The Marked Alpha Is Extremely Hard to Coax - Chapter 57
Jiang Yunbian ultimately did not see the water concert.
Xu Zhan and Gao Zining were going wild by the pool, and the videos Jiang Yunbian received were blurry, showing only a few color blocks shaking violently.
Zhou Die wrapped his arms around Jiang Yunbian’s waist, noticing his grim expression as he stared at the screen. He gently pulled him into his embrace, smiling softly. “Stop looking, it’s hard on your eyes.”
Jiang Yunbian angrily turned to glare at him. “Why can’t I watch? I hope some people can have some self-awareness.”
Zhou Die found him adorable, laughing as he climbed up, wrapping his arms around Jiang Yunbian’s waist and resting his chin on his shoulder, gently nuzzling.
Jiang Yunbian felt the heat spreading from the marked spot on his nape to his ear and face, making it impossible for him not to focus on the person behind him.
“I’m so hot…”
Zhou Die didn’t move. “The air conditioning is set to twenty-three degrees.”
“Why is Enigma so clingy?” Jiang Yunbian turned his head, lying down on the bed after putting down his phone. “I’m so tired, I want to sleep. Go away.”
Zhou Die looked at his arm trapped under Jiang Yunbian’s, smiling helplessly.
He wanted him to leave but didn’t want to let him go. What was this little dog trying to do?
“Yunbian.” Zhou Die pressed his hand on Jiang Yunbian’s hip and fell to the pillow beside him. “Sorry, you missed the concert.”
Even if Jiang Yunbian heard some regret in Zhou Die’s words, he wasn’t ignoring the person in front of him.
Zhou Die noticed his deliberate neglect and chuckled. “It’s all my fault for making you sit on the floating boat, otherwise, you wouldn’t have entered your heat early.”
“If I hadn’t tempted you with my pheromones, you wouldn’t be unable to move.”
“If you didn’t provoke me, you’d have the energy to watch…”
“Zhou Die.” Jiang Yunbian couldn’t help it and turned around. “I’ve realized you just like to dance on the minefield, don’t you?”
The person behind him remained silent, smiling.
“If you really want to apologize, you’d better go downstairs and give me three kowtows.” Jiang Yunbian met his gentle gaze, and the annoyance dissipated.
He lifted his fingers, tracing Zhou Die’s cheek and brushing over his eyes. “Seeing you won’t obediently listen, just stay put.”
Zhou Die smiled and pressed his chin against Jiang Yunbian’s fingers. “Yunbian.”
“Hm?”
“After college, let’s live together.”
Jiang Yunbian looked into his eyes, reflecting the brilliant fireworks rising outside the window.
“I see, you want to trick me into being your little housekeeper.” Jiang Yunbian snorted and turned back to his phone.
Zhou Die didn’t expect this reaction and tightened his hand on Jiang Yunbian’s lower abdomen. “I’ll be your little housekeeper, preparing three meals a day, washing the dishes, doing the housework, and greeting you at the door with ‘Welcome back’. How about that?”
Jiang Yunbian tried to suppress his smile, pretending to be indifferent. “How can that work? You’re the young master of the Zhou family.”
Zhou Die decided to correct this person’s attitude.
“To win over the young madam of the Zhou family, one indeed needs to put in some effort.”
Jiang Yunbian: “…”
Jiang Yunbian felt his fist harden.
Zhou Die remained calm. “So, have you thought it over?”
Jiang Yunbian looked at him. “I find you really hold grudges.”
“Then you should talk about mine.”
Jiang Yunbian pressed his tongue against his teeth. “Fine, young master. I’ll live with you. If you call me that again, I guarantee you won’t get away from it.”
Zhou Die smiled faintly, kissing his hand.
The water park trip ended on the evening of the next day. Everyone except Jiang Yunbian had a great time, and they even planned the next visit when they parted.
As the car stopped, Jiang Yunbian was about to get out when he remembered something and looked back at the people in the car.
“Zhou Die.” He lightly waved a jacket. “I’ll clean this and return it to you.”
Zhou Die, leaning by the window, smiled gently. “Okay.”
After arriving home and taking a shower, Jiang Yunbian lay in bed and received a message from Zhou Die.
[Zhou Miao Miao: I’m home.]
Jiang Yunbian was about to reply when he recalled the scenes of him and Zhou Die from last night as he lay on the pillow.
“Damn it.” After cursing softly, Jiang Yunbian turned over, pulling the blanket over himself.
He buried his flushed face in the blanket.
He had never been like this before; it was all Zhou Die’s fault.
*
The college entrance exam results were released at noon. Jiang Yunbian heard that the score-checking website was down and planned to check later. However, the exam results were sent directly via text message.
The score was higher than expected. Jiang Yunbian took a screenshot and sent it to Zhou Die, then received a message from Xu Zhan.
[Xu Zhan: Damn, Jiang Wangwang, you’re awesome.]
Jiang Yunbian was about to reply that it was just normal performance.
[Xu Zhan: Good eye, finding a city top scorer as a boyfriend.]
Jiang Yunbian: “…”
Then Jiang Yunbian’s messages exploded, all relating to Zhou Die.
Alright, got it, city top scorer.
Haha.
Jiang Yunbian was about to switch to airplane mode when a call from the source of his troubles came through.
