Pregnant With The Pup Of A Wealthy Old Man - Chapter 93
Chapter 93: A Second Child?
As soon as the school bell rang, the classroom door was pushed open.
Baby Zhouzhou was arranged to be brought out, and the little one accurately spotted his two dads in the crowd. He shouted in his sweet little voice, “Daddy, Papa, Zhouzhou is done with school!”
Not only were Li Yuqing and Fang Shiyu’s moms excited now, but all the parents were equally thrilled.
“It really is Film Emperor Shen and Big Boss Fu.”
“Their child is so adorable! So soft and cuddly, I just want to squish him!”
“Ahhh, Boss Fu is so handsome, and Xingzai looks so refined. Their son looks so much like the two of them. Could he really be their biological child? I’ve heard there have already been several cases of male pregnancy in the country.”
“Honey, don’t you work at Fu Corporation? Your boss is right there. Aren’t you going to say hello?”
“I’m just a small manager. I never even see the big boss in person. It wouldn’t be appropriate.”
“Oh my, I finally got to see Xingzai in real life. I really want to go ask for an autograph!”
“Me too!”
The parents kept a safe distance and whispered among themselves.
When Shen Yunxing turned around with his son, the group of parents quickly made way for them, their gazes full of curiosity and warmth as they watched the family of three.
One was the CEO of a listed corporation, and the other was a well-known actor who had been in the entertainment industry for years. They were already used to being stared at. Baby Zhouzhou, being naturally outgoing, could chat with strangers easily. Facing the curious gazes of the uncles and aunties, he held his little head high and showed no signs of shyness.
“Hello, everyone,” Shen Yunxing said with a smile, noticing that many parents were his fans.
“Hello, uncles and aunties,” the little one said, squinting his eyes and mimicking his daddy.
When he noticed his Papa not reacting, he tugged on the hem of his shirt, shaking it gently.
“Papa, you have to be polite,” the little one admonished seriously.
Fu Tingzhou chuckled and followed his son and partner, greeting the crowd.
“Xingzai/Shen Yingdi, Boss Fu/Fu Dalao, Zhouzhou/Baby, hello!” The group of parents responded in unison.
“Haha, Boss Fu got lectured by his son. This family of three is just too sweet. Better than any behind-the-scenes footage!”
“I can’t take it anymore. I want to post on Weibo and slap those haters in the face! Even with the footage released, they’re still claiming that Xingzai and Boss Fu are faking it!”
“No need. Once the show airs, all the rumors will be squashed.”
“Xingzai is leaving. I wonder if we’ll get to see Xingzai and Boss Fu tomorrow.”
“Probably. If we see them often enough, we might even get an autograph someday.”
“Yeah, yeah!”
The parents whispered among themselves as the family of three said their goodbyes and left, chatting and laughing.
Orange’s mom had some matters to attend to and had picked up Orange earlier in the afternoon. Shen Yunxing explained this to his son, and the understanding little one nodded, indicating he understood.
“Baby, did you have fun at kindergarten today?” On the way back, Shen Yunxing asked his son.
The little one, holding both dads’ hands, swayed slightly. Hearing the question about kindergarten, he shook his head and frowned. “Not fun.”
The couple exchanged glances, both thinking their son might not want to go back the next day.
“Will Zhouzhou go to kindergarten tomorrow?” Shen Yunxing asked, not holding out much hope.
“I will!” Baby Zhouzhou nodded, his little face serious. “Zhouzhou needs to study hard and go to university!”
Hearing this, Shen Yunxing thought: I know this one. After university, you can marry Junjun.
Looking at their son’s earnest little face, the couple felt both comforted and helpless.
At just three years old, he already knew how to plan for marriage. Their son was truly precocious.
“Daddy, when will you take Zhouzhou to the amusement park to ride the carousel?” The little one tilted his head up, his bright eyes looking expectantly at his daddy.
“Right now.” Shen Yunxing ruffled his son’s hair, smiling. “Has Zhouzhou not noticed that Papa is missing?”
