The Marked Alpha Is Extremely Hard to Coax - Chapter 63
As the only Enigma in the school, Zhou Die was called to the isolation room during the midday break to have his data recorded.
The school doctor, a kind and gentle elderly man, asked, “How have you been coping with the training these past few days? Are there any areas where you’re feeling unwell?”
Zhou Die answered honestly.
“Good, thank you for your cooperation, Zhou. As our first Enigma, your data is just for reference and will not be shared with anyone else.” The school doctor printed out the data. “I’ll be going to my office now. Please rest here for a while.”
Zhou Die agreed and took out his phone, only to realize that he had forgotten to charge it in the morning, and it had automatically shut down.
He wondered what Jiang Yunbian was up to.
As he was distracted, a faint fragrance drifted across his nose. Zhou Die looked up thoughtfully toward the door.
Tang Ruo, having watched the school doctor leave and confirming that only Zhou Die was in the isolation room, entered, albeit nervously.
“I… I came to get the inhibitor,” Tang Ruo said, clearing his throat. The weakness and hoarseness of an Omega during heats could make anyone’s heart soften, especially for an Alpha.
Zhou Die nodded and casually flipped through an Omega care book from the small bookshelf in the isolation room, not looking at Tang Ruo.
Tang Ruo had registered his heat at the start of military training, and they had prepared a special inhibitor for him to use when needed.
Although Tang Ruo had his own inhibitor, Wen Lin had instructed him to approach Zhou Die. This was the perfect opportunity.
Taking a deep breath, Tang Ruo carefully faced Zhou Die after retrieving the inhibitor.
He couldn’t think of a better excuse, so he softened his voice and asked plaintively, “Classmate, could you help me with the injection?”
High-grade Omegas like Tang Ruo were usually quite outstanding in appearance, and he had received many privileges due to this from a young age. Even Wen Lin had occasionally been swayed by his requests.
As a classmate and in a heat, Zhou Die, being a high-grade Alpha, would not refuse such a simple favor.
But he didn’t expect Zhou Die to be so indifferent.
Zhou Die turned a page of his book and spoke languidly, “Eighteen-year-old Omegas need to rely on others every time they’re in heat?”
Tang Ruo’s expression instantly darkened, and he clenched the small bottle of inhibitor in his fingers. “I… I get a bit dizzy with injections.”
“Then wait a moment. I’m not an expert. The school doctor will be back soon.”
The fragrance of rosemary grew stronger, and Tang Ruo awkwardly sat in a chair, feeling helpless.
Inviting other Alphas to administer the inhibitor was already the most daring thing he had in mind, but Wen Lin’s instructions left him with no retreat.
He needed to tempt the Alpha in front of him, make him lose control.
As the care manual was quickly finished, Zhou Die finally shifted his gaze to the other person in the small space.
The pheromone was approaching a dangerously high concentration. Tang Ruo’s face was flushed, looking delicate and vulnerable.
Such a state was indeed highly appealing to an Alpha.
Zhou Die propped his chin on his hand. “Don’t you have an Alpha? Why not ask him for a mark? Using an inhibitor isn’t good for your body.”
Tang Ruo finally received his attention. His eyes, shimmering with tears, looked up at Zhou Die with a pleading gaze. “That’s not my Alpha…”
The implication was very clear.
Others would have already understood that this Omega had no owner and could be temporarily marked at will.
Zhou Die slowly spoke, “Maybe I’m just too old-fashioned.”
This sentence was like a slap to Tang Ruo’s face, and he trembled all over. “Are you saying I don’t love myself?”
Zhou Die lifted his eyes. “That’s not what I meant. Don’t belittle yourself.”
“Well, what if I admit it?” Tang Ruo stood up, his physical need now overshadowing his sense of shame.
An Omega who has been claimed by an Alpha during heats would crave the calming effect of pheromones even more, and an inhibitor was never the best choice.
“I need a temporary mark. Can you do that?” Tang Ruo’s hand fell to his collar, gently pulling it down. “I won’t make you responsible.”
“Enough.” Zhou Die said softly, the previously carefree smile at the corner of his eye vanishing without a trace. “An Omega who doesn’t know when to stop is not likable.”
Tang Ruo froze, the heat in his body extinguished by Zhou Die’s cold gaze. In the sweltering summer, his hands and feet felt icy.
“Is it worth it?” Zhou Die propped his chin, looking at him emotionlessly. “The things Wen Lin asked you to do.”
A wave of inexplicable fear spread through Tang Ruo’s heart. After his schemes were uncovered, he was left feeling embarrassed and helpless.
Zhou Die chose to give him a way out. After all, humiliating an Omega was not his preference.
He took a bottle of inhibitor from the second shelf of the bookshelf, sprayed a bit, and turned to leave.
In the next moment, Zhou Die heard the sound of glass breaking as Tang Ruo threw himself around his waist.
The rosemary scent filled the isolation room, and his body temperature was alarmingly high.
Tang Ruo shattered the inhibitor and clung to Zhou Die. “I’m in serious danger now. Are you going to just watch me die?”
Zhou Die’s cold laugh resonated as he restrained Tang Ruo’s wrist, easily pulling him away.
Tang Ruo thought this was a sign of the Alpha losing control. He clenched his teeth and closed his eyes, ignoring the pain when he was thrown onto the bed.
