Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 57
After breakfast, Mr. Fu encountered some issues at his company and was currently in a video conference with senior management.
Feeling bored, Shen Yunxing idly scrolled through Weibo on his phone. He came across a trending post where Su Yin, due to a Weibo post with a string of ten “ah”s, was sent to the hot search list by netizens. He immediately burst into laughter.
Su Yin was the female lead in his next drama, and they had scenes together. She had become famous early on and was now one of the top celebrities in the industry.
Su Yin had always maintained a persona of a cold and aloof goddess. However, with this Weibo post, the image she had painstakingly upheld was shattered.
But this wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Modern netizens have a soft spot for the “silly beauty” type. Even though her persona was broken, because her works were good and she wasn’t a scandal-ridden actress, her fan base didn’t decrease; in fact, it increased.
Now, it’s likely that many minor celebrities will try to follow suit and “break their personas” one after another.
Holding a red apple in his hand, Shen Yunxing munched on it while clicking on any gossip that caught his interest.
“Heavy reward for a Trainee?”
He chuckled. The phrase intrigued him.
But when he clicked on it, it turned out to be a search notice, posted by last year’s domestic champion team of “Sniper King.”
[QC.Liang]: Heavy reward for a Trainee! To the brother who sniped with me last night, on behalf of the QC team, I sincerely invite you to join our team as a trainee—or better yet, as a substitute! Heavy reward for a Trainee. If anyone knows this little brother, please have him contact me [fist bump].
Shen Yunxing: The gossip subject turned out to be me→_→.
He glanced at the comments below. Most accused him of cheating, some praised his skills, and a few even started shipping him and Liang as a couple.
Shen Yunxing: Nope, no one can compare to my Mr. Fu [smiling face].
After scrolling through Weibo for a while longer, once Mr. Fu finished his meeting, the couple decided to go out and explore the island hand in hand.
Since they were here, they had to make the most of it. Otherwise, once the baby grew bigger, it would be hard to go out at all *QAQ*.
…
In ten days, the couple visited various countries around Dream Island. They bought so many souvenirs that they filled three large suitcases, with the cute clothes and toys they bought for the baby taking up more than half.
Their original plan was to end their trip on the 26th, but on the morning of the 24th, something unexpected happened with Shen Yunxing’s stomach.
“Ah!”
Seeing the young man eating, then suddenly shouting and freezing, Fu Tingzhou’s heart skipped a beat. He thought the young man was feeling unwell and worriedly frowned.
“What happened? Are you uncomfortable anywhere?” he asked, touching the young man’s slightly pale cheek.
“Mr. Fu, he… he moved!” Shen Yunxing grabbed the man’s arm, looking terrified. “The baby moved!”
Fu Tingzhou’s expression froze for a moment before he smiled.
“Don’t worry, that’s fetal movement. It means our baby is very healthy.” He gently stroked the young man’s swollen abdomen, soothing him with a warm voice, “The baby is saying hello to you.”
Shen Yunxing stared blankly at his belly, which had grown to the size of a small watermelon.
Since finding out he was pregnant, other than his belly getting bigger, he hadn’t really felt it was real. If it weren’t for the ultrasound confirming there was a baby inside, he would have thought he was just gaining weight.
He used to occasionally talk to the baby in his belly, but he never got a response. Those interactions felt more like talking to himself. The sudden fetal movement just now made him feel, for the first time, the reality of becoming a father.
Because of this unexpected event, the couple decided to cut their trip short.
After returning to their country, they first went to Liu Huaijin for a check-up. After confirming that both the mother and baby were in perfect health, they started discussing the matter of meeting the parents.
“Mr. Fu, I’m a little scared.”
Thinking about how they would have to come clean to his parents in a couple of days, Shen Yunxing became extremely nervous. He was worried that Mrs. Shen wouldn’t accept it, and that his father might chase Mr. Fu out of the house with a broom.
