get used to it,” Tang Che, who was standing with his arms crossed, said. “It’s karma. Now you know how I used to feel.”
“Enough talking, go make dinner. If my grandson-in-law goes hungry, you’ll be in trouble!” the old man glared.
“Me, cook?” Tang Che pointed at himself, incredulous. “I could try, but do you dare eat it?”
The old man thought about it. Given Tang Che’s terrible cooking skills, it could be dangerous for his beloved grandson-in-law. So, he waved his hand and sent Fu Tingzhou to help.
“You go too. If you don’t know how, look it up online. How can you take care of my grandson-in-law if you can’t even cook?”
“Grandpa, Mr. Fu’s cooking is delicious,” Shen Yunxing said, defending his man.
“Really? When did you learn to cook, brat?” the old man asked, stroking his beard, suspicious.
“Grandpa, let Yunxing keep you company while Tang Che and I cook,” Fu Tingzhou suggested, understanding the old man’s intent.
“Hey, stop calling me that nickname in front of Yunxing, it’s embarrassing,” Tang Che grumbled as he was pushed into the kitchen.
“Grandpa, let me help you sit,” Shen Yunxing said.
Although the old man was in better health than most his age, he was still elderly. Shen Yunxing had noticed that his left leg was trembling slightly.
“Such a considerate child,” the old man said, patting his hand.
He was extremely satisfied with his grandson-in-law. The only dissatisfaction was that he looked a bit too young, but of course, the one who was dissatisfied was Fu Tingzhou. He himself was very satisfied with the child in front of him.
Shen Yunxing didn’t notice the old man’s expression. His attention was entirely on the old man’s slightly immobile leg.
It was cloudy today, and the weather forecast said there would be rain in the afternoon. Before coming here, he had heard from Mr. Fu that Old Master Tang was in good health and had no illnesses. So, apart from rheumatism, it was very likely that the old man had once been injured.
“Child, if you have something to say, just say it. Don’t be afraid that grandpa will get angry,” the old man encouraged when he saw Shen Yunxing hesitating.
“Grandpa, did your left leg get injured before?” Shen Yunxing hesitated for a moment before asking.
“How did you know?” The old man was a bit surprised. His left leg had indeed been injured when he was younger, and even his own grandson didn’t know about it. How did this child know?
“My dad’s leg was injured before too. It hurt badly on rainy days, sometimes so much that he couldn’t move,” Shen Yunxing explained. “Your current condition is similar to how his was at the beginning.”
The old man nodded. “I see. You’re quite perceptive for a youngster.”
Shen Yunxing shyly touched the tip of his nose.
“How is your father’s health now?” the old man asked.
“After taking traditional Chinese medicine for over six months, he’s much better now. It hardly hurts anymore. Grandpa, next time I come, I’ll bring you some to try. This medicine is a family secret from my grandma’s side, not available outside.”
“Oh? That’s great. My leg isn’t that bad, but it affects my mood a lot. When my mood is bad, I tend to lose at chess. Old Li will be so smug then.”
The mention of chess invigorated the old man.
“Yunxing, do you play chess?”
“Go or Chinese chess?”
The old man stroked his beard with an air of mystery. “Gomoku.”
Shen Yunxing: “…”
It turned out to be Gomoku, a game he did know how to play, so he nodded.
“I can play.”
“Good, come play a round with this old man.”
Ten minutes later.
“Enough, I don’t want to play anymore. I’m not in the mood today.” The old man, who had lost ten games in a row, looked upset.
Shen Yunxing, who had been holding back his skill, was on the verge of tears. He hadn’t expected the old man to be so bad at Gomoku.
Fu Tingzhou came in with a plate of fruit and laughed when he saw the unhappy faces of the old and the young.
“Mr. Fu,” Shen Yunxing looked up at the man with a pitiful tone.
“It’s okay, the old man isn’t angry at you, he’s angry at himself,” Fu Tingzhou reassured as he ruffled the young man’s short hair. Then he turned to comfort the old man. “Grandpa, you should stick to Go. Gomoku isn’t for you.”
The old man huffed and ignored him, turning instead to talk to his dear grandson-in-law.
“Yunxing, come upstairs with grandpa.”
Shen Yunxing was taken aback. Was it time for the private conversation?
He instinctively glanced at Mr. Fu, who gave him an encouraging look, and his nervousness and anxiety dissipated.
“Okay,” he nodded and followed the old man to the second floor.
They entered the study, where the old man took out an old but exquisite wooden box from a drawer and handed it to him. Shen Yunxing’s confusion turned to surprise.
“Grandpa, what’s this?”
“This is a family heirloom of the Tang family. You must take good care of it. In the future, you can pass it on to my… uh, just take good care of it,” the old man said, swallowing the words “great-grandchild” as he remembered his grandson-in-law couldn’t have children.
A family heirloom? For a moment, Shen Yunxing felt the box in his hands weigh a thousand pounds, afraid of damaging it.
“Grandpa, I can’t accept this. It’s too valuable,” he refused.
Such a precious item should be given to Tang Ge’s future wife.
Having battled in the business world for decades, the old man could easily see through the simple child’s thoughts.
“You’re too pure, child. This isn’t a family heirloom, just a token of my affection. Tang Che has one too, and this one is for you,” the old man said generously. “I don’t have much to give you, just a few property deeds and some jewelry.”
“The jewelry is from your grandmother. If you don’t like it, you can exchange it for gold and silver. Nowadays, young people like to wear big gold chains, right? We have plenty of those.”
“Child, what’s wrong? Don’t scare grandpa!”
