The Marked Alpha Is Extremely Hard to Coax - Chapter 65
After Qu Ling finished singing, she came down to find Jiang Yunbian and introduced him to several seniors on stage.
Jiang Yunbian didn’t remember any of them but politely nodded, “Thank you, senior.”
Qu Ling, friendly and familiar, put her hand on Jiang Yunbian’s shoulder and asked with a smile, “So, shouldn’t you introduce us to this person?”
Zhou Die was already quite famous at C University, so Jiang Yunbian knew that Qu Ling wasn’t truly unfamiliar with him.
“This is Zhou Die, my friend.” Jiang Yunbian looked at Zhou Die’s expression and added with a smile, “We’re not just friends.”
Qu Ling said “Oh” with a meaningful tone, “I see.”
“By the way, our band has booked this place for the night. Your seniors are looking forward to seeing you,” Qu Ling extended a serious invitation, “How about trying out the stage?”
Jiang Yunbian was surprised but excited. He loved singing, and after a couple of cocktails, he was actually eager to give it a try.
Zhou Die noticed and smiled, “Is it okay? I’m looking forward to it.”
Jiang Yunbian’s eyes lit up like a puppy receiving a command.
Qu Ling pointed him in the direction of the stage. As Jiang Yunbian turned back to wink at Zhou Die, he said, “I won’t let you down.”
After Jiang Yunbian left, Qu Ling turned back with a smile and scrunched her nose, “So cheesy.”
Zhou Die just smiled and remained silent.
“Actually, I used to like Xiao Jiang quite a bit,” Qu Ling said, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, and looked at Zhou Die with a hint of regret, “But unfortunately, he’s taken.”
On stage, Jiang Yunbian was surprised to see both a piano and a guitar but gestured for them to join.
“Hello, seniors.” Jiang Yunbian greeted politely, settled into a chair after discussing the song, adjusted the microphone, and let his gaze sweep over the surprised and expectant faces in the audience before landing on Zhou Die.
He sang a popular new English song.
Zhou Die wasn’t really into the latest trends, but every time Jiang Yunbian emphasized the last word of each line, he looked at him with a tender and almost lingering gaze.
Dressed in Jiang Yunbian’s jacket, Zhou Die saw him in his simplest and cleanest form. There were no bright lights or distant cameras—just Jiang Yunbian standing there, fresh and clear.
If Weibo was the gentle side of Jiang Yunbian during his youth, then this stage was the exclusive romance Jiang Yunbian gave to Zhou Die.
Zhou Die sipped his drink, the rum’s mint flavor lingering on his tongue.
It felt like he was intoxicated by the time named Jiang Yunbian.
Jiang Yunbian sang only one song. At the end, there was applause and cheers from the audience, and someone even threw a few scattered flowers onto the stage.
Jiang Yunbian politely smiled and apologized for showing off, said goodbye to the seniors, and blushed deeply as he came down from the stage.
He walked toward Zhou Die, leaving a trail of enchanting light from the stage, bringing only a unique warmth for Zhou Die.
Zhou Die naturally embraced him.
“I actually don’t sing this song very well,” Jiang Yunbian whispered in his ear, trying to ease his embarrassment, and took a sip of his cocktail, “Mmm, mint.”
“Tastes good, right?” Zhou Die leaned in closer to his lips, as if responding to his whisper.
Jiang Yunbian almost choked, turning red and realizing everyone was watching them.
So, he decisively kissed Zhou Die on the lips.
“Average.”
“But I like it the most,” Zhou Die licked his lips, which had a hint of the alcohol Jiang Yunbian had brought, “Just a little less than how much I like you.”
Jiang Yunbian felt a warm flush seeping out from his clothes. He lowered his head, returned to his seat, and unconsciously fiddled with his phone.
The unlocked screen still showed Weibo. He was about to close it when he noticed a private message from a minute ago.
[Nai Tian Xiao Mao Mi: I really like you.]
Jiang Yunbian paused. He hadn’t posted any updates, and the timing of this private message seemed too coincidental.
It was as if the owner of this account had also been at the scene and heard his performance.
Jiang Yunbian slowly looked up. Zhou Die was still gazing at the stage with a relaxed expression, showing no signs of suspicion.
He began to entertain an absurd thought.
Could Nai Tian Xiao Mao Mi be…
Senior Qu Ling?
Sweet and cute, knowing he was from Ten-Star, and present at the scene.
Jiang Yunbian hurriedly closed his phone, the previous excitement disappearing, leaving him with a sense of unease.
He didn’t want any melodramatic entanglements at the start of the school year, nor did he want Zhou Die to think he was involved with anyone else.
From the unread message status, it seemed Zhou Die hadn’t noticed.
Jiang Yunbian quickly deleted the conversation and pretended to focus back on the stage.
His thoughts became muddled by the confession message, and Jiang Yunbian didn’t understand what was happening.
After all, this was an old fan from his early Weibo days, and Jiang Yunbian couldn’t ignore someone who had been with him for so long.
He always had a peculiar feeling about this account, despite it only liking and retweeting silently, he felt this person was different from other fans.
But once the account matched up with Qu Ling, Jiang Yunbian felt an inexplicable sense of loss.
