Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 9
The next day, amidst everyone’s farewell, Shen Yunxing boarded the car and left. Before leaving, he threatened Lu Xiaobai not to drink anymore, warning that if he did, Shen Yunxing wouldn’t contact him once he returned.
Lu Bai felt wronged but obediently nodded.
“Brother, I haven’t seen what the play ‘Cloud Drama’ looks like yet. When the time comes, can you shoot a video for me to see?”
Shen Yunxing: “Sure.”
As the car gradually left the studio, Shen Yunxing turned around only when the faces of the people behind him were no longer visible.
Shen Yunxing used to not get car sick, but today, as the car descended from Wucheng Mountain, he felt awful. His face turned pale, and his stomach churned, making him extremely uncomfortable.
After enduring the nausea, he quickly took a preserved plum from his pocket and put it in his mouth, which made him feel much better.
Midway through the journey, his brother Shen Yunshu called, saying he would come to pick him up. To his surprise, his younger brother was already on the way.
“Weren’t we supposed to agree that I’d come pick you up? Why did you leave early?” The voice on the phone sounded somewhat exasperated.
Receiving a call from his older brother, Shen Yunxing’s face brightened.
“Brother, you just came back from a business trip in Cloud City, rested for half a day, then drove to Han City. It’s too tiring.”
“You, always worrying about others, but not taking care of yourself. I saw the photos you sent to mom, and you’ve lost a lot of weight.” Shen Yunshu said with concern.
His younger brother had always been a well-behaved child. When the adults at home were busy and couldn’t take care of him, he wouldn’t cry or fuss. He could play with a small rabbit plush toy all day long. He would only come over in his little slippers when he was thirsty or hungry, looking at you with his big eyes full of grievances. It always tugged at Shen Yunshu’s heartstrings.
“I’ll make your favorite braised pork ribs for you when you get back.”
Shen Yunxing smiled, revealing a pair of dimples. “Okay, and also some boiled white shrimp.”
A laugh came from the other end of the phone. “Alright, be careful on the road. I’ll be waiting for you at home.”
“Okay.”
After hanging up, Shen Yunxing leaned his head against the car window, feeling a slight soreness in his nose.
He placed his hand on his slightly protruding abdomen and couldn’t help but start to overthink.
Only two months, can it perceive the outside world?
Does it know that its father doesn’t want it? It hadn’t even been born yet and was selfishly deprived of the right to live. Will it resent itself?
Lost in his thoughts, Shen Yunxing didn’t even notice when the car had stopped at his home.
“Yunxing?”
Shen Yunshu came downstairs to throw away the trash and casually glanced at the black van parked on the side of the road. To his surprise, he saw that his younger brother’s face had become thinner.
“Brother.” Shen Yunxing snapped out of his thoughts and smiled at his brother.
“Thinner, but taller.” Shen Yunshu helped with the luggage and used his other hand to affectionately ruffle his little brother’s head.
“Brother, I missed you so much.” Shen Yunxing followed behind his brother, unintentionally acting a bit spoiled.
His brother’s steps paused for a moment, and then a big smile spread across his face.
“Mom, Dad, and I all missed you too. School is about to start soon. Mom and Dad have been busy. They’ve been in meetings at school for the past couple of days. I have to go back to Cloud City tomorrow. I can’t go with you this time.”
“I know.” This happened every year, and Shen Yunxing was used to it, but this time his nose felt sour, and he felt a hint of sadness and grievance.
Shen Yunshu turned to look at his younger brother. “Feeling sad? On the day school starts, I’ll pick you up at the train station in Cloud City.”
“Okay.” Those words brought a smile back to Shen Yunxing’s face.
🥶
The older brother shook his head and chuckled. After being away from home for two months, his younger brother had really become more skilled at acting spoiled.
Lunch was all Shen Yunxing’s favorites. He ate heartily, and after the meal, he took a nice nap. When he woke up, he felt more refreshed.
However, the luck didn’t continue into the evening. The carefully prepared meal by Mrs. Shen was hardly touched by Shen Yunxing before he rushed to the bathroom and vomited, his face turning as pale as a ghost.
“He was fine just now. Why did he suddenly throw up?” Mrs. Shen brought a glass of warm water, looking at her son’s cold and sweaty forehead with distress.
“It’s not good if this continues. Let Yunshu drive you to the hospital.” Mr. Shen frowned.
Shen Yunshu nodded, but the younger one stubbornly held onto the armrest of the couch, refusing to cooperate no matter how much he was persuaded.
“I don’t need to go to the hospital. I’ll be fine after a while. Just need to rest.” Shen Yunxing managed a weak smile.
He absolutely couldn’t go to the hospital; he’d be discovered.
Seeing that he was acting obediently and also stubborn, the family had no choice but to endure together.
Half an hour later, the boy lying on the couch gradually regained some color in his face. His voice also grew stronger.
“Mom, Dad, Brother, I’m sorry for making you worry.” Shen Yunxing said with a bitter smile. He instinctively reached into his pocket to take out a preserved plum to eat, but then he remembered that he was back home. His hand froze in midair.
Mrs. Shen touched her son’s cheek affectionately. “As long as you’re fine. School is starting soon, and it’s worrisome for me to let you go like this.”
“Mom, weren’t you busy with the promotion to vice director in the second half of the year? Taking a leave now might not be a good idea.” Shen Yunxing didn’t dare to let Mrs. Shen accompany him to the hospital. He had to find a way to dissuade her.
“I promise I’ll go to the hospital tomorrow. Mrs. Shen, you can rest assured.” He held onto Mrs. Shen’s arm and gently shook her.
“Back to being spoiled.” Mrs. Shen scolded her son with a hint of amusement and then sighed helplessly. “I really can’t do anything with you.”
“Tomorrow, I’ll take Yunxing to the hospital first and then return to Cloud City.” Shen Yunshu said.
Shen Yunxing looked at his brother. “Brother, is everything okay at your school?”
“Being half an hour late is fine.” Shen Yunshu rubbed his brother’s head and joked, “After all, I’m a professor. Shouldn’t I have this privilege? I’ve been in the school for so many years, and I can’t even use this.”
Shen Yunxing was finally at ease.
The next morning, Shen Yunshu sent his brother to the downtown hospital and saw him enter before turning around to head back to Cloud City.
Inside the hospital lobby, Shen Yunxing found a corner and took out his phone to contact Dr. Liu.
【Dreamer】: Dr. Liu, I’m at the hospital.
The reply came almost instantly.
【Dr. Liu】: Where are you? I’ll come down to get you.
Shen Yunxing looked around at the signs and typed a few words.
【Dreamer】: “For Men’s Health, Visit Central Hospital” across from the display stand.
【Dr. Liu】: You’re quite resourceful. Wait for me, I’ll be right there.
【Dreamer】: Okay.
After putting his phone away, Shen Yunxing stood in place and waited for a while, but he didn’t see anyone coming.
He looked around, feeling uneasy amidst the crowd. He placed one hand on his abdomen and used the other to press down on his cap.
At this moment, an uncertain voice sounded in his ear.
“Shen… Mister?”
Dr. Liu felt like he had probably mistaken the person. The one in front of him was wearing a black baseball cap. Although only half of his face was visible, it was clear that he was probably around eighteen or nineteen years old. It was unlikely that he was the pregnant husband who had agreed to come for a checkup today.
However, when the young man raised his head, revealing an immature and youthful face, he nodded slightly at Dr. Liu.
“Dr. Liu, hello.”
“?!?!”
Dr. Liu was both surprised and furious.
Who was the jerk that pulled this dirty trick? Damn them! May they give birth without a butthole!
