- Chapter 66 - Be Good, Don’t Do Anything
Shen Yunxing was stunned.
In the picture was a screenshot of “Xing’s Guardian” liking a Weibo post from Yun Ting’s super topic.
In other words, Fu Tingzhou might have seen the content produced by Undaunted DaDa and Cola Teacher, as well as other creators!
Thinking of those inappropriate-for-children contents, his face, neck, and entire body turned red and started to heat up.
Fu Tingzhou is so busy; he shouldn’t have time to keep an eye on Weibo every day, right? Maybe he only saw this one post and didn’t see the others.
His cheeks flushed as he tried to comfort himself.
Not long after Su Yin posted, Qiao Shiyu reposted and @ed him, and all the Xiao Qiao fans who had just cursed at him came to apologize under his Weibo.
He didn’t have many fans, and those who hadn’t cursed at him earlier were finally able to stand tall.
[Tea House Manager, Northeast District]: It’s okay. Knowing your mistakes and correcting them is a great thing. Don’t act impulsively in the future; it’s very easy to attract bad publicity to your idol. [Pat head]
The tone was so gentle and polite that the fans who came to apologize blushed with shame and regretted their actions.
[Did Jojo Join the Set Today?]: Alright, alright. Since Jojo and your Star have such a good relationship, we are one family from now on! [Ashamed] [Ashamed]
[I Won’t Change My Name Until I Weigh 90 Pounds]: Enmmm… I didn’t curse, but don’t you think these two have a lot of CP (couple pairing) vibes? Especially in that photo where he’s holding the waist. [Touch chin]
[Worship the Koi Ashore]: Oh my god! I was too focused on the gossip, but now that I look at it, it’s true! The way Xiao Qiao looks at Star has a certain inexplicable emotion, the CP vibes are strong!
[Star’s Girlfriend Outside the Circle]: What show is this? I want to watch it!
[JojoJojo]: Same here!
[Ke Bao Don’t Cry]: Ah this, does your idol have any other skills besides stirring up CP rumors? He was stirring up CP with a minor in the last show, and now he’s doing it with Qiao Shiyu in this one. Can’t he just focus on acting and stop using CP rumors to grab attention?
Ke Bao? Is this Ke Tong’s fan?
Shen Yunxing paused on this comment and looked expressionlessly as the comment section was once again led astray by haters.
[Here Comes the Gossip Crowd]: Focus on honing your acting skills. Going viral several times by stirring up CP rumors is really off-putting.
[Hmm, What Can I Say?]: I mean, he’s only acted in one web series, and within a few months, he’s been trending at number one several times. Why does that seem so off to me? Is he trying to rise to the top through black-and-red tactics?
[Just Asking]: Ke Tong is the most pitiful one, okay! He took the photo, yes, but he didn’t release the material, and besides, he didn’t capture anything incriminating. Who knows whether they were really acting or doing something shady? [Pick nose]
[Yang Cheng’s Tony Leung]: No problem, don’t blame others without evidence! Everyone, keep your eyes open, your idol isn’t a good person either. [Light cigarette]
[Tranquil Life]: Ridiculous. The evidence is right in front of you, and you’re still denying it? What’s the group number? Let’s all make money together. [Speechless]
Seeing this comment, Shen Yunxing couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Meng Lele, seeing her boss still in the mood to laugh, felt much more at ease.
“Yunxing, the shoot is about to start; let’s hurry and get your makeup done,” she reminded.
“Okay.” Shen Yunxing put down his phone and closed his eyes, letting her work on his makeup.
He had good skin, so no foundation was needed; just a bit of pale lipstick would do.
After finishing his makeup, he stepped out the door and ran into Qiao Shiyu and Su Yin. The former nodded at him without much expression, while the latter lifted her dress and came rushing over with a wide smile.
“Sister Su, watch your character,” he reminded with a smile.
“It’s just us three, it’s fine,” Su Yin waved it off, then leaned in close and, like a magician, pulled out a piece of chocolate from her wide sleeve.
“I brought it back from Germany; try it and see if it’s good.”
“Thank you, Sister Su.”
“No need to be polite. Xiao Qiao has some too.” Su Yin paused, observing his expression before continuing, “Don’t take what those netizens said to heart. Most of them are just fence-sitters who follow the wind.”
“Let me tell you, I used to get cursed at a lot too. I had way more haters than you do now, but I didn’t get angry at all. Being hated just means we’re good enough to make some people jealous.” She nudged her chin toward Qiao Shiyu. “Look at Xiao Qiao; he’s been hated to the max, but he’s still playing the lead role. Sometimes being black-and-red is still being red.”