Summoning his courage, he looked at Zhou Die: “Zhou Die, I…”
Just as he was about to speak, he froze.
Zhou Die’s face had turned red at some point, resting his chin on his hands, his gaze unfocused.
On the table in front of him was only an empty cocktail glass with crushed ice.
“No way…” Jiang Yunbian couldn’t believe it. The alcohol content was so low for him, could Zhou Die really be drunk?
“Jiang Yunbian,” Zhou Die’s voice was husky and tickling his ear.
It didn’t seem to mean much.
“Ah, I’m here,” Jiang Yunbian snapped back to reality, “Are you okay? How much did you drink?”
Zhou Die slowly lifted his other hand, propping his chin with both hands, and gazed at Jiang Yunbian.
Damn, he must be drunk.
Jiang Yunbian felt a headache coming on. How would they get back to the dorm later? Zhou Die’s drinking capacity was incredible.
Before he could figure out a plan, Zhou Die suddenly kicked his toe. Jiang Yunbian turned around to find Zhou Die’s eyes filled with a hint of complaint, grumbling, “Why aren’t you looking at me?”
“Tsk.” Jiang Yunbian leaned back with a bit of an exasperated look, “What’s there to see with a drunk person?”
Jiang Yunbian had hoped that Zhou Die might just be the type to get red-faced easily, but it seemed unlikely now.
Zhou Die slowly processed Jiang Yunbian’s previous words, then stood up from his seat with a serious expression, heading towards the door.
Jiang Yunbian quickly grabbed his arm, “Where are you going?”
Zhou Die, seeming to be sulking, pulled his hand away and frowned, “Don’t look at me, I’m leaving.”
Jiang Yunbian didn’t expect to be so easily brushed off and hurried to catch up with Zhou Die, holding the glass door open for him.
Zhou Die snorted and strode outside.
Jiang Yunbian was really surprised by how big Zhou Die’s temper was when he was drunk and had no choice but to follow him, “Let me see you. Don’t walk so fast.”
Zhou Die suddenly stopped again. Jiang Yunbian was caught off guard by his sudden movements and stood warily behind him.
Zhou Die didn’t turn around but subtly raised his fingertips.
Jiang Yunbian immediately understood that Zhou Die wanted to hold hands, and he almost couldn’t help but laugh as he stepped forward and took his hand.
Zhou Die tightened his grip but continued to be sulky, “You’re not forced to look at me, yet you want to hold my hand.”
Jiang Yunbian patiently comforted him, “Yes, it’s my one-sided wish.”
Zhou Die looked at him for a moment before slowly turning his gaze away, “…It’s not entirely one-sided.”
Jiang Yunbian was charmed by his illogical but incredibly alluring behavior. He stepped closer and gently pressed his hand on the back of Zhou Die’s head.
After the kiss, he licked his lips and savored the taste for a moment.
“It really tastes like alcohol.”
The sudden kiss startled Enigma for a second, then he quickly grabbed Jiang Yunbian’s hand.
Jiang Yunbian was caught off guard and found himself being pulled down the street, “Wait, Zhou Die, where are you going?”
Drunk Enigma’s gaze swept rapidly over the buildings, finally stopping in front of a hotel.
Jiang Yunbian urgently pulled him back, “Zhou Die, you’re not awake yet. Where are you going?”
Zhou Die turned his head. The momentary pressure in his eyes left Jiang Yunbian almost speechless.
Zhou Die pulled out his ID from his pocket, showing a hint of childish stubbornness, “I want to mark you.”
Jiang Yunbian: “…”
Jiang Yunbian: “Go back. I’ll give you three seconds.”
Without looking back, Zhou Die pulled him into the hotel and slapped the ID on the desk, “One large bed room.”
Jiang Yunbian felt he must be deeply in love with this person to not have knocked Zhou Die out and dragged him away at the front desk.
In the elevator, Jiang Yunbian calmly analyzed the situation, thinking that, as an eighteen-year-old strong Alpha, he shouldn’t have trouble dealing with a drunk person.
Once in the room, he was about to have a serious talk with Zhou Die, but before he could, he was abruptly thrown onto the bed.
Jiang Yunbian had never felt such a difference in strength before.
Enigma, like a looming shadow, drew closer, and Jiang Yunbian realized the urgency of the situation.
He bit his teeth and said, “No way…”
Zhou Die closely observed his expression, and all of Jiang Yunbian’s restraint and anxiety were clear to him.
The Alpha was unwilling, but remembering his promise, he seemed to struggle with the irrationality of it all.
Jiang Yunbian gritted his teeth, turned his face, and whispered, “If you had told me earlier, I would have been more prepared.”
Zhou Die suddenly chuckled, then relaxed the grip on Jiang Yunbian’s wrist and lazily leaned against his shoulder.
Jiang Yunbian’s previously tense and resigned demeanor instantly relaxed, and he awkwardly patted Zhou Die.
“Zhou Die, you’re not going to…”
Zhou Die lightly bit the corner of his lips, his dark eyes filled with a smile.
“I’m tired. Let’s talk when I wake up.”
Jiang Yunbian: “……”
