- Chapter 67 - Will My Waist Break?
No one knew that after the gathering, Fu Tingzhou’s car circled the hotel once before stopping at the entrance again.
He had stayed with Shen Yunxing for a week, both going out for filming and work during the day, and then holding hands to get late-night snacks together in the evening before returning.
On this particular day, Shen Yunxing heard from Su Yin about a place with delicious grilled fish. Excited, he returned to the hotel, wanting to take Mr. Fu there for a late-night snack.
However, upon returning to an empty room, he remembered that Mr. Fu had already returned to Lin’an.
Two little dolls were placed on the bed: one with starry eyes resembling Mr. Fu, and the other with wide deer-like eyes resembling a mini version of him. The two dolls were placed side by side in the middle of the bed, their shoulders touching, looking very intimate.
“When did Mr. Fu prepare these?” He was stunned for a moment before picking up the dolls and happily poking them.
“Now you won’t feel lonely when I’m not around,” he said, poking the starry-eyed Mr. Fu with a smile.
…
After twenty days on set, Shen Yunxing’s scenes were nearly finished. To speed up the process, they had filmed two consecutive night shoots in the past few days.
Director Zheng took care of him, allowing him to rest in the lounge when he wasn’t needed on set. Despite this, Shen Yunxing was almost exhausted by the end of the last scene.
Meng Lele was terrified and wanted to call the boss, but Shen Yunxing stopped her.
He didn’t want Mr. Fu to worry. Besides, he was just tired and would be fine after a night’s rest.
The next day was New Year’s Day, and Director Zheng generously gave everyone a day off. So, Shen Yunxing slept until the sun was high in the sky.
Rubbing his eyes, he smelled the aroma of food from the kitchen and thought he was hallucinating.
Without even putting on shoes, he walked to the kitchen and saw a familiar figure standing at the counter. He excitedly called out, “Mr. Fu!”
He ran over and hugged Mr. Fu’s waist, nuzzling his face against the man’s broad back.
“Mr. Fu, why are you here?”
Fu Tingzhou wanted to hug the boy back but realized he was still holding a spatula. He chuckled and leaned down to plant a light kiss on the boy’s lips, saying, “Be good, put on your slippers first.”
“Okay.”
Although he didn’t get a hug, he got a kiss.
Shen Yunxing was satisfied and happily went back to the bedroom to put on his slippers. Then he returned to the kitchen to cling to Mr. Fu’s waist again.
He watched as Mr. Fu skillfully cracked an egg on the side of the pan, then poured the egg into a bowl and quickly whisked it.
“Mr. Fu, why are you here?” He tilted his head and asked again.
“It’s New Year’s Day.” Fu Tingzhou turned and pinched the boy’s nose, smiling as he saw the boy’s confused expression. “I wanted to spend it with you and the baby, so I came.”
Shen Yunxing blinked and cupped Mr. Fu’s cheeks, leaning up to kiss the man’s pouting lips.
“Happy New Year, Mr. Fu,” he said, his eyes curving into a smile.
Fu Tingzhou mimicked the boy’s action, cupping the boy’s cheeks and giving him a kiss as well.
“Happy New Year, my dear.”
He then kissed the boy’s forehead, followed by his brow, eyes, nose, and both cheeks.
Mr. Fu’s kisses were light and ticklish, making Shen Yunxing squint his eyes and laugh uncontrollably.
“Mr. Fu, stop, it’s so ticklish.” He laughed and dodged, shrinking his neck.
Seeing the boy laughing nonstop, Fu Tingzhou worried about the baby, so he finally kissed the boy on the lips and said, “Alright, I won’t tease you anymore.”
“Are you hungry? Let’s eat first.” He stroked the boy’s tuft of hair.
Shen Yunxing nodded happily.
After squeezing together to have lunch, they planned to go out, but it suddenly started to drizzle.
Shen Yunxing lay by the window, watching the drizzle turn into a downpour within a minute, feeling extremely disappointed.
“Mr. Fu, we can’t go out and play.” He turned to look at Mr. Fu, his mouth and eyes drooping.
“It’s okay.” Fu Tingzhou patted the boy’s head and shook his phone, “How about playing a game?”
“Yes!” He cheered up again. As long as he could be with Mr. Fu, he was happy doing anything.
Coincidentally, Lu Bai was also online when he logged in, and as soon as he entered the game, Lu Bai pulled him into the team.
There was another player in the team, a female whose nickname seemed familiar. Before he could ask, Lu Bai started wailing in the team chat.
“Bro, you finally have time to play! I’ve been getting bullied so badly!”
“Why are you still playing games? Aren’t you supposed to be filming?”
“My uncle won’t let me. He said my job now is to study hard and get into a proper university first.” Lu Bai’s voice was filled with resentment. He wasn’t good at studying, and no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t excel.
He wanted his brother to comfort him, but instead, his brother said, “Director Qin is right,” almost making him cry.
“Let’s not talk about that. Bro, come help us. Xiao Yin and I have played several matches and haven’t won a single one!”
