- Chapter 70 - The Love Rival, Mo Li
**[Dr. Liu]:** Mo Li was a college classmate of mine, Tang Tang, and Tingzhou. When Tingzhou’s parents passed away, Mo Li was the one who helped him get through it. Later, when he took over the company, Mo Li also helped a lot. Back then, we thought they might end up together, but Mo Li went abroad for work.
**[Dr. Liu]:** By the way, she plans to return to China soon, saying she’ll be back before the New Year. I’ll introduce you to her then.
“Isn’t this too much?” Dr. Liu worried, knowing the boy’s simple nature, fearing he might overthink it.
“Relax, Xiao Yunxing isn’t that fragile. Oh no, I should say his fragility only shows in front of Lao Fu.” Tang Che propped his arms on either side of Dr. Liu and gave him a roguish kiss.
“Just like me, I only admit defeat in front of you,” he said, licking the red mole on Dr. Liu’s neck.
…
Meanwhile, in the president’s office at the Fu Group, Shen Yunxing, who had received the message, furrowed his brows.
What to do, a love rival is coming back.
He bit his lip and decided to search online for information about his rival.
A minute later, he looked at the phone screen displaying a woman with an explosively sexy body and a flawless face, falling silent.
After a moment, he silently opened Weibo and scrolled through ten or so comments praising him, finally regaining some confidence.
Shen Yunxing, you must have confidence in yourself. You are the one with Mr. Fu now, and you already have a baby together, and you’re married. Both families have approved of the marriage. You two are the perfect match. Whether it’s Mo Li(Jasmine) or Camellia, they all have to step aside!
He clenched his phone, cheering himself up.
So what if she has a good figure? His figure wasn’t bad either.
He glanced down at his round belly…
It’s okay, if his figure is lacking, he still has his face. At least his face is definitely no worse than that Mo Li!
In the lounge, there was a full-length mirror. He looked himself up and down in the mirror, noticing a small pimple that had appeared on his nose, frowning deeply.
Sister Lele had always nagged him about skincare, but he never took it seriously. Now he regretted it a bit.
There were still twelve days until the New Year; there was still time to start a skincare regimen!
When Fu Tingzhou finished his meeting and returned to the office, Shen Yunxing was busy ordering various cleansers and masks online, so focused that he didn’t notice when the man approached.
“What are you doing?” Mr. Fu’s voice suddenly came from behind, startling him so much that he trembled.
“Nothing, Mr. Fu, you finished your meeting?” He put away his phone, smiling obediently.
“Mm.” The boy didn’t want to say, so Fu Tingzhou didn’t press further. He just rubbed the boy’s head and went back to work.
They had lunch at Liu Chun Garden.
Around three in the afternoon, Mother Shen called, asking them to come home for dinner.
After handling the important tasks, Fu Tingzhou left the rest to others and took the boy back to their Seine-et-Marne residence.
On the way, they stopped by the mall to buy some supplements for the two elders.
Around six o’clock, they rang the doorbell at Shen’s parents’ house.
It was Father Shen who opened the door. He glanced at his son-in-law, who was as tall as a pole, his expression still unwelcoming.
“Dad,” Shen Yunxing greeted.
Fu Tingzhou followed suit, “Dad.”
“Why bring things when you’re coming home? It’s a waste of money.”
“I insisted on buying them. It’s so cold recently; you and Mrs. Shen should eat well to keep up your strength,” Shen Yunxing said cheerfully.
Hearing his youngest son’s words, Father Shen felt even more aggrieved.
All these years of raising him seemed wasted. He hadn’t even scolded him, and he was already taking sides.
“Old Shen, let them in first. It’s cold outside; don’t let them catch a cold,” Mother Shen said, coming out of the kitchen after hearing the commotion.
“Mom.” Seeing Mrs. Shen, Shen Yunxing’s smile brightened.
Fu Tingzhou: “Mom.”
“Come in quickly.” Mother Shen smiled. “Sit down and warm up a bit. Dinner will be ready after I finish one more dish.”
“Mom,” Fu Tingzhou stood up, rolling up his sleeves, “I’ll help you.”
“No need, it’s almost done. You sit and watch TV with Xing’er,” Mrs. Shen waved him off.
After Mrs. Shen returned to the kitchen, only Father Shen and the couple remained in the living room.
Father Shen sat on a single sofa, while the couple sat together on a double sofa.
Finding an interesting movie, Shen Yunxing tugged on Mr. Fu’s sleeve and whispered, “Mr. Fu, I want to eat an orange.”
Fu Tingzhou peeled an orange while saying, “You can only have one.”
“Okay.”
After eating the orange, he wanted an apple but didn’t want the skin, so Fu Tingzhou used a peeler to remove it for him.
Shen Yunxing took a bite, his eyes lighting up.
“It’s so sweet, Mr. Fu, you should try it.”
Without saying a word, Fu Tingzhou leaned in and took a bite from where the boy had bitten, nodding with a smile, “Sweet.”
Father Shen: “…”
*Cough cough,* he coughed loudly.
“Dad, is your throat uncomfortable?” Shen Yunxing handed him a pear, “Eat a pear; it soothes the throat and stops coughing.”
Father Shen’s face darkened even more.
“I’m not eating it; you should eat less too. Dinner will be ready soon.”
Upon hearing this, Shen Yunxing’s cheeks turned red. “It’s not me who wants to eat it; it’s the baby. These days, his appetite has grown so much that I feel like I’m always hungry.”