Involuntarily shot Qiao Shiyu: Continue to poker face.jpg
Shen Yunxing had looked at Qiao Shiyu’s Weibo; he had a lot of fans, and just as many people chasing after him with insults.
At the start of the school year, Li Mu had said that Qiao Shiyu had a bad personality and almost caused another contestant to be disfigured during a talent show because he couldn’t stand someone else being more handsome than him.
Not many people seemed to know about this incident. Netizens had been mostly discussing how he had deceived a fan, nearly driving a young man to suicide.
For things he hadn’t witnessed personally, he wasn’t inclined to believe them easily. After spending some time with Qiao Shiyu, he felt that Qiao Shiyu didn’t seem like a bad person, so there must be more to the story.
“Sister Su, I’m fine. I won’t let the netizens’ comments get to me,” he said with a smile as he looked away.
“That’s good. Let’s go; it’s time to shoot.” Su Yin said.
Ke Tong had quite a few scenes today, but after the three of them scanned the set, they didn’t see him anywhere.
“Where’s Ke Tong?” Su Yin asked in confusion.
“He was called away by Director Zheng,” an actor who had arrived early and knew the situation whispered, “Director Zheng looked really upset; I think Ke Tong is about to get a scolding.”
Just as he finished speaking, a fierce argument broke out from behind a set piece.
“Why should I be the one to leave?! Just because I brought my own funding into the project? Shen Yunxing brought his own funding too, so if Director Zheng is so principled, why not kick him out too?!”
“…”
“Hah, so it all comes down to backers. His backer is stronger than mine, so I have to go, right? Fine, I’ll leave. Who even wants to stay in this crappy production crew?!”
Director Zheng’s voice was too quiet to hear, and only Ke Tong’s furious roars could be heard throughout.
Coming around from behind the set, Ke Tong fixed his gaze intently on Shen Yunxing through the crowd.
After a moment, he suddenly curled his lips into a smile and let out a laugh.
“We’re all just playthings for sugar daddies. I’d like to see how long you can stay on top.”
As soon as he said this, everyone instantly became unsettled.
“Shen Yunxing has a backer too?”
“Otherwise, what did you think? There are plenty of beautiful and talented actors out there. He’s only acted in one small web drama, and without any backing, he doesn’t even deserve to be in Director Zheng Bin’s film, let alone play a role that outshines the male lead.”
“Don’t be so naive. These days, which big star doesn’t have a sugar daddy behind them?”
“True.”
Shen Yunxing listened with an unchanged expression until Director Zheng, with a stern face, came out, causing the chatter to gradually die down.
“Being able to bring in funding is a skill in itself. I’ve never thought there’s anything wrong with it. But if someone messes around in my production and delays the shooting schedule, even if you have a mountain of gold backing you, I’ll still kick you out!” Director Zheng said with a stern face.
Once Ke Tong left, the shooting progress improved significantly, and by four o’clock in the afternoon, Shen Yunxing’s scenes were wrapped up.
After filming several outdoor scenes today, he was nearly exhausted. When he returned to the hotel, he ate a little and went straight to sleep.
He initially planned to nap for a while, but once he fell asleep, he didn’t wake up. The phone on his bedside table rang for quite a while without him hearing it.
Around one or two in the morning, he turned over, feeling a bit cold, and instinctively sought out a warm source to hold onto, pressing his cheek against it with satisfaction.
“Mr. Fu, I miss you so much…” he murmured unconsciously.
That night, Shen Yunxing had his first good sleep since joining the crew. Without needing Meng Lele to wake him up, he was awakened by his alarm.
With his eyes still closed, he reached out to find his phone, but instead of the phone, he touched a warm arm. Instantly, his entire body tensed, and his face turned pale.
Panicking, he quickly opened his eyes to look.
“Mr. Fu!” He stared at the man with wide eyes, his expression a mix of surprise and joy.
“Be good, stay with me a bit longer,” Fu Tingzhou said, wrapping his arms around the boy, his voice sounding a bit tired.
Last night, Shen Yunxing thought he was being held by Mr. Fu, but he assumed it was just a dream. It turned out to be real.
He stared at Mr. Fu’s handsome face, his eyes brimming with laughter. Seeing the dark circles under the man’s eyes, he reached out to touch them with concern.
“Mr. Fu, don’t come so early next time.”
Fu Tingzhou caught the boy’s hand and kissed his fingertips.
“Don’t want to wake up and see me first thing?”
Shen Yunxing shook his head and hugged the man’s waist tightly, mumbling, “I do, but I don’t want you to be too tired.”
