- Chapter 48 - Have You Kissed Enough?
Half an hour later—
“Good grandson, would you like an apple?”
“Thank you, Grandpa. I ate too much earlier and I’m not hungry right now,” Shen Yunxing said obediently.
“Then how about some milk? It’s from the cows at your grandpa Li’s place—nutritious and healthy.”
Having already refused once, Shen Yunxing didn’t want to refuse again, so he took it and took a small sip.
“It’s very good,” he nodded.
The old man, with a smile and his beard stroked, said, “I’m glad you like it. When you go back, Grandpa will send you a few boxes.”
Seeing the boy’s pleading look, Fu Tingzhou naturally took the milk from his hands and drank it all.
Old Master Tang, in a good mood, pretended not to see and turned to his own grandson with a stern look.
“What are you standing there for? Did you wash the dishes? Did you wipe the table?”
Tang Che, sitting on the single sofa and observing the three people on the sofa, twitched his mouth.
So, I’m the only outsider here →-→.
“Old Emperor, don’t be angry. I’ll wash the dishes right away,” Tang Che said.
The old man didn’t like having people wait on him, so there wasn’t even a housekeeper in the house—just an aunt who cooked and cleaned. But for today’s family gathering, she wasn’t invited.
“Xiao Ting, why are you still standing there? The Old Emperor has spoken, so hurry up and go wash the dishes,” Tang Che said as he stood up.
The old man raised his cane as if to hit him.
“Go by yourself. Tingzhou still needs to take care of my good grandson. Why are you asking him to do it!”
Tang Che, who thought his status was on par with his friends, felt cold indifference.
Shen Yunxing had a habit of taking afternoon naps. After sitting in the car for several hours in the morning, his eyelids were already drooping.
“Take him upstairs to sleep for a while,” the old man said. “Stay here tonight and leave tomorrow morning.”
“Okay.” Fu Tingzhou nodded, took the boy’s hand, and led him to his room.
“Mr. Fu, do you often stay here?” Shen Yunxing asked, looking at the familiar furnishings in the room.
Fu Tingzhou covered the boy with a blanket and said softly, “Occasionally.”
The old man treated him like a real grandson, reserving a room in every property and decorating it according to his preferences so that he could have a good sleep when he visited.
Shen Yunxing nodded and, seeing the man sitting by the bed without any intention of lying down, blinked and asked, “Mr. Fu, aren’t you going to sleep?”
“I have some things to take care of,” Fu Tingzhou said, touching the boy’s face. “Sleep first. I’ll leave after you fall asleep.”
“Okay.” Shen Yunxing reached out and held the man’s long fingers, closing his eyes contentedly.
Ten minutes later, having coaxed the boy to sleep, Fu Tingzhou quietly got up and went to the old man’s study.
Old Master Tang was reading the newspaper. Hearing the door open, he didn’t even look up.
“Yunxing is asleep?”
Fu Tingzhou walked over and sat down across from the old man. “He’s asleep.”
With that, the room was filled only with the occasional rustling of the newspaper.
Five minutes later, Old Master Tang finally finished reading the newspaper.
“Have you met Yunxing’s parents?”
“No.”
“No? They don’t even know about your marriage?” The baby’s situation was likely unknown to them too.
The old man was truly angry now.
“Tingzhou, this is unlike your usual style. You’ve always been meticulous and reliable, so how could you be so irresponsible now?” The old man’s face darkened as he asked sternly.
Fu Tingzhou looked at him. “Yunxing is physically weak. Although he has recovered somewhat recently, I won’t gamble with his health. Once Yunxing’s health is fully restored, I will personally visit Shen’s parents to apologize.”
“A delay this long—aren’t you afraid they’ll kick you out of the Shen family?” The old man snorted coldly.
“Regardless of what they do, I accept it. But I won’t give up. Yunxing and the baby can only stay with me.”
The old man glanced at him.
Although his words were domineering, they showed some responsibility.