“Yunbian’er.”
“Congratulations, top scholar.” Jiang Yunbian snorted. “I saw it—seven points higher than me.”
Zhou Die chuckled lightly. “So can I now return in glory and marry my beloved wife?”
“I warn you to mind your language,” Jiang Yunbian said with a smile. “By the way, aren’t you going to have a TV interview or make headlines?”
“There was supposed to be one, but my grandfather refused.”
“Of course, it’s only natural for the young master of the Zhou family to be outstanding.”
“Mm, you’re going to apply to C University, right? The house is already settled. Should we go see it today?”
“Now?” Jiang Yunbian glanced at the time—it was lunchtime.
“If you’re free, we can go see it now, have lunch together, and then pick out furniture.”
Zhou Die’s proposal to live together that night at the water park seemed like just a simple plan to Jiang Yunbian. He didn’t expect the day to come so quickly.
When Jiang Yunbian stood up from the bed, he felt an uneasy sensation, as if he hadn’t fully touched the ground.
He was going to live with Zhou Die?
Not hearing a response, Zhou Die said softly, “If you’re not willing, we can do it another day.”
“I’m willing.” Jiang Yunbian only realized what he said after finishing, clearing his throat. “Let’s do it today.”
Zhou Die drove to pick him up, and Jiang Yunbian was surprised to find that Zhou Die had gotten his driver’s license.
“I can pick you up anywhere from now on.” Zhou Die fastened Jiang Yunbian’s seatbelt. “Is the temperature too low?”
“When did you get your driver’s license?” Jiang Yunbian calculated the time; they hadn’t seen each other for just a week.
“I already knew how to drive; I just couldn’t get the license until I turned eighteen.”
Jiang Yunbian scoffed. “Stop showing off.”
Jiang Yunbian’s scores were already high, ranking in the top ten. Many interview agencies had contacted him, and his phone hadn’t stopped ringing since he received his results.
“Top scholar, haven’t you been contacted by anyone?”
“I set it to be unsearchable.” Zhou Die tossed his phone into Jiang Yunbian’s lap. “Feel free to check anytime.”
Jiang Yunbian, not like an Omega who might be awkward about such things, casually flipped through Zhou Die’s phone. “Not bad, keeping yourself clean. Worthy of praise.”
At the parking lot, Zhou Die extended his hand. “So, give me your phone.”
Jiang Yunbian: “?”
“Indulge my desire for control as a reward.”
Jiang Yunbian thought there was nothing to hide in his phone. After the car was parked, he handed it over.
“I’m not bragging, but I’ve never chatted aimlessly with anyone other than family and you. Xu Zhan doesn’t count.”
Jiang Yunbian thought he was fairly decent, ready to brag a bit more, when Zhou Die handed the phone back to him. “Do you really need to keep this label?”
“Hm?” Jiang Yunbian looked and saw Zhou Die had labeled it as “Rivals.”
It contained school seniors or juniors added at unknown times and some clients he added while working part-time in a band.
Zhou Die’s keen eyes had picked out those who had flirted with Jiang Yunbian, sending many cute emojis.
Some Jiang Yunbian had casually replied to, some had just question marks, and the rest were coldly ignored.
Jiang Yunbian didn’t have the habit of deleting conversation threads, so Zhou Die had gone through everything.
He was somewhat amused. “I don’t really remember them.”
Zhou Die looked at him with a hint of melancholy. “Do you remember any of them?”
Jiang Yunbian was silent for a moment. “Alright, I’ll delete them now.”
“No need.” Zhou Die moved closer behind him. “It’s not good to delete people randomly, so just keep them.”
“But this label is called ‘Rivals’—are you sure you want to keep it?”
“For your reputation.” Zhou Die turned around and led him into the elevator. “Let’s go see the house.”
Jiang Yunbian thought Zhou Die didn’t care, so he brushed it off and focused on the house.
Originally, the Zhou family had prepared a small villa, but the school was a bit far from the location, and Zhou Die wasn’t very interested, so they settled on this apartment.
“This location is good; you can see the sunrise in the morning and the sunset from the study.” Zhou Die showed him around. “The kitchen and bathroom are both there, and there’s a guest room and a master bedroom.”
Implying that he didn’t plan to have separate rooms.
“Do you like it?” Zhou Die stood on the balcony, holding a small pot of cactus.
Jiang Yunbian touched it. “I like it.”
“Do you like the house, the cactus, or me?”
“…” Jiang Yunbian found Zhou Die surprisingly childish sometimes. “I want to get a sofa in the living room.”
He roughly indicated a spot. “When I’m tired after coming back, I’ll flop down here.”
Zhou Die showed him a few styles on his phone. “Which one do you like?”
Jiang Yunbian chose a dark green one. “This one looks comfortable.”
Zhou Die agreed and then showed him another picture. “Do you want this one?”
Jiang Yunbian looked down and realized the picture was of: a baby bath gadget, a small yellow duck loved by children.
Jiang Yunbian suddenly grabbed Zhou Die’s hand and pushed him against the wall behind him. “Zhou Die, I let you off once before—are you addicted now?”
Seeing the easily agitated Alpha, Zhou Die smiled and kissed Jiang Yunbian’s lips.
“Mm, since no one is around, let’s deal with me quickly.”