The little one widened his eyes, suddenly realizing his left hand was empty.
“Daddy, we lost Papa!” Zhouzhou said anxiously.
“No, Papa went to get the car. He’ll be back soon.”
Just as he said this, the father and son saw a familiar black car pull up not far away.
“It’s Papa’s car!” The little one tugged at his daddy’s arm in excitement.
The nearest amusement park was about 20 minutes away from Chunjiang Huayueyuan.
Twenty minutes later, Zhouzhou, who had been talking about it the entire way, finally got to ride the carousel he had been longing for.
After a full day of kindergarten and two hours of wild fun at the amusement park, Zhouzhou returned home, took a bath with Papa, and fell asleep on his shoulder without even watching cartoons.
Shen Yunxing lifted the blanket covering the little one and whispered, “He’s asleep.”
Fu Tingzhou nodded. “I’ll carry Zhouzhou upstairs to sleep.”
“Okay.” Shen Yunxing sat on the sofa, peeling an orange.
His appetite hadn’t been great today, and he barely ate anything at dinner. Seeing the oranges on the table, he suddenly felt a bit hungry.
When Fu Tingzhou came downstairs and saw the mountain of orange peels in front of him, his brows furrowed slightly.
“You’re about to go to sleep. Eating so many oranges isn’t good for you.” He rubbed the young man’s head and said, “I’ll make you a light bowl of shredded chicken noodles.”
Shen Yunxing nodded and handed the half-eaten orange in his hand to Fu Tingzhou’s lips.
“This batch of oranges is really good. Gege, try it.”
Fu Tingzhou bit the orange slice, and his expression instantly twisted.
Shen Yunxing, noticing his reaction, asked in confusion, “What’s wrong? Does it taste bad?”
“That’s impossible. I already ate half of it earlier. It’s sweet and sour and quite tasty.” Saying this, he grabbed the last segment of the orange from Fu Tingzhou and tossed it into his mouth.
He chewed thoughtfully. “It’s delicious.”
Fu Tingzhou still felt the sourness lingering on his tongue. He licked his teeth and asked, “You don’t find it sour?”
Shen Yunxing shook his head. “Not at all.”
Seeing the man’s furrowed brows, he burst into laughter.
“Is it really that sour? Gege, you’re just too sensitive to sourness. I think the balance is just right. That’s why I accidentally ate a few more earlier.”
“Maybe.” Fu Tingzhou smiled faintly.
Not being fond of sour flavors, he didn’t think much of it. He leaned down to kiss the corner of Shen Yunxing’s lips before heading to the kitchen.
Half an hour later, with a bowl of shredded chicken noodles in his stomach, Shen Yunxing felt revived, ready to take on Fu Tingzhou for another three hundred rounds.
However, not even two rounds in, he was defeated, fleeing under the covers in embarrassment.
The next morning, Shen Yunxing felt a little unwell. Zhouzhou, concerned for his daddy, insisted he stay home to rest. After adorably telling him to take good care of himself, the little one picked up his schoolbag and let Papa take him to kindergarten.
When Fu Tingzhou returned after dropping off their son, he went upstairs to find Shen Yunxing looking like a wilted eggplant, devoid of energy. His heart ached.
“Do you need to go to the hospital?” He touched the young man’s forehead.
Shen Yunxing shook his head. “No, I’m just tired. I don’t want to move.”
Looking at the man, he smiled softly and asked, “Mr. Fu, will you sleep a little longer with me?”
“Of course.” Fu Tingzhou kissed the young man’s hair.
The “little eyes” in the corner buzzed for a moment, then stopped after landing on the couple sleeping in each other’s arms.
At noon, Fu Tingzhou made fish soup for the young man to nourish his body. The young man hadn’t had much of an appetite in the past few days and ate very little. Fu Tingzhou was worried that if this continued, it would cause health issues, so he planned to take the young man to Huai Jin for a check-up after lunch.
