She's Too Sweet - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
That evening, Su He returned to her dormitory after Wen Man had left. The next day was Sunday, and Su He didn’t have classes, so she slept in a bit later, waking up just before 8:30 AM. She thought she had slept in late, but it turned out that Chi Ying and Chen Lin hadn’t gotten up yet. After washing and changing out of her pajamas, Su He went out for breakfast.
The cafeteria at Hai University was open on weekends, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
While eating breakfast, Su He checked her phone and saw that Chen Yao had started messaging her again after a night of silence. Chen Yao sent her a greeting: “Good morning, classmate Su.” Then he asked her to add him as a friend on social media, followed by a string of playful nicknames that made Su He shiver.
As soon as she declined, Chen Yao sent another request, as if he was waiting by his phone. It turned out he was indeed waiting, loitering under the self-study building.
Xie Lou was standing on the balcony of the sixth floor of the adjacent dormitory, wearing shorts and a black top, leaning on the railing and looking down. Zhou Cheng stood beside him and asked, “What’s Chen Yao doing here so early? Has he taken a liking to the older self-study student, Wen Man?” Xie Lou didn’t respond.
Meanwhile, Su He finished her breakfast and walked back to her dormitory, carrying two breakfast portions. She was wearing black shorts that revealed her fair, long legs, a simple undershirt, and a pair of slippers. Zhou Cheng’s eyes lit up.
Downstairs, Chen Yao immediately turned around and waved at Su He. “Classmate Su, ” he called out, though not loudly. Su He forced a smile and approached him, asking, “So early?” Chen Yao’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “Yes, about the social media… could you please add me?” he asked.
Since Chen Yao was right in front of her, Su He couldn’t refuse directly. She hesitated and asked softly, “Do you really need to?” As she spoke, a gust of wind blew her hair across her face, partially hiding her eyes.
Chen Yao’s throat tightened, and he stuttered, “Yes, we’ve been classmates for so many years.” Su He chuckled.
What classmates? She remembered when she was pursuing Xie Lou, Chen Yao would often tease her.
Chen Yao was taken aback by her laughter. His brain froze for a moment.
This overwhelming feeling of attraction was unstoppable.
“Add me, okay?” Chen Yao held up his phone with a QR code. Su He sighed, knowing she couldn’t refuse anymore. She took out her phone and scanned the code, successfully adding him.
Chen Yao’s face relaxed, and his usual vibrant demeanor returned. “Classmate Su, your cooking is really delicious,” he said. “Thanks for the compliment. I’m going upstairs,” Su He replied, pointing to the stairs behind him. Chen Yao didn’t dare say more and stepped aside to let her pass.
As Su He climbed the stairs, she paused for a moment and glanced to the side. Xie Lou was leaning against the wall at the entrance of the adjacent dormitory’s stairs, raising an eyebrow and looking over with deep, emotionless eyes.
Su He glanced at him briefly before continuing upstairs.
After Su He went up, Chen Yao turned around and walked towards Xie Lou. When he approached, Xie Lou was watching him with a hint of a smile. Chenyao put away his phone and acted naturally, saying, “What are you doing here? You didn’t even wear long pants, showing off your legs.”
Xie Lou’s legs were strong and well-proportioned. He replied nonchalantly, “I came to watch the show.”
Though his tone was casual, Chen Yao felt a bit pressured. He chuckled awkwardly.
Xie Lou glanced at where Su He had stood earlier and then headed upstairs.

Su He entered her dormitory, and Chi Ying and Chen Lin woke up. She had brought back just enough breakfast for them. Qiying hugged Su He, calling her “good sister,” and Su He smiled, pushing her head away.
After opening her computer, Su He’s phone rang. It was Xie Lou: “Come over directly at noon. Auntie has bought groceries.” The message was sent three minutes ago, likely while they were downstairs.
Su He didn’t respond. Xie Lou’s family had hired a part-time housekeeper, Auntie Liu, who would sometimes help with grocery shopping.

Chen Yao followed Xie Lou home after a student council meeting. Xie Lou was smoking, and Chen Yao joked, “I don’t have lunch, so I’ll come to your place for food.” Xie Lou looked at him coldly but didn’t say anything.
Once they arrived home, Chen Yao changed into slippers and entered the kitchen. The house smelled fresh, thanks to the cleaning done by the housekeeper. Chen Yao asked Xie Lou if the set of knives belonged to Su He. Xie Lou confirmed, wearing a casual home outfit.
Chen Yao explored the kitchen, noticing changes since Su He started cooking there. The kitchen was no longer Liu Ma’s domain but had become Su He’s territory. Xie Lou raised an eyebrow and stood up, pulling Chen Yao’s arm. “Let’s go play games.”
Chen Yao was caught off guard but followed Xie Lou. As they played, Chen Yao couldn’t help but glance at Xie Lou, who seemed to have a hidden motive.
Just then, the door opened, and Su He entered. Chen Yao quickly sat up straight, adjusting his hair. Xie Lou leaned back, looking at Su He with an unlit cigarette in his mouth.
Chen Yao groaned, having fallen to the floor earlier. He awkwardly got up, still smiling. “Su…Su He, I’ve been waiting for you.”
Su He looked at him strangely and replied, “You must have had a hard time.”
She glanced at the two men on the sofa but didn’t linger, heading straight into the kitchen.

Su He was preparing lunch, feeling a bit annoyed as Chen Yao kept asking if he could help. She eventually ignored him. After about an hour, the meal was ready. Su He let out a sigh of relief as she opened the kitchen door to ventilate.
Chen Yao immediately offered to help serve. Su He wiped her forehead and nodded. Chen Yao beamed with joy, entering the kitchen to carry out the dishes.
Su He followed with two more plates. They set the table with a small stir-fry, mapo tofu, and a soup. The room filled with delicious aromas. Chen Yao couldn’t resist taking a bite and kept complimenting Su He’s cooking. Su He felt uncomfortable and glanced at Xie Lou, who was eating with a cigarette in his mouth.
As soon as Su He stepped out of the kitchen, Chen Yao blocked her way, insisting she stay for lunch. Su He hesitated, looking at Xie Lou, who was watching them without emotion.
Su He’s eyes conveyed a clear message, but Xie Lou just sat down and continued eating. Su He could only stay for lunch.
After the meal, Su He cleaned up while Chen Yao eagerly offered to help. The room was filled with Chen Yao’s attempts to please Su He, much like a peacock displaying its plumage.
Xie Lou watched silently, smoking and observing the scene.
Once Su He handed Chen Yao the task of washing dishes, she went to the bathroom. After washing her face and tidying her hair, she tried to leave but found the door stuck. She knocked on the door, calling out to Xie Lou in a dry voice.
Xie Lou’s low voice came from the other side, “Want to come out? Beg me.”
Su He was taken aback.