“Silly boy.” Fu Tingzhou gently rubbed his chin against the boy’s head, his tired voice tinged with a tender smile, “I wanted to see you sooner too.”
Hearing this, Shen Yunxing smiled broadly. He lifted his head to kiss Mr. Fu on the chin, feeling unsatisfied, and then kissed him on the corner of his mouth.
Just as he was about to pull away, Mr. Fu held the back of his head and deepened the kiss.
Shen Yunxing trembled slightly, gripping Mr. Fu’s wrist, and said, a bit breathlessly, “I still have to film later…”
“Be good, I won’t do anything. Just let me hold you, okay?” the man whispered in his ear.
Shen Yunxing’s ears tickled from Mr. Fu’s teasing, and when he tried to rub them, his wrists were caught and pinned to the side of his head. The next second, Mr. Fu propped himself up on either side of him, leaned down, and kissed his forehead, then the tip of his nose, and finally his lips.
“Mr. Fu…” He looked at the man with misty eyes, his clear eyes now covered with a layer of moisture, making him look like an innocent fawn, eliciting a protective urge in others.
“Mm, I’m here.” Fu Tingzhou stroked the boy’s cheek and planted gentle kisses on his lips.
“Don’t worry about the online rumors. Just focus on your filming.” After a moment, Shen Yunxing heard Mr. Fu say in a deep, husky voice.
His hands now free, he wrapped them around the man’s neck, his eyes full of reliance.
“Got it.”
When the alarm rang again, he took Mr. Fu’s hand and carefully placed it on his rounded belly.
“Mr. Fu, you haven’t greeted the baby yet,” he said, blushing.
Fu Tingzhou chuckled softly, but before he could say anything, he felt a light kick against his palm, and his expression froze.
Seeing Mr. Fu stunned, Shen Yunxing smiled with his eyes curved.
Recovering, Fu Tingzhou gently stroked the boy’s belly, his voice filled with excitement, “The baby just kicked me.”
“Because I’m hungry. Every morning when I wake up, the baby kicks me, but as long as I eat on time, the baby behaves.”
Seeing the boy pursing his lips into a sweet smile, Fu Tingzhou also smiled.
“The baby is reminding you to eat on time.” He kissed the boy and said gently.
Shen Yunxing nodded with a smile; he thought the same.
The two spent half an hour playing a kissing game before finally being called up by Meng Lele.
Meng Lele walked in with breakfast and froze upon seeing the big boss cooking breakfast in the kitchen.
Holy crap! When did the big boss arrive?
Should she pretend she didn’t see anything, put down the breakfast, and sneak out? Or should she calmly greet the big boss and then slip away?
Before she could decide how to make her exit, the big boss in the kitchen made the first move.
“Meng Lele?” Fu Tingzhou placed two servings of breakfast on the table and looked up.
“Yes!” she replied firmly, “Good morning, boss!”
“Secretary Yang should have informed you. From now on, you’re only responsible for Yunxing. You don’t have to manage the other artists.”
Seeing the big boss personally taking care of someone left Meng Lele utterly shocked.
She had seen the big boss from afar during the company’s annual party, and his face had been expressionless, the air around him so cold it could freeze people to death.
But now, his expression was as gentle as could be, and his actions as considerate as ever. It was like he was a completely different person!
Not hearing a response, Fu Tingzhou frowned slightly.
Noticing her boss’s sudden change of expression, Meng Lele was so scared that she straightened up, putting all her attention on him.
“Understood, boss!”
“Pfft~” Shen Yunxing couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing, covering his mouth as he said, “Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. Please continue.”
Fu Tingzhou looked at the boy, who was covering his mouth to stifle his laughter, and shook his head, smiling. After waving Meng Lele away, he lightly tapped the boy on the head with his finger.
“Is it that funny?”
Shen Yunxing didn’t say anything, just held his forehead and laughed foolishly.
It wasn’t that he found it funny; it was because he was happy.
Mr. Fu was different when it came to him, compared to how he was with others. He had always been the special one to Mr. Fu, which made him feel both satisfied and happy.
After breakfast, he clung to the man and asked for a hug before gathering his things and preparing to head to the set with Meng Lele.
“Go on, be careful,” Fu Tingzhou leaned in and kissed the young man.
“Goodbye, Mr. Fu,” Shen Yunxing said with a sweet smile.
Knowing that Mr. Fu was waiting for him at the hotel, he was full of energy throughout the morning, finishing four scenes in one take each.