However, during lunch, Shen Yunxing’s energy seemed to return. Although he found the fish soup a bit fishy and only drank a few sips, he ate a lot of the other dishes and even had an extra half bowl of rice after finishing his first.
“Brother, there’s no need to go to the hospital,” he said, lying on the man’s lap after the meal. “I feel much better now.”
Fu Tingzhou asked worriedly, “Are you sure you’re okay now?”
“Mm. By the way, what kind of fish was in the soup earlier? It tasted very fishy. Next time, let’s go back to the usual kind.”
Fu Tingzhou’s hand, which was stroking the young man’s hair, paused slightly.
“It was codfish, the same as before. It hasn’t changed.”
Shen Yunxing froze for a moment, then smiled and said, “Oh, maybe I’ve become picky because of how well you’ve been feeding me lately.”
Shen Yunxing didn’t think much of it, but Fu Tingzhou kept it in mind. Over the next two days, he paid attention to the young man’s eating habits and found that apart from overly greasy dishes and fish, he ate everything happily and didn’t experience any discomfort. Relieved, Fu Tingzhou let the matter rest.
The filming for the show was nearing its end. Coincidentally, it was Saturday, and the family of three sat in the living room for the final segment—an interview with questions collected by the show.
“We’ve compiled a few questions from the audience. Mr. Shen, please review them. If there are any that you or Mr. Fu find inconvenient to answer, feel free to cross them out,” the production team said, handing over a sheet of paper.
“Alright.” Shen Yunxing took the paper and reviewed it with Mr. Fu. Baby Zhouzhou, who had just learned to write “one, two, three, four,” also leaned his little head in curiously.
After reading the questions, Shen Yunxing found no issues and glanced at his Mr. Fu for confirmation.
Fu Tingzhou looked at the young man, his brows furrowing unconsciously. “Cross out the last one.”
“No need. I don’t like it when people say Zhouzhou is adopted. I carried Zhouzhou for eight months and gave birth to him myself,” Shen Yunxing said, gently smoothing the crease between the man’s brows with a smile. “Don’t worry. My fans are very understanding; they won’t mind.”
“Mm-hmm. Zhouzhou was born from Daddy’s belly!” The little one, hearing the first part of his Daddy’s words, patted his Daddy’s flat stomach with his small hand. “Zhouzhou came out of Daddy’s tummy~”
Shen Yunxing laughed and kissed his son’s cheek. “That’s right, Zhouzhou.”
Two minutes later, when the production team saw that none of the questions had been crossed out, they became excited.
The questions the audience asked were also what they wanted to know, and the show’s ratings were sure to soar after airing!
“Mr. Shen, the interview will begin in one minute. Are you ready?” a staff member asked.
Shen Yunxing nodded. “Ready.”
Fu Tingzhou gave a slight nod.
“Ready~” The little one replied in his childish voice.
The staff member gave an “OK” gesture, and after a three-second countdown, the interview began.
“First question: When did Movie Emperor Shen and Mr. Fu get together, and who pursued whom first?”
Shen Yunxing smiled at the camera. “We got together right after graduating from high school. I confessed first.”
“Oh? So it was Mr. Shen who pursued Mr. Fu?” The staff member seemed surprised.
“Mm.” Fu Tingzhou nodded, looking at the young man beside him with a slight smile. “I pursued him first.”
Shen Yunxing was stunned. “When did you pursue me? How come I didn’t know?”
Staff: Oh wow, some juicy gossip.
Fu Tingzhou: “When you were filming Confessions of Assassin ‘A’. I had meals specially prepared for you, knowing you had low blood sugar. I also arranged for chocolate and candy to be included. Later, I even visited the set.”
Shen Yunxing’s eyes widened. “That doesn’t count! You didn’t even meet me in person. How can that be considered pursuing?”
After a brief silence, Fu Tingzhou confessed, “I’ve never pursued anyone before…”
“Ha!” Shen Yunxing couldn’t hold back his laughter and patted his Mr. Fu on the shoulder. “Got it. You pursued me first.”
