Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 7
“What’s that expression? I already explained male pregnancy to you earlier,” Liao Huaijin said, crossing his legs.
This guy might seem good at intimidating others, but he’s actually a bumpkin who doesn’t know how to drink or party. He has no nightlife at all, and I really don’t know how he’s survived these thirty years.
Fu Tingzhou ignored his friend’s disdainful gaze and maintained a composed expression.
“It’s just a bit unexpected; this situation seems quite rare.”
“It’s not that rare. There’s about one in ten thousand men who experience it. Most people just don’t know they have this unique condition,” Liao Huaijin said, yawning. “And Sugar’s grandfather is healthy, so don’t worry. He asks about it every year. If people don’t know better, they’d think you’re the grandfather’s favorite grandson.”
Seeing his friend furrow his brows, Liao Huaijin quickly waved his hand in apology. “Sorry, I know that your grandfather’s favor towards you is extraordinary. Being filial to your grandfather is only natural.”
“By the way, I heard from Sugar that you’ve been showing interest in a newly legal young boy?” Liao Huaijin propped himself up on the table, the flames of curiosity burning brightly in his eyes. “Did you catch him? Need me to give you some tips?”
He thought his friend would refuse. After all, from the time they’d met until now, this person had been like Tang Seng – no desires or demands, always focused on his mediocre company, completely unexciting.
But unexpectedly, his friend, who usually acted like a monk, actually asked him how to pursue someone!
“Are you still the old Fu I know? I introduced you to countless beautiful women and handsome men, not less than a hundred in total. You won’t even say hello to them, let alone exchange contact information. But now, a just-turned-eighteen young boy has you so infatuated that you’ve lost your way. I’m genuinely curious about who this celestial being is that has you so captivated.”
Liao Huaijin was shocked; this was even more surprising than when his ex-boyfriend came to his hospital to have hemorrhoids removed and he got caught making noise in his pants!
Fu Tingzhou gave him a glance. “Can you stop fantasizing?”
“I can’t. You want to improve your relationship with him, right? It’s like you’ve tasted the flesh and now want to take it further!”
Liao Huaijin understood the inner workings of these perennially single older men. They might complain about the age difference on the surface, but when they were together, why hadn’t they considered their own ages? They were almost old enough to be the young men’s fathers!
After a moment of silence, Fu Tingzhou admitted, “I do have that intention, but I respect his wishes.”
Liao Huaijin was greatly surprised. “Is this still you? Are you discussing business or something? ‘Respecting his wishes’ – with that attitude, you’ll win him over! If you succeed, I’ll call you dad!”
The latter stared at him expressionlessly. “I can’t have a son as old as you.”
“Damn!” Liao Huaijin cursed and laughed. Then he grew concerned about his friend’s lifelong matter of love.
“What’s going on now? Is the kid not responding to you? Let me tell you, it’s not surprising. You always wear a face like you’re owed 8 million yuan, and only Tang and I know that it’s just your personality. If it were someone else, they’d think you hold grudges.”
Liao Huaijin continued, “The most important thing is that you lack charm! Nowadays, young people all love romance. With your stiff demeanor, your post-work regimen of drinking wolfberry tea to stay healthy, you’re like an old bureaucrat. What young man would like you?”
The man on the other side sat upright with military-like discipline. If he had a thermos cup, anyone would instinctively call him “Leader.”
Liao Huaijin appraised his younger brother, clucking his tongue twice. “Such a nostalgic vibe.”
“Are you still thirty and not seventy or eighty? Can’t you have some vitality? Tonight, Tang and I are going out for some nightlife. You should come along.”
Hearing this, Fu Tingzhou furrowed his brows slightly.
“What are you thinking? That’s a legitimate and proper outing!”
“Enough arguing.”
“You eternal single dog! Stay single forever!” Liao Huaijin, annoyed, scolded him and then had his assistant escort him out.
Out of sight, out of mind. Old men like him don’t deserve sweet love; he can spend his whole life with that small, lousy company!
Coming out of the hospital, Fu Tingzhou felt a bit frustrated.
His secretary, Yang Chen, noticed his boss’s displeased expression and held her breath, even stepping on the brake cautiously, afraid his anger might extend to her. She then asked about Little Cutie’s crew.
However, things that you fear will happen usually do.
“How did the discussion with Qin Zheng go?” Fu Tingzhou inquired.
“Qin Zheng doesn’t lack money, and his involvement in filming is more like a pastime. He doesn’t care about fame or lack thereof. But according to a junior crew member from Little Cutie, it seems he’s particularly fond of Shen Yunxing, praising his acting and potential,” Yang Chen reported, detailing everything she’d found.
“Invest three million.”
Three million? Yang Chen was taken aback. This was just a twenty-episode web drama. Even counting the actors’ fees, it would be around one million at most. Her boss seemed to be willing to spare no expense for Little Cutie!
“Is there a problem?” Seeing his secretary had a question, Fu Tingzhou asked expressionlessly.
Having navigated the business world for a decade, he firmly believed that money could solve anything. If there’s something that can’t be resolved, it’s because the money hasn’t been sufficient.
Since his interaction with Shen Yunxing, he had been able to think more clearly. He knew that he needed to put more effort into it, but he didn’t want to make any rash decisions. This was someone’s life and future, after all.
