Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 6
Shen Yunxing wiped away his tears and hailed a taxi.
He had remembered that night long ago. The man hadn’t forced him; it had been a consensual encounter. He had no right to be angry at anyone. Yet he couldn’t control his emotions.
Unexplained restlessness, unprovoked anger, a sense of loneliness and loss. He had looked it up last night – these were symptoms that appeared during pregnancy.
Shen Yunxing tightened his grip on his backpack strap, placing some trust in Dr. Liu’s words.
Back at Wucheng Mountain, he spotted a familiar black car at the foot of the mountain.
His steps faltered, and he turned around, planning to take a different path up the mountain.
“Yunxing.” Secretary Yang got out of the car, holding him back, “The mountain road is slippery after the rain. Let me arrange a tricycle to take you up.”
Shen Yunxing tried to appear colder than he felt, with a stiff smile, “Thank you, but I can manage on my own.”
“You can’t!” Secretary Yang looked at him with concern, “You don’t look well. What if you faint halfway?”
Shen Yunxing didn’t know, but he didn’t want any interaction with the person in the car.
If he was truly pregnant, he would terminate it. He was only eighteen and still in school, relying on his parents for support. He couldn’t afford to have this child. If he wasn’t pregnant, that would be the best outcome.
“Why is this kid so stubborn? Even if it was someone else, I wouldn’t let them go up the mountain while unwell.”
“Boss, the person has been sent off.” Secretary Yang reported back to her boss from the car.
Fu Tingzhou nodded, his gaze following the gradually disappearing figure of the slender young man until he was out of sight. Then he instructed Secretary Yang to leave.
Meanwhile, Shen Yunxing had just returned to the set when he was informed that there would be an additional night scene tonight, pushing the shooting schedule from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
He nodded to show he understood and returned to his room, tucking his backpack away in a hidden corner.
Dinner consisted of his favorite dishes – tomato scrambled eggs, spicy chicken, and a plate of extremely sour pickled vegetables.
“I can’t believe how sour these green beans are!” Lu Bai’s expression twisted in disbelief as he tasted them. He turned to see his brother enjoying his food, the plate of sour beans almost empty, a satisfied expression on his face.
Lu Bai discreetly pushed his own bowl of beans toward his brother, observing him with a raised eyebrow.
“Brother, do you know what you look like right now?”
After finishing the meal that suited his taste, Shen Yunxing was in a better mood, “What do I look like?”
Lu Bai replied, “A pregnant woman.”
“Pfft—” Shen Yunxing glared at him, “What nonsense, I’m a guy.”
“You probably don’t know, but men can get pregnant too. I saw a pregnant man when I traveled abroad last year; he had a great relationship with his husband.” Lu Bai teased, wiggling his eyebrows.
“You seem quite envious.” Shen Yunxing looked at him with a complex expression, wondering if his little brother was already leaning that way at such a young age.
Lu Bai slid his bowl of leftover food toward his brother, leaning on his cheek as he looked at him.
“Brother, do you know if I told you I like guys, would you hate me?”
Shen Yunxing was taken aback. So, he really is gay!
“No, whether you like guys or girls is your own business. It doesn’t matter to anyone else.”
Lu Bai’s eyes brightened, grabbing his older brother’s left hand and excitedly saying, “I knew it, Brother, we’re the same kind!”
Shen Yunxing: “???” Friends, how did you deduce that?
Lu Bai: “Brother, you still have half a bean left.” He had been eyeing that bean for a while!
Shen Yunxing: “… I accidentally spat that out earlier.”
Lu Bai: “Oh…”
With some time left before shooting, Shen Yunxing wrapped himself in a down jacket and sat on a small stool, reading the script.
Today’s scene involved Xufei being chased by the assailant A, nearly falling off a cliff. Trembling with fear, Xufei looked back, but the pursuer’s figure vanished suddenly.
It wasn’t difficult, but it required wirework. The props teacher had already taught him twice yesterday, and he felt confident.
“Take your positions, we’ll start shooting in two minutes!” Director Qin called out through the megaphone.
After a satisfying dinner and the excitement of filming a night scene, they only needed one retake, and Director Qin called for a cut.
“Yunxing, you’re done for today. You can rest.”
“Alright.” Shen Yunxing made an OK gesture. However, as he was descending, his vision suddenly darkened. If it hadn’t been for the safety harness, he would have fallen!
The crew held their breath as they watched him sway in mid-air for a moment before landing.
“Are you okay?” Once he was on solid ground, Zhao Ying rushed over to check on him.
Shen Yunxing put on a forced smile, trying to reassure everyone, “I’m fine. I just misstepped. I’ll be more careful next time.”
“That’s good, as long as you’re alright.” Zhao Ying patted her chest, still somewhat shaken.
“Brother, I’ll walk you back to your room to rest.” Lu Bai’s face was slightly wrinkled, clearly not pleased.
“Go ahead. Everyone, take a short break, and we’ll resume filming in half an hour.” Director Qin announced.
As he was escorted to his room, Shen Yunxing’s pale face didn’t escape Lu Bai’s watchful eyes. His brother looked at him, concerned and stubborn.
“You clearly didn’t misstep!” He had seen everything!
Shen Yunxing froze, meeting the determined and caring gaze of the young man. He couldn’t find it in himself to lie about it after all.
“I’ve had a history of low blood sugar.”
“No wonder you always carry candies with you.” Lu Bai sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing his eyes tiredly, “Well, rest properly. I’ll go ask around the crew for some candy.”
Shen Yunxing didn’t refuse his kind offer. Today, his near-fainting spell was largely related to his health condition. But he couldn’t explain the specifics to Lu Bai, so he used low blood sugar as a shield.
The next day, Shen Yunxing woke up before dawn. He hadn’t slept well the previous night, waking up three times,
and embarrassingly, even cried once.
Sitting on the bed, he stared blankly for a while, then took out a white plastic bag from his backpack, his ears turning crimson as he entered the bathroom.
Ten minutes later, the bathroom door opened. Shen Yunxing held a pregnancy test stick in his hand, his expression one of disbelief.
Double red lines, positive. He was pregnant.
But he was a man!
Shen Yunxing’s eyes glazed over, his mind replaying the sentence Lu Bai had said to Dr. Liu.
‘You probably don’t know, but men can get pregnant too!’
‘Men can get pregnant, sweetheart~’
He felt lost, staying motionless for half an hour before remembering to consult Dr. Liu online.
Anonymous Patient: Dr. Liu, what should I do? If I go to the hospital with this situation, will I be arrested?
Dr. Liu: Stay calm. Male pregnancies aren’t a big secret anymore in this day and age. We had a male patient admitted just two days ago. So, don’t worry, you won’t be arrested for this. (smile)
Shen Yunxing felt somewhat relieved.
Dr. Liu: Congratulations, you’re going to be a father~
Anonymous Patient: I want to terminate the pregnancy. Can I schedule the procedure at your hospital?
On the other end of the internet, Dr. Liu pounded his desk loudly.
“Why do people want to have babies, and you want to terminate it?”
Fu Tingzhou glanced at him, “What’s gotten into you now?”
“I told you before, I had a male patient online. He just confirmed he’s pregnant today.”
Fu Tingzhou: “?”