After confirming Tang Ruo was almost too weak to move, Zhou Die turned and pulled up a chair, sitting down leisurely.
“Since you don’t want me to leave, then start your performance.”
Tang Ruo’s vision blurred, incredulously watching Zhou Die sit down calmly. “You… you can’t smell my pheromones?”
How could a normal Alpha remain rational at a time like this? He was a high-grade Omega!
“I can smell it.” Zhou Die took out the previously used inhibitor and sprayed it on his back again. “If you’re in danger, I’ll call an ambulance. Don’t worry, just continue with your performance.”
At this point, Tang Ruo finally felt Zhou Die’s previously hidden disgust. He had never been treated with such an attitude.
Even though he had released his pheromones to this extent, Zhou Die showed no reaction.
Tang Ruo was nearing his limit. In the final moment before consciousness faded, he heard Zhou Die’s indifferent laugh.
“You’re Wen Lin’s fiancée, right? If Mr. Wen doesn’t teach his son how to treat Omegas properly, I’ll reluctantly give him a lesson myself.”
Bang—
“Zhou Die!”
Jiang Yunbian kicked open the door, and the rosemary scent that greeted him made him gasp for breath. He stepped back, covering his mouth with his hand, and when he saw the unconscious Omega lying on the bed, his anger was about to reach its peak.
“Yunbian…”
The voice that brought him back to his senses was Zhou Die’s hoarse one.
Jiang Yunbian turned around abruptly. Enigma Zhou Die was sitting in the farthest corner from the bed, holding an inhibitor and looking weak.
“I feel so uncomfortable.”
“What’s going on? Which Omega is in heat!” The returning school doctor also realized something was wrong. The first thing he saw upon rushing in was the shattered inhibitor on the floor.
Before Jiang Yunbian could be affected, he helped Zhou Die out. “Teacher, I’ll take the other students away first.”
The school doctor, who had just dialed the ambulance, remembered there were others and nodded urgently. “Take him away first. Isolate him in the dormitory. I’ll be right there!”
Jiang Yunbian glanced once more at the unconscious Omega on the bed before helping Zhou Die out the door.
As the afternoon training had just begun, there were not many students around, so the evacuation was relatively smooth.
Zhou Die leaned heavily on Jiang Yunbian’s shoulder, quietly observing the Alpha’s anxious and worried expressions. He remained silent throughout the journey.
After carrying Zhou Die back to the dormitory and placing him on the bed, Jiang Yunbian anxiously touched his side face. “Are you conscious? Zhou Die?”
Enigma Zhou Die weakly raised his hand to grip Jiang Yunbian’s wrist, as if needing his comfort, murmuring, “Uncomfortable. I want mint…”
“Alright, I’ll… give you a beating.” Jiang Yunbian withdrew his hand, licking his back teeth. “You’re really putting on an act, aren’t you?”
Zhou Die’s half-closed eyes slowly opened, and he looked at him quietly for a moment, still not giving up. “I want mint.”
“You’ve mentioned before that Enigmas aren’t affected by pheromones,” Jiang Yunbian said, lightly pinching his chin. “Do you think I’ve forgotten?”
Zhou Die’s hand gently fell on the back of Jiang Yunbian’s neck, giving him a playful kiss on the corner of his lips.
“Really smart.”
Jiang Yunbian was caught off guard by Zhou Die’s shameless kiss, his anger momentarily extinguished. He straightened up and put some distance between them.
“Don’t tell me you did this on purpose.”
“Really didn’t.” Zhou Die sat up and reached for Jiang Yunbian’s pinky finger. “After all, I didn’t know my little Xiao Jiang had a radar and could detect my danger so quickly.”
“You’re the one in danger.”
That Omega had already fainted, and Zhou Die remained calm enough to look for an inhibitor and stay in character. He didn’t know who was truly at risk.
After waiting for a while and seeing that Jiang Yunbian hadn’t said anything, Zhou Die pulled him into his arms.
“Are you scared?”
Jiang Yunbian sighed and wrapped his arms around his waist. “A little.”
Zhou Die smelled the rosemary on him and then unhappily rubbed his neck. The scent of cedar, light as a veil, settled on Jiang Yunbian, clearing the Omega’s pheromones entirely.
“I wasn’t affected.” Jiang Yunbian sensed his intention. “Zhou Die, I’m sorry.”
“Sorry for what?” Zhou Die touched the back of his neck. “Wasn’t it my fault for not keeping to the rules, letting an ignorant little Omega get close and be manipulated? I suggest Xiao Jiang immediately give me a lesson on the majesty of an Alpha, so I’ll never dare to fool around again.”
Jiang Yunbian chuckled at him, lightly tapping his shoulder.
“Do you really have some special kink?”
Zhou Die pretended to be in pain, holding his chest, and watched Jiang Yunbian’s shocked expression. He added, “You’ve hammered it into my heart.”
“…” Jiang Yunbian was at a loss. “What were you planning to do?”
“Planning?” Zhou Die tilted his head. “Make a big scene, call an ambulance, and let everyone at C University know that Zhou Die, a freshman from the Aerospace College, is cold-blooded and indifferent, refusing to help.”
“You’ll get punished.”
“Then what should Xiao Jiang do? Give him a mark and then get entangled with him?” Zhou Die clicked his tongue in feigned disappointment. “You’re really a jerk. What would your boyfriend do if he found out?”