Seeing him in such good spirits, Director Zheng moved the afternoon scenes to the morning. By the time they finished shooting, it was already past 1 p.m., and any later, the baby would start fussing.
“Cut! Good work, everyone!” Director Zheng shouted through a megaphone. “The boss of Shengshi Entertainment is coming by this afternoon to check on things, and they’re treating everyone to a meal. I’ll have someone post the time and location on the door, so check it yourselves!”
“Director Zheng, are we shooting this afternoon?” someone asked.
“Nope, you all get the afternoon off!”
“Yay, long live Director Zheng!” the actors cheered excitedly.
“Hey, both the male lead and the second male lead in our crew are from Shengshi Entertainment. Who do you think the boss is really here to see?”
“Probably Qiao Shiyu. He’s been in the industry longer and is more famous than Shen Yunxing, plus he’s attended banquets with Shengshi Entertainment’s boss before.”
“I think so too. Qiao Shiyu it is.”
A few junior actors whispered among themselves.
“You guys are so behind on the news. That banquet attendee was just a manager, and he was fired for misconduct ages ago. I bet it’s Shen Yunxing,” a fourth voice suddenly chimed in, startling the other three. They turned around to find the female lead, Su Yin, leaving them speechless.
“S-Sister Su?”
“Do you know who the big boss behind Shengshi Entertainment is?” Su Yin squeezed in between the three, asking.
They all shook their heads in unison, “No idea.”
“You’ll know how well he and Yunxing match when you see him. Let me tell you, go search on Weibo…”
“Sister Su! A call from President Qin!” Her assistant Zhou Na interrupted before she could finish.
Hearing that it was a call from President Qin, Su Yin instantly became serious, lifting her dress and running off.
The three junior actors, who had just discovered that the cold and aloof goddess was secretly a gossip lover, were left trembling.
Shen Yunxing was oblivious to what was happening over there, as he was in the break room removing his makeup.
“Lele, are you done?” he asked, eyes closed, leaning back in the chair after not hearing from Meng Lele for a while. He was eager to get back to the hotel and find Mr. Fu.
As soon as he finished speaking, he felt a cool, slightly rough touch on his cheek, completely different from Meng Lele’s usual touch.
His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly opened his eyes, only to see Mr. Fu looking down at him with a smile.
He blinked and then immediately beamed with joy.
“Mr. Fu, when did you get here?”
“When you were filming your scenes with Qiao Shiyu.” Fu Tingzhou’s finger brushed over the boy’s lips, picking up a bit of moisture.
Fu Tingzhou’s expression faltered for a moment before he quickly regained his composure.
He retracted his hand and raised an eyebrow, asking, “I heard that you and he have good on-screen chemistry?”
“Who said that?!” Shen Yunxing’s eyes widened. “I’m going to sue them for slander!”
Fu Tingzhou chuckled, wanting to see what other amusing things the boy would say, so he remained silent, signaling with his eyes for Shen Yunxing to continue.
“How could I have chemistry with him? The netizens must have misunderstood.” He grabbed the man’s hand and rubbed it against his cheek, ingratiating himself, “Clearly, Mr. Fu and I have the best chemistry.”
Seeing that Mr. Fu still wouldn’t speak, he climbed off the chair and burrowed into Mr. Fu’s arms, tilting his head back like a little bird pecking at rice, planting several kisses on the man’s chin.
*Smack*
“I like Mr. Fu the most.”
*Smack*
“Mr. Fu, will you pay attention to me?”
*Smack, smack…*
The boy’s kisses were light and ticklish, and Fu Tingzhou couldn’t hold back anymore, wrapping the boy tightly in his arms.
“Alright, enough,” he said with a laugh.
“I’m not messing around,” Shen Yunxing pouted, tugging at one of the buttons on Mr. Fu’s collar. “Mr. Fu teased me first.”
Fu Tingzhou smiled indulgently, “My bad, I’ll apologize to you, okay?”
Shen Yunxing smiled with his eyes, and just as he was about to pull his hand back, he heard a “snap”—the button had come off.
“Mr. Fu?” He held the button, looking at the man in distress.
What should he do? They were supposed to have dinner soon, and there was no time to go back and change!
“It’s fine, it’s just a button,” Fu Tingzhou reassured, patting the boy’s head, jokingly adding, “Good thing you didn’t tear the whole shirt, or I’d have to go shirtless.”
And so that afternoon, when the entire crew saw the boss of Shengshi Entertainment attending the banquet in a shirt missing a button, everyone except Shen Yunxing and the stoic Qiao Shiyu exchanged knowing looks.
Everyone thought: Damn, Mr. Fu’s little lover plays rough!