Staff: Big gossip turned into public displays of affection—well done!
Nestled between his two dads, Baby Zhouzhou laughed along with everyone, showing his little white teeth.
“Second question: Are Movie Emperor Shen and Mr. Fu married? Did either of your parents object?”
Shen Yunxing raised his left hand, entwined with his Mr. Fu’s, and smiled. “Not long after I confessed, Mr. Fu proposed to me. As for our parents, his didn’t object, but mine were upset for a few days.”
He winked at the man. “Because they thought Mr. Fu was a bit old.”
Fu Tingzhou chuckled, looking at the young man with indulgent and doting eyes.
Staff: More public displays of affection!
“The third question: There’s a saying that ‘a wealthy man is prone to stray.’ Mr. Fu is so rich—does Movie Emperor Shen ever worry about him cheating?”
Shen Yunxing smiled. “No, because Mr. Fu’s salary card is with me.”
Staff: More affection—keep it coming.
“The fourth question is for Mr. Fu: How do you feel about Movie Emperor Shen acting in intimate scenes with actresses? Don’t you get jealous?”
Shen Yunxing was curious about this too and turned to his Mr. Fu.
Fu Tingzhou gently pinched the young man’s fingers and answered, “I do get jealous, but acting is something he loves. Some works require intimate scenes to develop the story. I understand that, but it doesn’t mean I support him acting in such scenes with others.”
He looked directly at the camera. “So I hope directors casting Yunxing won’t include such scenes.”
“Mr. Fu, this affects my stardom, you know?” Shen Yunxing teased with a smile. “But since I spoil you, I’ll avoid scripts with kissing scenes in the future to keep you happy.”
He wasn’t an idol drama actor anyway, so avoiding such roles wouldn’t limit his choices. Plus, he had only ever filmed one such scene with Sister Su, and that was a long time ago.
Staff: Thoroughly overwhelmed by the affection.
“Alright, on to the fifth question.” The female director paused. “Is your child adopted or biologically related to one of you?”
“He’s not adopted,” Shen Yunxing said, pinching his son’s soft cheek. “Zhouzhou is my biological child.”
“Yep, Zhouzhou came out of Daddy’s tummy~” The little one rubbed against his Daddy’s palm happily.
The female director froze, and it took a nudge from the cameraman behind her to bring her back to her senses.
“Sorry, I spaced out.” The director quickly composed herself, smiling as she continued. “The next question is from fans for Mr. Shen: How can someone marry a husband like Mr. Fu—rich and handsome?”
“Wait for me to get divorced.” Shen Yunxing turned to the camera and joked, “But you won’t get the chance.”
“The last question is one I’m asking on behalf of all viewers. Mr. Fu, do you plan to go public today?”
Fu Tingzhou smiled. “I’m not the decision-maker in our household.”
The director turned the mic back to Shen Yunxing. “Mr. Shen, will you go public today?”
Shen Yunxing smiled without answering.
Baby Zhouzhou looked at his Daddy and then at his Papa before waving his little hand and saying in his soft voice, “No public, no public. Not today~”
Everyone present burst into laughter at the little one’s innocent voice.
…
The day after filming wrapped up for Dad and Baby on the Go, it was the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Both families gathered for a reunion dinner, and the following day, Shen Yunxing returned to Yunxi Academy.
He had taken a two-week leave from his mentor, and it had now ended.
“Bro, you’re finally back! We thought you were going to take another break right after restarting this semester,” Shen Yunxing’s roommates, Li Mu and Yu Jing, teased as he returned to the dorm. Zhao Qian was off shooting a film and wouldn’t wrap up for another two weeks.
“No leave of absence.” Shen Yunxing smiled and said, “I plan to stay and attend classes properly. I’ve taken on too many roles over the past two years; consider this a vacation for myself.”