He nestled his head into Mr. Fu’s warm embrace, feeling anxious and on the verge of wanting to back out.
“How about we wait a little longer before telling them?”
“Don’t worry, I’m here.” Fu Tingzhou stroked the young man’s hair and said, “This was our mistake in the first place. The longer we hide it, the angrier your parents will be.”
He then kissed the young man’s forehead. “You’re carrying their grandchild now. Your parents will likely go easy on you because of the baby.”
“And what about you?” Shen Yunxing looked up at the man. “Should I kneel in front of her all night? Mom has a soft heart; she definitely won’t have the heart to let me, pregnant and all, kneel for that long.”
“Baby, do you really think I’m that useless?” Fu Tingzhou pinched the soft flesh on the boy’s cheek, speaking with a somewhat helpless tone. “You just need to take care of yourself and the baby. I’ll handle everything else.”
“Of course, Mr. Fu is the best, but I don’t want Mr. Fu to carry everything alone. I also want to protect Mr. Fu.” Shen Yunxing clutched the man’s fingers, his voice speeding up due to his excitement.
“I understand.” Fu Tingzhou felt warmth in his heart as he pulled the boy into his arms and gently said, “But baby, try to rely on me a little more, okay?”
There was a comforting scent in Mr. Fu’s embrace that made Shen Yunxing feel at ease. He tightened his hold around the man’s waist and abdomen and nodded earnestly.
“Mr. Fu, I’ll take good care of myself and the baby, don’t worry.”
“Okay.” Fu Tingzhou kissed the boy’s eyes as he replied.
The next day, after handling company matters, Fu Tingzhou took the boy back to their home in the Seine-et-Marne province.
It was Saturday, and both Father and Mother Shen were at home on vacation. The couple was in the living room, rewatching a drama their son had starred in, when they heard the doorbell ring at the entrance.
“Your leg just recovered, so don’t move around. I’ll get it,” Father Shen said.
“Xing’er? Why are you back at this time?” Father Shen saw through the peephole that it was his youngest son ringing the doorbell and was curious. As he opened the door, he said, “Did you forget your keys… Xiao Fu? You’re here too.”
When he saw the two holding hands tightly, his vision darkened for a moment.
“Dad,” Shen Yunxing called out nervously.
“What are you two doing? Let go!” Father Shen said, his face darkening.
Shen Yunxing did not let go of Mr. Fu’s hand. He looked at his father and softly said, “Dad, can we talk inside?”
“Let go! Do you want to give your mother a heart attack?” Father Shen snapped.
His youngest son had always been obedient and well-behaved. Though he was stubborn, he had never done anything outrageous. But now, here he was, holding hands with another man right in front of him. It seemed like he was about to come out to the family.
“You leave! You’re not welcome in this house!” Father Shen glared at the man beside his son, his face livid.
He thought to himself, in a family as ordinary as theirs, why would a big boss go out of his way to help you and lower himself to befriend you? Today he finally understood that this scoundrel had ulterior motives all along!
“Dad…”
“If you still consider me your father, then make him leave!” Father Shen interrupted his son, speaking harshly.
“Old Shen, I think I heard our son’s voice. Is Xing’er back?”Â
In the living room, hearing the commotion, Mother Shen looked over curiously.
“Mom, I’m back,” Shen Yunxing quickly replied.
“Uncle, Yunxing isn’t feeling well and shouldn’t stand for long. If there’s anything to discuss, let’s talk inside,” Fu Tingzhou said.
Father Shen lowered his voice. “What’s this ‘we’ nonsense? There’s no ‘we’ with you. Xing’er, come in, and you leave!”
“Why are you two still standing at the door? Do you want to make a spectacle of our family?” Mother Shen, seeing that they still hadn’t come inside, walked over to check. The moment she saw the two holding hands, the smile on her face disappeared.
“Get inside already. Do you want the neighbors to laugh at us?”