“Just make sure you know what you’re doing. By the way, why haven’t I seen Dr. Liu lately? Did Tangtang have another argument with someone?”
“Grandpa, you’d better ask the parties involved. I’m not very clear on their issues.”
“Alright, go be with Yunxing. Not a single one of you is easy to deal with.” Seeing he couldn’t get more information, the old man waved him off.
Fu Tingzhou nodded, and as he left the study, he was pulled aside by Tang Che.
“How’s it going? Did the old man give you a hard time?” Tang Che asked, pursing his lips.
“No.” Fu Tingzhou glanced at him. “That’s not what you want to ask, is it?”
“Not really. I’m just concerned about you. Besides Yunxing, did he mention anything else? Like someone else, maybe?” Tang Che said, scratching his nose and avoiding eye contact.
Fu Tingzhou stopped teasing him, patted his shoulder, and said, “Don’t keep Hua Jin waiting. If you don’t plan to be with him, let him go.”
Tang Che frowned but still casually replied, “When did I make him wait? He’s the one clinging to me, okay?”
He then covered his chest, his brows furrowing deeper.
Why does my heart hurt?
“Think about it carefully. I’m going to check on Yunxing.”
With that, Fu Tingzhou returned to his own room.
In the room, the boy was sleeping with his face flushed red under the blanket, looking a bit silly with his mouth slightly open.
Fu Tingzhou smiled and felt his heart soften instantly.
Shen Yunxing woke up in the man’s arms, blinking and grinning at Mr. Fu’s high nose bridge.
After a moment, somewhat dissatisfied, he snuggled closer in Mr. Fu’s arms, tilting his chin and pecking at the man’s chin like a chick pecking at grains.
“Have you kissed enough?” Fu Tingzhou said with a light laugh as Shen Yunxing stopped.
Each time Shen Yunxing stole a kiss, Fu Tingzhou caught him in the act. Shen Yunxing had grown used to it by now. Even when caught by the man, he was no longer as shy and awkward as he used to be, wanting to hide in a crack in the ground.
He planted a kiss on the man’s cheek and said with a smile, “Not yet.”
“Then keep going.”
Fu Tingzhou laughed and, with one arm around the boy’s waist and the other hand cradling the back of his head, kissed those pink lips.
“Hmm…”
Shen Yunxing placed his hands on the man’s chest, his cheeks quickly turning a faint red.
Five minutes later, Fu Tingzhou released him.
“Not bad, you’ve learned to breathe,” he teased with a smile.
“Mr. Fu, you’re a good teacher,” Shen Yunxing said, ears flushed, unwilling to be outdone.
Fu Tingzhou chuckled, ruffled the boy’s short hair, and kissed him on the forehead.
“Don’t always kiss the chin. Remember to try different spots next time,” he said in a good mood.
At around six in the evening, after dinner, Old Master Tang couldn’t sit still and went to play chess with Old Li. Tang Che disappeared after the meal, leaving just the couple at home.
“Do you want to go out for a walk?” Fu Tingzhou asked.
“Sure.”
Shen Yunxing took the man’s hand, and fifteen minutes later, they arrived at the place where they had first met for the second time.
“Back then, Mr. Fu, you looked extremely annoyed sitting in the car,” Shen Yunxing recalled. He still remembered clearly how Fu Tingzhou’s expression had been that day.
Fu Tingzhou was momentarily stunned, thinking about that day and feeling more wronged than Dou E (a character famous for her suffering).
“If I really hated you, why would I go through the trouble of having Secretary Yang drive you back to the set?” He said, rubbing the boy’s head. “And you made a mistake earlier. This is actually our third meeting, not the second.”
“Third meeting?” Shen Yunxing looked at the man in confusion.
“Three months ago, the day you returned to school to fill out your application, that was our second meeting,” Fu Tingzhou reminded him with a smile.
The day he returned to school!
Shen Yunxing’s eyes widened suddenly.