“Showing off, huh?” Li Mu gave him a light punch on the shoulder. “You still have several dramas held up by the broadcast authority. Even if you don’t act for a year, the audience won’t forget you.”
Yu Jing wrinkled his nose and said, “Exactly. I’ve only filmed two dramas in the past two years. Although they’ve been released, I’m still practically invisible online. The other day, my brother even suggested that if it doesn’t work out, I should join him at the construction site to move bricks.”
“Did you go for the audition for the drama I recommended to you a few days ago?” Shen Yunxing asked Yu Jing.
“I went, and they said they’d get back to me in a couple of days. But it’s past the deadline now, and I haven’t heard anything. Guess it’s a no-go.” Yu Jing sighed. “But Li Mu got the third male lead role. He’s starting costume fittings next month.”
Shen Yunxing: “Don’t worry. Things will get better.”
“Speaking of that, I really owe you for the audition. Even though we’re good friends, I still have to thank you properly. If it weren’t for you, how could I have gotten the chance to act in Director Zheng Bin’s drama, let alone as the third male lead?” Li Mu thumped his chest. “Tonight, let me treat you to dinner at Royal Feast. Order whatever you want.”
Shen Yunxing laughed. “Why so generous all of a sudden?”
Li Mu chuckled. “Got paid for my last role—several hundred thousand.”
Yu Jing hooked an arm around Li Mu’s neck. “Count me in. I’ve never eaten at Royal Feast before.”
“Of course. Order whatever you like. It’s my treat tonight!”
The three burst into hearty laughter.
Royal Feast required reservations. When Li Mu called, all spots were booked. After asking for their names and party size, the restaurant called back within ten minutes to say a spot had opened up.
“Luck’s on our side today. I should buy a lottery ticket later.” Li Mu said.
The reservation was for six o’clock. By five, the three had already dressed and left.
When they stepped out of campus, Shen Yunxing saw Yu Jing driving over and raised an eyebrow. “Nice car.”
Yu Jing scratched his head, looking a bit embarrassed. “It’s alright. My family can’t afford anything too fancy.”
Shen Yunxing paused briefly. Once in the car, he turned to Li Mu. “I don’t know much about cars, but this one doesn’t look cheap.”
“Yeah, around a million or so,” Li Mu said, his expression complicated. “You know his concept of money isn’t like ours. This guy gets a monthly allowance in the tens of thousands, but he’s always eyeing the little jars of pickled vegetables my mom sends me.”
“A car worth over a million isn’t expensive?” Yu Jing rebutted from the driver’s seat. “My dad usually doesn’t let me drive this one, says it’s embarrassing.”
Li Mu: “…”
The world of the wealthy was beyond his understanding.
Shen Yunxing: “Jingzi, what does your family do exactly?” He’d been curious for a while.
“My dad’s in coal,” Yu Jing glanced at them through the rearview mirror. “I never mentioned it?”
“You didn’t.” Shen Yunxing was relatively calm, but Li Mu had already slapped his thigh.
“Damn, so your family owns coal mines! No wonder you’re so extravagant!” he exclaimed enviously.
Yu Jing scratched his head sheepishly. “It’s just a few mines, nothing compared to Mr. Fu.”
At the mention of Mr. Fu, Li Mu turned the spotlight on Shen Yunxing.
“You’re the real impressive one here, silently landing someone like Fu Tingzhou. When you took that leave of absence, you told us you were going home to recover, but it turns out you were preparing for childbirth! When we saw Zhouzhou online, we felt something was off. Thinking back, it all made sense—the blankets, the hot water bottles, and all those snacks back in school. It was all for this!”
From the front seat, Yu Jing nodded fervently.
Shen Yunxing raised a hand in surrender. “My bad. I didn’t tell you guys because I was worried you wouldn’t take it well.”
Li Mu: “True. If you’d told me back then, I’d probably have roasted you. ‘I’ve had 108 babies; you’re only on your first—what’s up with your constitution?’ That kind of thing.”