“Teacher Shen, don’t get upset. Take care of your health.” Father Shen said this and then turned back to glare at his youngest son before finally letting them both in.
Shen Yunxing bit his lip, so nervous that he nearly tripped over himself.
Fu Tingzhou steadied him, gently squeezing the boy’s fingers and reassuring him in a soft voice, “Don’t worry, everything will be fine.”
Shen Yunxing nodded.
Father Shen, who was watching their every move, wore an increasingly sour expression.
“Xing’er, come here,” he said, his face still dark.
Shen Yunxing didn’t move. Looking at his parents, he said, “Mom, Dad, Mr. Fu and I have something to tell you.”
“Come over here first, and then we’ll talk!”
The son they had raised for eighteen years was now standing before them, seemingly about to be stolen away by this man. Now, for this man, he wouldn’t even listen to his own father. Father Shen was furious. He reached out to pull his son over to his side.
“Uncle, Auntie, let’s sit down and talk first.” Fu Tingzhou protected the boy, guiding him to sit on the sofa, then gently asked, “Are you feeling okay? Any discomfort?”
Shen Yunxing shook his head and, seeing his mother’s stern face and his father’s extremely sour expression, scooted closer to Mr. Fu.
“When did you two get together?” Mother Shen asked, glancing at her youngest son, who was clinging to Fu Tingzhou like a little wife, and thought to herself, *Spineless.*
“Three months ago,” Fu Tingzhou replied.
“Are you living together?”
“Yunxing isn’t in good health and needs someone to take care of him.”
“How many months along is the child?” Mother Shen asked, trying to suppress her anger.
“Child? What child?” Father Shen was becoming increasingly confused.
Fu Tingzhou, who had been keeping a close eye on the boy, noticed that he was biting his lip and seemed so tense that he had forgotten to breathe. He gently squeezed the boy’s fingers, offering silent comfort.
Once the boy’s complexion eased up a bit, he turned to Mother Shen and said, “Five months. The baby is very healthy.”
Upon hearing this, Mother Shen stared at her youngest son’s belly in silence for a moment. Then she said, “Yunxing, go to your room. I have something to discuss with this Mr. Fu.”
Shen Yunxing shook his head, wanting to refuse, but Mr. Fu stopped him.
“Go ahead. You didn’t sleep well last night. Go to your room and rest,” Fu Tingzhou said, gently brushing the dark circles under the boy’s eyes with his thumb.
“And what about you, Mr. Fu?” Shen Yunxing held onto the man’s fingers tightly, afraid that he would leave him behind.
“I’ll be right downstairs. I promise that as soon as you open your eyes, you’ll see me, okay?” Fu Tingzhou rubbed the boy’s head and smiled. “Go on and sleep.”
In fact, Shen Yunxing had already been feeling sleepy on the way here. He hadn’t slept well the previous night, and when he finally did manage to fall asleep, he was startled awake by a nightmare. After that, no matter how much Mr. Fu coaxed him, he couldn’t fall back asleep.
Barely holding on until now, his eyelids were getting heavier with each blink, making it hard for him to keep his eyes open.
“Alright. But remember to wake me when you leave,” he said with a nod.
“Okay, go on.”
Shen Yunxing reluctantly went upstairs, looking back three times with every step.
He originally wanted to eavesdrop on what Mrs. Shen and Mr. Fu would talk about, but he was so exhausted that the moment his body touched the bed, he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
Downstairs, as soon as their youngest son left, Mother Shen’s expression changed.
Recently, their eldest son had been trying to instill in her the idea that relationships between people of the same gender are common and that they should be treated with respect. He even mentioned that some men can get pregnant and give birth just like women. Although rare, such cases do exist, and the country has even established special protection programs for male pregnancies.
Over time, she started to suspect that her eldest son might have gotten someone pregnant and was trying to prepare her for the idea that the future daughter-in-law might actually be a man.
But she never expected that the one doing something outrageous would be her always obedient and sensible youngest son!