“I’ll bring someone in,” Shen Yunxing said.
“Who? Our sponsor?” Lu Bai asked with a grin.
The next second, seeing the familiar ID of their sponsor, he shouted in surprise.
“Holy crap, it really is the sponsor!”
“Since it’s New Year’s, should I send him a red envelope?” Fu Tingzhou asked with a chuckle after being pulled into the team.
Although he didn’t have his microphone on, Shen Yunxing did, so the other two heard this.
Hearing that calling someone “Daddy” would earn him a red envelope, the penniless Lu Bai immediately called out “Daddy Fu” several times without any shame.
“Good boy, I’ll have your brother transfer the red envelope to you later,” Fu Tingzhou said.
The only girl in the team, Su Yin, was so shocked by the conversation that she couldn’t speak. This voice was definitely her idol and Xiao Yunxing! She had just heard it yesterday and wouldn’t mistake it.
“Yunxing? Boss Fu?” she called out excitedly.
Her favorite couple was real! This was the first time she ever shipped a couple, and it turned out to be real. Su Yin’s voice trembled with excitement.
Realizing they had been recognized, Shen Yunxing froze. After a moment of hesitation, he recognized the familiar voice and asked tentatively, “Sister Su?”
“It’s me! Last time we played, I thought it sounded like you and Boss Fu, but I didn’t expect it to really be you!” Su Yin exclaimed with excitement.
Not expecting to be recognized, Shen Yunxing turned off his microphone and looked helplessly at the man beside him.
“Mr. Fu, what should I do?”
“Don’t worry. Whether you want to keep it a secret or tell her the truth, it’s up to you,” Fu Tingzhou reassured him, stroking his head. “No matter what happens, I’m here.”
Mr. Fu’s words were as magical as ever, and Shen Yunxing quickly calmed down after hearing them.
Su Yin had taken care of him like a big sister this past month, so he didn’t intend to hide the truth from her. When she excitedly asked if he and Mr. Fu were really together, he nodded and confirmed it.
“It’s true,” he said. “Sister Su, we don’t plan to go public, so we need you to keep it a secret.”
“Don’t worry, I’m tight-lipped. If I can’t hold it in, I have a few dogs at home I can talk to instead,” Su Yin replied.
Shen Yunxing burst into laughter at this, and Fu Tingzhou also smiled.
“Are you guys done? Are we playing or not?” After waiting for twenty minutes, Lu Bai finally interjected, sounding both frustrated and pitiful. “Please have mercy, I only have one day off. Help me win a game.”
“We’ll play, and I guarantee you’ll win this match,” Shen Yunxing said with a smile.
Lu Bai quickly responded, “Hurry up, I’ve been getting knocked out as soon as I land. I’m about to give up!”
“If anyone’s bad, it’s you. Compared to me, you’re not great, but do you believe that with my skills, I could become a top streamer on Anyfish?”
“A streamer? A fail streamer, maybe?”
While they were bickering, Shen Yunxing had already eliminated all the nearby enemies and was now driving a jeep, taking Mr. Fu to loot a supply drop.
Lu Bai, hiding in a bathroom, muttered, “Even fail streamers can be pretty popular now.”
“Pfft!”
“Sorry, I couldn’t help it,” Su Yin said with a laugh.
The four of them played three matches, winning each one.
After the last game, Shen Yunxing’s gaming time for the day was up. Despite Lu Bai’s “heart-wrenching” pleas, he logged off at Mr. Fu’s reminder.
For dinner, Mr. Fu made his favorite braised pork ribs, and Shen Yunxing ate an entire plate by himself, along with plenty of vegetables.
To prevent him from getting indigestion, Fu Tingzhou bundled him up with a hat, mask, and scarf, leaving only his eyes exposed, and took him for a walk outside.
When they returned, Shen Yunxing took advantage of the time Mr. Fu was in the shower to read the latest fanfiction and artwork from his favorite creators, Teacher Cola and Dada Butao.
Teacher Cola’s writing was as bold as ever, with hardly a word that wasn’t suggestive. Dada Butao, seemingly inspired, had drawn a nine-panel comic featuring faceless characters in various positions—standing, lying down, kneeling, even doing handstands.
He was dumbfounded.
“Can they really do that?”
His eyes widened further as he moved to the next image.
“This position is so unrealistic. Won’t their waist break?”
“What are you looking at?” Mr. Fu’s voice suddenly came from behind him. Startled, he quickly pressed the phone to his chest, his ears turning red, and stammered, “N-nothing.”
“Nothing?” Fu Tingzhou raised an eyebrow, pinching the boy’s red ear and laughing, “Then why are your ears so red?”
“It’s hot!” Shen Yunxing quickly said.
“Is that so?” Fu Tingzhou leaned down and kissed him.
“Nine positions to make your lover most comfortable?” A moment later, he read aloud from the still-lit phone on the bed.
“Mr. Fu, if I say I accidentally clicked on that picture, would you believe me? QAQ” Shen Yunxing pleaded.