Yu Jing burst into laughter. “Haha, that’s definitely something Brother Mu would say.”
Amid their banter, they arrived at their destination.
After getting out, a valet took the car, and they were led upstairs to a private room.
“As expected of ‘Royal Feast.’ The name alone is imposing, but the decor is even grander.” Li Mu nodded in approval once they were seated in the private room. “It’s got that imperial palace vibe.”
“Good evening, distinguished guests. Here’s the menu. Please take a look.” A neatly dressed waitress, her hair adorned with a hairpin, smiled as she presented the menu.
“Order anything you want; it’s on me.” Li Mu took the menu without even glancing at it and passed it to Shen Yunxing and Yu Jing.
The two didn’t hold back, choosing four dishes and a soup, plus a dessert to match their appetites.
“Just these? Is that enough?” Li Mu frowned. “Let’s add a few more dishes and a bottle of wine. I heard there’s a famous red wine called Emperor’s Nectar. Let’s get a bottle of that too.”
The waitress: “Understood.”
Shen Yunxing added two more dishes.
The trio chatted and laughed as they waited. About half an hour later, the dishes began arriving.
“Not bad; the service is quick.” Li Mu picked up the heavy bottle of Emperor’s Nectar and poured a glass for each of them. He raised his glass. “Qian isn’t here, so we’ll drink more on his behalf.”
Yu Jing: “Deal!”
Shen Yunxing clinked glasses with them.
“Hiss—ah! Good stuff!”
“This is red wine; why are you hissing and ah-ing?” Yu Jing shot him a look of disdain. “You’re drinking fine red wine and making it sound like baijiu. Such a waste!”
“Hey, mind your own business.”
“Yunxing, I remember you used to love fish.” Near the end of the meal, Yu Jing noticed Shen Yunxing hadn’t touched the fish. “This dish is pretty good. Why haven’t you had any?”
Shen Yunxing frowned slightly. “Maybe it wasn’t handled well; I find it a bit fishy.”
Yu Jing: “Huh? Really? I don’t taste anything off.” He took another bite and then turned to Li Mu.
Li Mu shook his head, smirking as he teased Shen Yunxing. “Neither of us tasted anything fishy. Could it be that you’ve got another little one on the way? I’ve heard pregnant people get sensitive and can’t stand even a hint of fishiness.”
The two didn’t think much of it, but Shen Yunxing froze, his grip on his chopsticks tightening.
Li Mu noticed his expression and felt a pang of unease. “Oh no! Don’t tell me I hit the mark!”
Shen Yunxing’s brows furrowed deeper. “I’m not sure…”
Yu Jing set his cup down with a loud thud. “What’s there to hesitate about? Get to the hospital for a checkup right away!” He snatched the wine glass from in front of Shen Yunxing. “Pregnant people can’t drink alcohol!”
Li Mu chimed in, “We’ve almost finished eating anyway. Let’s go; we’ll take you to the hospital.”
Shen Yunxing was both touched and amused. “It’s already nighttime. The doctors are off duty. Besides, tomorrow will do. Apart from being sensitive to fishy smells and a bit drowsy, I feel fine. When I was pregnant with Zhouzhou, I couldn’t keep anything down and felt awful.”
“Bro, how did you not notice this?” Li Mu glared at him. “You even ate those sour lemon slices from the side dish. Isn’t that a strong enough reaction?”
Shen Yunxing: “…” He hadn’t noticed. They just looked appetizing, so he ate them.
Now that they mentioned it, something did feel off. Even the oranges Fu Tingzhou bought recently tasted fine to him, but they made Fu Tingzhou grimace. Yet, he usually couldn’t handle anything too sour.
Feeling increasingly uncertain, Shen Yunxing agreed to go for a checkup.
“No point in wasting this good wine.” Before leaving, Li Mu finished the last glass.
After leaving Royal Feast, they got into the car, and Shen Yunxing called Professor Chen. Learning that he happened to be at the hospital, they drove straight to Yun City Hospital.
