Tan Hua - Chapter 91: Kill Him
Chapter 91: Kill Him
Jun Qiyu listened carefully to the faint sounds carried by the wind, remaining on alert for any movements around him.
Unfortunately, he was blind, and his ability to sense was extremely limited.
However, Prince Xiao seemed to have nothing to fear, suggesting he likely had more tricks up his sleeve.
“Pei Xingxu, you actually believe his nonsense? This man has been scheming in Loulan for years, I don’t need to tell you what his intentions are, do I? You’re aiding a tiger, and when I die, Loulan will no longer be yours.”
Pei Xingxu lazily lifted his eyelids, his cold gaze showing no concern.
“I don’t care about his schemes, Jun Qiyu, I want you dead! I want you dead today! As long as you’re alive, I won’t have peace!”
Pei Xingxu was clearly blinded by hatred, stuck in an obsessive thought.
Jun Qiyu had no words to say. He stood tall, completely unafraid.
“Heh, whether you can kill me is still to be seen. Pei Xingxu, Loulan is no longer safe, so Li Qing cannot stay with you. I will take him back to Jingguo.”
When Prince Xiao revealed himself, Jun Qiyu was immediately worried about Song Liqing. He didn’t trust anyone around him!
Without hesitation, he brought Song Liqing to his side.
Even though he was trapped, as long as he had breath in him, he wouldn’t let Song Liqing shed a single drop of blood.
Pei Xingxu gritted his teeth and shouted angrily, “Jun Qiyu! Stop with your pretentious excuses! Just look at your situation—you’re struggling to protect yourself, and yet you still want to fight with me?!”
When Song Liqing stubbornly wanted to save Jun Qiyu, Pei Xingxu’s heart was shattered, torn open with an empty void. His man was so deeply concerned for another man, something he couldn’t accept. He couldn’t stand the thought of Song Liqing running to someone else!
Pei Xingxu looked at Song Liqing, who was standing next to Jun Qiyu, with pain, as if his internal organs were being eaten away.
“Liqing, I’ll ask you just one question. Do you still think of yourself as my queen?… You’ve said you liked me, that you wanted to be with me. Does that still count?”
Song Liqing was tormented by the sudden interrogation.
“I… of course, it counts. We’re married.”
“Then why are you betraying me?” Pei Xingxu said sorrowfully. “No matter how much I gave, in the end, you still choose Jun Qiyu, don’t you?”
“No!” Song Liqing firmly denied, “It’s just that… he… he can’t die. Once he leaves here, I’ll go with you. We’ll go back together.”
“False, hehe, it’s all false. You’re still lying to me. You just want to deceive me and save Jun Qiyu.”
Pei Xingxu laughed bitterly, stepping closer to Song Liqing. Song Liqing stood frozen, feeling fear as he watched his current hysterical state.
Pei Xingxu lowered his gaze and asked, “What’s so special about Jun Qiyu that makes you cling to him? Hmm?”
“Xingxu-ge, I’m really not lying to you. Everything I said is from the heart, I promise. Don’t do this… it hurts me to see you like this.”
Song Liqing tried to reach out to comfort Pei Xingxu, but he found his movements stiff, unable to lift his hand to make any affectionate gesture.
“I don’t feel secure, you know, Liqing? I can’t feel your love… unless you prove it to me.”
Pei Xingxu finished speaking and pulled Song Liqing’s hand, placing an exquisite dagger, encrusted with gems, in Song Liqing’s palm.
“Prove… prove?”
Song Liqing didn’t understand his meaning.
“Yes, prove that the one you love is me.” Pei Xingxu gripped Song Liqing’s hand tightly. “Jun Qiyu and I can’t coexist, you can only choose one. Use this dagger and kill him yourself.”
Kill him…
Song Liqing was struck as if by thunder. He never expected the gentle Pei Xingxu would make such a request.
He held the cold dagger, his arm heavy.
“Can you do it?” Pei Xingxu asked softly, “Promise me.”
Two tears rolled down from Song Liqing’s eyes, his heart aching even more as he saw Pei Xingxu become so extreme.
“Must it be like this?” Song Liqing asked with a choked voice. “Why… why does loving you have to be proven by killing someone else?”
Pei Xingxu decisively replied, “Because he deserves to die! I’m helping you put an end to it. Liqing, don’t you feel sorry for him? Don’t you find it hard to kill him?”
“Pei Xingxu, you’ve lost your mind.” Jun Qiyu said in a deep voice, “You know his nature is pure, he’s never even spoken a harsh word to anyone, and yet you want him to kill? You’re not proving his love for you, you’re forcing him to become a murderer, hurting him!”
Pei Xingxu’s gaze softened briefly, but in an instant, he hardened again.
“To truly forget someone, there has to be a price.”
Jun Qiyu growled, “If this price is too cruel for him!”
“Shut up! All of Liqing’s pain is caused by you. I’m the one who saved him, I’m the one who cares for him, I’m the one who truly loves him! What right do you have to play the good guy in front of me?!”
Pei Xingxu shouted at him, then placed his hands on Song Liqing’s shoulders, turning him to face Jun Qiyu, the blade of the dagger aimed at Jun Qiyu’s chest.
“Go, kill him, we’ll start our life anew, I will always protect you, love you more than anyone else.”
Song Liqing’s hands, holding the dagger, trembled. Under Pei Xingxu’s instigation, he stumbled forward but stopped.
Tears streaked down his face as he helplessly looked at Jun Qiyu, who stood less than a foot away, with no intention of running or evading.
“Liqing, he’s gone mad now. You don’t have to listen to him.” Jun Qiyu said as gently as he could.
Song Liqing, still in a daze, suddenly felt a blinding light flash into his eyes. He instinctively squinted, but couldn’t help but be drawn to it. Not far away, there stood Su Zhao, twisting a ring on his finger, allowing the sunlight to refract into Song Liqing’s eyes.
Just like last time, Song Liqing suddenly felt dizzy, as if someone was speaking in his ear—
“Kill him.”
Song Liqing nearly fell into madness again. His consciousness blurred, as if he was struggling with a force for control of his body. “Kill him” echoed in his ears, lingering and relentless.
His steps moved uncontrollably toward Jun Qiyu, the dagger’s sharp point aimed at Jun Qiyu’s heart.
“Liqing.” Jun Qiyu’s deep voice called to him.
“Jun Qiyu… go quickly… I…”
Song Liqing fought to stay conscious, managing to utter a few broken words.
A flash of sharp white light passed, and the next moment, as Song Liqing regained his senses, the dagger in his hand had already pierced Jun Qiyu’s chest, blood spilling everywhere.
Song Liqing’s mind exploded like thunder. He really did it, and Jun Qiyu never dodged, from start to finish!
