The richest woman committed a crime with her child - Chapter 27
A cool yet scorching breath brushed against the fine, soft hairs near her temples, enveloping her entirely, causing her cheeks to flush with heat.
Xu Mei instinctively murmured, “You…”
As her voice trailed off, the man’s thin lips pressed against her cheek.
Soft, damp, and burning hot.
In an instant, the sensation overwhelmed her entire body.
The surrounding darkness seemed to devour the reality of his breathing.
She instinctively reached out and grabbed the fabric of his shirt. “Shen Youting, it’s you, right?”
“What, who else could it be? Did you want someone else to kiss you?” Shen Youting’s large hand gripped her waist, pulling her tightly into his embrace. His chest pressed firmly against hers, and the strength in his hands grew increasingly intense, to the point where it almost hurt—reminding her that this wasn’t a dream.
“You held me all night just two days ago, and now you can’t recognize me?”
“But you…” Xu Mei tilted her head up, her forehead resting against his chin. “Does kissing me mean you like me?”
“Mmm,” he replied, lowering his head to press against her red lips, his voice low and penetrating. “I like you.”
“Then why did you humiliate me in front of others tonight?”
“You didn’t come home for dinner. You prefer spending time with that little accountant.” He pinched her chin, his voice deep and resonant, as if speaking from his chest. “Do you like him or me?”
“I like you.” A small thrill of joy rose in Xu Mei’s heart, and she pursed her lips into a smile. But then, remembering the grievances she’d suffered over the past two days, she pouted. “But you made me so angry today, and the day before too.”
“Still angry now?” The man’s large hand gently caressed her face, inch by inch, as if he were sketching a masterpiece.
“A little, when I think about it. But when I don’t, it’s gone.” Her soft, delicate voice was filled with coquettishness.
“How can I make you completely stop being angry?”
“Then kiss me a little longer.”
“Mmm.” The man leaned down and acted on her request.
Downstairs, the sound of cheers and commotion continued, as if encouraging the couple’s secret rendezvous upstairs.
After a burst of applause, the lights downstairs flickered back on.
By the light, Xu Mei could clearly see the man who seemed to be stealing the air from her lungs—Shen Youting, the same man who usually treated her with cold indifference.
He was wearing the same black summer outfit with subtle patterns that he had on during their argument earlier. The fabric intertwined with her red gauze dress, creating an atmosphere of endless ambiguity.
Unlike his usual aloofness, there was now a hint of mischief in his expression.
The sound of uneven footsteps approached, and he suddenly stopped kissing her. His dark eyes locked onto hers, a faint, devilish smile playing on his lips as he whispered softly, “Shall I take you horseback riding?”
“Okay.” Xu Mei wrapped her arms around his neck, resting her head on his shoulder. Her beautiful face radiated happiness as she murmured softly, “Carry me there. Don’t let anyone see.”
No sooner had she spoken than the man scooped her up in his arms and strode toward the window.
“You’re not going to jump, are you…?”
Just as Xu Mei had guessed, Shen Youting jumped—and he took her with him.
If it weren’t for the fear of being seen, she would have screamed—was this man out of his mind? Sure, he had some inexplicable skill that resembled the lightness technique of walking on water, but she didn’t!
“Scared?” Shen Youting asked.
“Not scared… well, maybe just a little. Where’s the horse?”
Shen Youting set her down and whistled. A gust of wind followed as the horse broke free from its reins and galloped over.
He mounted the horse in one swift motion, then reached out and pulled her up to sit in front of him.
He had taught her how to ride like this before, with her sitting in front of him. But back then, she was still young, naive, and unaware of the boundaries between men and women. Her mind was pure, focused solely on learning how to ride.