The luxury car parked at the school gate was Mr. Fu’s! He vaguely saw a familiar figure at that time but didn’t pay much attention. He didn’t expect it to really be Mr. Fu!
“Mr. Fu, were you there that day to look for me?” he asked curiously.
Fu Tingzhou nodded. “I wanted to see the boy who left an impression on me.”
“Left an impression? Mr. Fu, so you liked me from the start,” Shen Yunxing said, lifting his chin with a slightly smug expression.
Then he thought about how if he couldn’t have a baby like normal people, he might miss his chance with Fu Tingzhou, and his smile faltered.
“Then why didn’t you let me know? If I hadn’t gone to the company to find you later, wouldn’t we have missed each other?”
“We wouldn’t have missed each other. Even if you hadn’t come to find me, I wouldn’t have been able to wait much longer,” Fu Tingzhou said, holding the boy’s hand.
Hearing this, Shen Yunxing’s heart skipped a beat, and he couldn’t help but smile.
“Mr. Fu, is this a confession?” he asked softly, curling his fingers.
Fu Tingzhou nodded, his eyes full of smiles. “Not a formal one.”
Not a formal one?
Shen Yunxing looked up, puzzled.
Could there be a formal confession?
He curved his lips and felt a subtle anticipation in his heart.
……
The next day, when they were leaving, Old Master Tang had Tang Che load a lot of fresh local specialties onto the car and instructed him to send more if they finished what he had given them.
“Why don’t you just stay here? Isn’t it enough to go back and forth?” the old man said reluctantly.
“Grandpa, Mr. Fu and I will come back to see you often,” Shen Yunxing said obediently.
He couldn’t return to Lin’an City yet; his brother came to the school to visit him frequently, and if he discovered he wasn’t in Yun City, it would be problematic.
“Alright, my good grandson can say whatever he wants.” The old man had no principles when it came to Shen Yunxing.
Turning to Fu Tingzhou, he put on a serious elder’s demeanor and said sternly, “Take good care of my good grandson and great-grandson. If anything happens, you’ll be dealt with according to the family rules!”
“Grandpa, don’t worry. Mr. Fu will definitely take good care of me and the baby,” Shen Yunxing said with a smile.
The old man glared at Fu Tingzhou.
How disgraceful, to be protected by a little kid.
Fu Tingzhou, smiling, didn’t feel embarrassed at all. In fact, he found being protected by the boy quite enjoyable, and his good mood lasted the entire day.
On the way back, Shen Yunxing slept all the way home and was finally awakened by Mr. Fu.
“Home already?” he rubbed his eyes and asked.
“Hmm, let’s go upstairs and sleep some more.” Fu Tingzhou patted the boy’s head.
Shen Yunxing nodded, and, holding the man’s hand, sleepily made his way upstairs.
He had been so sleepy before, but lying down for a while made him feel more awake.
Downstairs, he saw Mr. Fu organizing the specialties given by his grandpa and asked, “Mr. Fu, do you need any help?”
“No, I’m almost done,” Fu Tingzhou said with a smile.
Shen Yunxing nodded, hugging a pillow and staring at the man’s well-proportioned back. He only reluctantly shifted his gaze when his phone rang several times.
“Brother! Are you free the day after tomorrow? Let’s get together. Director Qin and Ying Jie are also in Yun City,” Lu Bai chattered. “Brother, I miss you so much. I specifically set the time for Sunday. You have to come!”
“Sure, send me the address. I’ll definitely come the day after tomorrow,” Shen Yunxing said with a smile.
In the production team, Director Qin and Zhao Jie had taken good care of him, and if not for Director Qin, he wouldn’t know when he’d get another role. He still needed to thank Director Qin properly.
This meal should be his treat.
Shen Yunxing thought about what gift to give Director Qin but didn’t realize that his and Mr. Fu’s relationship was seen by Shen Yunshu, who happened to pass by.