“It’s normal as the pregnancy progresses,” Mrs. Shen said with a smile, carrying a dish from the kitchen. “When I was pregnant with you, I ate five meals a day and still felt hungry.”
Shen Yunxing nodded. He usually ate three regular meals a day, with some snacks in between. If he stayed up late, Mr. Fu would even make him a late-night snack.
Fu Tingzhou helped Mrs. Shen set the table, and except for Father Shen, the family of four chatted and laughed through dinner.
“Xing’er, you’ve finished your work. When are you two planning to have the wedding?” Mrs. Shen asked.
“Mom, Mr. Fu and I have discussed it. We’re thinking of inviting Grandpa Tang on my birthday and having a family meal together,” Shen Yunxing said. “Given my work situation, I won’t make it public for now. We’ll only invite relatives from both families to the wedding.”
Mrs. Shen nodded. “I heard that actors are advised not to marry early. Some even aren’t allowed to date, and there have been fans who threatened to commit suicide or jump from buildings because their favorite actor got married. It’s too scary.”
Mrs. Shen’s concern was evident. “Xing’er, you must protect yourself when you’re out.”
Shen Yunxing was a bit amused. “Mom, I’m an actor, not an idol. Fans are generally more tolerant of actors. Besides, it’s not about fans disapproving of relationships. It’s because Mr. Fu is too wealthy.”
Father Shen: “……”
There’s no need to flaunt!
Feeling that his youngest son was bragging, Father Shen became so annoyed that he lost his appetite.
After calming Mrs. Shen, the couple chatted with the elders a bit more before heading home, arriving around ten o’clock.
Fu Tingzhou took the boy’s down jacket from him, hung it up, and said, “Go take a shower first. I’ll make you some milk.”
Shen Yunxing nodded. “Okay.”
Ten minutes later, he emerged from the bathroom with his hair still damp. He saw Mr. Fu on the phone in the living room, and his body tensed when he heard Mr. Fu call out the name “Mo Li.”
“Mo Li? You’re coming back?”
Shen Yunxing couldn’t hear what was said on the other end of the line, but Mr. Fu seemed to be in a good mood.
He bit his lip and walked over to Mr. Fu, pretending to be calm. “Mr. Fu, I’m done with my shower.”
Fu Tingzhou nodded, noticing the boy’s hair was still wet. He opened his legs to signal Shen Yunxing to sit down and then naturally took the towel from him to dry his hair.
Having successfully executed his plan, Shen Yunxing obediently sat between Mr. Fu’s legs, letting the man dry his hair while eavesdropping on the call with Mo Li.
“The flight is at midnight, so I should land around nine in the morning. You, Tang Tang, and Xiao Jin should come pick me up.”
Fu Tingzhou continued drying Shen Yunxing’s hair. “I’m fine with it, but Huai Jin has a surgery tomorrow, so he probably won’t make it.”
“If Xiao Jin doesn’t come, Tang Tang, who is under her wife’s thumb, probably won’t come either,” Mo Li giggled on the other end. “Back in school, I noticed Tang Tang was different with Xiao Jin. I guess he had a crush on Xiao Jin back then but just didn’t realize it himself.”
Fu Tingzhou also chuckled. “He’s homophobic.”
“That’s funny. I remember once when we went to a bar together, there were two guys across from us kissing and hugging, and they even got into it physically. I didn’t see Tang Tang react much. I think he’s not afraid of being gay but just afraid of Xiao Jin, hahaha—”
Mo Li laughed for a while before sighing, “It’s good they’re together now. Otherwise, I wouldn’t know how to face them.”
Shen Yunxing felt the hand drying his hair pause momentarily.
“It’s not your fault; you don’t need to feel guilty.”
After a brief silence, Mo Li said, “Let’s not talk about this. I heard from Tang Tang that you married someone ten years younger than you?”
Shen Yunxing frowned. He didn’t like being called a kid; he was an adult, and he’d be nineteen after the New Year.
He wasn’t a child; he was an adult, one who could stand shoulder to shoulder with Mr. Fu.
Fu Tingzhou: “Call him Yunxing, not ‘kid.’ He doesn’t like it.”
Hearing Mr. Fu say that, Shen Yunxing’s unhappy expression turned into a slight smile.
“Alright, Yunxing, it’s the first time I’ve seen you so protective of someone,” Mo Li said with a laugh. “I’m curious about your relationship dynamics and what you’re like in front of Xiao Yunxing.”
Fu Tingzhou, with a hint of helplessness in his tone, replied, “After all this time, you’re still so nosy.”
“This is how the industry is. If you don’t dig up other people’s gossip, others will dig up yours,” Mo Li said tiredly. “I’m off to work. Let’s chat more when we meet tomorrow. Remember to pick me up at the airport.”
“Okay.”
After the call ended, Shen Yunxing’s hair was almost dry.
Fu Tingzhou leaned in and kissed the top of the boy’s head, saying softly, “Go to bed. I’ll be there after I finish my shower.”
Shen Yunxing nodded and headed to the bedroom. He lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, deep in thought.
When Fu Tingzhou returned from his shower, Shen Yunxing snuggled into his arms and casually asked, “Mr. Fu, who was the sister you were on the phone with just now?”
“A friend.” Fu Tingzhou stroked the boy’s back and asked, “Are you coming with me to pick her up tomorrow?”
Shen Yunxing nodded.
“Mr. Fu, I’m going to sleep now. Goodnight.”
He needed to be well-rested for his first encounter with the love rival. He was determined to face Mo Li with the best mental state!
